Are these lots actually serious right now or they are just taking the piss? I don't think there have been any "Batman movie" in recent memory that has been "kid friendly", I blame the MPA for tagging this as "PG-13". I remember critics where on about "unnecessary violence has increased because of this movie", when the Joker came out in 2019.

Man..I am seriously hoping "The Batman" is dark, gritty, and violent to the max. If a kid at 13 can't handle this by now, leave them at home cool cool

Scamming is actually not very hard. It just takes gut.

It's like saying armed robbers would do well in war front.
Scamming is not hard not hard when your end game is a $50 iTunes gift card.

But fleecing a multi national company of millions of dollars, you will need more than guts...you actually have to be intelligent and be detailed.

Saw a docu on fraud one time, when the "G-guy" said his "client" had home in 3 states in the US and transverse between these homes, so he had to learn all the patterns patterning to these states i.e Major banks, major streets, holidays, thier congress men, how to clone the zip codes in these states, major companies and and who are on the boards of these companies. He said he basically created a character with these information and the client thought he lived 4 streets from her for a whole year . Tell me a country won't progress if a collective put this "said guts and intelligent to good use".

And the armed robber not doing well in the war front doesn't analogy doesn't fly here because they are different scenarios.

Wow.. I ALWAYS here of the Roman Polanski reference but I'm not aware of what he did entirely.
Damn.
it's so surreal...he said he was going to do a photo shoot with a 13 year girl, the girl's mother agreed, in between shoot, he said he wanted a topless photo of her and she said no, he proceeded to drug her and performed sexual acts on her. He 100% did all that. Funny enough i saw one of his movies last week here, so he's actively still making movies..The boldness. Nothing is ever black or white in law if you can bend it to your advantage.

Law dey tire and funny me at times. He got a "St Kitts and Nevis" passport before his arrest, assuming he was able to enter that country, he would have been a free man. Reminds me of Roman Polanski case, this man raped a minor, was indicted but he obtained a French passport and fled to France before he could face a grand jury, and this happened in the 70's and France has refused to extradict "their citizen" to US to face charges since then. He's been living as a free man in France even producing and releasing movies and more shockingly winning oscars.

It baffles me too, as in the guy leaves prison early and continues with the scam, shows off on SM and nobody does anything. If this was happening in Nigeria, I'd have thought he was bribing the authorities but this one na international scammer wey dey update him location for SM. Our local yahoo boys dey learn work
He served time in Isreal and Finland for which they are admissable evidence for, but as for the women in the documentary he technically commited no crime against them and the evidence they have against him won't hold in court, and he commits the said crime in multiple countries spanning multiple legal jurisdiction making it hard to prosecute him due to differences in the interpretation of laws in these countries. State prosecution of cases is expensive in the western clime and for them to even attempt it, the case has to be watertight, posing danger to a larger percentage of the population, something like a drug trafficking ring, human trafficking ring or a human organ trafficking ring, they are not going to waste taxpayers money on prosecuting someone beacause you willingly sent money to them. The only hope the women have is to use their personal funds to get a good lawyer, of which they are broke and in debt so that is out of the question. I am even hearing that they didn't gain any monetary benefit from Netflix for the documentary..a very silly move. They are even the ones that committed fraud, by seeking out loans under false pretences in their own name just because someone said "help, send me thousands of dollars, my enemies are after me"

Ps: Romance scams are hardly picked up by the law probably 1 out of 10. The only way to make headway is hire a private lawyer and who will do this after been scammed, they will be broke, in debt and ashamed, so they will just let it slide. Hushpupi's case is quite different because he graduated from romance scam to a full blown international fraud ring scamming multiple companies in several countries, there is even a case where he defrauded several old people's home in the US, fleecing them of thier life savings on the pretence of providing breathing machines for them during the height of the COVID 19 pandemic, so all these helped FBI in profiling him, building several pages of cases against him with admissable evidence and finally indicting him.

There are some shows that needs the weekly treatment. Like Midnight Mass that faded out after first week even tho it was brilliant and exceptional.

Amazon no be mumu wey ditch their all at once plan for weekly during Wheel of Time release. Same as The Boys S2. People forget we watched The Boys as a binge watch in S1 but in S2 the buzz went bonkers and show became truly global. Same goes for Invincible. And I'm definitely not expecting binge watch for LOTR.

Disney+ and Apple TV sef know as e dey go.
People still have the choice to wait till all episodes release and still watch all at once.

This sums up how I feel. ↓↓
Apart from Netflix for the now, I think going forward the weekly release will be the main stay, beacause as the budget of these shows becomes bigger so the network will want to make them worthwhile and get their money's worth. Ain't no way Amazon spending those millions of Us dolls on LOTR or Apple on "See" to now rush and release them in one day.

At bolded... I'm clearly one of such people. I don't have the patience to be left hanging in suspense, so I will rather just have patience and wait till the whole thing airs before I see it but I am playing a very dangerous game avoiding spoilers cool wink..Been playing cat and mouse with Peacemaker spoilers for about about 6 weeks now, I have practically muted anything concerning it on twitter but you see the people on this thread... unforgiving with spoilers I tell you grin

I think the "weekly release" favours the network more. For me, I haven't followed shows weekly in the past 2 years, I normally wait for the shows to finish airing before binging so i still lean towards the Netflix method.

Nice film, leant a few things.
lol really? My subtitle font is always pegged at size 24 or 25.. anything bigger than that will be interfering with the "action" on screen and I will be too focused on the subtitle than the actual movie.

"Hell or High water" (2016)
Pretty good western movie that started of with two seemly dim wit brothers robbing a bank that spiraled into a chaotic sequence of event involving some witty dailogues and an interesting cop chase.
Dodgy ending but it was a good watch overall.

Catching up on the thread and saw the noisemaker saying producers don't have confidence in new TV shows LOTR and GoT prequel.
I laff in Elven, LOTR that already has at least 5 seasons ordered and already spent $1billion for production by "the same" company that produced the Wheel of Time. All this even before a trailer of the show comes out, talk more of a full season.

And one dude from Nigeria thinks they're afraid of a show it's heads, shoulder and tail superior to in every way. To think this dude is delusional to even suggest HOTD is "afraid" of WOT is just hilarious. A prequel to the most influential TV show ever made, one of the top 3 biggest fantasy fanbase or books. A show with sequels and spinoff announced and entering development stage even before show debuts. A show with the biggest budget ever spent on an HBO show. And u think it's only 1, 2 or 3 seasons planned.
grin grin bruh, I want in on what u smoking.

If only you had befriended Google as someone said earlier.... grin
The guy's take is always off most time and if he's fixated on a particular show, we won't have a peace on this thread for months. So i most time just unlook and save my energy. This should be his third moniker that i know of, same modus operandi each time.

Have you seen Parallel Mothers? And, Jodie was Lead Actress in TLD. Matt was Lead Actor and Adam was Supporting Actor alongside Ben. I don't understand what you mean by "her best bet was a supporting actress". She was the lead actress
Penelopè Cruz's nomination for Parallel Mother was a joke i agree.

Best actor or actress is given to the person that is that delivers a stellar performance in a leading role. So between Matt Damon, Adam Driver and Jodie Comer, who was the lead in TLD? I would say Matt Damon. Her been " lead actress" against other actresses in TLD is null and void because she not competing against them but against females who were in a "leading role" overall in other movies been Jessica Chastain as Tammy Faye in "Eyes of Tammy Faye" or Kristen Stewart as lady Diana Spencer in " Spencer". That is why i still insist that she could have had a better chance with "Best supporting actress".

Lol. You serious? Are you sure you're not talking about Penelope's perfomance?
I am quite serious. I have seen her performance before and even better. There's was no way she was getting the best actress nod btw cuz i think Matt Damon and Adam Driver were the stars and lead of TLD, so her best bet was a supporting actress nod and even that is stacked heavy.

The thing about this argument of actors trying their best to perfect accents, is that, we've seen other actors who did better with accents. I mean, doesn't Gaga have like Italian ancestry or something. If you say they cast those people mainly because of their star power and accent was just something they were going to manage, I would agree. I didn't have much problem with the actors sha. Except Leto and I would understand if the character in real life behaved that way
Ancestry ≠ Accent. Picking up an accent actually requires you staying in the particular place for a sustained period of time. Lady Gaga has stayed in the US almost all her life so i doubt she could have picked up an Italian accent so yeah, as you rightly pointed out. They were cast for thier Star power and not thier accent.

I feel his mannerisms and accent were intentional.
For me I dig their Italian accents, even tho they struggled with it. It felt a bit more authentic.
This!. I have seen some articles bashing thier accent especially that of Lady Gaga and I think it's a tad unfair. Learning an accent is not as easy as it seems especially one that is totally different from the one you are used to. The best film schools don't teach this and so production actually get vocal coaches for the actors and actresses prior to filming which is time bound btw. So an actor or actress should magically just be perfect in a new accent inside say 3 months of training? come on!. Some are saying why not just cast Italian actors, for worldwide wide fashion brand name origin story as this, i think they needed "world wide faces" and not just any random Italian actor or actress.
I will take the historical inaccuracies criticism of the movie but not the accent cuz even though it was cringe at times, they tried thier best.

Crazy that TLD had no single nomination. Not even for Production Design or Costume or Best Actress. They no even nominate Villeneuve for Best Director
Might agree with the rest but there was no way Jodie was getting a norm with that performance. considering those that were nominated, her performance was pretty normal, generic and it doesn't require a particular skill set to pull off.
