Which record sir?

The ways you guys use the word ',betray' does not suggest you truly understand the meaning.

Anenih was the Chairman of PDP Board of Trustees and Mr Fix It for the PDP.

Oshiomole was in the ACN and he defeated the PDP under Anenih, Igbinedion, Osunbor etc.

So if you defeat your opponents in an election, that means you betray them?

Lol keep deceiving urselves. He betrayed anenih. It’s on record till date.

The political tango in Edo State is not as you guys assume.

Gov Obaseki didn't manage the situation very well. A little bit of humility and tact could have prevented his troubles.

Even decamping to the PDP may not solve the problems.
There are many politicians who have kept faith with the PDP through thin and thick for years, investing their resources and energy with the hope of clinching the party's ticket and the genuine belief that they would defeat Obaseki of the APC.

Few days to the Primaries, Obaseki now decamp to the PDP and you feel dashing him the Governorship ticket will not generate crisis within the PDP?

The APC will just capitalize on this, buy over the present frontline aspirants in the PDP by promising them Federal appointments (who will leave certainties of the FG appointments for the uncertainties of Obaseki's meagre compensation?) and they will either serve as internal moles in the PDP or rightly decamp to the APC, leaving Obaseki in the cold.

IPOB peddle dangerous propaganda against the Yorubas and the Hausa-Fulanis which unfortunately many young Igbos believe hook, line and singer.

The reverberating consequences of this phenomenon for the Yorubas and Hausa-Fulanis is gradually being felt and will become worse in the years ahead.

If you go to Twitter and Facebook, you will see the avalanche of malicious falsehood being dish out against the Yorubas that any reasonable Yoruba person will know that if this people have the power and opportunities, they will not hesitate to harm the Yoruba interests.

However, all these will also have consequences for the Igbos.

wirinet:
Apart for ipob people being obsessed with Yoruba every waking moment and probably in their dreams also, they are equally obsessed with Yoruba media.
Abeg ask them, are they formed to read or listen to Yoruba media? Why not listen or read only igbo media? Abi igbo no get media?
PoliticsRe: What I Saw On Aljazeera News by oyatz(m): 6:30am On Jun 16, 2020
Must you find a way to bring Yorubas( always in a negative way) to everything?

What concern Yorubas in this matter?

Your hatred for the Yorubas can't bring about any solution, it won't make Buhari to die or resign, it won't stop Boko Haram, it won't stop Yorubas from constested the 2023 election and it won't add money into your bank account?

Rather it will galvanize the Yorubas , including the hitherto neutral ones to come together.

Stop this unnecessary hatred that won't take you anywhere.

How did you measured this?

Did you also notice that the PDP Southeast supporters are also championing his re-election bid?

Godwin Obaseki had problems with his party, the APC.

popez:
I have noticed this worrying trend about south west APC supporters being the ones majorly against the re-election of Edo state governor, Godwin Obaseki
You would hardly see Apc supporters from other regions being this vocal, and fighting this hard against Obaseki's re-election, despite Edo state not being a south west state.

It makes one wonder what they stand to gain if Obaseki doesn't get re-elected.

Does it have anything to do with 2023 general election?

The S/East State Governors proscribed IPOB and provided security forces the platform to deal with them but you are blaming the Yorubas ,many of whom don't even know what IPOB is.

Kanu knows what he is doing, the followers may not know. . .he needs to keep up fanning the embers of inter-tribal hatred and proclaim himself as the defender of the Igbos in order to continue to in business.

His method is similar to those of Pastors of the Pentecostal Churches. They keep spreading fears about Ancestral curses, Village peoples, witches ,Wizards (all of which appear to stopped during the lockdown) and how they are destroying peoples' marriages, business or Health while positioning themselves as the Solution providers.

Throwback:
Exactly!

For Invictus Obi, the allegations were already filed in court for which the warrant of arrest was granted.

So there was already factual and explicit information on his arrest from the get go.

Kanu, like his fellow bitter and emotional tribesmen, are a sorry case who must find a way to inject their own self created Igbophobia on any matter, even if it does not directly involve the Igbos.

It is an obsession that is pathological.

You are getting me wrong. I am not blaming Anambra State or anybody.
I was only explaining to the guy how the limits of 10MW can be avoided.

Most State Governors in Nigeria don't invest in long term project that may take 5 years to materialize, they rather believe in awarding contracts to their party men to build 3 classroom-blocks in all the Local Government to siphon money and the electorates will see and say 'our Governor is working'

The National grid system has a great disadvantage for a very large Country like Nigeria.

Electricity should be on the concurrent list.

During the Colonial era, there was nothing like National Grid and the British imported huge Generators that supply regular electricity supply but with very little coverage.
We should have replaced the huge Generators with power plants.

Each State should generate it's own electricity or buy from States that can do so or remain in perpetual darkness untill when their citizens can vote for a Governor that can solve the problem.

Emotionss:

So what is stopping YOUR state government from doing it ?

Don't you think it would have been more satisfying for you if you channel your strength in convincing your state government to embark on this Good project than worrying yourself over Ndi- Anambra
PoliticsRe: 2023: Sagay Fumes Over Clamour For Presidency To Remain In North by oyatz(m): 7:06pm On Jun 14, 2020
Tribes matters but Political parties matters more.
This is the reason why tribal political parties are outlawed by the Constitution.

This is the reason someone from a minority tribe can defeat a candidate from a majority tribe.

Are your tribes men going to mobilize voters to vote for you in all the wards or are your tribes men going to be your agents in all the polling units in Nigeria?

If Buhari or Jonathan has constested on the platform of APGA, SDP or CPD they would have lost.

As a matter of fact, that was why the ACN,ANPP, CPC and part of APGA fused to form APC in 2013.

As per what I believe or Owambe, leave it like that. We can't all reason in the same way sir.

Bros, just relax ,let Nkechinyere be rubbing your back and enjoy yourself with 3 Hero beers and a plate of Isi-Ewu at Mama Ngozi's place. I will settle the bill after leaving our Owambe place.

PoliticsRe: 2023: Sagay Fumes Over Clamour For Presidency To Remain In North by oyatz(m): 6:52pm On Jun 14, 2020
The Yoruba , Ijaw, Fulani or Nupe candidates in all the parties should contest for the Presidency for their country. . .This is the best way to make our democracy mature.

It will also make the upcoming generation to have confidence that the democratic process works and that their works, resources, time, dedication and loyalties to a political party can be rewarded.

Being shocked is irrelevant because every candidate already knows he can either win or lose the election.
There can only be a single winner. Those who lose in 2023 can win in 2027 or 2031.

You can't win all the time, you win sometimes and you lose sometimes.

We can't say because of the fear of defeat and not aspire for the highest post in the land.

There's nothing in what you are saying that a serious candidate running for the presidential election will not have thought of (strategies to win, your dependable allies, undetermined voters, swing States and opposition strongholds).

Cheers.

cosef:
Do you want to know the truth?

yorubas actually have deceived themselves for so long that since the north and east do not get along on socio-political and religious issues, the east will vote prefer a yoruba come what may. So they believe they can always play "double agent" and get away with it.

yorubas propagated "Igbo will never president" propaganda since 1970s. They also propagated "a vote for Ibo is a vote for Biafra" in their newspapers in that era. Today they pretend that "hate speech" started with Nnamdi Kanu who became popular just a couple of years ago. grin grin

They will be shocked beyond "shockability" in 2023. Two can play the game. grin
PoliticsRe: 2023: Sagay Fumes Over Clamour For Presidency To Remain In North by oyatz(m): 6:40pm On Jun 14, 2020
People who don't have voter's cards let alone political parties' members cards will be analysizing political issues like political juggernauts!

Political parties and NOT tribes contest elections and account for 70% of the success needed to win.

This is the reason why Gov Obaseki's disqualification from the APC's primaries is generating uproar. This is the same reason why Obaseki is thinking of joining the PDP instead of say APGA, AD or Labour party.

This is the reason how Dr Ahmed Lawan from the Bade Tribe of just about 700,000 people can become the num-3 citizen in Nigeria.

A candidate from Bachama Tribe of less than a Million People can contest on the platform of a major party and win.

If Tribe is all that's needed, then some tribes have no hope of becoming President, Vice President, Senate President, Chief Judge or anything in the next 100 years.

cosef:
If Sagay and yorubas are sincere and really want southern presidency, let them campaign vigorously for both parties to zone their tickets to the South east. If it is impossible to do so, then they have no right to complain about power staying in the north.

The greed of yoruba and their desperation to ensure the political emasculation of East will keep power in the North.

There is no two ways about it, yorubas have taken their slot as president and should wait for others to take their turn.

Zoning means "turn by turn" , if the yorubas have sworn to be greedy then it is justifiable to keep it in the North.

NYSC certificate is an addendum and not a requisite certificate for holding political offices (either elective or appointed) and examples abound;

Senator Bola Tinubu

Dr Bukola Saraki

Dr Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala

Hon Razak Atuwa (Ex-Speaker KSHA, Ex-Member of HOR and PDP Governorship candidate in 2019)

Alh Adebayo (Ex Minister of Communication)

Femi Fani-Kayode

Godfrey Onyeama

All the above didn't partake in NYSC and didn't present any NYSC certificates

The party has a right to exclude persons they consider liabilities or disloyal members from their primaries. They can even expel him from the party.

The courts can NOT force an association or a political party to love, support and accept a particular candidate as their member.
