There are more Yorubas in Kano than all these places. There are substantial Yorubas in Jos and Borno State

leaculpa:
I have been to many states. The only states I've seen a sizeable number of Yorubas outside of their indigenous states are:

Kaduna
Abuja
Niger
Edo

We are not loud & tend to integrate, so it might not be so obvious at first glance. We definitely don't mass migrate to other regions though.
PoliticsRe: Why Is The Hate For Tinubu So Much by oyatz(m): 7:25am On Jun 28, 2020
The most appropriate thing for those who don't like his presidential ambition is to contest against him or support a candidate that they think are better than him.

This is how it is done in advanced democracies.

The whole debates about the 2023 should not be centred on a private citizen but should be used to discuss the problems facing the country and how to find solutions to them.

Esseite:
Nobody hates Tinubu, why do people keep feeling some people hate Tinubu?... he has been in charge of Lagos for 21years, has anyone disturbed that?... nope...

He is gunning for the centre directly and indirectly which involves everyone else and some people dont subscribe to his leadership style... simple.
PoliticsRe: How 2023 Presidency, bad temper ruined Oshiomhole –Oyegun by oyatz(m): 7:18am On Jun 28, 2020
Why are you fixed on Tinubu and Igbos sir?

Tinubu running for an election is NOT mutually exclusive to whatever political agenda Igbos want to pursue.

We need to try some many things in this country. These will define our democratic culture.

In a democray, it's not compulsory or even feasible that everybody support a candidate.

Trying to frustrate a private citizen from running for the Presidency of his country have grave consequences.

Again, I ask you this question:
Why are you not advising Atiku Abubakar to withdraw from the presidential race, campaign for a SE candidate and restructuring or these noble advices are only good for Tinubu?

OfoIgbo:
You well know a SE president will pursue restructuring more aggressively than GEJ and OBJ put together.

Anyway, Tinubu can go seek partnership with the north to help him realize his presidential ambitions. I do know the SE/SS alliance will never partner with him for that.

If Tinubu emerges as the presidential candidate of APC, Igbos will support a northerner in PDP.
If Tinubu emerges as the presidential candidate of another party, other than the APC, Igbos will present their own candidate in PDP.
PoliticsRe: Tinubu Got Into Trouble By Referring To Himself As APC National Leader – George by oyatz(m): 11:29pm On Jun 27, 2020
I know it and I have been waiting for PA Bode George to issue his own report on Tinubu.

He is a constitent expert on Tinubu Affairs.

hisexcellency34:
Temidayo Akinsuyi, Lagos

Chief Olabode George, a former Deputy National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Saturday said the latest ordeal of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, former Lagos state governor in the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) did not come to him as a surprise.

Speaking in a chat with Daily Independent, George said Tinubu’s problem began when he started laying claim to being the ‘national leader’ of the party even though he occupies no elective position.

George, who is the Atona Oodua of Yorubaland argued that in a presidential system of government, the President is the national leader in a ruling political party and not any individual, no matter how highly placed.

“From the very beginning, I used to tell them that the party APC is a congregation of strange bedfellows. When you have a big party like that and someone wants to hijack it, there will be problem”.

“First of all, it is a misnomer in a presidential system for a man who is not elected into any position to come out and say he is the National leader of the party”.

“How is that possible? There is only one National leader of the party and that is the President. How can a ragamuffin from somewhere just wake up and say he is the National leader and not the President? What does that mean?” he asked.

We don't exist for today alone but for posterity.

The fear of POSSIBLE failures should not be a deterant of taking a decisive action.

The determination of the Late MKO Abiola to run to the Presidency and stood his ground till the very end changed the polical course of Nigeria.

The decision of Tinubu to contest for the presidential election regardless of the outcome will inspire future generations that they too can aspire for the highest office in the land irrespective of what any cabal wish or think and they will eventually succeed.

By the way, why are you not advicing Atiku Abubakar to withdraw from the race, clamour for a SE candidate and support restructuring or all these noble advices are only good for Tinubu?

OfoIgbo:
In that case, he can run. But he has already lost Abiola's northern votes you guys were banking on.

He will have to depend on Yoruba votes solely
PoliticsRe: How 2023 Presidency, bad temper ruined Oshiomhole –Oyegun by oyatz(m): 7:19pm On Jun 27, 2020
If were Tinubu, i will run for the Presidency in 2023 and damn ANY consequences (death, defeat or imprisonment).

Certain things need to happen to deepen the democratic culture of Nigeria and to see if we truly want a country where there's equality of citizenship

ANY citizen of Nigeria aspiring to the high should not be cowed.

OfoIgbo:
At least we are in agreement with the bolded point. grin grin

Anyway, jokes apart. I mentioned in my previous writeup that Tinubu and his people have to rebuild.
Maybe I have to spell out what I mean by this, but bear in mind REBUILDING can take different forms. It doesn't have to conform with my own way.

But let me put myself in Tinubu's shoes and suggest a few things he can do.
1. I will totally forget about being Nigeria's president (not in 2023 anyway)
2. To get into this sort of planning, you must eschew any form of greed. Just keep your eyes on the bigger picture and bigger goal, whatever it is
3. I will assess my strengths and weaknesses following the state of play, and come up with ways of morphing my weaknesses into strengths

Tinubu's major weakness is that he wishes to be Nigeria's president in 2023 at all cost.
Another of Tinubu's major weakness is that the SE and SS are not happy with the role he played in 2015
A minor weakness is that he is being perceived as a godfather, and SS and SE people loath godfathers. All his Iyaloja and Babaloja moves in Lagos are rubbing Igbos the wrong way in Lagos, and it is being unconsciously fed to the public, that that is his way, and he is bound to introduce that brand of politics in Nigeria, if he were to become the president.

The reality on ground is that the SE and SS will never vote for him, because his record has been entirely anti SE/SS, from opposing the GEJ presidency, using his media and his wealth, to undermining the effort of Igbos to cast their votes in Lagos state, to his babaloja/Iyaloja things in Lagos markets e.t.c.

As Reno Omokri rightly described the situation, Tinubu's hand is caught in a trap and all he has to do to free himself from this trap is to release whatever goodies he may think, is hidden inside the coconut shell. Tinubu has to abandon his quest for the presidency, or he will perpetually remain trapped, and they will perpetually toy with him, along with his SW people.

If I were Tinubu, I will still remain in APC, even though his power and reach are much reduced at the moment. But the reality is that his group is still the second most powerful group in APC, albeit whittled down. APC is still the ruling party. He mustn't forget that. But he can start to build new alliances within APC. The SE/SS alliance within APC is not that strong, but he can start from that. He can reach out to the middlebelt also. His alliance can start championing the SE presidency option, and restructuring.

From within APC, this alliance can start reaching out to like-minded blocs, such as the SE/SS alliance within PDP, the middlebelt crew within PDP and other progressives, that are pro-restructuring and feel it is the turn of the SE to produce the president.

The above will give him the moral high ground and make him near untouchable, after all he will still be a member of APC, and EFCC will be a little reluctant going after him, and will force the hand of APC to look for a SE candidate. Remember the international community will be observing proceedings and will be judging situations. The international community is far likely to support a move meant to usher in fairness, and if he is seen as one of the arrowheads of such a move, this will improve his international clout also.

But if you coneheads, still want to encourage him to take the slot that duly belongs to the SE, you will be forcing his hand deeper into the trap, and further making him, and the SW irrelevant in the scheme of things. Mark my words

PoliticsRe: List Top 5 South East Politician To Take APC Presidential Ticket 2023 by oyatz(m): 4:09pm On Jun 27, 2020
I don't understand your point sir.

However, you need to understand certain things;

1) No two elections are exactly alike.

2) The emergence of the APC in 2013 has created a strong Two-party system such that certain precedents in a one part system may be difficult to repeat.
For instance, it will be very difficult to impose a presidential candidate in the APC, it will cause discords that may leads to defeat at the pools because there is another strong party waiting to reap from the crisis.

3) The Best way to avoid fracturing the party is to organize a free and fair primary election to elect their flag bearer.

Any aspirant that now loses in this contest will not feel cheated and the party can go into the election as a United house.

You have taken time to write a lengthy post about what you have said several times but didn't answer my question.

Now let me ask you again;

We have agreed that Tinubu is a bad person (possibly the cause of all the problems in Nigeria).

Now that he has been removed, what is next? Or what is the way forward sir?

OfoIgbo:
First of all, I am sure you know it wasn't Igbos that whittled down Tinubu's power and reach in APC. It was his political partners up north.
He did not learn from Ken Saro Wiwa or Adaka Boro or Abiola or Awolowo.

Look at the SE today. The SE is in a political alliance with the SS, and it is waxing strong and showing no sign of degrading. Yeah, everyone denigrated the Igbos for being on the loosing side after the 2015 general election, but today now that the dust is settling, did the SE or SS really loose? The simple answer is that they did not loose.

Today we have a somewhat dependable ally, and the SS political class can also boast of the same. Now the so-called victors of 2015 are no longer feeling quite victorious.

Buhari's people did what they did to Tinubu because they know that the SW is totally alone, and their actions of the past few days have proven how alone and lonely the SW political game really is.

You should also know that Buhari's people did what they did because they are aware of the presence of a much stronger and vibrant southern group i.e the SE/SS alliance. This southern group is far stronger than Tinubu's contraption, controlling about 10 states. Secondly this other southern group has the moral authority to seek the presidency of Nigeria to an extent that far outweighs the SW claim.
Tinubu left the SW totally exposed because of his greed, and people of good conscience have been shouting themselves hoarse for Tinubu to support a SE presidency come 2023, and all these fell on deaf ears.

Can you imagine how impossible it would have been for Buhari to do what he did two days ago, if Tinubu had endorsed the idea of a SE president, like two weeks ago.
Buhari would have been seeing fire right now, as such an action would have been seen as undermining the entire south, and an action meant to deny the south in general (but SE in particular) the presidency.

But what was done was done, without a whimper from the SE and SS, thus the SW is totally alone now, and about to loose this fight hopelessly in a way that will embolden Fulanis to commit more acts of humiliation against the SW. That is usually their way.

All that Tinubu and his political machinery can do now is to rebuild. Even if he were to endorse a SE candidate for APC or a northern candidate for PDP, it will no longer have the power it would have had, if he did it when he was still in control of influential organs of the APC. He has lost that, and any moves he now makes will seem like yet another ploy by him to insert himself in the presidency. He will be viewed with suspicion.

You don't still get the point sir, it's not Tinubu's loss that matters but Nigeria's loss.

The country is not going to get the best by majoring in minor.
Why leaving the major matters in the land that should be thoroughly discussed, assessed and reassessed and concentrate solely on a private citizen for daring to aspire for the Presidency for his Country.

In advanced democracies, people concentrate on issues.

Tinubu is a Nigerian citizen, if I were him I will continue to aspire for the Presidency of my country and pursue it to a logical conclusion damning any consequences.

Okay, we have heard and believe all you have said.

After Tinubu has been removed, what next?

OfoIgbo:
That is fair.

If the APC won't zone their presidential ticket to the SE, then zoning is dead. The SW can't do the slot of the SE. Any region can go for it. Don't be fooled by all this southern turn crap. It is the SE turn, failing which zoning is dead.

But also bear in mind that in 1999, the SW was not strong at all in PDP, yet OBJ was chosen, in spite of the fact that SW had no major presence in PDP. In fact at the moment, an Igbo state is APC, so basically there is more Igbo presence in APC, than there was Yoruba presence in PDP, yet OBJ was still chosen.

If the APC powers that be, choose to give the flimsy reason that the SE doesn't have a strong presence in APC as an excuse to deny the SE a chance, then zoning is well and truly dead.

We will also not forget the part that Tinubu played in killing zoning in APC. All this while, he could have insisted on the presidency going to the SE, just the same way a huge chunk of non-Yoruba PDP chieftains supported the notion of a SW president in 1999.
Tinubu's greed may well cost the south the presidency, but we will wait and see. Thank God a sizeable chunk of Igbos are insisting on Biafra. Igbos have options. Something will definitely give

After any election, they start fighting, then go to sleep and only come back few months before another election.
