Jobs/VacanciesRe: Firm Seeks To Recruit A Lawyer For 25k Monthly Salary by oyatz(m): 7:52am On Jun 03, 2020
The Nigerian Bar Association should do something about it.

They are reducing the prestige and honour of this Noble Profession.

But let me give you a personal advice,

1) Start Estate Management course e.g with Nigerian Institute of Estate Surveyorsb and make sure you become a charterred Estate Surveyor & Valuer

2) Relocate from Benin City to Kwara or Osun State where the Legal Practice is not as saturated as that of Benin

3) Start practice Property Law +Estate Survey & Valuation.

4) Street Credibility: Join a political party, Join Elites Club, be active in church, Community Development Associations and NBA , do probuno cases etc

5) Thank me later

It is so heart breaking. huh

Is he soliciting for sexual clients abi why all these postures online.

Payment of School Fees contribute to IGR sir.

1) There are 967 Public Secondary Schools in Oyo State.

If we assume a modest number of 350,000 students in all these schools, each of whom is to pay #3000 as school fees per term.

#300* 350,000= #1.05 Billion per Term.

2) There are 3 Terms in one academic year,so total schools fees will now be,

#3* #1.05 Billion= #3.15 Billion.

Any State that sees extra #3.15 Billion to it's coffer will feel the impact.

hargbolahan01:
payment of school fees is different from IGR and doesn't add up

they pay the school fees to help govt and reduce the burden of govt about school funding

many governors like Makinde pay school grants to provide free education while he doesn't pay their WAEC fees while other states like Lagos pays WAEC fees for their student

they all just trying to reduce burden of school funding and also give electorate benefit of their govt at the same time

Women sexuality is different from men's sexuality.

A woman may be truly raped but sometimes during the course of the intercourse, her body may start responding positively to the sexual act. She may even decide to start enjoying the sex because there is no alternative or any way to avoid it.

Some women can even fall in love with their rapists and they later start having regular consentual sex.

Yes , some women have even married their rapists!

Bros, I now understand why you don't understand this simple matter.

1) The 13% Derivative from crude oil is added to their Federal allocations. It is not part of IGR.

2) You wrongly assume that only taxes deducted from the Salaries of civil servants constitute IGR.

3) It seems you think that Gov Yahyah Bello and civil servants are the only people in Kogi State.

4) There are many other people besides Civil Servants living and carrying out economic activities in Kogi State.

For instance, Okene and Lokoja are important transit towns for travelers coming from the S/West to Abuja/core North with economic implications e.g the number of Hotels and Petrol Stations in these two cities are more than all the Hotels in Bayelsa.

A significant number of Long distant Luxury buses like Ifesinachi, ABC, New Tarzan, Young Shall grow have Stations in Lokojo where they stop. These Transport companies also have economic impact on the Town.

Agricultural produce like Yams and Fishes are also produced in the State for Abuja markets, all of which attract some taxes on daily basis.

People from neighbouring States go to Lokoja to board buses going to Abuja/Kaduna/Kano. All these buses pay Hackney permits to the State Government.

What of Tenement rates for buildings in the State? Registration and licensing of private hospitals and private schools?

Kogi's strategic location and Resources is even under utilized.

Kogi has larger Landmass and larger population than Bayelsa, significant factors that can determine IGR.

Bayelsa is a smaller State ( and very swampy) with no significant industries or major agricultural output or population. Most of her crude oil exploration is often done offshore.

olisaEze:
when u hear Bayelsa State is owing salaries as it is in the media, it refers to Local government workers and not d whole state. And that has to do with d habit of State Governors appropriating LG funds to pursue election issues. Thankfully, PMB has moved to stop that madness. However, that still doesn’t explain how a Kogi State has an IGR above an Oil producing state like Bayelsa. Do explain what Kogi has done to produce such a wonderful miracle. The issue of tax whether outsourced or not is a no brainer as it is deducted from civil servants from source through the PAYE system. How many companies dey d Kogi compared to Bayelsa na? Including a 13% derivative that is also accrued to Bayelsa’s IGR as an Oil producing state which Kogi does not enjoy currently.

PoliticsRe: Shocking State IGR Reports Contrary To Popular Belief. by oyatz(m): 3:51pm On Jun 02, 2020
I just told you how IGR is derived.

Each State has it's own areas of interest based on it's peculiarities and styles of administration of their Governors.

Some Governors have really tried to block loopholes in revenues leakages/wastages while some Governors reversed the tax policies of their predecessors to win favours of their electorates e.g Gov Seyi Makinde who abolished payment of School Fees in Oyo State.

Where were you when the FG released bailouts to States Governments and the States refused to pay their workers?

Ask any random 3-5 civil servants in Ekiti State when Ex-Governor Ayo Fayose declared that Bailouts fund wasn't for payment of civil servants alone.

Even before and after the recession, many States Governments were and are still oweing salaries. Was it because there was no 'money'?

Why is a small and an oil producing State like Bayelsa State oweing Salaries?

I have explained in my earlier post that States Governments policies on Taxation and methods of collecting Taxes varies from States to States and this affect IGR.

Some States still rely on their civil servants (who will pocket a large chunk of the taxes) to collect their taxes, while some States have outsourced the collection of taxes to private firms e.g Osun State, Lagos State

Some States have their own Single Treasury Accounts (TSA) and use Remitta to track every payment to the nearest Kobo.

olisaEze:
So the IGR is determined by scale of preference abi the salaries of workers are low on the scale of preference of Kogi state? What is the IGR of Kogi State used for that workers livelihoods are unimportant next to? Or are u saying that d sole aim of federal allocation is for salaries?
It’d be nice for u to explain how a state that contributes monumentally to the survival of this nation can be so low on this list ahead of states that depend on largesse from the FG to pay its workers! Abi is it spirits that are working to generate the IGR?
PoliticsRe: Shocking State IGR Reports Contrary To Popular Belief. by oyatz(m): 3:24pm On Jun 02, 2020
For which year sir.

Economic reccession occur largely due to mismanagement or unforeseen economic distasters, it is NOT a permanent feature of any State or Country.

Economy of each State/Country is NOT static but changes with time. For instance, 1986 was a year of economic distaster in Nigeria due to implementation of the Structural Adjustment Programme (SAP) recommended by the IMF which crippled the economy when the Naira was massively devalued but we bounced back and recorded economic growth in 1991 due to oil windfall and effects of the Gulf war-1.

Many of you don't understand how State Governments operate in Nigeria or have good understandings of economics.

1) Revenues accrued into the State coffers are NOT the sole determining factors in the payment of salaries.

Bayelsa State, an oil producing State has a larger Federal allocations than Kebbi ,yet Bayelsa still owes Salaries while Kebbi doesn't owe salaries.

2) A Lecturer earning #500,000 salary in Lagos can still be oweing house rents while a security guard in the same University earning #70,000 per month may not be oweing may not be owing house rents.

There are professors earning fat salaries in UI that haven't built their own houses and are in debts while their office messangers, receptionists/typists/ drivers are living in their own houses in Ibadan.

What makes the difference- scale of preferences.

IGR is taxes/levies/rents/dividends collected by the States Government.

Poverty index deals with individuals NOT their State Governments.

Some States get profits from their investments in banks, qouated companies and real Estates that may not necessarily be domiciled within their territories.

A State that has 5 heavy industries can generate some taxes from such industries. However this doesn't necessarily affect the masses in that State who are living from hands to mouth.

Also, apart from the populace and industries in the States, methods of tax collections varies from States.

Some States still rely on old fashioned 'Boards of Internal Revenues' manned by corrupt civil servants to collect their taxes.

These civil servants for instance can register 20 vehicles for renewal of license or collect levies for building plans from 20 prospective landlords in a week but they will declare that they register only 8 vehicles/buildings and pocket the rest.

Some States make use of Private Tax Collecting and Management Firms like AlphaBeta, Olusola Adekanola etc. These firms can pay Governments upfront and they use modern means to recoup their money and extra money which form their profits.

Tinubu's firm, AlphaBeta is good in this area and many States employ them to collect their taxes.

Park well Bros, political parties account for 70% of the factors needed to win a Presidential election. . . it's the parties that contest and win elections.

1) On the ballot paper, you don't see names of candidates but names &logos of political parties.

2) Just name one instance where the political party that win the highest numbers of State Governorship and Senatorial seats fail to win the presidential election in an election year.

Politicians go to the polls to secure a mandate for their parties to rule.

3) If you think APC House of Reps, Senatorial and Governorship candidates in the 'North' will be working for their Presidential candidate to be defeated so that their opponent in the PDP can come to power , then you don't know how party Politics work

The reason why two people come together is not because of the sex organs alone. Logic is extremely far from this notion.

If that be the case, then gay men will mast-urbate and so will gay women. Lesbians will not need a partner as they have their own fingers and toys. With the development of fleshlite and recent sex dolls revolution, how has that stopped men from seeking out women?

It is highly jejune to see sex between a man and a woman as just the introduction of one sex organ another or the manipulation of sex organs by another person. There are many other benefits of homosexual and heterosexual relationships and sex is simply what consolidates these benefits. Sexual expression is what makes it special. You can show all the love and all the care and attention to your spouse, but when it cannot be fully expressed by sex/love making there is always a void. Ask people who have had their partners incapacitated sexually due to various reasons. They will tell you that while the affection there, they miss the expression of these feelings with their partners. They miss the physical expression. In the same way,ask partners who resorted to masturbation because their partners denied them sex. They will also tell you that masturbation after a while, did not give them the pleasure of being with another human.

Inanimate objects (equipment and toys) can never give the experience of communicating and interacting with another human being.

The importance of a partner goes beyond the sex organ they carry or wield.

Bros, which one is TRIBAL votes?

Must all members of a tribe vote for a particular party?

PDP won in Oyo and Ondo States, so which tribes voted for PDP in both States?

By the way, how do you determine the tribes of voters?

There are more Igbos in Kano and Kaduna States than Ondo State, why didn't they swing the pendulum of victory to the PDP sir?

There are more Igbos in Enugu and Abia States than Ondo &Oyo States.

PDP votes in the 2019 presidential election:

1) Abia State= 219,000, Ondo State= 275,000

2) Enugu State= 355,000, Oyo State= 366,000

Even if you don't tell yourselves the truth, the truth will still remain the truth.

. . .So kiss the truth

WeneDiali:
You are talking of regional votes not tribal votes. The SE and SS are scattered all over Nigeria and also make up a good chunk of SW voters. That's why your politicians wear Isiagu and Igbo red caps on political posters when constesting in your land to appeal to Ibo and SS votes in the SW and the north. They are not fools.

Atiku also performed creditably well with Peter Obi as running mate. A SW deputy will destroy PDP and they know it. So it is a no-go area. PDP was the only party that ensured the SW has tasted presidency, yet you insult the party and have done everything to destroy it, so that you can make APC the sole party and take another turn at the presidency. PDP has tried for you and does not owe the SW anymore. So a SW VP is not feasible in PDP

But with the support of North, SE and SS, PDP has continue to survive. SW cannot reap where you did not sow (your own words to the SE and SS).

You will have to pick your towel where you took your bath.

The poverty index has nothing to do with what you are saying.

Even if you remove Lagos from the S/West, two other S/Western States are still within the first ten States.

The poverty index is highest in the N/West, followed by N/E, followed by the NC, then S/E, then SS and then SW.

Instead of you guys to properly study the Statistics, you are fixated with unnecessarily contest with the S/West.

Even people from other parts of Nigeria don't dispute these Statistics except people from the S/E.

If you doubt the accuracy of the Statistics, then publish your own that you think is correct based on standardized methods.

rdokoye:
Most of the money generated in Lagos comes from multinationals, MDAs, public sector and PAYE (which you pointed out). The fact that PAYE is relatively low, is irrelevant in the case of Lagos.

IGR doesn't mean anything. The sustainability of the state is determined by its expenditure to income, but state development is determined by the private sector. That's how all nations develop to first world status. Not from government initiatives, but from people initiatives.

That's why poverty is heavily correlated with education. Humans need education to setup businesses. Igbo people are the most educated, that's why you'll find, in Igboland, indigenous industries, manufacturing cars, plastics, foodstuff, computers, clothes etc... You won't find people in Sokoto manufacturing cars; simply because the populace lacks the knowhow.

Likewise in SW, you won't find the equivalent of Zinox anywhere in that land.

Let's keep it to the SW, excluding Lagos, which has nothing whatsoever to do the with SW.

Bros ,I don't think you fully understand the concepts.

1) Poverty rates measures the percentage of ALL the people in each State living below a predetermined benchmark, it doesn't measure the percentage of wealthy people.

2) Low poverty rate in a State does NOT mean the State has high percentage of wealthy people.

3) Wealth is NOT the direct opposite of poverty on this scale as there are many stages in between the two extremes.

A resident of Kogi State above the poverty line doesn't mean he is wealthy.

4) States and NOT necessarily tribes are the research areas.
