This kind of thread is often deficit in intelligence but surplus in tribalism. 1) Every Geo-Political zones have lands and a farming population which produce certain Agricultural produce e.g Cassava, Maize,Igwu, Palm oil in the S/East. Yam, Vegetables, Kolanuts, Oranges, Mangoes, Poultry products,Timber from the S/West. Groundnuts, cotton, Beaf, Soya beans,Maize, Beans, Nigerian rice from the NW 2) The volume of Agricultural produce in all the zones are not the same and some invest more in Agriculture than others. 3) Since we are ONE Country, we have become inter-dependent in ways that look like division of labour. E.g Our traders and Pharmaceutical distributors are more from the S/East. Our Herdsmen, Mai-Suya and Bureau-de-change operators are more from the N/West and N/East. Our Artisans like Printers, Mechanics &builders ,Carpenters, office administrators/workers, Poultry farmers, Cocoa Farmers and Kolanuts farmers are more from the S/West. Blue3k: These thread always turn stupid. I tried researching Nigeria agricultural output but I can't find reliable data. I have my suspicions about northern agricultural productivity. If I ever find reliable data I'll do topic justice. |

You are a very intelligent and patriotic Nwanfor who believes that the industrialization drive of the Alaigbo can not commence fully untill perfect conditions are met. . . . Let's just say you believe that the full industrialization of Alaigbo will take place after the second coming of Jesus Christ to start the millennial reign when all evils will be banned. Armaggedon: This is pure wishful thinking. What is the price of an average innoson saloon car? compare it with the price of an imported Toyota saloon car talk more of the price in their home country. No power, no steal complex etc how does he even grow to produce engine itself? don't you know there are some components you can't manufacture with a generating set and he has to import them, skyrocketing his production cost. Despite his remarkable improvement, If there is no infrastructure his vehicle prices won't come down and if it remains that way, his growth is doubtful. It's not enough to establish business if the environment is not sustainable. Relocate IVM to south Africa and see wonders.
How is glo doing? As far as I'm concerned it is dead. politicians' loots is what sustaining it.
Bring Biafra, fix power, fix electoral system and tackle corruption. Less loot flying around means that hardwork, creativity are the only ways to be wealthy and achieve success. when politics become less lucrative, criminals are discouraged from it and genuine people are encouraged to pilot the system. When majority see business and production as the means to wealth, there will be massive, genuine and more effective demand for better business environment. No more politics of Fulani marginalisation or Yoruba jealousy or divided loyalty from our politicians. |

For instance, I know of a young lady who through dint of hardwork started as a teacher in a private school in 1990 but by 2020 has built groups of private schools which provide quality and affordable education to generartion of students in her environment. Many of you guys on Nairaland are just unnecessarily embittered. 1) All over the World, it is the ELITES that rule. 2) The Elites have playgrounds- Schools, Business or Ceremonies where they and/or their children meet. 3) When children from different backgrounds meet in elitist schools and graduate together, they usually have greater opportunities to work in reputable companies/organizations which can give them superb exposure and experience which in turn give them better chances of being considered for leadership positions than others. 4) In the US, most citizens who eventually become Governors, Senators and Presidents attended schools together at Yale, Princeton, MIT and Harvard Universities. 6) In the UK, most of the members of the House of Lords and Prime Ministers were groomed in Easton College, London School of Economics, Imperial College, Oxford and Cambridge Universities. 7) In Nigeria, some of the students who attended King's College, Lagos, Government College, Ibadan, Barewa College, Zaria , University of Ibadan and Ahmadu Bello University between 1960-1985 became Perm-Sec, VCs, Ambassadors, Top Military brass, Director-Generals, Senators, Governors and President. The Elites in Nigieria are actually like one big extended family which are interconnected and sometimes interrelated across party, religion or tribal lines. ZombiePUNISHER: Shut up there

Politics › Re: Real Date Of Birth Of Late Abba Kyari Who Worked From Abroad Has Been Uncovered by oyatz(m): 3:11pm On Apr 19, 2020 |
The Abba Kyari that was born in 1938 was Obasanjo's colleague during the civil war and was even a Military Governor of North Eastern State till 1975. Among the Kanuris, the name ABBA means father, usually given to a child that was named after his father/grandfather. It's similar to calling a child BABAtunde or BABAjide in Yorubaland. Kyari is the name of their town. Many Northerners born before 1960 adopted the names of their towns as surnames e.g Shagari, Yar'Adua (a place in Katsina town) etc. So Abba Kyari simply means Abba from the town of Kyari. There are many Abbas from Kyari that are not related. Amotolongbo: He should be within that range, since Femi Fani-Kayode called him his friend. He wouldn’t have called him his friend if Kyari was born in 1938 |

Although I pray that their marriage solidify and not crumble, however she shouldn't be deceived that the cheating guy will marry her if her husband divorce her. He will only fvck her for 3-6 months and get bored and there after other men will start fvcking the hell out of her like tommorow no dey. She will miss the present financial roles being played by her husband. She will most likely need other men to play that roles and trust men...they won't do it for free. It's difficult for most of the young eligible bachelors to legally marry a single mother who was divorced by her former husband on account of adultery. There are so many younger ladies out there looking for guys to marry them. Divorce more often than not put the women in disadvantaged positions. grossintel: I didn't say it was he's duity alone, you don't just quit your marriage over a chat, when you clam down and think about it, it won't make any sense. That guy could be someone who liked her and didn't make any move because of financial difficulty. She might just be using him to kill boredom with no real intentions to ever meet him. I have a lot of them on my phone but I know it's never going to happen. If he chooses to quit the marriage over this please he should do so she can marry the guy who has her time, everything is not about money. If he wants to work it out and fix those loope holes in he's marriage it's still he's choice. |

Sometimes I laugh whenever I see feminists subtly giving approval for married women to cheat. Married women who have spent 50 years in marriage will tell you that even in a contest of adultery between couples, the cheating wife almost always lose in the long run. They only invest their emotions, time, energy and resources to satisfy their adulterous partners who will NEVER treat them like wives and will after 2-3 years dump them for younger ladies. Most women who cheat sometimes cry secretly because of it. blovesther: hmmmmm and please don't be polygamous especially if your tradition doesn't go against it for women. if you want your wife to be an angel, you should first create an heaven |

Too much confabulation. Is this topic 'Yoruba Muslims trending' about 'Igbos ,cival war or GEJ'? Must every discussion on Nairaland be about 'Igbos and the civil war, GEJ and the 2015 election'? selemempe: every body in Nigeria knows the Igbos went to war In order not to be part of Nigeria. Nationalism is highest in the east and if not for fear of another round of genocide, our leaders (who fought as child soldiers in 1967) would have officially backed Biafra. Has this simple fact and the IPOB movement ever made the Hausa and yoruba controlled FG to ask Igbos if they want to be a part of Nigeria or not? When GEJ attempted to do that with the 2014 confabulation, was the northern leaders of thought not shouting that unity of Nigeria is non negotiable? Did el rufai not popularly say that GEJ was like a mad man with a lighter at a petrol station? Was war not threatened if GEJ should go ahead and include break up in the confab topics? How did Nigeria accept to live together?
Now to your insinuation that The United States, The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Malaysia, Indonesia, Spain, Ethiopia,South Africa,France,China... Let me ask you....is there any country there in that list that has a near 50-50 Christian/Muslim population? All those countries are either majority (85%) Christian or Muslim or traditional believes. That is what makes Nigeria a very complex country. There is no dominant culture...just a bunch of cultures fighting for dominance. Apart from Ethiopia and south Africa which are both not great countries, every other countries there have a national language, culture, identity and orientation. If two Nigerians from east and west meet abroad, they will be speaking English. We have no nation. What we have is a geographic location.
If GEJ was allowed to Carry out his mission in the confab, then we will know how many ethnic groups or regions in Nigeria want to remain in Nigeria. For now, we are under neo colonialism and that is why Nigeria will NEVER be a great country |
