How old are you and what's your level of education sir?

What percentage of Nigerians have bank accounts or deposit money into bank accounts?

So when in 2013, when Nigeria was rated to have the largest economy in Africa, this was done by using Bank deposits as a yardstick?

Is this your (Bank deposits) index according to the World Bank, IMF or London School of Economics?

So any Nigerian who hasn't done any transaction with banks since May-1 hasn't done any economic activities?

What's the GNI per capital of Anambra State sef?

Anambralstson:
The stated clearly that bank credit /deposit in each state may be used as an indicator of the level of economic activity and wellbeing of operators (households and businesses) in a particular state

Bros forget it, nothing special in Anambra State.

The 2018 Human Development Index for Nigeria was 0.511 while the 2018 HDI for Anambra State was 0.471 and it was below the National average.

Source: "National Human Development Report 2018"

Nigeria is a backward country but trying to claim that Igbos are superior tribe economically (or in any aspect) is all bladerdash.

So if GDP doesn't measure the size of the economy, what does GDP measure?

It is verifiable that Kano State has higher GDP, Budget and IGR than Anambra and you are still arguing with beer parlour talks of Markets and industries.

Anambralstson:
Otondo GDP doesn't measure economy, can you provide recent GDP of Nigeria at least from two to three years ago. Anambra host more industries, Markets than Kano last banks financial reports Kano was far below Anambra.

Point of corrections

1) OIL IS NOT BY ANY COMMUNITY.
Oil is found on certain lands and extracted by oil companies for refining into finished products.

2) In Ondo State, oil is being extracted on Ilaje lands and NOT Ijaw land.

Anambralstson:
Even oil producing communities in Ondo are Ijaw

The GDP of Kano is greater than that of Anambra.

Kano State's budget and IGR are also greater than Anambra.

Thanks Bede2u for putting your points forward in an intelligent manner, devoid of ethnic bashing and promoting intellectual discussion.

Bede2u:
Analysis

Though landlocked and densely populated, Rwanda is a developing country that has undergone rapid industrialisation thanks to successful government policy. Since the early-2000s, Rwanda has witnessed an economic boom improving the living standards of many Rwandans. The Government’s progressive visions have been the catalyst for the fast transforming economy. The President of Rwanda, Paul Kagame, has noted his ambition to make Rwanda the "Singapore of Africa".

Bounded by the Atlantic ocean and having large deposits of hydro carbon, glass and silica sand, Rivers state is one of the most naturally endowed parts of Africa. It produces 50% of Nigeria's crude oil. However from the statistics above, it is clear that life in this very beautiful part of Africa is not better than life in Rwanda which has very little natural resources and land.

It shows again why seperatism in Nigeria is not a bad politics. Nigeria is too large and diverse to cordinate and develope a modern society. Ethnic tensions and religious intolerance contributes to keep the beautiful people of Nigeria down.

The South East of Nigeria which has clamoured for Biafra for years are always reminded that they are landlocked and with little oil. But here is Rwanda, a landlocked African Nation without resources (except its beautiful people) that survived a brutal genocide, gradually draging itself out of poverty without oil.

Think on this today.

There is no sea in Igboland, how can a SEAport be built there?

And why do you think the Yorubas have the power to stop the construction of a SEAport in Alaigbo?

The Igbos were very powerful during GEJ administration and also weilded considerable influence during Obasanjo's administration, why didn't you demand for the construction of SEAport in Enugu, Aba, Nnewi or Okigwe?

There is no SEAPORT in Kano State but the State is more economically bouyant than Anambra State.

kunkelhanspeter:
What the Igbos just need is just one standard seaport

You are correct.
Untill recently I ventured into private business, I started seeing Yorubas based in Onitsha, Aba or Enugu but these are very few compared to the Igbos that live in the S/west.

As someone who is very close to the Igbos, I sometimes wonder why this enmity online when in real life, Igbos are the largest numbers of Yoruba's friends/partners.

I know so many friends, colleagues, neighbours that are half Yoruba, half Igbos (they plenty for Kano and Lagos States)

Uptil today, I have only seen 3 Yorubas that speak and understand Igbo language but I can't count the numbers of Igbos that speak or understand Yoruba Language.

And how many Indians, Lebanese or Chinese abandon Beiruts, Mumbai or Shanghai to come and hawk Gala in traffic or work as Prostitutes in Lagos, Abeokuta, Otta, Oyo, Ogbomosho, Ore, Shagamu or Oshogbo?

Igbos are mostly economic migrants, not Technical expertriates.

Not sure where this weird myth comes from about how the SE is deserted. SE people travel around because we're mercantile people and trading entails movement to seek out markets and consumers. Lebanese or Indians or Chinese people aren't flooding Nigeria because Lagos is better than Beirut or Mumbai or New Delhi or Shanghai or Hong Kong. They moved here because they saw markets here for their goods or products.

There are slums and underdeveloped areas in every State/Country so I am more educated than posting silly pictures as basis for comparisons.

There are established indices used in the Academies, Bretton Woods Institutions or UN agencies like Human Development Index (HDI),IGR, GDP, Poverty rates etc.

They don't post highly subjective pictures in UNDP, UNICEF or NBS as yardsticks for comparisons or milestones of development. Badly educated tribal bigots and kids on Nairaland do that.

So compare and constrast these indices in Osun and Anambra, Abia or Imo States. Is that too difficult?

1) Equity doesn't necessarily mean Equality.
It is agianst the principle of equity to be asking to be giving the same thing as everybody.

2) The Geo-political zones are not the federating units.

uchedydy:
So on the alter of landmass and population we are justified to slaughter equity. Have you wondered the amount of development that is denied the south East by virtue of having 5 states.
Consider this: if the "least " state in the country goes home with 2billion naira montly from farc. It means the this amount in development is being the se.
In 1 year...2billion x 12= 24billion naira
In 4 years.. 24billion x 4= 96 billion naira.
96 billion naira direct worth of development denied the se from farc, not to talk of private investments like banks and other foreign agencies that would set up in the state and impact the life of people of th e area.

There are many people in Edo State with Yoruba ancenstries in the same way there are many Yorubas with Edo ancenstries.

In Many States, the ethnic groups may not be easily separated by State boundaries.

It's difficult to tell where Yorubas end and Edo begins.

Romance › Re: She Is Threatening That If My Mum Is Not Locked Up She Will Leave Our Marriage by oyatz(m): 11:10am On May 05, 2019
I think your wife has some inappropriate sense of entitlement.

1) On the LEGAL ASPECT

a) What will be the offence for locking the old woman up? Is it a criminal offence to Barb her granddaughter's hair? Is your daughter harmed in the process?

Where does your wife derives the legal power to lock up anyone that offend her?

b) Your wife committed an offence (Physical assault) to have beaten up your mum. If your mum is educated and wants to cause, she can get her arrested and charged to court for this.

2) On the MORAL ASPECT

a) Your mother was wrong to have shaved the granddaughter's hair without the knowledge and approval of your wife.

b) Marriage is for better or for worse (meaning things may not turn out as we exactly expect), so it's very wrong for your wife to be resorting to emotional blackmail that she will leave the marriage unless your mother is locked up.

If you listen and give in to this devilish demand, one day she will ask for your head on a platter of gold.

My recommendation:

1) Call your Pastor/ Imam to intervene and settle the matter.

2) Let your mother return home (or preferably to one of your sisters or cousins) for a while.

At the initial stage, it was a patriotic movement but by young inexperienced soldiers. It wasn't meant to favour any tribe but Ifeajuna had other plans which I suspect became corrupted by Igbo politicians.

There were at least 3 coups in one going on simultaneously on Jan-15, 1966.

1) The Ifeajuna Coup to exterminate non-igbo Political leaders

2) The Aguiyu-Ironsi's coup to grab power.

3) The very naive and inexperienced Nzeogwu's coup to eliminate bad leaders and put Nigeria on the right pedaster.

Temple1288:
"No. Infact what attracted me to Nzeogwu at the early stage when the coup was being planned was that I asked him if he was going to make himself the Head of State and he said no. He said he was going to bring a civilian who was more knowledgeable and who had what it took to make Nigeria great. I then asked him who that person was and he said the man was in Calabar prison. I said is it Chief Obafemi Awolowo? He said yes. That was why I gave him my support but when he told me it was going to involve killings, I said no I was not interested again."

The ones who knew the truth can tell you it was a coup to favor the Yorubas more.
