another1: I said this for long time. The ignorant of a governor is still insulting pdp instead of him to be looking inward where is problem lies. The PDP took him to court to challenge the legality of taking PDP's mandate in Ebonyi to APC. The Governor can win the hearts of all Nigerians by resigning from office, drop PDP mandate and freely join the APC. The late Governor of Kano, Abubakar Rimi was elected on the platform of the PRP in 1979 but he resigned from the party and resigned as Governor before decamping to another party in 1983. |

omenkaLives: Igbos are just something else. Doesn't it bother them that just about everyone else complains about their attitude?
For over a week, Rant Headquarters have been approving posts about what people think about people from different ethnic groups. People don catch cruise ontop Yorubas, Hausas, Fulanis, Igalas, Tivs, etc. Them yab them tire. Not left out of the yabbing spree and fun were Igbo members of the group.
But as soon as e reach Igbos time, it became a huge war!! They couldn't take even the littlest of innocuous jabs (which was what others endured, and which even they themselves gave others). It was all fun and games with other tribes, but when it got to their own turn, they started attacking anyone with a snide comment about Igbo men or women.
Of course most commentators found this attitude very irritating, and made it known to them. Interestingly, some Igbo members admitted they were ashamed of the attitude of their brothers who took things too personally whereas people were just having fun at their expense, just like they did every other tribe.
Igbos, you guys need to check yourselves. E no make sense anymore. The unwritten negative effects of the civil war and the emergence of IPOB impacted on the psyche of many Igbo youths online to exhibit victimhood at any given time. |

Nigeria have a choice to make the right choice is to give South East the Presidency , it's not much but it will reshape the mind set of majority of our people that Nigeria belong to all of us . Nobody is giving anybody any ticket. Atiku, Saraki Tambuwal etc have been spending time, money and energy on getting PDP presidential ticket , do you think they will just quit the race for Peter Obi who didn't much for the party but sat down in his house demanding to be given the party's ticket just like that? |

Architect Oluyemi Odeinde's and possibly same for the 68 years old Mr Paul Bolton's father, is Architect Olufemi Abayomi Odeinde, who passed away in 1981, due to injuries sustained in a motor accident
Architect Oluyemi Odeinde passed away peacefully in his sleep in the early hours of Thursday March the 18th of 2021 and would have been 62 years old if still alive. He was born on March 25th 1960 and was interred on March 25th 2021. His dad and grandad passed at 59 years old, but he broke that jinx
Mr Paul Bolton, should start with getting the correct spelling of the surname of his father (i.e. Architect Olufemi Abayomi Odeinde) right first, then realise that he has plenty of the Odeindes residing in the UK

It's not about subduing other forms of dressing but it introduces a very obvious division in an organization that ought to be neutral especially in an artificially created heterogeneous country already battling a religious inspired terrorism. Our founding fathers like Ahmadu Bello , Tafawa-Balewa, Azikiwe, Awolowo, Aminu Kano, M.I Okpara and SL Akintola who negotiated our independence settled for religious neutrality and they knew what they were doing. In Britain and the US where such religious garbs are permitted, they already have well entrenched systems that work largely based on merit regardless of religious favouritism/bias. |

gaddafe: I dare you to provide a link to the bill and let's analyse it. The house of Assembly does not have the power to use the word "any means they feel like". Rather states will only generate power with the approved means of generation which will be approved by the federal government. Also that's not even the main issue here as I didn't quote you. Power sector is divided into generation, transmission and distribution. If the house approved state for generating power, it means the federal is still in charge of the other two sections. I bet you didn't know this. Please think we'll next time before quoting me. What really happened was that Electricity was taken from the Exclusive list to the Concurrent list so both the States and the FG can legislate on it, just like Education & Health. |

backbencher: Where do you think your states get money from?
All of them are oil dependent. And all of them will not and cannot be able to survive without oil money.
It's harsh, and it is the truth. That's why there would be war. Or alternatively, short term, all of them charge high taxes on everyone, which could lead to unrest.
We are not in the 1960's anymore, and even if we were, our production won't be enough to sustain our large population. Suppose there is no money from sales of crude oil to Anambra, Ogun, Kwara, Kano, Nasarawa and Ebonyi States, do you think all the people in these States will just die off or what do you mean they can't survive without money from oil? |
Politics › Re: To Those Asking Ipob To Go Through Political Means by oyatz(m): 9:34pm On Feb 28, 2022 |
backbencher: What is restructuting?
Because at the end of the day, most of you shout 'restructruing' thinking that it means South would get more oil money than the North.
Really, in its pure form, restructutring means that the South South gets 80% of the oil money, while the South East gets some 20%. Everyone else fends for themselves. And please don't tell me that the South west can survive, because if it could, it would have long since stopped relying on subventions from Abuja, plus the South west does not have an actively exporting industrial sector.
And even with the South South getting most of the oil money...oil prices are going to fall.
Anyway, that means that most regions are going to be broke, and there would be a big war over resources, which you won't want and you won't like.
Me, I think we should get off oil by
1.Removing subsides on power and petrol
2.This would mean increased investment in both sectors
3.Enough electricity and power to power industries and industrial growth in all states
4.Which would mean increased exports of industrial goods
5.Now we can talk of restructuruing and even secession.
Plus, get the 70% of Nigerians to pay taxes.
Restructurting is just something used by Nigerian politicans to get votes. They know very well it is not possible in reality for now.. And yes, as a Southerner, I know it ain't. And I don't like it. But here we are. Who is supposed to do all these you itemized? |
