This will allow the electorates to have a broad range of choices. Even if a mad man wants to contest, let him be. At the end, the people will choose the best candidate. |

socialmediaman: The writer did their job, warn Nigerians the same way they were warned about Buhari. Oshiomole was once a patriotic Nigerian who led the NLC through many challenging times in the labor industry in the past, then he became Governor, then wanted to become godfather, the very thing he fought against in Edo state.
Tinubu had an alliance that imposed the worst President Nigeria ever had, twice. His sins could’ve been forgiven and seen as a mistake if he had backed out of supporting Buhari again in 2019, but no! He must impose the nightmare on Nigerians again, due to a selfish ambition to become President. Can a particular citizen make somebody to become president? Is Tinubu, a co-founder in APC expected to leave the candidate of his party and support the candidate of the opposition? |

Angelfrost: What ax?!! When did speaking the truth become hate?!!
Personally, I have nothing against Tinubu other than the fact that he was willing to sacrifice the peace, lives, and progress of millions of his own countrymen on the altar of his personal presidential ambitions!
He, more than most, knew that Buhari had absolutely nothing to offer, yet backed him just to have a shot at occupying that position after 8 years! It never crossed his mind the risk of the nation imploding within that time frame. Bros, start campaigning for Omoyele Sowore, Anyim Pius Anyim, Kingsley Moghalu, Yul Edochie, Atiku or Yahayah Bello. Any one of these is free from all the negatives in Tinubu and can take Nigeria to the promise land |

And I will never vote for atiku. Then start campaigning for that Alhaji/Chief/ Senator with higher morality and let the people choose whoever they like. It's very simple. |

You deserve a knock on your coconut head. The presidential election is an ELECTION and an election,by nature is essentially a CONTEST. It's NOT a referendum where voters will vote on whether Tinubu is good or bad. There will be several other people who are putting themselves forward for the electorates to choose them. If Tinubu is not good, there must be another contestant who is good. |

When solving a problem, one of the first things to do is identify the problem. In this case, Tinubu is one major cankerworm. Besides, Nigeria doesn't need an Angel and Tinubu can't be trusted. His desperation made him endorse Buhari twice. We have a lot of Nigerians across ethnic divides who can pilot this nation to greatness. Talking about Tinubu is a no-no So if Tinubu drop out of the presidential race, Nigeria will automatically be piloted to greatness. Cantonese: Thank you for your decent response.
Agreed that democracy thrives on choices. Nobody is restricted or should be restricted in anyway from expressing their democratic rights or aspirations.
I am not advocating for Osibanjo, neither am I a supporter of the failed party, APC, but looking at his pedigree, do you not see him as someone who will make things work?
Nobody stops BAT from contesting, but looking at Adelakun’s comment, where can you find any fault in reality?
At this point for me, we should stop recycling certain old politicians, not just BAT, but others who have held this nation by its jugular and consistently suffocate the citizens.
This nation needs to move forward. We must not elect our leaders out of sentiments. We must elect only people who understand what the words “change” and “next level” mean in the true sense. There are so many things wrong with Adelakun's write-up. The lady merely regurgitated what most haters, enemies and opponents of Tinubu have been recycling online with any iota of intellectual investigations to ascertain the Truths. 1) She alluded that Tinubu's parents and names are shrouded. She ought to tell us who are the real parents of Tinubu and his given name and tell us where crimes have been committed in all these. He who alleges must give proofs 2) She singled Tinubu, who is not holding any office, out to receive all the blames of the Buhari Administration. She didn't even blame Buhari for his shortcomings. Now, can Tinubu single handedly make Buhari or anyone president? Why has she not blamed other people in the party for the failures of Buhari? 3) Tinubu was Governor between 1999-2007 but Abimbola somehow feel he is still to blamed for whatever is wrong in Lagos. In a way, quite unlike her cerebral past, she blamed Tinubu for Lagos not being like Singapore. How can Lagos, a State in Nigeria be on the same pedestal with a sovereign Nation like Singapore? Can Lagos develop in Isolation while the rest of Nigeria are backward? The development of Lagos can only be relative to the development of Nigeria as a whole. I am surprised that Adelakun fail to understand this fact. Will Lagos have become Dubai and Singapore if the State is being ruled by other parties in which Tinubu is not a member? Tinubu is not a saint, just another Nigerian politician and Abimbola Adelakun is free to hate him but justifying her biases and prejudices by blaming Tinubu for all the ills in the land is quite illogical. Somebody must become the president and that person is already part of the Nigerian politics, so let her start campaigning for him. |

Why not spend this same level of energy, time and resources to market a good candidate that is free of all vices and can turn Nigeria into Singapore, Dubai and all those nice places mentioned by the writer? |

OfoIgbo: you guys and your lies.
More Igbos fought to ensure Jonathan was declared the president. No Yoruba person, dead or alive, fought as hard as Dr. Akunyili or Ojo Maduekwe who were even serving ministers.
Mention one Yoruba minister during the Yaradua era who fought as hard as the Igbo duo, to ensure GEJ was enthroned.
Also in 2011, Yorubas did not vote for GEJ massively. Up until a few weeks before that election, Yorubas were campaigning for another Fulani man, the former EFCC boss. It was when Tinubu saw the handwriting on the wall that he started talking about supporting GEJ. Lagos was won by PDP because of the population of Igbos and other southerners in Lagos. A Yoruba state even voted for Nuhu Ribadu.
Now in 2015 Yorubas showed their true colours, joined the Fulanis in rubbishing their fellow southerner. It was Yorubas that started labelling GEJ a buffoon and incompetent. The records are there. It was Yorubas that threatened Igbo with drowning in the lagoon, all because Igbos at that time, supported GEJ's PDP.
Today, the mastermind of that anti-GEJ move, now wants to be elected the president of Nigeria. We will wait and see what the response from the SS and SE will be You don't understand how elections are won and lost. Have you for once sat down to ask who will be the PDP and APC agents in your polling unit? Do you know how many registered voters are in your polling units, where is the collation centre for your ward? How many votes is your party expecting in your ward? Your participation and involvement in the electoral process is too superficial. Real politicians are doing their homeworks. |

Idiko1: Do you intellectually and remotely embrace the fact that ports in Nigeria are exclusive domain of federal government? I really want Nigeria to disintegrate so as to usher fresh intellectual development. Railways, Airports and Seaports are in the Exclusive LEGISLATIVE list in the constition. What this means is that only the FG can legislate on these. It doesn't necessarily mean only the FG can build and operate Railways,Airports and Seaports. During the Military Era, the FG directly went to the business of building and operating Airports and Seaports on behalf of all Nigerians but after over 40 years of this practice, nothing much was achieved except inefficiency, nepotism and massive corruption. In the present dispensation, the FG is restricting itself to Legislative and regulatory roles, giving licenses to whoever wants to build these infrastructure. The Anambra Airport, Lagos blue light rail, Port-Harcourt light rail, Gelegele Seaport in Edo, Ibom Air and Lekki Seaport are all States projects carried out after receiving licenses/approval from the FG. |

Cantonese: Looking at the write up without bias, cannot you dispute the fact the very bad leaders have been foisted on us as citizens? This country has gone from bad to worse on all indices.
We had an Ambode who was doing quite well in terms of infrastructure and trying to make Lagos better and a mega city, but he was removed because he did not play ball. With him by now, agberoism would have become history.
By now people living in a so called mega city like Lagos should be ashamed of agberos, okadas and keke napeps. Their activities had been successfully curtailed by Brig. Marwa before 1998 and we had peace. Today agberos have even taken over control of traffic lights in parts of Lagos. The leader of NURTW presently campaigns and the reason is simple. Get BAT in and have an additional 8 years of the nuisance in Lagos.
Adelakun has no axe to grind. The truth is there for everyone to see, except one chooses to behave like the proverbial ostrich.
He’s greed is responsible for the national calamity that we experience today nationally. Before 2014 BAT was a regional leader. His leading ACN to team up with CPC was to gain national prominence and as we have finally heard to satisfy his “life long ambition”. If what we presently experience from APC is the best of our president, as he said, what difference will APC under BAT make?
For me the candidate for the SW should be Osinbanjo. The difference is very clear. Look my friend, the beauty of democracy is the plurality of choices. There are over 10 other Presidential aspirants, why not chose one with unblemished records and start promoting his candidacy? Why this funny idea that if Tinubu is contesting, other aspirants are automatically prevented from contesting? In developed democracies, you won't see so many people asking that a particular citizen must not contest or people campaigning against a particular citizen like they are doing here. Tinubu has a God given and constitutional right to aspire to the highest office in his country, it's evil trying to take away that right from any citizen. Tinubu is not saying you or your candidate should not contest, so why are you saying he should back out of the race. Allow the electorates to chose the best candidate |

I read the columnist's article to the end and here are my inferences;
The writer believes
1) Tinubu is a bad candidate.
2) Tinubu is responsible for the problems in Lagos State.
3)That Tinubu is the cause of the problems in Nigeria from 2015 till date.
After enumerating everything negative that will happen if Tinubu becomes the president, she didn't point out any solution , especially the candidate with the Midas' Touch that will solve the problems in Nigeria.
Somebody must become the president. Is that person free of all that this woman accussed Tinubu of.
In my own opinion, Abimbola Adelakun seems like someone who has a personal axe to grind with Tinubu. It's better for her to start canvassing for her candidate, whose morality is at par with that of Angel Gabriel. |
