BABANGBALI: But it’s hard sha
You want to be President Your wife is a Senator Your Daughter is Iyaloja Your Son is Advertising Guru for State Accounts Your Newspaper is the official organ for South Western States Your TV station is the official paid propaganda channel of several southern states You collect Tax Revenue as a Consultant for Lagos State You own almost all the remaining valuable real estate in Lagos You own burial grounds and mortuaries with your wife in lagos Your wife is the official supplier of Diesel to all Lagos state formations and generators powering all street lights in Lagos You control directly all the machinery of Government in at least 6 states
Unless there is something else that is wrong with you and your head, what are you looking for in the Presidency?
If you have managed the resources and states you control very well, we would be the ones calling for you to be President.
Not you sharing bag of beans. Temitope Akintola All these are unnecessary sentiments, it is either you find a court injunction to stop a candidate or you join political party to defeat him. You can't be shouting on social media that a candidate shouldn't contest. |

Stella Oduah wielded enormous power as the minister of Aviation under GEJ. Both could have removed any political policy that prevent the development of International Airports in the S/East. Rotimi Amaechi has been the Minister of Transportation since 2015. The Onne port in his home State of Rivers State is functioning and even received the largest ship to berth in Nigeria. Politics › Re: Oyo Is "Yoruba" by oyatz(m): 11:05pm On Nov 22, 2021 |
Ogbuefi2020: That's the problem, the "fatherhood" Yoruba ascribe to oduduwa is purely biological which is very impossible. To the extent of claiming that he fell from the sky when he actually came around 10th century and his origin remain unclear Oduduwa was the founder of the most extensive and enduring dynasties in Yorubaland and only members of certain royal families are actually his descendants. In Yorubaland, the king is the 'father' of the kingdom but this doesn't mean he is the biological father of the town. As per falling from the sky, you ought to know the difference between myths and histories. In the olden days, people attribute 'heavenly' attribute to themselves to prove that they were superior to others. Examples of such progenitors with descents from Heaven/sky can also be found in Igbo mythology (Eri was said to have descended from the sky) and Bini mythology (The Ogisos were said to have descended from the sky. Ogiso= Ogie +Is= King + sky) |

If more formidable candidates refuse to contest, he will win. What we need is transparent electoral system. The sons of Obanikoro and T.A Orji are currently House of Reps member and Speaker respectively. The late Senator Isiaka Adeleke (Davido's uncle) was the first Executive Governor of Osun State and later on a Senator representing Osun West till his sudden death and his younger brother, Senator Ademola Adeleke replaced him in the Senate. Ademola Adeleke was the PDP flagbearer in the 2018 Osun gubernatorial election and the most likely flag bearer come 2022 election. The late strong man of Kwara Politics, Dr Olusola Saraki was the Senate majority leader in the Second Republic and his son, Dr Bukola Saraki was two term Governor of Kwara State and two term Senator from Kwara Central. |

Politics › Re: Who Is Onye Igbo And Why Some Are Confused by oyatz(m): 6:44am On Nov 22, 2021 |
In Nigeria, the importance of ethnic groups which fan tribalism is more pronounced than in the USA or Israel because Nigeria favour consumption over productivity, thus such ethnic identities are used as the basis for sharing power, wealth and privileges in Nigeria.
If we favour productivity, there won't even be need to be asking for 'State of origin' in Government documents. |
Politics › Re: Oyo Is "Yoruba" by oyatz(m): 6:34am On Nov 22, 2021 |
Ogbuefi2020: How a well educated nation like Yoruba came up with the fabble that they all originated from oduduwa (circa 10th century) still baffles me. Similar attempt was made in igbo land to foist an Eri-centric history on us but it was rejected by our academic intelligentsia, rather, all communities founded by Eri were identified When people say that someone is the father of a Nation( e.g Ataturk = Father of the Turks, Attah Igala= Father of the Igalas), it means the personality played a key role in shaping the nation and it doesn't necessarily mean the individual is the biological father of everyone in the nation. Examples of such 'Fathers of the nations' are found in all parts of the world from Israel to Mongolia to Rome. Each ethnic group evolve differently, so it is unnecessary to assume that what is obtainable in one ethnic group must be obtainable in another one. |

PROUDIGBO: No they wouldn’t! You must think most Lagosians are daft and beholden to the Tinubu mafia! What will happen is what has always happened in the past with gubernatorial elections in Lagos state since Tinubu became the ‘capone’ of Lagos....they will rig and intimidate their way to ‘victory’! What may work against them this time around would be the new system of accreditation and electronic transfer of results that wouldn’t give them enough room to cook the figures as they come in, like before! Bros, don't deceive yourself ,none of all the Governorship elections in Lagos was truly won by the PDP which hardly win more than 2-3 LGAs. The elections reflected the wishes of majority of the voters. |

PrinceOfLagos: You said the same thing on Ambode until he was eventually booted out for Sanwo Olu
Seyi Tinubu is next in line for Sanwo Olu job Actually, anybody can run for election, including you and the man in this poster or a relative of a former Governor. Anybody that gets the highest votes wins. In the US, George H. Bush was a House of Representatives member, Vice president and finally became a president. His sons, Jeb Bush and George Bush were simultaneously the Governors of Florida and Texas. Later-on George Bush Jnr became the president of the USA just after 8years that his father left the same office. Two fathers and two sons had become presidents of the US. |

rickyrex: for me there's nothing like interest it all about party... As far as Nigeria politics is concern... Brainwash the masses on why pdp or apc is bad they will follow you. I was in kebbi state during 2015 election and I can tell you that most of them don't have interest what dey have is party affiliation. God forbid tinubu dies tomorrow you will know if the south west has interest or party affiliation. If tinubu decided to decamp to pdp most people will follow even after calling pdp thieves. The truth is that Nigeria politics speaks same language and not Interest. That is a governor can leave his state and go to another state to campaign and people will still listen to him. Politics is about interests sir. However the interests varies from persons to persons. For ordinary Nigerian (the masses) ,who in most cases don't benefit directly from the Government and majority of whom can't think deeply, their Interests may be as banal as 'having their tribal, regional or religious person in office'. A good number of people in this class can be motivated to vote for these 'their' candidate if there is some financial rewards for the voting e.g a cash of about #500 or some amount of kerosene, raw foods etc. For members of a political party, who stand to gain from Government if their party is in power, these people vote for their parties. For active politicians, they vote for people/ parties that can give them access to the corridors of power e.g Senatorial candidates on the platform of the PDP in Enugu or Edo States will work to deliver their towns/LGAs to the PDP during the presidential election. |
