how does a state develop when the resources in your land are held by the FG? How does a state develop when people who are supposed to have sense are bickering over VAT? What exactly is development to you when the standard of education has been reduced to the level of the North? In Anambra where I am from which is the most industrialized state in the SE doesn't generate its own electricity? Even the airport that was built needed permission from Abuja before it could start operation. No state in Nigeria can surpass Lagos with the type of democracy we are running. And Lagos is a shit hole compared to other African states. Just like all the 36 states are useless combined.

Despite many excuses, Anambra and other States can generate their own electricity (e.g for an industrial estate). They only need to join the National Grid if the amount of electricity will be above 1 MW.

Each State has land which can be used for Commercial Agriculture.


Even the control of minerals by the FG is more on paper than reality.

Anambra had Clay and Rocks which are mineral resources which can be used to produce ceramics and glass without the FG disturbing them.

There are so many opportunities available for States to develop but we don't have Governors that think deeply on how to develop the economy of their States.

Each State has its own educational sector with many primary, secondary and tertiary institutions.

They can develop their educational standards to educate their people and leave the North with the falling standards of education.

are we actually making that efforts to develop? Look at the North. What have they done in the last 20 years that can show that they actually want to move forward. Because going by what I have seen, Nigeria as it is now is structured to favour them. The bulk of the blame of Nigerias failures goes to them.

Well, the North may wallow in underdevelopment but they are NOT the reasons why Osun, Ekiti, Delta, Anambra, Bayelsa ,Abia and all Southern States haven't developed as they should.

1) In 1898, there was nothing like Nigeria.

2) Export of Agricultural and raw materials were limited to the coastal areas. They only expanded to the hinterland after the constructions of the Railways and many other ports.

3) Palm oil/kernel from the east were exported via Opobo, Bonny and Calabar. They had nothing to do with Lagos.

4) Timber, palm kernel/oil from Lagos and surronding areas were exported through Lagos.

5) There were limitations in the quantities of goods produced for export and limitations in the large scale transportation of these products to the ports along the coast. The constructions of railways much more later solved this problems.


6) Cocoa is NOT an indigenous crop in this country and cocoa plantation became common after 1900.

Wait until Ambode is PDP candidate.

The 2023 election is about 16 months away. Ambode as a private citizen (in constrast to Ambode as a sitting Governor) joining the party just to clinch the party's ticket will cause dissaffection within the PDP that will further distabilize the party.

In Lagos, the PDP will find it difficult to win and it will be more difficult if Tinubu or any other Yoruba politician is the presidential Flag bearer of the APC.

Disenchantment is growing against Tinubu’s grip on Lagos and time is coming for him to be dislodged.

My advise to PDP is, after getting the Lagos4Lagos group to join the party...

The next step would be to woo Ambode into the party to come complete his tenure.

The third step is to ensure Igbo voters of their protection during elections and you will see them in their thousands come out to vote PDP in solidarity.

The naked truth is this - discrimination exists everywhere. It is highly unexpected for a Muslim Igbo man from Abia State or Anambra State to win any election in the area. Such a person will likely be treated badly in a lot of social circles in that area. It is trite to state that Northern Christians suffer a great deal of marginalisation from their Muslim brothers. Doesn't it strike a chord that there are very few key positions held by Christians who are Northerners in the country?
If you want to reduce or eliminate discrimination, you have to attack and change the education of a particular group of people.
And in a liberal society, that may not work because the parents and people around will still feed the children with their beliefs of what is right or wrong - this is part of the reason why osu 'caste' system still subsists till date.
The only way to stop people from changing their cultural thinking very quickly is this - the state would have to detain people, torture them and then brainwash them into having certain beliefs. In my view,i don't think a police state of this nature is ideal for society.
The more sustainable option is to create a highly functioning profit- oriented society. There is no person, no matter how racist or tribalistic he is, that will want to do something that is inimical to his economic interest. Donald Sterling, one-time owner of la clippers was racist but he had a black man, Doc Rivers as the team's coach. Also, at least 70 percent of the NBA (us basketball league) players are black men.
Competence will always outstrip discrimination. Nigeria has a system built on kleptocracy and not on competence and that is why we will continue to have high levels of discrimination.
