giles14: where is cocoa the Western Nigeria is known for we all know that palm oil/kernels are from the east ,timber/rubber from middlebelt, and cotton from the north.
Lagos parasitic life even began since 1889.
CHAIIII 1) In 1898, there was nothing like Nigeria. 2) Export of Agricultural and raw materials were limited to the coastal areas. They only expanded to the hinterland after the constructions of the Railways and many other ports. 3) Palm oil/kernel from the east were exported via Opobo, Bonny and Calabar. They had nothing to do with Lagos. 4) Timber, palm kernel/oil from Lagos and surronding areas were exported through Lagos. 5) There were limitations in the quantities of goods produced for export and limitations in the large scale transportation of these products to the ports along the coast. The constructions of railways much more later solved this problems. 6) Cocoa is NOT an indigenous crop in this country and cocoa plantation became common after 1900. |

Penguin2: Wait until Ambode is PDP candidate. The 2023 election is about 16 months away. Ambode as a private citizen (in constrast to Ambode as a sitting Governor) joining the party just to clinch the party's ticket will cause dissaffection within the PDP that will further distabilize the party. In Lagos, the PDP will find it difficult to win and it will be more difficult if Tinubu or any other Yoruba politician is the presidential Flag bearer of the APC. |

Penguin2: It’s good to see PDP finally making some reasonable moves in Lagos for once.
Disenchantment is growing against Tinubu’s grip on Lagos and time is coming for him to be dislodged.
My advise to PDP is, after getting the Lagos4Lagos group to join the party...
The next step would be to woo Ambode into the party to come complete his tenure.
The third step is to ensure Igbo voters of their protection during elections and you will see them in their thousands come out to vote PDP in solidarity.
If these things can be done, then not even Tinubu’s agberos can save him from losing Lagos in 2023.
#FingerCrossed So, who do you think will win the 2023 Governorship election in Lagos? (a) Gov Babajide Sanwo-Olu (b) Mr AbdulAzeez Olajide Adeniran |

Penguin2: How would you expect them to conduct national convention when ordinary state congresses to produce 36 chairmen produced 92 instead.
APC knows that the day it tries conducting a national convention is the day the party will tear to pieces.
But they are merely postponing the doomsday.
This is something PDP just concluded seamlessly.
We keep telling zombies that PDP is the only political party in Nigeria but the grill vultures they consume has so fried their brain that they keep convulsing in disagreement.
Like this report rightly noted, a northern minister and 3 governors are the one calling shots now in APC.
Tinubu is neither a northern minister nor a governor which but indicates that his presidential ambition is a pipe dream just as the activities of SWAGA is nothing but Swagalicious passmagaring.
Like Awolowo and Abiola before him who went into servitude for the north in hope of power, Tinubu too will die with an unfulfilled ambition and he will forever regret the day he led his followers into an alliance against southern Nigeria interest.

ScamHunter: What we are saying is that Yoruba WILL have zero support. So a Yoruba presidency bid is dead on arrival. For power to shift to the south, all southerners should back Igbo presidency bid. And if the Yoruba's quest for presidency is dead on arrival, i think they should bother about that and not you. How exactly does it affect you sir? |
Politics › Re: Who Will Vote A Yoruba Man for President In 2023? by oyatz(m): 7:05pm On Nov 08, 2021 |
ScamHunter: We are talking about power rotation to the south the way the north ensured power rotation in 2015 by co-opting Yoruba into their agenda at the expense of the south. What we are saying is that if the south MUST get power in 2023, then the south, all the south must rally around an Igbo presidency or southern presidency is dead on arrival. Yoruba either step down for Igbo or the north continues after Buhari. Isn't that clear enough to you? The Yoruba have nothing to leverage on. No southerner will back them and the north knows this since they have proven treacherous to the southern agenda. So you guys had better wake up before it''s too late. After all, what's at stake is far more than hunger and free crude oil. Remember Benin Republic IDPs if power fails to return to the south. Hope this helps... You don't still get it sir. 1) Individual voters determine which candidate to vote for. No central authority has the capacity to make all members of an ethnic group to vote for a particular candididate. 2) politicians and political parties decide who wins their presidential ticket. |
Politics › Re: Late Femi Osibonna Was An Unrepentant Religious Bigot- Farouk Kperogi. by oyatz(m): 8:47am On Nov 08, 2021 |
Geovanni412: The naked truth is this - discrimination exists everywhere. It is highly unexpected for a Muslim Igbo man from Abia State or Anambra State to win any election in the area. Such a person will likely be treated badly in a lot of social circles in that area. It is trite to state that Northern Christians suffer a great deal of marginalisation from their Muslim brothers. Doesn't it strike a chord that there are very few key positions held by Christians who are Northerners in the country? If you want to reduce or eliminate discrimination, you have to attack and change the education of a particular group of people. And in a liberal society, that may not work because the parents and people around will still feed the children with their beliefs of what is right or wrong - this is part of the reason why osu 'caste' system still subsists till date. The only way to stop people from changing their cultural thinking very quickly is this - the state would have to detain people, torture them and then brainwash them into having certain beliefs. In my view,i don't think a police state of this nature is ideal for society. The more sustainable option is to create a highly functioning profit- oriented society. There is no person, no matter how racist or tribalistic he is, that will want to do something that is inimical to his economic interest. Donald Sterling, one-time owner of la clippers was racist but he had a black man, Doc Rivers as the team's coach. Also, at least 70 percent of the NBA (us basketball league) players are black men. Competence will always outstrip discrimination. Nigeria has a system built on kleptocracy and not on competence and that is why we will continue to have high levels of discrimination. Gid bless you sir. The last paragraph clearly illustrate what i have been preaching all the while. |

How will you feel if your mother gets pregnant for your driver and end up marrying him There is a stage you get to in life that you begin to understand that everybody, irrespective of their status and regardless of the feelings or opinions of others crave for happiness and their rights to pursue this happiness should be respected. I used to be critical of housemaids ,regarding them as dirty and flirt because of certain past observations. Later on, i realized that housemaids are also humans, who like other humans have sexual urges but aren't allowed to freely express it, so they tend to gratify their sexual urges by sleeping with the males in the household or around it like their madam's husband, relatives, gatemen, gardnerd or even their madam's children. One guy once recollected that when he was in primary-2, their housegirl asked him to be licking her private part, that it will later-on turn to ice-cream in his mouth. |

airsaylongcome: "They" may have hated Awo (for good reasons; Awo lost Lagos election then came to Western region to "scream" about the "travesty" of allowing a Zik govern). But surely "they" didn't hate on MKO nau! MKO was headed for a landslide victory in the south and most of the north. "They" hate in Jaga now because they feel he betrayed them in 2015 (rightly or wrongly). I'm not a fan of Jaga ruling personally (he can pick a preferred candidate and I would be fine), but if it's Jaga vs any Northerner I'm voting Jaga by a mile and more. This country is turn-by-turn Nigeria Limited. North have had their turn, its the turn of a southerner irrespective of whether the southern candidate is alive or dead (and I am not insinuating that Jaga is "dead" . If there is only one southern candidate from the two major parties, I don't care if its Jaga or a stone from the beach in the south, I'm voting south Stop spreading falsehold. Awo did NOT lose any election in Lagos. The 1952 election in Western Region was a parliamentary election in which each candidate contest in their constituencies and the party that had the majority members in the House formed the Regional Government at Ibadan. Zik contested in Lagos while Awo contested in his home town, Ikenne (Remo Division) and both won their seats. At the Regional level in Ibadan, the Action Group led by Awo had the majority and formed the Government of Western. The electoral processes were supervised by the British Colonial Electoral Umpire. |
