Ah, Gbawe. 'High profile' Gbawe. Such confusion masquerading as intelligence, nationalism, and even pan-africanism. Where do you find the time to write these rants? 'Gbawe for President'! ![]() |
@ Ranoscky: On second thought, you should be Gbawe's running mate. Your mission will be to teach Ghana some lessons in respect! ![]() |
Follow your instinct, I mean your cork! ![]() |
@ Ajanlekoko: objectivity, finally. @jude330: Thank you. Some of us would rather run to Ghana to make money, forgetting that Ghanaians are not unaware of what our leaders are doing to us. So, when the likes of businessman Gbawe, (great investor in Ghana's economy, and a man who has an axe to grind), gets to Accra with his arrogant strut and the people of that country show displeasure, he cries discrimination. The people of Ghana are not like Nigerians. I bet you guys also 'spray' money when you hold parties in Ghana, so culturally-insensitive are you! Tell me how long the Lebanese, Syrians, Morrocans, Greeks, Italians, French , and now Chinese have been ripping off the nigerian economy. Nigeria does not even know how many citizens of those countries live within her territory. Now that we have an African country that is trying to do things like we don't, we complain. Does Nigeria have the right to dictate Ghana's policy? Does Ghana have to be as carefree as Nigeria is? I leave the response to you. By the way, why don't these Nigerian businessmen invest in Nigeria? Why create jobs in Ghana and not in Nigeria? And if Ghana says 'no, thank you' to Nigerians' benevolence, is there a law that they have to accept such benevolence? I do not know what line of business Gbawe is in to, and I wish him luck; however, he cannot deny the fact that some Nigerians have, through their illicit activities, damaged Nigeria's reputation to the point where Nigerians risk being killed in almost all parts of West Africa. So, Nigeria helped those countries when Nigeria had the means? Good, that shows you that money cant buy respect. Nigerians should get over their arrogance, invest in their own country and stop blaming Ghana for everything that seems wrong in Nigeria. @ Ranoscky: I hereby name you Chairman of "Gbawe for President 2011". ![]() |
Be careful how you throw the word 'love' around. That said, give her a box of 100 condoms. In case she is seeing someone else, at least she will be practicing safe-sex. That way the three, (or is it the ten?) of you are all protected. ![]() What is this thing called love? ![]() What is this thing called, love? ![]() What?, is this thing called love? GO FIGURE, dumbass. ![]() |
Welcome back. The loot has been stashed away so carefully it would not be discovered, abi? You da man! |
I and my wife are Muslims. What we do behind the closed door of our bedroom (especially during Ramadan) does not concern the Imam. No be so Mulika? Mulika responds " Allah-hu-akbar". ![]() But, more seriously, have you "practising" Muslims heard that during Ramadd-an, young princes from the various Arab emirates, sheikdoms, kingdoms and other 'doms' in the Middle East flock to the Mediterranean to consume alcohol, frolick with European whores, and commit other 'harams? May Allah, the Magnificent, grant me his mercy. (Makes sign of the Cross). ![]() |
1. How about declaring the day a 'A national Day of Prayers'? Though not a believer myself, it occurs to me that I read somewhere that Nigerians are the most religious on earth. So lets hav, e a day when we could get our religion on. Prayer and fasting will not only touch the 'gods', they will also do us well by cleansing our psyche as well as our bowels. Please note, that since this has a spiritual and physiological goal, no thithes or any other donations should be made in the various venues of worship. Keep your money, you need it for survival. My only fear is that this will be sabotaged by politicians of all persuations, ugliness, and immorality. You can bet they will show up in their convoy of the most expensive IMPORTED cars, bought with the peolpes money. They and their hangers-on will show up, clad in the biggest agbada, baba-riga, and the various symbols of ethnic identity. They just have to have a celebraion! It is the opportunity for them to 'feed' the people with the crumbs from their (the leaders) well stocked pantries and dregs from their wine cellar. 2. Why not just shut Nigeria down for that day? Yes, shut it down as in a self imposed curfew that will last 24 hours. Spend the time with your family, friends and neighbors. Please do not celebrate as it is customary with you to celebrate even those who steal your property, and thank the God of Israel for those who make Nigerian's , Africans', and the black race's lives so unlivable. Do not thank God for having blessed those, ask for God's wrath on them! Whatever God you worship must be quite unfair and inconsiderate that those thieves are still roaming free. Not even a million 'shaloms', nor a billion 'aslaa m alaiwhatever' will stop them. Considering what they have done, are still doing, and will certainly continue to do, despite all your prayers, your worship, your faithfullness; Nigerians probably need to reconsider their relationship with God. As the Yorubas see it, a relationship based on faith is reciprocal : I worship you, make sacrifices to you, and obey your injunctions; the least you can do is help me, 'Orisa bo l'e gbemi, fimi sile bose b'ami'. If our leaders are not ready to stop 'leading' us to ruination, the least we can do is protest. But do we? Oh no! As far as we are concerned their worldly 'sucess' is 'just' a blessing from God, and who are we to go against 'Yahweh'. We follow them to give thanks for keeping to themselves what was meant for the commonwealth. We follow them to Mecca, Medina, Jerusalem, River Jordan, Lourdes, Rome etc., etc,. God must have a great sense of humor. This is what comes to my mind when I see them, piously reading the Bible by the River Jordan, or hitting their forehead on the ground in Mecca. Meanwhile nothing works: no electricity, no water, the roads are not motorable, the kids dont go to school; teachers, professors, doctors are not paid, many die in an attempt to collect their pension, and all our leaders want to do is celebrate 50 years of independence? Forgive me if I say there should be no celebtration of failure even if it is a failure of one day, talk less of 50 years. Yes, SHUT NIGERIA DOWN! Nigerians should meet and discuss how to bring profound change in all aspects of life, private and public, or if you want, how to get rid of these vampires that pretend to lead us. Just wondering. Two questions: 1. If they are so incompetent that they need to take a competency test, why not just fire, retire, or send them to jail for their incompetence and whatever criminal offences they might have committed as a result of this incompetence? 2. Why are these 'directors' afraid of a simple test? ![]() |
Very interesting. Problem is the basis of Christianity itself as well as the nature of the individual in from whose name the Church derived its essence. Did Jesus Christ ever exist? If he did, then all the story of his origin (Virgin Mary conceiving a child without hooking up with a man), needs to be revisited. If he did not exist, then the church has, for thousands of years, been perpetrating the biggest fraud in human history. Can anyone enlighten us on this? Oh yes, please do not start quoting the Bible, give us empirical (observable, testable, and provable) evidence. |
He says he wants to pay back what he gained from Nigeria. Good idea. Now he should surrender the billions of dollars that he made while he ruined Nigeria. |
I almost got fired because of my addiction to Nairaland. I will not be proud until I get my letter of termination of appointment . Up y'all! |
So, which constitution is paramount: the PDP's or Nigeria's? |
He did not deserve it, and may he catch something. ![]() |
My partner's emotions? I am still trying to be in touch with my own emotions. Let me see, you phucking emotions where are you? ![]() |
And the Niger Delta crisis has been resolved, abi? |
If the question is still 'What men hate after Marriage' and not what they do not like in their wives after marriage, I will have to say : 'Mothers-in law'. Terrible women in their own right. ![]() |
One of my friends once was married to a woman who had these insane oyinbo ideas in her head after her mother miseducated her about marriage. She joined him in Europe and opted for a separate bedroom. Little did she know that she commited murder that instant. She killed her own marriage. And my friend lived happily ever after. ![]() |
Ebenezer Babatope (Ebinoino Topsy), the pseudo-intellectual socialo-awoist! Awolowo must be rolling in his grave. But then again, who knows? This means that anyone who qualifies has access to N500 Million. I suspect that any such who has been governor, or held any political office stole the money from public funds. Therefore, when they are named, Nigerians should ask the courts to demand explanations as to the origin of such money. Any lawyers ready for a 'pro-bono' service to their fatherland? @Stormm: . No surprise there. Awo was fond of surrounding himself with people of lower intellect (or psychophants, if you want). It is a strategy in leadership, especially political leadership. It is also one of the reasons why he could not relate with the likes of lawyers such as Akintola, Akinloye, Duro Ogundiran, Busari Obisesan, and intellectuals such as Sanya Onabamiro and others. His circle was made up of Grade 2 teachers, 'praise-writers' parading as journalists, and other great 'thinkers' of the AG and subsequently, the UPN. Ebino Topsy was one of those. |
Gbawe, you take yourself and your diatribe too seriously. 'Ni ilu afoju, olojukan l'oba'. It feels good to you that you are cheered on by less intelligent folks around you. They make silly comments, throw in some insults here and there simply because a poster does not agree with your (Gbawe's) opinion, not even their own opinions. Some are so impressed by your rants that they want to shout 'Gbawe for President'! So sad! Of course, you seem to enjoy it. This does not speak well of your intelligence. The state of your mind is another question. How come everything has to be confrontational where you are concerned?. GLO/Adenuga, why, maybe Ghana stopped liking them because they realised Adenuga is a front for Babangida. Think of the 'love' Nigerians have for IBB and you wonder why Ghana may not want to deal with someone or a business that is related to IBB, the CIA agent who helped put more drugs on American streets than even the dreaded but benevolent Pablo Escobar. Did you also consider that Obasanjo's hand might be in this for the same reason as above? Then again, there is the 'Third Term Agenda' and IBB's not-so-active opposition? Could it be that OBJ leaned on the authorities in Ghana for his own diabolic plans?. And the female estate developper; why could she not build in Nigeria? Your answer is as good as mine. 'It is all Ghana's fault!', you say. You are crying yourself hoarse like a church pastor on a Sunday morning. Give us some analysis please. Ghana does not owe Nigeria and Nigerians anything. I am sick and tired of this sense of entitlement on the part of the 'Giant' of Africa. A drunk gaint is not a good sight to see. And yes, some of you have doubted my origin and loyalty to Nigeria. I will answer you by saying that blind loyalty has never done the leader any good. Besides, 'omo t'o shipa l'angbe'. I am an Ibadan man. |
I agree, becomerich should be shot, but please let me have the pleasure of putting him out of his misery. I will accord him the chance of defending his insane rants. Defendant is asked to answer the following questions: 1. Are you speaking for all Yorubas? 2. Is Benin Republic an Oodua Republic? But more importantly, to claim that the Yorubas are marginalised is true; but they marginalised themselves. I am not talking in terms of projects, infrastructures, and other corruption-ladden programs, OBJ has taken care of that and someone has rightly mentioned that in this thread. The Yorubas have been so quiet after the end of the Obasanjo-PDP regime, one gets the impression that they went on vacation, and one wonders: how could anyone go on a 4 year vacation? It is true that the presidency will certainly not go to the Yorubas for another 20 years or even more, but to maintain such deafening silence in national affairs does not confirm the acclaimed Yoruba savvy in Nigeria's national politics. I may be wrong, but I haven't heard much from the Yorubas concerning the situation in the Delta region, except for Professor Wole Soyinka. Yet, the Delta question is the most important question that will have to be answered as far as the corporate existence of Nigeria is concerned. It is about the essence of national unity and fairness. Just wondering. |
"Ghana wants to use 'ties (with Nigeria) to Ghana's advantage'"- (I guess Ghana should use it to Nigeria's advantage) "Nigeria has no faith in indigenous effort" - (Sure, and that is Ghana's fault!) "Stealing the concept from Nigeria" (Stealing a concept? What next, stealing an idea?. And what are patents and copyrights for? Of course no one cares about those in Nigeria) "Ghana is interested in appearing better than Nigeria" (Of course, if Nigeria is the best example on your side of the universe, which it is not) CONCLUSION : With uninformed, unknowledgeable, and sometimes downright inane opinions like these, (and there are a thousand of them in this thread) expressed with expert flourish; I, for one, now see why Nigeria is such a mess. Most posters here are so focused on what Ghana is doing 'wrong' toward Nigeria that they forget that Ghana owes its own development to no one else but itself. In relations between nations, there is no free lunch. Its a world of competition, and only the fittest will survive. Let this great industrialist take his business to the most conducive environment for profit. After it is all said and done, he does not owe Nigeria such love as to jeopardize his own investment. Just wondering. |
Nigerians, talk, talk, talk, and some more talk. When are you know-it-alls going to get your people out in the streets to fight your various thieving 'honorables'? The world is leaving you behind! Bugs the mind how such intelligent and hard-working people let themselves be led by morons and criminals of all shades; and, sometimes, stark illiterates. Did you see the CNN report on oil spills that have been taking place in Nigeria for 50 years? If nothing should rouse you up that is it. But then, what do i know? |
@ naijasisi: stop buying cheap ones. No be London you dey. I like the makeup on you though ![]() |
Try any of the following reasons: 1. To make the Chinese and the Koreans rich ![]() 2. To be who they are not 3. To purposely look ugly ![]() 4. To look like ashawo/karuwa/prostitute 5. To attract the different 'honorables', professors, managers, permsecs, and all others who have one kind of 'power' or the other in the country ![]() |
It was actually built with Bankole's share of the last scam. Or maybe it was his daddy's money . Daniel and Babangida will go well together, ![]() |
Dear God. Why did you do this to my hometown, my state, and my people? What kind of God are you to wreck this havoc on us? What have we done to merit this-12 years of non-development?. All that to a state that was always at the vanguard of social, political, and economic progress? We worship you, we Shalom you, we Allah-ul-Akbar you, dogs are slaughtered, food, palmwine etc. are offered. We have called you by your various names, praised you in all ways recommended, and yet what ? What else do you want from us?. ACT now God, if you are who you and others say you are. ![]() Frustrated believer. Ps: Please posters, let no one preach to me. I'm at the point of personally going after God. ![]() |
If this is true, my own problem is why a country like Nigeria needs N500 ($3.3) Billion worth of defense equipment? We are not in a war that I heard of, or could it be that we want to be ready in case Europe and the USA want to meddle in our 'affairs'?. How could our leaders forget that these are the same countries that manufacture the equipment and, therefore, would know how to render them somehow ineffective or even inoperable?. Just wondering. |
Ahem, me I no sabi o! ![]() |
