I am not a gullible Christian and will never be. People like @tpia are biased and unreasonable. They professed they know God but lack the foreknowledge. Like I said, the Lord had been faithful to me and I'm thankful for that. Regarding the issue of dragging, I for one reject the idea of compulsion, and being compellable should be out of the question. I'm a free spirit person and can not be subjected to any dictate except that which comes direct from God.

I go to Church not for the Pastor but for the word of God. I do consume these words alone and most times do not actually need any Pastor to tell me God's will for my life, however, to be candid, my main reason for going to Church is to listen to the choir sing and meet friends

I don't find it comfortable when I go to Church without having a dime to give. Although I don't see anything wrong with it (since I sincerely don't have), my Pastor would always point it out that it's a sin to come to Church empty. This opinion is also shared by many pentecostal Pastors I've come in contact with.

I've since then decided that If don't have anything to give when going to Church, I might as well stay back home and enjoy my musics. I'm done with Pastors trying to make me look poor or bad. Even If I do have something to give as offering, other petty demands and begging still have to be taking into consideration.

I almost wanted to dispute this with you, but then i remember one incident that occurred with a childhood friend that i visited in Norwich some time ago, and i remember how he preferred to sit in darkness and watch his TV, i remember warning him of the risk and effect such light could impact in your his eyes; i also remember thinking that the room would have been real dark if not for the glowing light from the TV. Could this really be that he was avoiding the electricity bill or was it just by coincident?

Don't get me wrong. common sense should tell us we don't switch on the light when we are by ourselves watching TV. But as soon as friends or visitors comes in, the same common sense should tell us to switch on the light.

I thought what I witnessed was just a sort of misinterpretation on my part. But few days later, the same thing happened again!

I visited a friend in the London area at about 8pm and was gladly received. But as soon as I sat down, I noticed the lights were switched off and I couldn't even see the beauty of the house I visited. My friend, his wife and child were seated opposite to me and i couldn't even see them  if not for the television that keeps illuminating and reflecting to their faces once in a while. My friend is financially ok and I couldn't conclude that he did that to save himself some money.

Few days later before travelling back to the states, I went to the same house to finalize some biz, to my disbelieve, same bullshyt happened again! I kept quite 'cause i didn't want to upset him. I thought maybe that was just him.

months later, I attended a birthday party of a female friend in London and something similar happened again. I said no, not in a party. It was a house party which was graced by almost 30 people. I got there around 9pm (late) and noticed people were dancing, but in the almost dark! I called the celebrant and asked, her response was ' Mummy switched off the light because she doesn't want to incur bills', I almost fainted and couldn't believed what I just heard.

I visited her again before leaving.And on this occasion, the mum asked me to switch off the light behind me before seating down (yeah, it was at night as well!). I called a friend and told him about my experience. His response was that it happens in most Nigerian's home in the UK. I was like na by force. Even in Nigeria that things are hard, you don't see people switching off lights whenever they've got visitors!.

Don't get me wrong, I do understand how difficult it is for some, but doing it to the extreme is just too mean. Of course I switch off all lights when I don't have visitors or friends around. People are just too stingy in England, even to themselves. However, every weekend, you'll see them all dressed in new clothes, jewellery, shoes and so on, where the money coming from?

last week I was listening to this Redeemed brother. We were discussing people that blesses Pastors. He made me realise that even if those money or materials given to these Pastors were or are fraudulently acquired, it does not make any difference. He said where sin abound, grace does much much abound (Romans 5:20). I looked at him and almost punched him in the face, holy spirit helped him

@all, Whilst I appreciate all contributions being made on this topic, I'll however like to add few more things just to redirect us to the main issue.

What do we call success in this dispensation? Here, we're referring to the Church. Churches are  now judged as successful based on the numbers of branches, Cars or planes the Pastors cruise on, how big the building is and not necessarily the numbers of born-again.

In the Acts of apostles, we see how the Church was added thousands of new converts without necessarily seeking to build a new Church. Each province is provided with a Church (a huge one), this is done to avoid cumbering the province (area) with Churches.  But you look at today's Churches; Redeemed for instance, I'm sure if look very closely to where you live, you'd count 5 of them! why?, the more these Churches are closer to you, the more money the Church will make. They don't even want you to go any where else. This strategy is working perfectly. You'd think they're doing this to ease transportation, sorry to burst your bubble, no!

Christians are very sceptical, naive and are not courageous enough. God says test all spirits whether they from HIM. The day we stopped thinking, questioning,reasoning and being critical, that is the day we should join the animal world! It took God six days to create the world; six days of serious thinking and reasoning! The Bible accounts that on the seventh day God rested. Well, you wouldn't rest if you're not exhausted, would you?|

All Christians are M.O.G's and all Christians's have got their own ministry. If you find yourself on the Pulpit preaching every time, then your ministry is to Pastor (lead) people, if you sing, that's your ministry and so on. " Touch not my anointed, " is no longer required and can no more be used between Christians; you say that to the Herbalists in your neighbourhood, the Wizard and Witches in your family and so on. The radical Jesus's apostles criticized one another for failure of duty, how much more we that are now experiencing such a grace wonderfully bestowed upon us.

The congregation don't make a pastor rich. Why is every pastor not rich. A pastor is first a christian . Every christian live by giving, a pastor live by giving also. The message of prosperity is for all to believe and act upon. If you believe in it ,it works for you. Many people testify how much they have prospered by acting their faith through giving. It's a spiritual law. It is false hood when some say members make a pastor rich and the members are poor.  What of all the testimonies in churches of how the word if zgod or giving had caused them to prosper. Some members have given gifts to their pastors in appreciation of the prodpeity that has come upon them through their ministry.

You're the most silliest piece of poo on this forum. Pastors are rich because they give abi? Give to who in particular? You mean the broke people in your Pastor's Church don't give? Let me correct this notion now before you start your ignorant propaganda. Church members give more than the Pastors just that their time of blessing is yet to come.

Your Pastor (General Overseer) take from these innocent people and promise them financial breakthrough just by paying tithe and giving to the Church. Financial breakthrough does not come from paying tithe or giving only to the Church, it comes from money management, being creative and doing charity works.

A brother would come to Church and bless Pastor with a substantial amount (even if he had defrauded someone), the Pastor would immediately attribute the brothers "success" to paying tithe; an ignorant and fraudulent assumption from them.

If giving automatically brings about financial breakthrough (without other factors), then Mr Sunday Adeniyi should be rich. The likes of brother Tunji, Dapo, Femi, Nnamdi, Chi and the rest who many can testify to their giving ministry should be financially buoyant. Church members give and pay their tithes, yet almost 80% of them live below poverty line.

Not that I don't appreciate the enormous task and efforts Pastors do put into making our lives better, they always expect something back from you which to me is fair. Ofcourse God wants us to give HIM thanks every now and then for the blessings we receive of HIM, how dare these Pastors compare themselves with GOD? "Jesus was rich and his garment was expensive" has always been the motor of most pentecostal Pastors.

I attended a friend's Church (just growing) on invitation last Sunday and I could see the efforts of both the Pastor and the members in trying to look for a bigger venue. Growing Churches put a lot of burden on their members; money, time and prayer wise. Just this evening, the same friend invited me again for a 6:00am service tomorrow (Saturday). I was like, why all this wahala? I told her I ain't gonna come. She said its going be a special service with a guest speaker. I then educate her about most guest speakers. They'd come to either beg, curse or manipulate you to giving all your money. These guys would pray for you, but at the end, the real mission would be to tell you to give your tithe or remain poor.

I don't want to be religious, but just want to do the ministry God has called me into. Most gullible xtians would rather give their offering or tithe than helping a brother in need. They have been so cajoled, marooned, manipulated and brainwashed in believing that giving to the Church is the only form of giving. some would even tell you "i don't have any money with me except my offering and tithe money" Excuse me? What is "my tithe and offering money?"

Xtians are so stingy and tight-handed, they always expect money miracles. They miss you when you've attended service for a long time, what about those times you've been away? The hypocrisy of Xtianity is just so appalling that it has beginning to affect my way of reasoning, although my intellect still function perfectly.

Just of recent Creflo Dollar was interviewed about a comment he made regarding tithe. Creflo said he would love to see those non-tithe payers get shot . He said no tithe paying, no money coming to you. The US govt have recently sent him an invite to come and account for his wealth. Don't see this happening in 9ja though.

Pastors profess they preach the word of God, but their main aim is to enrich themselves. A Pastor came on TEJU BABYFACE SHOW and was commended for the growth of his Church and the wealth he now possess. He did not even deny that the Church had made him rich. He said he could remember when he was broke and living in his home state. He came to Lagos, got some small money to start a Church, then Gbam!

Ask most of these Millionaires Pastor about their wealth, they'd deny it to your face that the Church has made them who they are today. Gullible and silly Church members would also support their theory and crap as well. They always have good intentions in the beginning, but money, money would make you change your language people!

To maintain the status quo these guys would do anything for money. Twisting scriptures is now the order of the day. Big grammar and vocabulary now convinces the silliest church goer into believing what the man of God is saying. This is not a topic for Pastors bashing but just keeping it real.

What happen to community Churches? Why don't we all stay under one big roof and see the awesomeness of GOD. The sooner a Church get lil bigger, the quicker donations to build another Church would be sort after. As soon as a Senior Pastor sees how big and how much money is coming in for the Church he presides over, he would quickly receive a calling to start his own Church.

I now understand the Oyakhilome's, the Ashimolowo's, Adeboye's, Oyedepo and so on. They understand the secret of how to acquire wealth. Whether you do it fraudulently or by any other means, your tithe is welcomed!

Lately, I found Church going so boring and very predictable. The same old story. Trend continued every Sunday! Choir sing, Pastor calls out those with testimonies, Pastor testify self as a perfect example of those blessings, and so on. At the end of the day, the sermon is gonna end up with either '5 or 10' things you must do to get blessed or get rich.

The funny part is, when you get on the internet, either on yahoo or hotmail page, you see the same "5 or 10" things to do before you get rich. Secular people have always followed these latter simple steps and are reaping the benefit. But come to think about it, these steps doesn't even include TITHING. Secular people understand the power behind getting rich. You don't even have to be a Xtian to get blessed or rich. It all boils down to CHARITY (which comes in form of an offering, either to a Church, group or individual).

The difference between a Xtian and an non-believer is the belief they hold. Aside from the belief, all factors, mode,,steps and ways of getting rich or blessed remain same. Christians are not in any way better financially than non-Xtians or unbelievers. Just unfortunate that most of our Pastors have brainwashed many in relation to making money. Is it me or that the reason many go to Church is to be better off financially? I love to go to Church to worship God and sing those beautiful heavenly songs to HIM, that's just me!

Praise and Worship time is getting smaller and smaller, and longer hours for sermon. Half of the sermon is now used in emphasising the reason to pay tithe. In my Church, the Pastor preached for 60 minutes on tithe alone, and that was just part one. The next sunday, part two was preached. I got so bored and irritated. I noticed a lot of my friends and some members of the congregation were'nt pleased as well. The problem is, we have the consciousness that something ain't right somewhere, but we lack boldness and audacity to dare mention it. We were under a kinda spell and shadow. Church obedience and service had consumed us.

The man of God to us then was always perfect and was always getting everything spot on.

My friend, unfortunately, the child can reside in the UK but the mum would still be illegal after her visa runs out. The Zambrano ruling does not confer the right to work or live to the parents of the child( see the immigration rules), except one of the parent has either a British passport or ILR.

Mind you, the child is still not and can not become a British citizen except one of the parent is settled here. A child is a EU citizen when he/she is a citizen of a member state. The child can register to be a British citizen after residing in the UK for 10 years and above. EC Art20  still applies( i.e parents can reside legally with a child born in a member state) but only in a member state where the child automatically becomes a citizen after birth, this is not the case in the UK.

Sorry, ma bad! 4got the child is weeks old. Regarding the authority, leave that one!. I will suggest @poster that you obtain a 9ja passport. It now take up to six months to get an interview date, but don't worry, after printing your payment and acknowledgement receipt (it shows your interview date), go straight to the embassy and tell them you have an emergency at home. They'll allow you in and you can then either seek for a TC or passport for your child.

I suggest you go for the TC because you might not have enough days on your visa to stay behind for the passport processing. More so, because you're leaving for Nigeria, you won't be questioned as such. They already wants you and your child out in the first place.

Prison? no, what about firing squad?!!! Anywaz, @poster listen, Your child can not travel out of the country without a valid passport (British or any valid stamp) because she was born here. Best option, get her a Nigerian passport then leave her with a relative or friend that's got a British passport or ILR to be her legal guardian.

By doing this, your friend or relative would then register the child as a British citizen by birth. You can visit anytime to see your child. if you want your child to come with you to 9ja  as a visitor, you have to get a written permit from the legal guardian. Make sure you return her back not more than 90 days. She's still your child as long as you don't declare it

To those living in 9ja,  Do you remember when your family or friend first landed in the UK; the phone calls they make every now and then when they were still jobless? They had no responsibility then; they had no idea of what was to come; the reality check.  Now they got a job, and the first few months, they started sending money to friends/family. But soon afterwards, they got drove out from where they were staying. They started paying rent and faced with numerous bills.

Their phone calls to 9ja suddenly dropped due to the pressure of life. Compounding the issue are those in 9ja themselves. Each time the Londoner called to say hello, demands are placed upon them sharp sharp. This tend to limit the amount of time they call 9ja because someone somewhere is just waiting for them to call to demand money or BB.

Those in 9ja find it difficult to believe that those in the UK get broke too. And the one reason that stops them from sending money to 9ja is their immigration status. A lot are spending thousands of pounds to regularise their stay, hence, the shortage or limit to their sending money. Pray for them people, and stop nagging. Chances is that with a good paper, they'll have a stable/lucrative job, but with no papers; early morning awaits them, and thats bad for you guys in 9ja.

When did that verse of scripture you quoted becomes Pastor Chris's? So you're telling me that since you gave to life to Christ, you don't understand or have never heard that verse interpreted that way before? I'm sorry for you.

Pastor Chris just said what hundreds of preachers have been saying for years. Just because he said it does not make it sound any better than most NL's here. You guys are just so incensed with this guy. 

Pls tell me, what is so difficult to graps with 2 Corinthians 3:18? The verse is self explanatory. You can translate it whichever way you want, especially when you're Pastor Chris. Being overly spiritual is like a baseless structure waiting for disaster.

I'm not a member of the Redeemed Christian Church, but I tell you this, we (other Churches except C.E) attend their Festival of Life gathering to worship God and not man. I'm not even a fan of the G.O himself. It's high time you guys started thinking about making changes to your life and repent!
