Cue: Like I said earlier just because a crime would not have made any difference does not justify it. The rule says no rigging. If this is proven, then some punishment is necessary. |

seguno2: Do not blame Buhari for under aged voters. It was INEC and the PDP led government headed by GEJ that registered them. If they were not registered, they would not have voted. Buhari is not in control of INEC and should not be blamed for its lapses. As for Bakare, he would speak when he is ready. |

I agree that elections in the south east did not fully comply with electoral act. First the open-secret ballot was not fully followed. Where I voted it was possible for other voters to see the choice you have made. It is also possible for people to see voting pattern. So, if someone sees almost everyone voting for a particular party, they may follow the crowd. Then I also have it on good authority that GEJ biscuit was shared in some polling units which sounds like campaigning on Election Day. Then rigging took place after the voting with empty ballot papers being thumbprinted, these accounts for the high voter turnout in the region. Do not get me wrong, GEJ may still have won SE and SS without rigging, but that does not justify the rigging. Here is an analogy: Assuming someone suffering from a terminal illness is killed by someone, will the killer then argue in court that since the person will still have died anytime soon that he should not be charged for his murder. That means that our thieving politicians can argue that if they did not steal the money they are stealing now someone else would have done so. My point is that just because a crime would not have made a difference does not justify it. The question is, while they were rigging the election, did they know they would win? They would have known they would win in SE or SS, but they may not have been sure of the rest of Nigeria. So, the aim of the rigging would have been to give GEJ as many votes as possible in the region to neutralise the effects of losses he may suffer in other parts of Nigeria. If the man feels cheated he should question the results at least it is better than violence. For the records the elections were a lot better than 2007, but it is by no means a standard for other countries in Africa. But of course, it is easy for a people who have been in hell for too long to mistake purgatory as haven. |

Threads like this should not be making it to the front page. Most comments are not helping but simply inciting more hate. We in the south may think we are better than the north. The fact is that we feel as much hate for them going by the comments I have seen in this thread and similar ones. The only difference is that they express their hate with action while we use senseless comments. |

bros1234: Leave Buhari out of this. If the PDP led government had invested enough in education over the past 12 years, the ignorance that fuels such senseless violence would have been dealt with by now. PDP still governs most of the states in the north, if these govts had done enough the people would not be easily manipulated. So, blame PDP and not Buhari please. |

Today no party will win an election on pro-slavery sentiment. I am not expecting any magic, you do not need magic to provide electricity or build the Benin Ore express road. Or are you asking me to build the road with my money while GEJ and his friends help themselves with our collective wealth. It is probably because of people like you that we have irresponsible leaders. |

It is your heart that would be broken when your messiah dashes all your hopes in the next four years with fresh excuses. The only thing GEJ can do now is to surprise me by proving me wrong, but I doubt the coconut can do just that. |

The guy is probably a Psycho, get out before he kills you!!!!!!! He could also be beating you out of frustration, maybe he is sick and tired of you and you just don’t want to let him be. So, beating might just be his latest strategy in his grand plan of getting rid of you. I implore you to get the message because if you don’t and I am right the beating is only going to increase until you leave or die, whichever comes first. Men also beat women, when they blame them for something, like may be business not going smoothly or no job anymore. When he remembers how he has squandered his money on you in the past without saving, he begins to see you as a witch (enemy of his progress) and will want to beat the witch out of you. There may also be another girl in the equation that makes him happy so, he now sees you as standing between him and happiness and like any obstacle you need to be beaten down. No matter what his reason is your best move is to leave. |
Politics / Re: How GEJ Will Win On Saturday Foretold by passyjango(m): 2:23pm On Apr 15, 2011 |
What will actually happen if GEJ wins or is it just that he will win? This is just like Super Eagles winning a match, after the celebration all of us will go back to our miserable lives with no jobs, no admissions, no electricity, and no security. We will all continue to take risks to get out this hell called Nigeria crossing the Sahara desert on foot and swimming the Meditation Sea just to end our suffering, while the true winners of the event enjoy their winnings and loot. |

Politics / Re: Gen. Buhari Is Very Desperate To Become President. by passyjango(m): 9:59pm On Apr 13, 2011 |
@jmaine For the fact that you based your entire argument on a sentence ignoring the whole point of the argument, shows you are just a spinner. How are you different from a pastor who bases his entire sermon on a verse ignoring all the other verses that go contrary to his preaching, just for some selfish gains? To break it down for you considering my recent diagnosis of your intellectual capacity, my point is that we as a people have no moral justification to label men like IBB, Abacha, or OBJ as evil, while condoning, adoring, and supporting men perpetuating even graver evils today. Men whose evil actions have more impact on our lives today than the ones we perceive as evil. |

jmaine: Did you deduce this and the rest of the rubbish you posted from my post or are you just on crack? Instead of answering the critical questions you are busy spinning and beating about the bush. Did I support military rule in my post or you are just intellectually challenged? To refresh your memory I will repeat the question here. Are public office holders (including GEJ) still not looting? Are journalists still not being killed? Are people still not being assassinated? Are corrupt people still not being protected by the state? Is the First Lady's office (Federal, States, and LGAs) still not used for money laundering? So, what is the difference between IBB and the average Nigerian politician of today (GEJ inclusive)? For example, GEJ was a governor for 2 years, yet as part of his presidential campaign he cannot point to anything he achieved. All we are hearing is that he did not wear shoes to school. So, why do we see the endorsement of GEJ by the governors as okay, but an endorsement from IBB as bad? Is IBB more dangerous to Nigeria than an average Nigerian governor? We really need to check our heads as we are allowing our biases to affect our thinking. IBB is no saint, but he is a lot better than some of the people in government today, even some of the ones we adore. So, let’s open our eyes and fight corruption of today. Yesterday is gone, today and tomorrow is what counts. |

jmaine: How is the regime of Abacha different from the past 12 years? Why do we always prefer to dwell in the past, while the same evils we focus on in the past are still taking place today? We have bought this idea that men like IBB, Abacha, OBJ, etc are evil, but this men are only decoys used to distract us from seeing the fact that all the atrocities that we accuse them of is still taking place today. While we focus on atrocities of the past, today's leaders are busy committing the same crimes without any checkmates. Are public office holders (including GEJ) still not looting? Politics / Re: Jonathan In Secret Meeting With Tinubu, Others by passyjango(m): 1:25pm On Apr 12, 2011 |
South West will vote for GEJ for president, and GEJ ensures no rigging from his PDP "rascals" in the South West. Such a deal will only work if the governorship elections will take place first. Making a deal with a snake like GEJ with a history of not keeping agreements (eg PDP zoning agreement) is useless except if he keeps his own side of the bargain first. |
Politics / Re: Jonathan In Secret Meeting With Tinubu, Others by passyjango(m): 12:27pm On Apr 12, 2011 |
This is rubbish and only fooools will believe this. If GEJ went to Lagos he is probably there to meet Bode George to perfect rigging strategy for Lagos. ACN and Tinubu know that any deal with PDP will only hurt ACN. They should ask ANPP how their deal with PDP played out. I am sure that 2003 will still be fresh in their minds. Besides this story is suspect. You just have to read the second paragraph to decode the intention of this crap. The story is aimed at selling GEJ and creating doubt in the minds of people on the stand of ACN. I expect ACN to debunk such news soon and I hope that the admin will put it on the front page when that happens. |

Politics / Re: Jonathan Has Shown He Can Be Trusted! So He Still Gets My Vote by passyjango(m): 4:27pm On Apr 11, 2011 |
If we can commend GEJ for what looks like free and fair elections, then we should also blame him for his failures in jobs creation, roads, electricity, friendly business climate, poverty alleviation, fight against corruption, health, etc. One out of ten to me is still a failure. Nigerian leaders are irresponsible, when things work they take credit but when it fails they blame past administrations, the military, or the British. If GEJ takes credit for the achievements of Jega, then he must also take knocks for the failure of all other appointed office holders including, Waziri (the EFCC boss), who has been a hopeless failure so far. |
Politics / Re: Jonathan Has Shown He Can Be Trusted! So He Still Gets My Vote by passyjango(m): 9:32pm On Apr 10, 2011 |
GEJ chose Jega because then he was still basking in the euphoria of his massive support by Nigerians because of his persecution by Turai (the first unofficial female president of Nigeria) and her cabal. He never would have predicted that by now his popularity would have waned. He was also very weak then and was under pressure from Nigerians and western countries to appoint a candidate that would be perceived as credible. He needed to do this to gain some trust and popularity and it worked for a while. For me, it is God that made things to play out the way they did. If GEJ had more time to settle down before appointing the INEC chairman perhaps we would have been singing a different song by now. But if he can successfully pull-this-off, history will perhaps judge him well. However, I will still not vote for him because he is a coconut head and a grandmaster of thieves. Leadership position is not a gift to be given out as a reward. It is a position of responsibility and only responsible people should be leaders. |

nadkaf: I am not afraid of getting old or afraid of criticisms or insults. I am not suffering from inferiority complex, if I deserve some knocks, I will accept it in good fate. My submission is that respect should be accorded to all old or young, based only on their exemplary character. Unconditional, respect for elders is one of the weaknesses of African culture and one reason why Africa lacks behind the rest of the world. |

erastus75: It is because of people like you that Nigeria remains in a very bad condition. You respect elders that steal your money, while you wallow in poverty. No jobs, no admissions into higher institutions, no electricity, no good roads. I am a new Nigerian, I do not respect age. You can only earn my respect through good character. GEJ is contesting for president but can he name any project he did while governor of Bayelsa state. All he can tell us is that he was not born rich. So as you can see, GEJ remains a coconut head and the grandmaster of thieves. You can believe what you want. After all a lot of people smoke cigarette and take alcohol based on adverts, hearsay or peer pressure. Alcohol is often advertised as if it makes you stronger and smarter, but you and I know that this is false. My point is that just because a product is packaged and marketed well does not mean it is a good product. Before buying a product read customer reviews and research on the product. Your claim on the goodness of Jonathan is it based on objective reasoning and research or what you saw in an advertorial paid for with your money? |

He has settled some of our stars in the entertainment industry and they are now singing his song and some of our gullible people are buying it. GEJ chose Jega because then he was still basking in the euphoria of his massive support by Nigerians because of his persecution by Turai (the first unofficial female president of Nigeria) and her cabal. Nigerian media organisations are a big disgrace. If they know their jobs, by now results for most parts of the country would have been known. They should have organised themselves and created platforms for Nigerians to upload results. They could have also recruited people or worked with civil society organisations and election monitors to get result uploaded. That was what happened in Ghana's last election within 8 hours media organisations were already displaying the result, yet with all our failings we still call ourselves the giant of Africa. There is no law that states that media organisations cannot display results; all the law states is that INEC is the authority that declares the winner. Nigerians need to learn about collaboration and pulling of resources to achieve goals. Enough of lazy journalism. With all the mobile phones in this country we still do not know the results by now. Why are we spending billions importing phones if it is not useful when it matters most? It is a big shame. |
