Lordlexy: Bros o, you have summarised it wella. This lenghty rhetoric by lastpage to thrive point is unnecessary. America will remain ever respected for the role it plays to insist on respect for human life. When a suppose legitimate govt decided to open fire on it citizens just as Saddam Hussein freely used chemical on its ppl for demanding that he step down and you expect the west to back down. The impunity, attrocities and disrespect perpetuated by Saddam, Ghadafi and Assad against its ppl are long over do which necessitated the western intervention. Anyone faulsly accusing America of being responsible for the protest is being economical with the truth. What of that of Baraihn, saudi, tunisia? Was it also masterminded by the West? America has equaly condemned the crack down on the ppl by the above mentioned govt, but its refusal to directly get involved is because the situation has not escalated to the point of opening fire on its ppl as saddam, Assad and late Ghaddafi were known to have done. Israel is mainly capitalising on the situation to weaken any future threat from iran and syria. So blaming U.s for any up rising is not only malicious but an attempt to give her a bad name as usual.
When did Saddam open fire on his people? Where did you ever read or hear there was protest against Saddam Hussein before America's invasion?

Messi j: Assad should be very wicked that he cant see D number of D dead in his country to step down. This is a case of only u and ppl are just wasting in millions 4 it. He should call 4 a handover strategy to make post-transition era free of militias in D country aftr he has left, so as there wil be organization, peace and safty.
I gues we can come start a riot in ur area and solicit finance from every GEJ hater, it won't matter if we're minority, so long as we show lives are being lost and GEJ is 'unwanted' that qualifies him to leave Aso Rock. Yipeeee!!, ryt?

Demdem: those multitudes that went out to protest against Assad for months in Syria. Assad crushed them. Those are his countrymen that no longer want him and not france, UK etc
Which multitudes? The ones you counted during your referendum abi?

I suppose it doesn't matter how many people come out in supposed 'protest' anymore, so long as the west has certified them as majority, they are the majority, right?

And while you're still running the figures, do you know how many people died during Occupy bla bla protests in US and other western countries? Well, you may not so google and see the figures. They covered up so it wouldn't look significant.

That last one brings us to; No government will ever tolerate any threat to its existence. More so, the moment you pick up arms against the government, you lose every right to protection. QED

If you're picking arms against the government, you must be darn ready to see it through! You don't start the fight and start crying unfair advantage, like seriouslyhuh!!! If your struggle is legit and you have 'the majority' it will NEVER take this long to topple an 'unwanted government'.

lastpage: It appears so many Nigerians are just too idiotic and naieve!
I understand some of them here on Nairaland are just kids with an internet service on their computer/phone! shocked shocked

Let me give a brief summary:

1.) Israel needs to dominate the middle east (all of them are Islamic/Arab countries).

2.) Israel alone cannot defeat all the Arab nations (those guys like to band together anyway), even if it can, it will be a very costly war.

3.) Israel, twisting America's arm (it has infiltrated all facets of America and can be said to control America), uses American weapon and military power to fight its own enemies. It goes as far as attacking America and leting America and the World think its the Arabs that did it (case in point is 9/11).

4.) One after the other, America has been demolishing Israel's Arab/Muslim enemies in the Middle East.

5.) The most stubborn were Iraq, Iran and Syria. They pitted Iraq against Iran (supplied Iraq with chemical weapons to fight Iran). When Iraq could not do the job, they attacked and destroyed Iraq itself, using 9/11 and WND as excuses.

6.) Now, Israel has Iran as its target but... to get Iran, you need to destroy Syria first and weaken smaller islamic entities like Hezbollah (Lebanon) and the Palestinians as well.

7.) The pretext is always "Democracy"! Israeli and American Agents (CIA) brings in money to sponsor dissent/anger in these countries (Go and read the story about the Shah of Iran and how America toppled a democratic Govt there, read about Allende of Chile too and so on). Every country has its own opposition who wants to be in power. Even America has the Republicans, now that Democrats are in power.

8.)Question is: Are you supposed to change a government by force? What would Obama do today, if another country gives "Money and Weapons" to the republicans and ask them to change the American elected Govt by force? Why are the "opposition in these islamic countries" always using the slightest excuse to carry weapons and fight their Govt? Even in Israel, there are oppositions but they are never encouraged to carry weapons and fight the elected government!

9.) The "grand plan" is to destroy these countries INTERNALLY (from inside) and make them too weak to challenge israel, ....if need be, without going into an open war! Its the "cheapest option".
We are not just blaming Israel just for the sake of it,... EVIDENCE points to Israel as the "Esau's hand" working behind the scene, in these conflicts.

10.) Why did Obama/America pronounce that Assad will be crossing the "red-line" if he uses Chemical weapons (and America would intervene using its military) in the early stages of this uprising, even when there was no need of such? What message would that have sent (is that sending) to the rebels?

11.) Why is it now that Assad is actually almost defeating the Rebels .... that he would not do something to invite America to intervene on behalf of the rebels? Even if it is you, will you be that stewpid?
Who will gain if America intervenes? (The rebels of course).
Point is, Assad does not need to use Chemical weapons to win this rebel fight, he has the "state armoury" at his disposal, he has better trained soldiers, he has everything going for him!

12.)The Rebels on the other hand, have been crying and begging for weapons for some months now.
The Rebels need the "game changer" very badly because they are losing ground rapidly.
We have seen videos of these rebels doing "evil things" that no civilized humanbeing must do.
We have seen videos of Rebel stockpiles of "crude chemical weapons" they manufactured with shipments from Qatar and Saudi Arabia.
We have seen videos of the rebels "testing" these chemical weapons on smaller animals and saying this is how Assad and his supporters will die! Its there on the internet.

13.) We have seen evidence that America is and has been manipulating the U.N. ..; Exposed 'NSA reports' have shown how America intercepts and change communication between this international Agencies.
We have seen how even the U.N accepted and concluded that there was WMD in Iraq (only to confirm later there is NONE!). So, the U.N itself does the bidding of America and cannot be trusted and that is why Assad govt does not want them to investigate or trust their investigations.

14.) Bottom line: the Rebels will do anything to "force America to intervene on their behalf", including using Chemical weapons on their own people and blaming it on Assad.

15.) When America intervenes finally (just a matter of time and l know its only waiting for a legitimate, however stewpid excuse to do so. If it was a republican govt in power, they would have gone inside and toppled the govt of Assad long ago, those ones are simply war-mongers .... and Americas economy will keep going down anyway), when America intervenes finally, America will topple the Assad govt and put/install its own puppet there but like in Libya and Egypt, they will be "core Islamist terrorist" who would use the weapons America gave them, to attack America in the nearest future! grin grin

16.) After Assad govt is brought down and chaos reigns in Syria and it is weakened very well, then, America and Israel can now gang-up and FOCUS ON IRAN! Iran has always been the golden geese, the main target, the main prize!

That my friend is the ultimate goal: Weaken and destroy all opposition to Israel in the middle East, make Israel the unchallengeable, dominant power so that it can ride rough-shod over all those countries there.
Israel is afraid of its past, its apartheid and its stealing of Palestinian lands but it is too afraid, too selfish and too wicked to change its ways. It can only go forward and cant go back.

I am not a Muslim, l am not in support of dictatorship (which Assad and people like Mubarak are), l am not in favor of using force to change governments, l dont hate or dislike America or Israel, l dont like terrorist but l am smart enough to see through all these lies and deceit that is going on now.
I see the "BIG PICTURE'.
Lengthy but On Point!

otipoju: Ese Walters… I admire your courage you are indeed a brave woman.
I was a student of Religion for five years at OAU and had a about a dozen married clergy men in my class.some of them did all sorts from cheating on tests and exams, sleeping with girls on Campus and one of them told me that if push come to shove ,he saw nothing wrong with being fortified spiritually by his herbalist mother.

All i can say is that i have experienced so much hypocrisy in churches that a time i cringed at the thought of attending.Although i had to console myself with the story in Job where Satan was gathered with the sons of God. Nevertheles when someone is ramming religious lingo in my ears incessantly, i become wary of that person cause i have come to realise that they are the ones capable of committing the gravest atrocities without batting an eyelid.

I believe your story cause the truth in them is evident . Most christians have placed their pastors on a pedestal that simply does not exist. For me your pastor’s sin does not comprise in the adultery itself -cause anybody can fall into temptation but in his unwilliness to see it as sin, a total lack of guilt nor remorse for falling short of God’s will and his willingness to continue sleeping with you inspite of the pain and guilt that you were experiencing.

If only he knew the wieght of Jesus word “Whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him if a great millstone were hung around his neck and he were thrown into the sea, he would never have tried to take you to a ”higher level of grace”.

I am happy for you because confessing your sin before God and men will surely bring the required healing that you need. and that no matter how his followers, family and friends ostracise you, for wanting to “destroy him” as they choose to view it, rather than chide him for bieng a charlatan, there are some of us who have drawn strength from your desire to please your maker.

I would also plead with you to set him free in your heart because hating him will only eat you up.
One day you will find someone who will love you in spite of all that has happened and will be man enough to stand on the side of truth and damn the world.
God bless you for this comment my brother. God bless you!!!

I was beginning to think this thread was only opened to senseless elements to drop ludicrous comments. It beats my imagination how people leave the Pastors aside only to bash the lady in question.

You need to imagine the psyche of that first encounter, go back, read it again and visualize the psychological reality. Many of you have idolized your pastors beyond the acceptable levels of reverence and admiration.

For this reason, they (ur pastors) should live up to the pedestal their followers have placed them.

I dare say, the moment they accept that calling to be pastors, they have become super-human, and they must live up to it. The reason we hold them in high esteem is because of their calling, therefore, THEY ARE NOT Allowed to make mistakes.

Yes! They must be perfect. If not, what differentiates them from I, the regular worshiper?

................... Good morning sir.
I say good morning to you even when it's after noon, because your own day is just breaking. To be sincere, your administration proved that young people can perform administratively. How the success got to your head to the extent of insulting the president, I don't know. Did you Still remember how you tongue washed him at Vanguard newspaper award ceremony? Can you tolerate that from LGA chairman? As you're the leader of PDP in rivers state, so the president to the Nation. You know how you manhandled those who disobeyed your orders, how you expect to be pampered by the president for disobeying him by contesting NGF CHAIRMANSHIP, I don't know. Bible said, obedience is better than sacrifice, but you prefer to disobey now your sacrifice resign. See, when war is declared, two things are involved, either you kill or you're killed. Like a broken glass, the trust Jonathan have for you can never be amended, and those who urged you to fight him are now making peace with him. Your denial of not having a Presidential ambition is like crying after the head is off. Put on your thinking cap and........

You go to the land and erect shanties, slums etc.I come back several years after

The truth be told, provided you did not buy the land and it is not your inheritance, you

despite the fact that the land is yours or your inheritance, you are still told what and how to build
on it because there is a master plan. If you left your village without penny, what do you expect
in the city, inherit someones land or property?

Please lets use our brains before we make comments abeg.

Tell me something!??!! I didn't kno we needed sacrifices Ooo. . . Thought what we needed was to balance policies in a humane manner E.G having temporary transit quaters/shelter for those to be displaced, better still; actual accomodation they can put up and their old place, when finished, can be allocated to other residents. Anyhow the government chooses; people should only sacrifice as much as the government is responsible towards their well being.

Now the big question, who will pay for the re-development of the area meant for demolition? Will home/land owners still 'own' property? Can we get guarantee previous occupants can return afterwards?

If you're demolishing because its 'for their own good', then by all mean they must return there after re-construction. Will this happen? If your answer is No, then we need not stress our cute brains further on Fashola's monstrosity.
