Mcuzy:you don't get it! God is not the one passing out judgement to people who commit crimes or sin, humans are the one to pass that judgement here in this life. Revelation 20:15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life(not whosever commit sin) was cast into the lake of fire. How did peoples name got into the book of life? Because they believed in Christ that's all, Not because they did not commit sin. 1 John 1:8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. So, God is not the one passing judgement to people who commit sin, rather, humans should be the one passing out the judgement to them. Now, how do humans pass out these judgement? They create laws in their country against these crimes. So anyone torturing a fellow human to death unjudiciously should face the law, that is enough reason to stop commit sin, not the fear of any hell fire. |

OtemAtum:really? That means you should know virtually everything about this physical life since you have come in contact with these spirits and they must have informed you so much ![]() |

You will agree with in me that those who calls themselves born again are all chronic sinners like anyone else. All the born again people i have ever known starting from the days i used to call myself born again till this moment i have come to know this truth, they are all terrible, miserable subtle and dangerous people, dangerous to even themselves unknowingly. like the Pharisees in the bible they put on garments appearing to be modest, but meanwhile, deep in their heart they are not different from anyone else. ![]() Now, look at it this way : almost more than half of Nigerian Christian population claim to be born again. These people go to church every Sunday and a vast number of them have become politicians, administrators, governors, presidents, vice-presidents, head of council's, senators, house of representatives etc. But guess what? Nothing has changed in the corrupt status of the nation in quote. Rather, things are even becoming worst. What does this tells you? There is nothing like born again in the real sense |
OtemAtum:there is no way a human being can be alive and he doesn't have beliefs. Having belief is a thing of the mind, it's a product of how our minds interact with our environment using our five senses. So, you cannot escape having beliefs so long you are alive. If you like use the most suitable contemporary word for beliefs : call it idea or concept or knowledge it is still the same thing. 1+ 1= 2 is knowledge, it also a belief. some people can still doubt that knowledge. If you ask them what is 1+1? they can tell you it is 3, that is their own, they don't want to know anything else. |
OtemAtum:that means, you believe what you know. In either case, you still believe something. |
OtemAtum:exactly ! And that is why Christians believe in Jesus Christ and that is our heaven, and Muslim believes in Muhammad and that is their heaven. In summary, heaven is what is in our minds in the real sense. If you are an atheist and you believe God do not exist, that is your own heaven. But the only distinguishing factor is what will happen after we all die. As for hell, there is no place like that. God Almighty, the Creator of Jehovah, Allah etc will not allow any god to imagine such a place for human souls. The one imagined millions of years ago by some bad beings like Jehovah, Allah, El, Enlil etc have been made not to exist anymore and there will be none again.if that your believe, that is heaven to you, it is your heaven ![]() |
Mcuzy:the meaning of word hell as used in ancient English as at the time the bible was documented is GRAVE. So he'll means grave, and you know what graves are meant for? Dead people or dead souls , if ur right hand causes u to sin cut it off it is better for u to enter heaven whit an hand than to go too hellthis is parable and this is what is means : The right hand or right eye signifies a religion, That religion is Judaism(religion of the Jews) and religion was part of the culture and tradition of the Israelites so they value their religion like the way they will value their eyes or hand and would not want them to cut off. Now, Jesus was telling them cut off that religion or old covenant from you. It is better to enter into the new covenant with your old covenant cut off from you. Remember the Jews were also expecting Christ and the new covenant which is God's kingdom to come at that time but they never knew jesus talking to them was the Christ. whole where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth . How can u gnashing teeth when don't exist?see, gnashing of teeth simply means to regrate. It refers to the Jews regrating that they did not accept that Jesus they saw as the Christ afterall. So, you see how it goes ![]() |

Gathering isn't bad! Only that you should go there to be enlightened or educated of scriptures, then you catch your fun interacting with fellow Christians. But a situation where you go there and present yourself to be brainwashed by fallacy preachers, then it's better you don't go at all ![]() |
To answer this question, the summary of what the bible is trying to let us know is that, this life we are living is the heaven we need, only that you have to be a christian in this life to be in heaven. meaning, if you are not a Christian you are not in heaven. Matthew 3:2 And saying, Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. Meaning, heaven is near. That was John the Baptist preaching. As at the time John the Baptist was preaching this to the people, Jesus was already on earth. Jesus was to bring the kingdom to earth at this death and resurrection, so when John was saying the kingdom is near he was simply saying the death and resurrection of Jesus is near. Now, when Jesus eventually died and resurrected that was how Christianity came to be on earth, so Christianity is the kingdom of God, the heaven on this earth. Heaven is no where else except on this earth, don't be deceived. We are already there. Matthew 12:28 But if I cast out devils by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God is come unto you. The kingdom of God has already come unto men, it is already here with us. Matthew 13:38 The field is the world; the good seed are the children of the kingdom; but the tares are the children of the wicked one; The field is this world, so the kingdom of God is already planted in this world which is the church. Today the church has grown to a stage that it should go beyond religion and all it activities in a building called church. God isn't interested in church buildings and it activities, he is interested in you functioning on this earth. The second question : what is hell fire? He'll fire is simply the opposite of heaven : since heaven is simply life on this earth, hellfire is simply death : a state of no life. Revelation 20:14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. Hell fire can also be described as non Christians on earth : because when they die, they will not resurrect back into this earth with Christ since they did not believe in Christ. John 3:18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. So he'll fire is not fire burning people in mystery, it is simply death : condemnation. There is nothing mysterious in this life, everything created by God is explainable. Luke 8:17 For nothing is secret, that shall not be made manifest; neither any thing hid, that shall not be known and come abroad. Many scriptures were written in parables or figurative languages for this purpose : to confound the Jews and the Pharisees of that generation, not people of today. So, if you are reading parables today in the bible you see hell fire thinking it is fire burning people : you have been confused by figurative language |
to be a Christian means to believe in Christ that's all, nothing more than that. If you like be armed robber or prostitute it doesn't change anything, you are still a Christian. From the stand point of God's view, you are not different from bishop oyedepo and adeboye |
please leave religion, tradition and government out of private business. If there are code of ethics guiding the private business called Babock why should a student not comply? Code of ethics are not restricted to the university campus alone, they are rules that should guide the student behavior where ever they go, so long he or she remains a student in that university The university aim I guess isn't to produce graduates who break rules and code of conducts governing their personal reputation or that of any organization they find themselves in the future. I will suggest that the girl should be reinstated back to the school if she appeal that she regrate her action, what happened to her will serve as a deterent to other students who wish to misbehave willingly in that manner. |
Ihedinobi3:everyone believing in Christ are all Christians |
First of all, there is nothing like born again, we are all Christians equally irrespective of whether you are bad or good. Secondly, salvation is a free gift to all Christians irrespective of who they are. The only condition a Christian can loose his salvation is when he deviate from the faith he had in Christ. without faith it is impossible to please God. So, all these fake stories that a Christian went to hell are all lies. |
If you were born into a Christian home you are saved automatically. But whether you are Christian or not you need to work to acheive success in this life. |
MJBOLT:obviously you are a lunatic that's why you can't read, go and sort out your problem yourself, don't quote me again o
|
And you think i will really have time for your inadequacies? MJBOLT:consult the bible first or ask question about the issue first from a theist, before concluding that there was a mistake, that's what sensible people do.
|
![]() MJBOLT:the point is, God did not create man only to inpute automatic knowledge into his brain. Man have to undergo the learning stages from childhood to adulthood. If imputing automatic knowledge is what atheists were expecting i think that expectation is flawed by natural process, hence you were not thinking straight. ![]() |
MJBOLT:being inspired is not the same as having knowledge. There is a limit of understanding inspiration can help someone to achieve, but having the full understanding has no limitation when it comes to issue. Men were inspired to write scriptures does not mean that the men were all knowing. |
Olivegreen:so long there is mutual agreement between the two people and it's a private affair it's not a sin. But remember, it is irritating. Therefore practicing it openly is a sin because you are infringing on the right of those who are irritated by the sight of it to remain happy not seeing the act. |
GivingUp:but you were told that God is spirit? Why are you then believing God for physical things like money rather than believing him for spiritual things, are you not trying to reap from where you didn't sow like that? |
nlPoster:but it is assumed that it better not to vow at all than to vow and not remit |
michaelwestern:Take a look at this : 1 Corinthians 11:16 But if any man seem to be contentious, we have no such custom(referring to the Jews not having the custom or tradition of their women keeping their head open), neither the churches of God. This implies that Jewish women who shaved their hair were required to cover their head going by the fact that their women usually have thick hairs on their head naturally which was glorious and attractive to men. In other words, if a woman shaved her hair, then she is no more attractive to men and that becomes a shame to her, so she will need to cover that shame. That was the Jewish custom or tradition which was already already practiced in their churches as ordinance and Paul did not go against it. Now, custom or tradition varies among people, for instance what was a custom or tradition among the Jews may not be custom or tradition in Africa. Remember, African women never had long hair naturally like the Jewish women, so long hair was never what attracted men to women talkless of African women feeling ashamed before men to the extent of going to cover their head in shame simply because they did not have long hair. So, it will be very wrong and out of place to use a Jewish custom of jewish women covering their head in church read in the bible as a standard for African women to do the same in their churches, because what was applicable to the Jewish custom may not be applied or fit into the African tradition |
Kulas:dem dey pay salary for church? |
Please, is there offence to vow in church following an alter call at the end the person did not remit the vow for reasons that the money he is expecting failed to come? Will God be angry with such person like you wouldn't have taken the vow in the first place, therefore i will strike your life with poverty or something ? what do you think? |
