May God forgive the repentant sinners.
I didn't know about this pastor until the scandal.
The scandal makes him more popular grin

Also, I didn't know Mrs Dakolo as someone who can make allegations without evidence or proof until the scandal.

Humans with religion sef.

Christians will never understand that God is a very simple God, he does not judge people by their appearance.

Humans made things complicated by creating laws that this is how Christians should dress or not.

Very awkward!

which truth?,
OK, tradition,
That is what you call it and that is exactly what it is.
Traditions can be man made, they can also be reviewed.
Tithing is part of the Church traditions we still have. If you feel the tenth of your money is too much to give God,
not God but man, except you people prove otherwise.
you can go to a non-tithing Church instead of insulting men of God,
ofcourse, i don't need a tithing church. And no one is insulting anyone here grin
I wonder why Christians do these, it really shows levity.
so, you want Christians to be serious in paying tithe?
How is that benefitting Christians?
The ones we paid in the past there was nothing to show for it. Infact, things are really better now that we are not paying anymore how will you explain that?
And how will you explain Dangote not a tithe payer, yet non of your pastors or church members have half of the measure of his wealth?
Again, what are the lies about tithes
And what are the truths?

What are you advocating for?
it's simple!
At first we were told that if we don't pay tithe we are robbing God, they will quote Malachi for that to compel people to pay so that they will not feel that they are robbing God.
After the truth has been revealed and Christians now know that they were not robbing God for not paying tithe afterall, the church have now changed it to tithing is a free will gift to the church.

This is the truth, a man can never rob God who is wiser than man, it's not possible.

it's not about me or even the money the people pay!
It's about enlighting people who are paying the tithe of scriptures, let them know the truth.
And you know the implications of not telling people the truth?
It makes the people not to be intelligent people.
The day these people will end up knowing the truth from the bible about this tithing thing, they will feel that they have been scammed all these while and have been playing the fool, that is when they will know that they were never intelligent in the first place.

And do you know what it means for the people not to be intelligent?
It means, the nation at large will be having serious fundamental issues because there are no intelligent persons to pick among the people to rule as governor or president.
Please tell us these ways.
free will donations of church members for every project the church is embarking is not bad

The Church needs money to perform, tell me which organization can survive without money. From gateman to the priests, they all have to be paid.
You guys don't even ask what are the expenses of a church. let forget buying land and building, which we know is not a small deal,
Generator and fuels
you have to buy Generator, no Church in Nigeria can depend only on the govt for power, The money use for fuel every week is no joke, In my Church we can use 5k for only 3 days.

you need water supply
you need money for musical instruments

except you want a very boring church service you need to buy atleast a keyboard which is about 178k, drum kit, bass guitar, for sound systems we have mics (original ones should be 10k),two sound speakers, amplifiers. If you have choir you have to buy ropes, you need a church bus and others.

In my church pastors have to concentrate full time on their jobs from doing all documentations and paper work to visiting church members. Some rural churches can't even pay their pastors and bigger churches have to take the burdens. In my church, pastors with other jobs aren't even paid at all and so are other church workers, a seton who work all day may receive as low as 15.

Transportation is always problem. I don't know if you expect money to fall from heaven to solve it, the church does a lot of welfare from helping widows to creating schools, which the church member children go to, it not free but it free 'cause they don't pay the school fees and the burden falls on the church again,

most times people come from no where and beg our pastor for money which he can't refuse, the church helps in community development, like tarring the roads since the community like to believe that the church as many money...still typing
there are other ways the church can get money without the use of fraudulent tithing and extortion of vulnerable church members which has no scriptural root
Christianity EtcRe: Beware Of The Satanic Gospels Of Dr. Sunday Adelaja. Part 1. by paxonel(m): 8:29am On Oct 13, 2019
princevinco:
Of a truth, I pity and weep for Sunday Adelaja that a dynamic and vibrant minister of God, who God had used mightily before could now be turned into an empty shell or empty vessel that is now in the hand of the devil to mislead and led multitudes to hell as a result of his many false/ heretic and satanic Gospel he now preaches.

Personally, I have nothing personal against DSA except for these false and satanic gospels he now preaches, which are capable of misleading and leading thousands of Christians to backslide and go to hell.

Be it as it were, the Apostle Paul did not miss a word in what he said in Galatians 1:8-9 which says, but though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.

As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preaches any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed. What Paul was trying to point out here is that any gospel outside the Bible or contrary to the Bible is another gospel and cursed is upon the person that preaches that.

Paul was saying that even if himself or an angel from heaven should preach any other gospel other than the earlier true gospel preached let the person be accursed.

In other words, the current teachings of Dr. Sunday Adelaja are contrary to the teachings of the Bible. As such, it means that DSA is preaching another gospel and is, therefore, a cursed man.

However, this article is not directed to DSA but rather it is a timely warning to Christians to beware of swallowing these false and satanic teachings of DSA.

My dear reader, I join the Apostle Paul in his admonition to Christian in 1 Timothy 1:19 which says, “Holding faith, and a good conscience; which some having put away concerning faith have made shipwreck like DSA.

Apostle Paul went ahead to warn us in 2 Timothy 2:16 that we as Men Of God that we should shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness such as DSA is now teaching.

During the time of Apostle Paul, he gave an example, like Hymenaeus and Philetus whose teachings overthrow the faith of some Christians. 2 Timothy 2:17-18.

And their word will eat as doth a canker: of whom is Hymenaeus and Philetus; who concerning the truth have erred, saying that the resurrection is past already; and overthrow the faith of some.

In other words, like Hymenaeus and Philetus, the heretic/false teachings of DSA are capable of overthrowing the faith of many Christians if they are not careful to run away from such poisonous satanic garbage that DSA is dishing out.

Why are the teachings DSA false and satanic? It is because they contradict what the Bible is embarassed teaching. DSA twists the meaning of Bible verses to support his false teachings. Any teachings that are drawing people away from God is satanic.

For instance, one of his false and satanic teachings is titled, “Why You Don’t Need God to Be Successful”

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hlZKkmBDHCk
And also his most current teaching that you don’t Need To Believe In God to Be Successful On Earth.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H7iWZMGmiAA&feature=push-sd&attr_tag=yiiusIcxH3y2jcpp%3A6

These teachings are the same as saying that you don’t need God to be alive. By the way, why did Jesus come and suffered on the cross? John 10:10 “The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.
It is impossible for a Christian to be successful without God’s blessings as DSA want his gullible followers to believe.

As a Christian, Jesus himself said in John 15:5 “I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing”.

To unbelievers, the above teachings can be correct in the sense that many unbelievers don’t need God to be successful as they can do anything, including waste other people’s lives to be successful or selling their soul to satan.
op, why are you crying?
The man is saying the truth. You don't need God to be successful. God has created everything for us to be successful by ourselves without him, why should you have problem with that, don't you think God has given us free will to decide for ourselves?

I sense you are determined to bring down this man for your own personal reasons only God knows .
Perhaps you are winners chapel, and you are not happy that the man is antagonizing your pastor Bishop David Oyedepo.

You know what?
Fighting against your fellow Christian does not worth it.

Christianity EtcThe Human Mind Is Programmed For Survival And Not For Truth by paxonel(op): 7:16am On Oct 13, 2019
The human mind is like every other animal mind pointing to the aspect of survival of the fittest by Charles Darwin.
There is always battle for survival.
Even Atheists battle Christians for survival of atheism as if atheism depend on Christianity because Christians do believe in ancient myths which they consider not sensible yet the same atheists believe in scientific myths of all sorts grin

But what is the truth?
The truth is, we are humans made of minds and humans will continue to believe in myths no matter who you are.
So, Christians can never be out of place believing in the existence of God, it's not possible.

So, if your mind is still programmed for survival you can never be fulfilled, it is best to channel it towards being programmed for the truth, and that truth is Jesus Christ. He is the answer to every question you can ever think of.

So, you agree that God cannot be verified by scientific means or even by the five senses.
certainly!
That is why he is a spirit.
He can only be verified in the mind. And that is only possible when the individual see reasons with scriptures especially as God applies in our world today.
So how then do you verify god when you have indirectly admitted that you cannot prove him?
I cannot prove him!
But the bible have a proof of him, and that is what we follow.
Now, look at it this way,
You have heard of the word FAITH isn't it?
The bible indicated that faith is the only evidence of God existence and not the opinion of theists.
what that simply means is, if God truly do not exist, by now in the history of mankind after billions of years of human existence, nobody will be talking about God talkless of having faith in him.
Every knowledgeable person would have somewhere along the line become atheists especially when people are getting knowledge in science and technology which cannot prove God's existence.
Ofcourse, atheism did not start today. Infact, there were people who have lived who never believed in God existence from the beginning of human history, but did that stop people from having faith?
I don't think so,
Instead, the number of people with Faith in God were increasing. It's like the more scientific and educational advancement the more theism increases.
This tells you that there is a powerful God, and what he want from humans(worship) does not depend on even theists opinion talkess of that of atheists. grin

He is in charge, and he get what he want anytime, anyday, yet at the free will of everyone.

whatever you think about the book is of no significance.
what is significant is, if God truly do not exist there are no scientific methods to prove it that's why you will not possibly know.
But if a book like the bible prove to me that God exist, then there is something the book has offer to the world science could not offer, and that is the existence of a spirit God and life after death.
Now, I don't expect you to comment further if you are sincere to know that your knowledge and science is limited to the five senses grin

1. In this era of Buhari and suffering, you are free from any duty to tithe. You will save 10% of your salary for yourself

2. Since there is no need to go to church as an atheist, no pastor will force you to;
*remove panties
*eat grass
*inhale insecticides

3. No need to travel to Mecca for pilgrimage (or Jerusalem) since government no longer pays for it.

4. All those hours wasted praying for Nigeria to be better will now be used for something better

5. No more money spent on transport fare to church. Imagine going from lagos to otta or lagos to ibadan expressway and spending 3 hrs on the road

6. You won't miss your favourite sunday shows because of church eg premier league matches, telemundo full series etc

7. You will now be able to laugh whenever Lalasticlala pushes a thread about crazy pastors and ridiculous things in religion to the frontpage

8. You can now feel free blocking all those boring religious channels on DSTV

9. No more running on from office to mosque on Fridays for prayers

10. No more hunger games aka Fasting

I hope you guys will see the light and become atheists. Ramen!
I'm a Christian, yet i don't do any of these things,
Atheists don't do them too.
Am i not better than atheists for being assured of life after death in heaven?

MuttleyLaff:
Are you going to say, Job loved his wife any lesser than Adam loved Eve, hmm? Remember Job rebuffed, in no uncertain terms, his wife's plea to curse God
No,
Job was quite different from Adam. He loved his wife as well, yet he was thinking straight.
He never allowed her to influence him.
I dont know whose original idea it was, between Ananias and Sapphira, to lie to the Holy Spirit, but I suspect that Ananias didnt love his wife, Sapphira, any lesser or greater than Adam or Job loved their wives, so I give you that, about most people will not be able to avoid being emotionally attached to their missuses

You accept that Adam wasn't deceived, but wouldnt agree he was thinking straight in terms of what he did because of Eve. Adam knew he had woefully failed at his responsibility, so like a man, he took the poisoned chalice from Eve, to do the honorable kamikaze act.

Eve practically dropped Adam in it, by saying, hey, you didnt teach me well enough. I am doomed, with this unfortunate and inescapable death outcome, here you are, have it, eat, lets both go down for this.

I'm not making excuse, I'm only saying what would possibly happened in that kinda condition which most people will not be able to avoid.
C'mon now paxonel, Eve died spiritually the instant she took a bite of that fruit.
very true!
The Bible states that Adam was not deceived, so this means he was thinking straight when he took the fruit off Eve and ate.
he wasn't deceived, yet he was not thinking straight because of Eve.
At the end, he was blaming God for giving him Eve rather than taking responsibility of his mistake.
He could not possibly stand a chance.
paxonel let me be straight with you. Adam because of misplaced priority of not putting God first and not considering God to be more important than Eve
that is the point.
He became a victim of blind loyalty. I also think, Adam was a victim of an already terribly wrong chivalry gone further pear-shaped. He should have sat the remaining last hour out

Christianity EtcRe: Are The Teachings Of Paul Truly Against The Teachings Of Jesus? by paxonel(m): 7:38am On Oct 06, 2019
unstoppable51:
A Closer Look At The Words Of Jesus & The Pauline Revelations (Epistles) From FeedMeJesus.com

Looking at the teachings of Jesus in the four Gospels (the books: Matthew, Mark, Luke & John), there seems to be a very wide gap between what Jesus taught and what we see apostle Paul teach in his epistles.

For instance, in Matthew 6:14-15 we see Jesus saying “For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.”

However when Paul wrote his epistles to the Ephesians and Colossians, he said something that looked like an opposite of what Jesus said. He puts his this way:

Eph 4:32 And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.

Col 3:13 Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.

He urged believers to forgive others not so as God will forgive them but because God has ALREADY forgiven them.

Again, in Matthew 19:16-22, a young man asked Jesus what he must do to have eternal life. In His reply Jesus said:

Mat 19:17 ……Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.

Mat 19:18 He saith unto him, Which? Jesus said, Thou shalt do no murder, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness,

Mat 19:19 Honour thy father and thy mother: and, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

Mat 19:20 The young man saith unto him, All these things have I kept from my youth up: what lack I yet?

Mat 19:21 Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me.

Mat 19:22 But when the young man heard that saying, he went away sorrowful: for he had great possessions.

Jesus recommended a complete keeping of the Law and philanthropy to that young man. A few years later Paul was asked a similar question alongside his companion Silas by a Prison warder, and here is what they replied:

Act 16:31 And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.

While Paul recommended just Faith in the Son of God Jesus to be all that is needed to be saved and have eternal life, it seems as though Jesus Himself recommended works alone to be all it takes.

Is Paul then a false teacher? Are his teachings truly in contradiction to Jesus’ own? Should we disregard the writings of Paul completely or is there something we are not getting clearly as a church when we look at the teachings of Jesus and the writings of Paul? Let’s go further.

To truly understand why Paul wrote the things he did, we need to first of all understand that the Bible is a book of progressive revelation which was never complete until the very last book. That means until we have read it through to the very last book and gotten witnesses from its numerous authors, we cannot turn “a statement” in it into a basis for Faith, a doctrine.

This is because the book was written in such a way that you will find the explanation and confirmations of the things you read as you proceed to the very end. So taking a statement from Jesus in the book of Matthew alone and establishing it as a doctrine will not be the best thing to do until you have read through the other books.

Why is this so? Because before His death (in the Gospels), Jesus said He had many things to say (bring to understanding, explain, teach) to His disciples concerning the things he had already said to them before and things to come. But He couldn’t say those things to them because the disciples couldn’t bear them then. He however said the Holy Spirit, when He has come to live in them, will teach, explain and show them those things He couldn’t due to their inability to bear them them then.

Joh 14:25 These things have I spoken unto you, being yet present with you.

Joh 14:26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

The word “remembrance” Jesus used in that verse 26 above is actually better translated as “understanding”. That means what Jesus meant in that verse is that the Holy Spirit will bring to their understanding the things Jesus said while He was physically present with them. He (the Spirit of God) will give them the revelation, the explanations of His words beyond what the average man could understand. Verse 25 of that John 14 above makes this clearer.

While talking with His disciples again in John 16, Jesus reiterated this one more time to show how relevant it is for the Spirit (the one who explains everything) to come live in them.

Joh 16:12 I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now.

Joh 16:13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.

Joh 16:14 He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you.

Joh 16:15 All things that the Father hath are mine: therefore said I, that he shall take of mine, and shall shew it unto you.

The Holy Spirit shall show them things to come. The words “things to come” in that verse is not talking about “visions, dreams etc.” It is actually talking about the “death, burial and resurrection of Jesus” which was to come immediately after Jesus finished those statements. Those events are what Jesus meant there, not some distant future things.

In other words, the Holy Spirit will reveal to the disciples the mysteries of the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus. That is, why Jesus had to die, was buried and resurrected. The things He did for us via His death, burial and resurrection. The benefits His death brought for us such as grace, peace, righteousness, justification, etc. These are the things to come which the Holy Spirit would teach and have the disciples pen down in their letters to the church.

It is these “things to come” that apostle Paul devoted his time to know and Jesus by His Spirit revealed them to Him as he looked diligently into the Old Testament scriptures and prophecies concerning Salvation. This revelation of the finished works of Christ which Jesus Himself by His Spirit brought to Paul’s understanding was what inspired him to boldly write the things he did in all his epistles.

Eph 3:1 For this cause I Paul, the prisoner of Jesus Christ for you Gentiles,

Eph 3:2 If ye have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God which is given me to you-ward:

Eph 3:3 How that by revelation he made known unto me the mystery; (as I wrote afore in few words,

Eph 3:4 Whereby, when ye read, ye may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ)

Eph 3:5 Which in other ages was not made known unto the sons of men, as it is now revealed unto his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit;

Eph 3:6 That the Gentiles should be fellowheirs, and of the same body, and partakers of his promise in Christ by the gospel:

Eph 3:7 Whereof I was made a minister, according to the gift of the grace of God given unto me by the effectual working of his power.

Eph 3:8 Unto me, who am less than the least of all saints, is this grace given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ;

Eph 3:9 And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ.

He went on to explain how come about this his revelations and teachings again in Galatians 1:11-20. Here is how he puts it:

Gal 1:11 But I certify you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached of me is not after man.

Gal 1:12 For I neither received it of man, neither was I taught it, but by the revelation of Jesus Christ.

Gal 1:13 For ye have heard of my conversation in time past in the Jews' religion, how that beyond measure I persecuted the church of God, and wasted it:

Gal 1:14 And profited in the Jews' religion above many my equals in mine own nation, being more exceedingly zealous of the traditions of my fathers.

Gal 1:15 But when it pleased God, who separated me from my mother's womb, and called me by his grace,

Gal 1:16 To reveal his Son in me, that I might preach him among the heathen; immediately I conferred not with flesh and blood:

Gal 1:17 Neither went I up to Jerusalem to them which were apostles before me; but I went into Arabia, and returned again unto Damascus.

Gal 1:18 Then after three years I went up to Jerusalem to see Peter, and abode with him fifteen days.

Gal 1:19 But other of the apostles saw I none, save James the Lord's brother.

Gal 1:20 Now the things which I write unto you, behold, before God, I lie not.

Now to confirm that the things Paul wrote in all his epistles are true, James, Peter and John, the pillars of the church, gave him the needed support. Paul called this support the right hand of fellowship to go share his Gospel revelations with the gentiles. A kind of saying “go ahead brother Paul, we are behind you because these things you teach are true.”

Gal 2:9 And when James, Cephas, and John, who seemed to be pillars, perceived the grace that was given unto me, they gave to me and Barnabas the right hands of fellowship; that we should go unto the heathen, and they unto the circumcision.

In his own epistle, apostle Peter further confirmed this:

2Pe 3:15 And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you;

2Pe 3:16 As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction.

Notice how Peter did not only confirm a single epistle of Paul but all of them at the same time. Read that verse 16 again. He gave witness to EVERYTHING Paul said and wrote in ALL his epistles. That is to show that everything Paul said in all his epistles were correct.

So when next someone wants to make you believe that Paul was wrong or is a false teacher, be steadfast in your faith and rebuke them. Paul’s teachings are never against the teachings of Jesus. They are actually the continuation and explanations of what Jesus would have us the church to know today. There are no errors in those teachings. The Spirit of God made sure there was never an error in them so the church won’t be misled today.

I hope this blesses you. Now lift your hands to the Father and thank Him for the entire revelation of His Word, His Son, to us.

Glory to Jesus our King eternal.

hello!
There are difference in what Jesus thought the Jews and the Pharisees(people practicing Judaism and not Christianity) as at the time he was yet to be crucified when there was nothing like Christianity on earth, with what Paul thought Christians after Christ resurrected.

So, understand the time difference.
The former was still at the era of the old covenant(no grace) even though Christ was present physically, while the later was the era of the new covenant full of grace

The Bible says you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you! Acts1:8
look at it this way,
Before the event of Act1:8 there was nothing like Christianity on earth.
So when you read bible consider the time difference.
All the disciples who followed Jesus before he was crucified were never Christians and were never saved, they never had the holy spirit.
But the moment Jesus resurrected, the holy spirit in Act 1:8 was made available for as many disciples at that point who still(i use still because many other disciples lost their believe at the time Jesus was arrested and crucified) believed in him.

So, every Christians today believe, that means they have the holy spirit in them.

Acts 19 called them disciples and they were confirmed believers only that the baptism they had received was that of John..
they were disciples of John the Baptist before Jesus was crucified and not disciples of Jesus Christ.
After Christ has gone they needed to be confirmed into the discipleship of Christ.

How remotely possibly were they one in mind?
the bible recorded that the moment Adam saw Eve, he declared this is the flesh of my flesh and bone of my bone.
Obviously, he loved what he saw and they fell in love.
Have you ever fall in love before?
It will make you not to think straight, infact, you will be dedicated to impress the girl and possibly do anything for her.
So if Eve asked him to taste a fruit that opened her eyes and not killed her as God told them, what do you expect Adam to do at that point when he was grossly in love?

He will never think straight grin

Actually, there was no way Adam could have rejected Eve as they were already one in the mind.

Acts 19:2, Paul asked if some Christians he met
they were never Christians but were of baptism of John the Baptist until Paul baptized them with the holy ghost
Could not having Him be the reason why some Christians seem powerless?
what do you mean by Christians seems powerless?
Who is saying some Christians seems powerless?
As Christians, do we still need the Holy Spirit?
Do you have Him?
every Christian already have the holy spirit in them. The moment you believe that Jesus is the Christ, that is the holy spirit in you.
What has He done in you and your life?
The Bible said we should be filled with the Holy Spirit and not with wine! ..

Share your experience (if any) if you have received Him.
the holy spirit is not meant to do anything else but to remind you that you are saved the moment you believe.
Every experience of physical achievements the holy spirit will not help you do any.
You will be the one to do and achieve them yourself like anyone else.
