folake4u: You’re kidding me? Right? That’s just so wrong on so many levels. Smh Some parents have no shame at all |
mimimile93:Those types of women should be dumped immediately |
LordReed:Americans will correct the anomaly in 2020. |
I think its a testament to how far women's game in Africa has developed that Nigeria needs its full complement of foreign-based stars for a match against...Gambia. Mind you, Gambia have never qualified for an AWCON, let alone a FIFA Women's world cup. |
To piggyback on this "African-enough" debate, why do coaches in the top 5 European leagues hardly buy creative Black African players. Why do such coaches have an overwhelming preference for staring big-brute defensive midfielders and wingbacks from sub-Saharan Africa, in their starting line ups? Aside from Drogba, Eto'o, (Freddy Kanoute?), Okocha, and Kanu, I can't think of too many other African forwards, in the 21st century, who have been given many opportunities in the starting line ups of the big Euro clubs. I can bet anyone that if Hazard was a Black African, he would have been sold after his second season. Similarly, if Fabregas was from Nigeria, he wouldn't have spent over a decade in the first teams of Barcelona, Arsenal, and Chelsea combined. |
elgramz:Best comment on this thread |
samplanner:I chose the 3-5-2 (or 3-4-1-2) formation because it is the best that would ensure that the team exerts its influence in the middle of the park. Too many times within the last 4 matches, the team has cheaply surrendered the midfield to the opposition; thereby resulting in unnecessary pressure on the defense. Ighalo has a relatively poor goals to games ratio for the SE, hence Nwankwo should be given a look-in. Musa performs best when utilized as a sub, and Victor Moses isn’t a bad wing-back either |
This would be the best formation for Naija: ————————Uzoho—————— ——-Ekong—-Omeruo—-Balogun——— ——Ebuehi——Mikel——Ndidi—-V.Moses—- —————————Iwobi——————- —————Iheanacho ———S.Nwankwo—————— |
Nawa!!!! Onazi and Joel Obi have got some powerful Godfathers in the NFF Yes, I’m not surprised that Mikel Agu was dropped. But dropping Aina for Echiejile makes absolutely no sense because the former is way more versatile than the latter. |
edi287:Well, Simmy’s movement-both on the ball and off the ball- was ok against DR Congo. And he was a constant menace to their defense. So, his movement coupled with his hold-up play would be a useful offensive weapon for Rohr. |
Would this formation work? ————————Uzoho——————- ——-Omeruo——Ekong—-Balogun———- —Ebuehi——-Mikel——Ndidi——-V. Moses——- —————————-Iwobi———————— ——————-A. Musa——S. Nwankwo——— I feel that Ahmed Musa, given the way his pace and trickery bamboozled the Congolese and English defenders, should be given a starting spot on Wednesday. Then, in the 2nd half, either Iheanacho or Ighalo could sub-in for him. Or is Musa better utilized as a second half substitute? |
It is remarkable fall from grace to grass for Onazi; because 4 years ago in Brazil, he was our best midfielder. Now, he is on the verge of being dropped on Monday morning. |
Despite the uncertainties surrounding Nigeria's plan to establish a national carrier by December this year, Middle East carrier, Qatar Airways has been engaged to be the core investor and Airbus to be the provider of aircraft that would feed the leasing company, which would provide aircraft with fleet. Although the Transaction Adviser, which was established to chart modalities for establishing the national airline, has advanced in its work, the Minister of State, Aviation, Senator Hadi Sirika confirmed the development, as government is said to be poised to deliver on its promise. Sirika recently met with Boeing on similar discussions, but THISDAY learnt from sources familiar with the deal, that Airbus wants to stamp its foothold in West and Central Africa dominated by Boeing aircraft and also wants to use the opportunity provided by the proposed national carrier to do so. A source told THISDAY that in the interim, Qatar Airways would provide long-haul aircraft for the new airline on wet lease, which means that the flights would be operated mainly by the Middle East airline's crew and technical personnel till when the national carrier would be able to take over fully. The source explained that if Airbus succeeds in providing aircraft for the leasing company, it would deploy its short haul aircraft for domestic and West Coast operations, which would be operated by pilots recruited by the new company. If government succeeds in establishing the national airline, the Buhari administration must have realised a key project in the aviation industry, which will have reverberating effect in the economy of the country. The federal government had promised to concession the major airports in the country, establish aircraft leasing company, a maintenance facility and a national carrier and it has instituted transaction adviser to actualize these projects but industry observers say that failing to realize these plans in the last three years, it would be difficult to establish them in the remaining one year of the administration. http://allafrica.com/stories/201806010535.html |
Jarus:Absolutely. With Simmy in the line up, we have a potent target for crosses; and the dude has decent footwork for a 6’6” player. Alternatively, we could line up as follows: —————-Omeruo——Ekong——-Balogun———— —Ebuehi——-Etebo——Mikel——Ndidi——V.Moses——- ——————————Iwobi————————— —————————-S. Nwankwo——————- |
lexyman:Not sure how Aina would fare in a 3-man defense, especially when the opposition have speedy forwards. |
My formation for the Czech Rep friendly and the WC would be: ————————-Uzoho——————- ————Omeruo——Ekong—-Idowu———- —-Ebuehi——-Ogu——Mikel—-Ndidi—-— ——————-Iwobi———V.Moses————— ————————-Ighalo—————— |
The three players to be dropped will be Mikel Agu, Joel Obi and Echiejile. Joel was horrible today, Agu has not featured in the last three games, and Echiejile didn’t feature today. Aina’s versatility may just punch his ticket to the WC. |
Roland17:Yup Onazi has been a big minus today |
Kane just punished the lack of tracking back by our supposed DMs ![]() |
The best thing you should do is to give her a 2-month ultimate to look for a place of her own. She can’t be inconveniencing you and your wife |
Following the sad news that Moses Simon won’t be fit for the WC, it’s clear that both Mikel Agu and Echiejile will be cut from the squad |
Nihilstjnr:Wow. Even at £65, I’m surprised the jersey sold out fast! |
England defender, Phil Jones, will miss tomorrow’s friendly because he will be by his wife’s side when she will be in labor |
somehow:In that case, I think one of Etebo or Joel Obi will be dropped because the coach ‘loves’ Mikel Agu. As we know, Iwobi can also be used as the AM if need be. |
somehow:Taking only six defenders is risky because one or two injuries/suspensions would render the defense bare |
If Moses Simon is declared fit for the group stage, Rohr could decide to name 7 defenders, 7 midfielders and 6 forwards in order to accommodate both Simon M and Simmy Nwankwo |
Going by the result of several polls, the Republicans seem to be energized for the California gubernatorial election. The Dem candidates are only collectively polling at 51%, while the open primary is on Tuesday. https://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2018/governor/ca/california_governor_open_primary-6299.html |
mank1234:It is for the top 2 kits |
Nike is now retailing the Super Eagles World Cup Jersey for £64.95 in the UK. |
At £64.95, the price would be #29,227 (exchange rate of N450-£1) |
If the scans show that Moses Simon will be fit for the World Cup, then I expect two of Mikel Agu, Echiejile, and Aina to be dropped. However, if the scans say otherwise, then obviously it will be Moses Simon and one of Agu, Echiejile and Aina to be dropped after the Saturday friendly. With the likes of John Ogu, Onazi, Joel Obi, and Ndidi in the team, I don’t see a cogent reason why Rohr will decided to take 5 DMs to the World Cup. Moreover, Agu has only featured for few minutes under Rohr, and if he doesn’t play against England, just know that he ain’t making the trip to Russia. |
The other big headache would be the starting line jobs England. The players, except the 14 or 15 who are “sure-bankers”, would desperately want to play a part in the game. If Ajiboye doesn’t feature at all, then it’s safe to say the goalkeeping trio for the WC will be Uzoho, Ezenwa, and Akpeyi. |
