Foreign AffairsRe: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by PeeDaVinci: 12:07pm On Nov 18, 2010
Defining a strong military based on just the ammunition and personnels no longer holds, it is now based on alliances built (with the very powerful and not-so-powerful countries). Nigeria appears to be much stronger than cameroun, however, we know we cant defeat the camerounians. Iraq-Kuwait war is another proof of this

@Omo Ibo: you dont know what is happening in scientic community, so, shut up.  Anyway, under the links I provided, you will find the students work (published by IEEE) and then, you will see something like "cited by". find the names of people who cited them and see who they are. FYI, Profs are among people who cited them. By the way, before you start saying shits, how many scientific conferences have you attended before, how many scientific papers have you ever published before? are u a grad, av u stepped out of the shores of that country for anything academic before ? i am not here to insult you, but just take it. Anybody can reference anybody inasmuch as you have it published.
PoliticsRe: How Philip Emeagwali Lied His Way To Fame by PeeDaVinci: 4:53pm On Oct 19, 2010
Ibime:
@ Tkb,

Thunder fire your nyash! Hehehehehe.

@ Peedavinci,

How many undergrad dissertations did you reference in your PHD thesis. Ingrate! Hehehehehe.

BTW, I'm not disputing your claim. Its just not usually done to quote Undergrad when you're doing a postgrad. Of course there may be exceptional pieces of work worth referencing such as your own thesis which has been referenced by Stephen Hawkings and the like. Anofia! Hehehehehehe.
Mr Ibime -  just want to provide you links to the undergrad thesis of the two students I worked with during an exchange program.

http://portal.acm.org/citation.cfm?id=1490299.1490857
http://scholar.google.com/scholar?hl=en&q=sorin+stancu-mara&um=1&ie=UTF-8&sa=N&tab=ws
You should be able to see the number of citation they have received and the people who cited them
Just try and google the names of people who have cited their thesis (to see  whether they are fellow undergrad or Profs). These two are just examples out of thousands that happens everyday.
Not going to draw issues with a you anymore about this, okay??
PoliticsRe: How Philip Emeagwali Lied His Way To Fame by PeeDaVinci: 3:36pm On Oct 19, 2010
Ibime:
Nigerians are wicked people.

Its only because Emeagwali doesn't have Dr in front of his name that they downplay his achievements. It is ironic that the same PHD thesis that was rejected that was the same PHD thesis that won him the Gordon Bell prize.

Emeagwali never claimed anything he didn't achieve unless people lack comprehension. If I say Ibime won nobel prize of Nairaland, some punks would claim that Ibime said he won Nobel Prize gon gon.

I have studied parallel computing to a decent level, and I tell you that for Emeagwali to be recognised in one of the most highly advanced fields od mathematics is no mean achievement. Some people wey barely scrape Mass Communication degree from Lasu just dey here dey yarn opata.

If Emeagwali was granted the PHD (which he won award for), he would not have to blow his own trumpet. He would have access to research and funds and be able to co-publish work with other Drs and Profs in his field. His work will be quoted by all academics and he will be speaking in all the conferences. As it stands now, someone doing a PHD thesis cannot reference Emeagwalis work because PHD student should not be referencing anything less than PHD or Professional research paper. hehehehehe.
Mr Ibime, Shut up and shut up and shut up again. Never ever talk about what you don't know.  FYI, anybody (PHD, Prof  etc) can reference anybody's (Undergrad, Msc, , ) work inasmuch as it is published.  Okayhuh Also , I have more than 7 references on my masters project published by ACM. and finally, FYI, I just received my PhD in distributed computing (I dont want to make any comment about Emeagwali's claim though, It is pointless arguing with some secondary school graduates)

Hw knew what he was doing. He purposely said it to ruffle feathers. It was not a blunder out of anger or ignorance. How can you expect to continuously boss a sovereign nation and not expect to someday stumble upon a Rock? Although he definitely could have gone about it in another tone, i respect him for doing what African leaders except literally a couple would never think of doing, out of a sense of inferiority.
By the way, Ahmadinejad said it out of inferiority complex, and US staged their walk out to protect their pride (which I think everybody should have). Compare and contrast Obama's speech with Ahmedinejad
PoliticsRe: Nairalanders for Ribadu Assembly(NRA) by PeeDaVinci: 2:14pm On Sep 22, 2010
So far, GEJ has done nothing remarkable in the country, he does not know what he really stands for and where he wants to lead Nigeria. Dont give me the excuse that he is just 6 months coz if he cant get his directions straight within six months, i doubt if he'll be able to do it in 10 years. He still remains a good man with a good heart though.

Ribadu made his mark within his 6 months in office and that is why I go for him. RIBADU all the way
PoliticsRe: Nairalanders for Ribadu Assembly(NRA) by PeeDaVinci: 10:02am On Sep 22, 2010
situation is that Ribadu will definitely need to align with some former enemies to make a headway, not the very staunch enemies though.

and everything depends on the outcome of the PDP primaries.

if GEJ wins the primaries, all Ribadu needs is the support from ANPP, CPC (buhari), disgruntled members of PDP and ACN to give GEJ a run for his money/power. Note that IBB is not in the equation,

If IBB wins PDP primaries, it is going to be difficult for ribadu though, but he will sure have the support of OBJ, GEJ, Buhari too to to give IBB a run for his stupidity.

I second you, jare

how will a parliamentary system work in a one party state?? Our present houses (rep and senate) will give you a glimpse into how the parliamentary system is going to be like.
Moreover, parliamentary system will never work in a state like Nigeria which is strongly religio-ethno-biased. pple who participated in the parliamentary system know why they prefer presidential system of govt in 1979. The problem with our own presidential system is how we practise it , do a thorough overhaul of what we have now and ,

PoliticsRe: Ribadu To Emerge As Ac Presidential Candidate by PeeDaVinci: 8:25am On Jul 09, 2010
good political calculation for AC. If Jonathan emerges as PDP flagbearer, the north would feel betrayed and will vote for any other northerner in the race which gives Ribadu the edge he needs if he can do just one more thing : lick IBB's ass.
Ribadu's name sells in the South too, he will just need another progressive minded and politically dexterious southerner, e.g Donald Duke, Fashola or Pat Utomi-any of these 3 will do.

they should however not hold their convention until after PDP's convention
PoliticsChina To Build Refinery In Lagos, Nigeria by PeeDaVinci(op): 5:44pm On Jul 06, 2010
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/business/10527308.stm
China is to build an $8bn oil refinery in Nigeria.

It will be the first of three refineries under a deal signed in May between Nigeria's state oil company, NNPC, and the China State Construction Engineering Corporation (CSCEC).

The refinery will be built in the Lekki free trade zone of Lagos, Nigeria's biggest city.

The Chinese will cover 80% of the cost, and NNPC 20%, while the state of Lagos will provide land and infrastructure.

Under the $23bn framework agreement signed in May, NNPC and CSEC will also build two other refineries, in Bayelsa and Kogi, as well as a fuel complex.

Nigeria already has four refineries, but they are widely seen to be poorly maintained and only running at 40% of capacity.

As a result, the African country must currently import refined fuel, even though it is a major crude oil producer and exporter.

PoliticsRe: TAM David-West Rejects National Honour Award by PeeDaVinci: 8:52am On Jul 02, 2010
Read between the lines, fellas. The ONLY reason why he rejected the award was because he felt it was lower than what he deserved, the other 10billion naira reason is just to cover up the main reason: to please the people. If he had been given what he felt he deserved (for looting the nation like his compatriots in looting e.g. Etteh), he would have gladly accepted the award and not think abt the 10billion thingie
PoliticsRe: Do You Think The White American Surely Like This? by PeeDaVinci: 9:49pm On Jun 25, 2010
To prove or dis-prove that Nigeria is not the most racist state in the world:

1)Go and apply for a council position in Sokoto state if you name is Uche Ikenna, or go and apply in one of the councils in Abia state with a pali which reads that your name is Abdulsalam Kaita (and if a council in europe denies u job because you are an over-stayer, you start shouting 'racism')
2) Let a Kunle Balogun go and try and naturalize as Benue state citizen and contest an elective position there (and this is what is very possible over here - your so-called racist states)
3) Let a Alh. Dongoyaro Bala come to your house, i mean, you (Akpan) and try to marry your sister and see whether you are going to agree

,

Nigeria is a fukcing racist state, JUST take it that way

and this is is a good example of why we will never progress in the country because we are just going one step forward and one step backward : take a look at this
1978: master plan developed and lands allocated for a particular use
somewhere between 1990 and 1999 : land allocated for diplomats
somewhere between 1999-2007: previous decision reversed, land reallocated according to 1978 master plan
today: previous decision reversed, land reallocated to diplomats
tomorrow:, decision reversed again

merry-go-rounding, i don't know how well and deep the govt thinks before they make decision, and i doubt whether each present govt considers critically the reason for the previous govt's decision on any issue before reversing it/issuing its own, no damn CONTINUITY in govt, shame

arise o compatriot : dont know who the song is addressing coz i dont see no compatriot anywhere, so, the song is meaningless init.
nigeria's call obey: dont know what nigeria's call we are obeying now, what is nigeria calling us to do ,  steal , loot ,
to serve our fatherland: which fatherlandhuh when you are not welcomed in a place you were born and grew up just because your father is not from that exact place, leaving me to question the exact meaning of the word 'fatherland'
with love and strenght and faith : not a news that nobody does that anymore, we dont love our country, we do anything that has do with our country with XXXXL-Laziness, just a handful of ppple left who still have faith in this entity called nigeria
the labours of our heroes past : I question who these heroes are, it will be better if we mention their names. are we referring to the likes of awolowo, azikwe, ahmadu bello who are chief tribalist, or are we reffering to the ones who came in like mumu and dont even know what to do with nigeria(gowon), or are we referring to the likes of obj, ibbhuh who exactly are the heroes past, maybe we should trace it back b4 slave trade to the likes of ogun, sango,  i reckon that those past leaders laid the foundation for the problem we have now. take it or leave it
shall never be in vain : it is not in vain nw, we are reaping the results
to serve with heart and might : 2nd time 'serve' is occuring in the anthem, unfortunately, this is not a word in our vocab, wondering what is it doing there in the song, gues it is just a placeholder to make the song more sweeter.

one nation bound in freedom , peace, and unity
: judge this yourself, we all know the truth
