BTW, his new name is 25 cents |
with or without Kanu, Nigeria is going nowhere in SA (sorry if I sound pessimistic, i am just being realistic), so, it wont matter if we include him or not on that ground. I feel very strong that we should include him in the team though to help him boost his CV and honour one of our greatest footballers of all time, afterall England will be including Beckham even though he is not going to play in SA, we can do similar thing for Kanu |
i am more worried about the fact that they increase the population in the north, and as we all know, population determines who rules us and how revenue is shared. I can only pray one of them wont turn our to be another Abacha whose Dad is a Chadian immigrant |
this guy is obviously deranged, he met the naira at 0.89 naira to a dollar and let it at 10 naira to a dollar and he is still claiming he left the naira strong, given the devaluation rate when he was there nw, the 1 dollar will prolly be 10, 000 naira, silly asshole |

Switzerland has halted special flights to deport asylum seekers after a Nigerian man on hunger strike died on the tarmac at Zurich airport. Swiss police say they had shackled the 29-year-old man, who was being forcibly deported along with 15 other Nigerians whose asylum bids had been rejected. When he fell ill on Wednesday the police took off his shackles and a doctor tried in vain to revive him. Swiss authorities have launched an investigation into the incident. Police said they had shackled the man because he had resisted deportation. Two Nigerian witnesses quoted by the Swissinfo news website accused the police of inhumane treatment. "They treated us like animals," said one, called Emmanuel. "They shackled our feet, knees, hands, hips, arms and torso and made us wear a helmet like those worn by boxers. It was simply impossible to move," he said. The man who died was a drug-dealer who had been on hunger strike for several days. It is the third such death in Switzerland since 1999. Last year there were 43 special repatriation flights from Switzerland, deporting some 360 people, mostly to the Balkans or Africa, Swissinfo reports. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/europe/8576085.stm |
Why all this blabbing by our so-called army spokesperson - Jang made an allegation , let them either refute or confirm it, and explain to us why they acted the way they acted instead of attacking the person who made the allegations(the Gov) |
as much as i know nigerians can go anywhere in search of greener pasture, i can bet that the people arrested are not nigerians, yemen is just trying to vindicate itself diplomatically and absolve itself of any terrorism blacklisting!!! And they have a weapon now, they know alot of africans migrate to saudi their country, and they ever african they arrest is a nigerian i can bet that is the plot |
Can you please mention them in the order of their influence by your own judgement!!! For me, I will say 1)Olusegun Obasanjo 2)Wole Soyinka 3)Okonjo-Eweala 4)Chinua Achebe i dont know how internationally influential our businessmen e.g Adenuga, Dangote!!!! coz i am not sure hw much pple will want to listen to them speak on the global scene |
this is funny, imagine the minister threatening a nigerian reporter about coming to nigeria in the presence of the whole world!!!! saying "just come to nigeria and u will see" - mad pple |
- every nigerian should be an indigine of wherever he is born , or have stayed more than 10 years or where his ancestors come from or where she is married to!!! |

As it is becoming clearer by the days that Yaradua will most probably, not be returned as President in 2011, and due to the fact that the president should be from the North (PDP's Zoning formular), one question that is now coming up is the fate of Jonathan in this power play, will he be returned as VP in 2011?? How will this affect the power play equation? |
he is already two times lucky (becoming Gov and VP), i think the question should b whether he would be three time lucky!! |
@poster, i am tempted to dislose my identity to you, but, i just can't, i dont know how far out of nigeria you have gone, but my research has taken me to interior parts iceland, and to very close to antartica, (not just once). FYI, I work in Alfred Wegener Institute- i wont go into theory of global warming with you, it may be a little bit complex for you, but i will just tell you some practical observable things, I have twice seen iceberg (as big as what you can imagine) crumble that generated a sea wave of about 7 meters 4 kilometers away (where we were) i dont know how old you are, but I am old enough to know when rain starts falling fully in march (in osogbo, nigeria), i am old to enough to tell you things are not the way they used to be. |
Abacha's father was from Chad, and the Abacha's link to Chad is still intact till date |
i dont see anything bad in buying fairly used helicopter inasmuch as they are in good shape, afterall many of us buy tokunbo cars that are still in very good shape, and would have lasted longer if not for the bad roads we have in nigeria. besides, many hercules aircraft being used by US have been in existence since the 1950's, and that has not dettered US from using them, check out the ages of the space ships too, |
the ambassador has very little knowledge about nigeria's problem and is not at all concerned about our problem and how we will solve it, his main concern is spreading the anti-west stance of his leader (Chavez). His main aim is to recruit more anti-west followership for Chavez. Ever since, Venezuela has always produced more oil than we have done in Nigeria, and Venezuela has always had fewer population than we have in Nigeria, and the fact that they produce more has not necesarrily translated into better standard of living more than Kuwait, Qatar, Brazil etc. Nigeria, beware of stupid socialist recruiters |
Pirates kill sailor in attack on oil tanker off Benin Pirates have attacked an oil tanker off the coast of west Africa, killing a Ukrainian seaman, the commander of Benin's naval forces says. Cdr Fernand Maxime Ahoyo says the Cancale Star's chief engineer was killed and one other crewman wounded. The pirates attacked the vessel some 18 nautical miles (33km) off the coast of Benin, in what correspondents say is the country's first such attack. One pirate was overpowered by the crew, but the others managed to escape. Benin-based journalist Esther Tola told the BBC that the pirates were thought to be from Nigeria. The commander said naval forces had rescued the crew from the tanker and brought them into port. There were 24 seamen of different nationalities on board the Monrovia-flagged vessel, including Filipinos, Lithuanians and Ukranians, Cdr Ahoyo told AFP news agency. Western front The International Maritime Bureau (IMB) says piracy in the waters of west Africa is on the rise, with 100 such incidents recorded last year. The IMB has previously warned of heightened piracy risks along shipping routes in Nigeria and Ghana, to the east and west of Benin. It said attacks usually took place while ships were at anchor or close to coastal areas, unlike in eastern Africa, where Somali pirates strike ships hundreds of miles out to sea. More than 10 ships and 200 hostages are currently being held by pirates operating in waters off Somalia. An international force of about 40 warships has been stationed around the Gulf of Aden, in an effort to clamp down on piracy in some the world's busiest shipping lanes. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/africa/8376715.stm |
the truth is that there are loads of almajiri's everywhere in the north, but i bet they are not anyway up to 10 million, this is just another bogus claim to steal some money by our politician!!!! morealso, i think we really need to define who is an almajiri , is he an a < 11 years old roaming the street, or a <18 years unemployed roamin the street |
mekusxxx:it doesnt take 2 secs to google any phd topic and claim it to be yours!!!! Just so that you will know, the owner of that paper go soon copyright am!! and by the way, wat /who is busy - you or your time |
Two Millenium Jokes 1) YabaTech's claims 2)mekusxxx's claim |
i have always hated Bakere until 2003 when i listened to his message "arrows shot into the future", and that changed my mentality about his personality. I must admit that i still dont usually agree with all he says/does, but he is the only preacher that i agree with more than 80% of wat he say/does. This interview further confirms that to me!!! |
all depends on what you guys want from the relationship, how serious the relationship is and how committed both of you are to making it work. i got married this year to a lady i have dated for more than 5 years (and I have spent more than 4 years out of nigeria), she joins me here in january anyway. the story has not been as easy as i painted it, tots of breakin up the relationship used to flash through my mind daily sometimes, so, the lesson of the story is that - it all depends on you guys |
i bet to disagree with you!! coz i have never heard anybody support corruption here on nairaland which is in contrast to the nigeria society!!! |
@poster - the topic is misleading - it is a senator that is seeking that any US president (not necesarily Obama) should be able to do whatever you call it with the internet. Stop using misleading titles to muster support for anti-obama campaign. what the senator plan is crappy though |
she don mature to go be dat |
what about the cost of the goods (cars, phones, clothes, furnitures, raw materials etc) sent back home ?? anybody to put a value on that?? |
selingel:sorry, i dont get you, do you mean that Obasanjo should be arrested and prosecuted for all financial crimes perpetrated by his appointees in his Govt because he was heading the govt/appointed them? I am not saying OBJ is innocent, but if OBJ did steal, prosecute him , and if it was his appointees, then, prosecuute them, and dont play media games with Nigerians (which is what Jonathan is doing) |
how i wish pple on thi forum think before they start condeming OBJ on this ecological fund!!! OBJ administration was indicted, and not OBJ. Obasanjo was not the direct manager of the fund!!! The only parallel I can draw to what many of you are doing is "saying OBJ is corrupt becuase Anenih stole money as a minister in OBJ's govt" Morealso, Every tier of Govt has a stake in the management of the fund, so, if the fund was mismanaged, Yaradua, and Jonathan were part of the pple that mismanaged it coz they got part of the money tooo i feel Jonathan just want to prove that their govt is independent from OBJ, that was why he was saying that, if he really wants to be serious with this, they should investigate the people that directly managed the fund, and submit names, (with evidence) of the thieves to EFCC, and not using the media to fool many nigerians stupid sentiments, such as we have on nairaland |
