dejavubobo1:That one AK-47 could send 20 people straight to their graves. Guess what? They just made world news headline. Some nairalanders make stupid comments without any sense of reasoning. |
why are nigerians so quick to take laws into their hands. This is the genesis of the crisis in mile 12. Nigerians are really culminating the worst habit that humanity has concieved. Are we in the 14th centuries where people are lynched for fun. |
Maybe JAMB should go back to pen and paper so that exam malpractise would be the order of the day. Nigerians are nigeria's problem. Yes, JAMB cbt is very poor as regards organisation. But we should remember that our fraudulent attitude as citizens of this nation pushed jamb to adopt cbt. Now, my cousin reads and prepares for his exam instead of pinning his hope on some fraudulent miracle centre. He scored 203 and he believes he can do better if the exam can be properly organised without un-necessary delays tht presently characterises jamb. Instead of criticizing jamb, lets force them to put their house in order and prepare its facilities ahead of future exams. We are here because we put ourselves in this position. If students would go into the exam and put in their best without relying on question leakages, nobody would be talking of cbt. Just MHO. |
Its high time nigerians start taking a fair share of the blame. Stop blaming govt all the time. Nigerians are equally as guilty as its govt. |
BRF should understand that the power sector is key to the countrys growth. The president reposed a lot of confidence in his ability to deliver. The minister should please sit up and face this problem squarely, so that the likes of dino melaye can shut his empty trap. I pity dino melayes constituency. The senator is not only an embarassment to his constituency but also a mockery of our democracy. He is not fit to be a senator. A secretary of the Nigerian Union Of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) would have been a decent position for his character. |
Op, trying to market phantom 5. You try. Technology is a fad. As time passes, it fades. |
banki:Op pointed out an observation that could have escaped anyone's vigilance. I commend him for doing so. If PMB takes decisions that are not in favor of nigeria, its everyone's duty to point it out so that corrections or reversals are effected right away. This has nothing to do with the citizen's usual bias at every turn the present makes. At least, this observation is objective and i would expect that someone in the cabinet points this anomaly out for the presidency to look into. How do you open your doors to a country that has a clearly spelt out policy that discriminates against your citizens. The president should simply revisit this agreement so these countries dont take us for granted. |
South african companies are nothing but blood suckers. They want want you to open your economy for them to feast on while they discourage and tighten policies around foreign companies. How can you be importing what we already have and claim you are investing in our economy. All of them are only interested in our petrodollars and that has dried up. Right now, i am grooving my data service courtesy glo cheap data. Who needs these economic vampires anyway. They should find their way to ghana. |
NobleAngell:Why are some peeps on nairaland always quick to add tribal conotations to every positive thread. The average igbo man has always and will always be industrious and enterprising. But some people make it feel like they are in competition with other tribes. Even if others take a cue and decide to divest in that line too, it still doesnt chand the status quo of the average igbo man. Maybe, i should remind u that the financial institution is not investing in IVM because the company is owned by a igbo man, but because they believe in its unique brand and enormous potential and of course the nigerianess. |
BHM01:Where are we going? 200MW? |
White007:From the beginning to almost the last part of your post, you made clear unbiased points. Not until the latter part where you rounded up by condemning some niger deltans for openly supporting buhari. No matter how you try to hide your disdain for PMB, your comments give you away. Every nigerian has a right to support any leader irrespective of where he comes from. Not everyone from the niger delta was comfortable the way GEJ led PDP was leading this country. If PMB turns out a bad choice, 2019 is approaching. Stop the hate, be the change you desire. |
drnonny:Try do a file recovery to previous date. Hope it works. Pls, develop a backup policy for your datas after this experience. |
chidiezeh:You could go to jail for doing that. |
This isnt the time to celeberate and embark on a fan fiesta. The nigerian army should take publicity advantage of the situation. Get the captives to make public confessions on national tv. Others still in hiding will consider their their own plight and give up in their thousands. This war has entered second level media warfare. Lets hope the nigeria army that advantage of this. I cant imagine what propaganda boko haram would have done if they had this upper hand. |
Either ways, the 5000 naira unemployment benefit would have been a disaster if implemented. Such spending would have put more pressure on the depleted forex reserve. Yes, APC used this as a propaganda tool to actualize their political ambition, it was wrong to decieve nigerians with such. As for Tonyebarcanista, he is doing what every opposition should be doing, putting the ruling party on its toe. |
Asking NCC to build four CBT centres yearly is not the solution. What will happen to the centres after jamb has ended? Another situation for a rotting decaying of public infrastructure (going by our poor maintainance culture). The suggestion is just a recipe for waste. Rather, since the students are coming from post primary institutions, jamb should encourage secondary school institutions to include CBT into their curriculum. They could work out access to cheap loans to private schools and let state govts fund the publi secondary schools. |
Seems this govt came into power with a mindset and its not willing to bend in response to the reality at hand. We have said it time and number, encourage local investors to float modular refineries in numbers. The problem with the way infrastructural provision is done in this country is that we channel everything in a particular direction to favor a few individuals and institutions. Our policies in this country should be formulated to create options in the event that if one fails there is another viable option to maintain balance and healthy competitiion. Unfortunately, we have a govt that is bereft of ideas and builds a firewall around itself. |
Pheals:My sister, the thing is killing us as a country. Every creative project is an opportunity for someinfluential people to make profit. Putting favouritism before expertise is our bane in this country. The JAMB exercise is a good example. Novice individuals who know nothing about ICT have hijacked the system and making a nonsense of the exam. It is all over our society. |
InvertedHammer:The focus is not the sustainance of forex, but the push fornigerians to start producing instead of being a consumption giant. Its better now than never. |
There is no wisdom in this devaluation of a thing. Greece had years of economic downturn with debts running into billions of dollars, no IMF adviced them to devalue their currency. Today, greece is emerging out of the woods. Angola took the IMF advice and presently their economy is at the brink of collapse. If the CBN's plan to fully diversify works, there wont be any need for devaluation. As far as i am concerned, IMF and international financial institutions just want to hold our economy to ransom and turn our economy to another dumping ground If we get this right, it will signal the rebirth of the economic giant of africa. If nigerians can show faith in the policies of this govt, with corruption drastically reduced, our economy would be the better for it. Devaluation is definitely not a healthy option for us at this moment. The plan is to kill our currency and further weaken our economy. On the record, no country has heeded to IMFs without facing more woes. Nigerians hold the key to a better economy. Lets start creating, producing and assembling. The naira is our currency and not the dollar. Its a good thing the president is looking to the east for finacial aids and not the west. We will get out of this mess stronger. Long live nigeria. |
Terrorism is no more attractive. BH would soon diversify to fish farming. Bunch of knuckle heads. |
Oga, go and get google chrome cast. Simple |
This method will only end up confusing the candidates and also make them spend valuable time making sure the wrong answers are not erronously chosen in place of right answers. This method only serves to complicate everything at their own advantage. The candidates loss is their own gain. Bunch of bull frogs. |
Seriously, PMB should pay less attention to forex and crude oil, focus more on policies that would encourage invest local investments, provision of infrastructures like power, refineries. Many years ago, nigerians hardly listen to our local music, now we are the talk of africa, contributing massively to our gdp.People hardly listen to foreign songs anymore. How much did the forex dollar contribute to this sector's performance? It was just pur hardwork and innovation. Pat Utomi is right on this one. Lets hope the president thinks in this direction. |
Funny enough, every material required to produce this pure water can be found in excess quantity in the country. We have become a lazy bunch of people that would rather argue and talk for hours over an issue rather than getting down to act and solve the problem. |
vedaxcool:Bros, very brilliant observation. If only FG would heed this advice. There must be a concerted effort to have gas storage syatem included into our energy master plan. We could learn from the americans system of stockpiling energy from that would sustain the country during shortfalls. Nigeria should be storing gas that could ensure three months constant supply whenthere is no supply. Why cant all the power plants have storage facilities for gas supply of up to four days. Yes, its going to be expensive but on the long run going by our own unpredicatble, unstable and peculiar environment, i think this approach will help. We should also open up and allow investors come into the sector instead of allowing companies with low capacity hold us to ransom. Just my humble opinion. |
A person of saraki's character must not become the president of this country. This die hard attitude is a sign of desperado. |
For all of you calling tiwa wack, you aint seen nothing. That girl is so talented, pregnacy couldnt stop her shine. Her ability to adopt to any genre of music, be it pangolo or afro pop makes her stand out. She is the genuine article. Most are just envious of her achievement. If she is comfortable with mavins, then she bettter stay put. OP, abeg wey dat your own 30 secs track? You no get, u dey advice others. SMH... |
I am not happy at her loss, but common sense should tell us that one day, this draconian law will consume the enforcers of this law too. RIP to the dead. Death is cheap in nigeria these days. |
tlinks:The virus spreads through other file formats like .jpg, .pdf etc. Never suscribe to any software update. Instead, if you get updates, check developer websites and download updates directly. Constant backup is a life saver. |
Dele Momodu certainly made some valid points. PMB should allow his economic team evolve and be experimental instead of everyone waiting a superior order or something. The minster of agriculture and solid minerals for instance should be holding round table meetings with experts in their industries in alignment with the nation's plan to fully diversify the economy. We dont need a budget for all these to be in place. Everyone seems to be glued to the govt's anti-corruption soap opera while ignoring the economic downturn. What the economy needs at this time is certainty and appreciable stability. |
