Thanks a lot for your explanation. You've really calmed me down. Just one last thing. Should I save the money in my personal account or a sponsors account. If its mine, is my naira account good to go.
Thanks a lot for your reply

There is nothing like sponsor in Express Entry. Nobody can sponsor you. Funds MUST be readily available to you and MUST be in your account (since it's only you). If your parents wants to support your immigration move, then they should send the money to your account and do you a gift deed. You cannot use your parents account.
https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/immigrate-canada/express-entry/documents/proof-funds.html

Whether or not you want to use a naira account or dom account is entirely up to you. If you have access to USD, then please put your funds in a Dom account. That way you hedge against the volatility of the naira

I am alone and I'm not married or with kids. I just read it and I appreciate the reply.
From what u wrote. It means I can get half of the money in the acc and half in the gift deed. Or am I wrong?
My other question now is, If I'm to put the money in my account, is the 6 months calculated when the amount is complete or not.
For example, if the target amount is 10m. And I put 2m monthly starting from January. Will the 6months start calculating from May( when the amount combined is now 10m) or from January.
Please help with clarification

Trust me, by the time you finish writing IELTS and evaluating your credentials (WES, IQAS, etc), 3 - 4 months would have elapsed.

So I'll say put any amount you want now and grow it gradually.

By the time you receive an ITA (at least 3 - 4 months from now cos you're still evaluating your credentials and IELTS), whatever balance is left you can get a gift deed or even get 100% gift deed.

See stories of people who used 70 - 100% gift deed: https://www.nairaland.com/5187408/canadian-express-entry-federal-skilled/412#80822331

Thanks. My question now is, I already have about 2m and could get the rest but keeping the money in the account for long is the issue.
My questions now are.
1. How much should I put in the bank In total. Some people said 6m is enough some said 10m. Mind you, I'm planning to go alone. No wife or kids
2. For how much duration.
3. Should I put the money Once or pay into the account small small
4. Should I put the money in my account or a sponsors account
5. Should I disregard this account thing or just use gift deed or treasury Bill's.
6. If I want to through no 5 route how do I go about it.
Sorry for the numerous questions

Whether you land Canada alone or with your family, you need to show POF for your entire family. Google POF requirement online.

Good morning all, newbie here. For years I have been unsure about applying for FSW even before I got married. Now I am married with two kids, the state of the land and finding the best opportunities for our kids has enabled me reach the right decision, Its time to Go!!
I have the rudimentary knowledge of the process having gone through some pages of these threads but require some clarifications for the best possible CRS

1. I did a quick assessment and we have a score of 454, is this sufficient to scale through the pool?? If not what's the best average score to quality for selection??

2. I have a masters with about 10yrs working experience 34yrs, do I need another certification cause I see ACCA or BCS in some threads to qualify for two or more certifications, also my wife (33yrs, 7yrs experience) has a BSC and her ICAN( I know this doesn't apply here) will her attaining ACCA F1 to F3 add any point to our CRS even as a secondary applicant??

Generally I just need advise on what CRS points we should be looking at and how best to attain it considering age qualifications and experience stated above.

Thanks so much for your awaited response

454 is a good score but the last general draw (FSW) was 468 in December 2020. The last time a general draw went below 454 was May 2019 (2 years ago).

I’ll advise you to get into the pool first, and then start looking for ways to increase your CRS score. You can be in the pool and get an NOI from a province or even apply for provincial nominations. But without being in the pool, you can’t do anything.

Another sure way of increasing your CRS score is to write the French exam. If you pass, you gain 60+ points and are guaranteed an ITA in the next general draw.

Best.

I'll suggest you evaluate your B.sc Microbiology and Bsc Nursing together with WES.

That should give you 2 or more certificates

Registered Nurse Certificate
Registered Midwife certificate
.Thank you

Try IQAS or ICAS

See testimonies of people who successfully evaluated their BSc, Registered Nurse/ Registered Midwife certificates with IQAS and ICAS.

https://www.nairaland.com/4212543/canadian-express-entry-federal-skilled/518#66379046

The above is just for your Express entry ECA and help you land Canada.

If you want to practice as a Nurse in Canada and get your license, you will to apply to the National Nursing Assessment Service for a secondary evaluation. And then depending on the province, you write another exam known as the NCLEX-RN.

Alternatively, you can evaluate your 2 BSc certificates with WES for “2 or more certificates “ and when you land Canada, you start the process of getting your license.

Hi great people,

I am a Banker with 14 years work experience, B.Sc Comp. Science and an MBA Finance Management, I clocked 40 in February 2021. I would love to emigrate to Canada as the principal applicant with my spouse and our two wonderful children.

Kindly assist me on how best to begin preparation for my emigration dream.

God bless you.

You can play around with the CRS calculator here and see what your score would be: https://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/crs-tool.asp

Evaluate your MBA and your wife should evaluate her highest qualification too.
Both of you should write the IELTS (General) and max out.
If your spouse is way younger than you and has an MSc, it would make sense for her to be the principal applicant.

If your CRS is low, you can explore the PNP route. Try SINP or write the French exam. You can get up to 60 additional points for if you write and pass the French exam. See response to a similar question here: https://www.nairaland.com/6081746/canadian-express-entry-federal-skilled/566#101840615

Good day.

I am 36 years old. Work in a big 4 company with 10 years experience as a consultant. Bsc in Accounting, ACCA qualified no Masters. Willing to take IELTS.

Husband is a lawyer, 40 years old. We have 2 kids.

Considering my age and that of my husband's, do I have good chances with express entry. If not what immigration route would you recommend.

Also, do I need to assess my acca qualification with WES or just my BSC in Accounting.

I will really appreciate your insights. Thank you.

Please start evaluating your credentials (BSc and ACCA). That should give you 2 or more certificates. Use WES

Your husband should also evaluate his Law degree with IQAS to get a professional degree equivalence. Is it LLB or LLM?

If you and your husband max IELTS, the maximum score you will get as the PA is 442.

So I’ll say you should explore the PNP route, especially the Saskatchewan PNP.
If your husband has an LLM, his score in SINP would be around 68 and he could get an NOI. Draw now is 70, they drew 68 last year. That will add an additional 600 points to his CRS and he can be the PA in Express entry.

Do you have relatives in the Canada?

If it’s there what’s he going to use it for?
The ECA report already says 2 or more certificates, and from the same institution.

If the OND and HND were from different institutions, he would have seen them separate.

Find attach my ECA report

That's two or more certificate. You don't have to worry that the OND wasn't included.
The Canadian educational system is very different from ours, hence the need for an ECA.
WES has assessed your Nigerian OND and HND, and they are saying it's comparable to a 3 year diploma and a 1 year postgraduate certificate in Canada.

Congratulations!

Career / Re: Bank Job Or Federal Government Job? by phabulous88(m): 10:10am On May 17, 2021
NarnieAceTech:
Hello Nairalanders, I don't know if this is the right section to post this but I need your sincere contributions, advice on a career path I'm about to take. I will go straight to it:

I have been searching for a job for some months now. I applied in several startups but wasn't fortunate in getting replies from them. I recently got a job in a new generation bank and it's at their HQ in Lagos Island. I had barely stayed up to a week before I got a mail from the Nigerian Immigration Service concerning their screening exercise.
I have never been in such position to pick one, because from the look of things, I can't seem to have it both ways but I may just be wrong. I decided to list out the pros and cons of both jobs.

Bank job pros:
• Salary is close to 100k.
• Transportation is free I.e zero cost
• Positive working environment.
• Learning on the job.
• Job growth.
• Job flexibility- I will start working from home as soon as I get a good grasp handling some things, that means I may be coming to the office 3 times in 5 days. That means I'll be able to run my side hustle as well.

Bank Job cons:
• Distance from home to office is quite far. Due to Lagos traffic, I leave home by 4.45am and the office by 5pm and get home by 8-9pm.
• No job security.

Federal govt. Job pros:
• Job growth.
• Job security.
• Flexible: I can comfortably run my side hustles.
• Probably deployed to a state that isn't expensive like Lagos.

Federal govt. Job cons:
• I applied with my OND(national diploma) so I would have to start from level 6.
• Less than 60k salary for a start (from the Info I gathered).
• Probably redeployed to the Northeast of Nigeria
• Since it is just a screening exercise, there's no guarantee I'd get my appointment letter.

Please, if there are people working with the system,
I need to know how many days would the training exercise take?
What's the starting salary of an AII(Assistant inspector of Immigration)?
Can I upgrade my level now that I have my BSc, if I get the job? If yes, then how?

I seriously need your advice and answers to those questions I asked, so I can draw my conclusion from them, because the decision I will take may either make or break me. Thank you.

PS: I have just 10 days till the screening exercise and I would have to travel down to my state of origin for the exercise.

Please MODs, move this to the front page.

CrazyMan.

Oga continue with the bank job
- free transport
- positive working environment
- Job flexibility. Work from home

A couple of years in the bank job, you can switch to any industry.

With the immigration job, that's probably what you will be doing for life.

I choose email as advised by this forum! Just dat I didn’t see the IQAS email where I can send the transcript!

Oga if you read through the pages well before you signed and paid, you should know how and where to send your transcript to IQAS.

Anyways, the email address LBR.IQAS@gov.ab.ca
The issuing authority of your credentials should email transcripts to LBR.IQAS@gov.ab.ca by meeting the following conditions:
a) must include your IQAS file number,

b) must be sent from a traceable and recognized issuing authority’s email account (Yahoo, Gmail, Hotmail and similar accounts will not be accepted) and signed by an appropriate authority (for example the registrar), and

c) documents must be stamped/signed/verified by an appropriate authority before sending.

Make una dey read contract well before you sign

The kind of questions we ask undecided

Weren’t you given options of how to send transcripts when you were completing your IQAS application?!

And you chose an option before you were transferred to the payment page.

So why are you now asking how to send your transcripts?

Why evaluating within the two bodies when one can serve the purpose? or is there something I am missing ?

Just to be on the safe side.

With IQAS, you're 'guaranteed' a professional degree (PD) equivalence. But creating an application with IQAS is a Herculean task.

Folks here weren’t sure about CES evaluating LLB as a PD last year, except for 1 testimony we got last year.

So yea, I started with IQAS but it was taking too long to create an application. So I switched to CES and created an application almost immediately. Kept trying IQAS and was successful about 3 months later.
