Good idea but hope this won't end up escalating the price of CNG astronomically. |
MEEVEET:OH! it's not your oil money again? So if colonial administrators built the bulk of the major infrastructures of old LAGOS using Lagos taxpayers money, then how does that relate to your lies of oil money building infrastructures that had been in use decades before that same oil was discovered? And how's 1960--1991 a distance of seventy years?or how old is the sovereinty of Nigeria again? Yeye! FG built Lagos, FG built Lagos, as if bridges alone are the infrastructures in the same Lagos. In no distance time, I'm sure you'll be shouting FG built LEKKI port and Lagos metro rail lines too. You may even attribute same to your oil money as well as if ALL THE LOANS THE STATE IS TAKEN ARE OIL FROM NIGER DELTA. Yet, it baffles to even realize the same LAGOS is the major contributor of the bulk of revenue (outside oil)for the same FG through the ports (sea, air), border, tax and commerce. Like they say, the hallmark of a failure is always his act of putting the blame of his inadequacy on another. |
Oneday82:IN yoruba culture, visitors are supposed to be cordially welcomed. Tthey're to be made comfortable and allowed all the beautiful memories they can take back with them. No matter how poor or otherwise they look, your treatment of them might be the catalyst for whatever tidings fate brings to your end thereafter. |
Kudos to the operatives |
They can gang up, yet they will still end up taking their usual place. God spare our lives till 2027 and beyond. |
Damn! A future receipt? |
Bulldozer90:Exactly my thought. Russia won't let go easily whilst the British are already insisting the portion that host most of the oil is ceded to them, hence systematically claiming ownership. And then, there are USA, GERMANY and CHINA who might now likely be paying close attention to the development. Yeah, something is about to raise a dust, and it may be a very horrible dust that would change the look of our planet forever. |
MEEVEET:ONLY a godforsaken liar peddles falsehood as truth. LAGOS was one of the most developed African cities before the discovery of oil (which even predated your FG by 3 years, but only three) Moreso, until 1966 when Ironsi stvpidly changed the government format, every single region was living on its own strenght and resources. Lagos was even developing all alone. Lagos port, especially APAPA had been serving the western and northern region since the colonial era. It was one of the busiest in Africa then. Carter bridge was initially constructed in the early 1900 by the colonial masters. The airport you mentioned was built during the second world war in 1944 as LAGOS AIRPORT (many airlines still refer to it as such on their tickets till date)and was only renamed to the current MMIA in honour of the murdered H.O.S General Murtala Muhammed. The rail line was laid even beyond Lagos state to the hinterland (as far as the kwara state of today)since the year 1898 so as to facilitate seamless transportation of crops (the main revenue generation of the time) from the farmlands across the, western region to the port (the one which had even transported some of your forebears overseas as slaves before 1900). The bill was solely provided by the colony of LAGOS. Same thing, the telecommunication undersea cable (which was connected from London), line and gargets. (done as far as Jebbah in today's NIGER STATE) All was procured before 1900 (around 1898 precisely)as communication tools for offices, supermarkets, and most importantly, the train control offices to forestall collision. All funded by LAGOS. Of course, as a kid that your statement revealed you are, you should have checked this date of establishments before spewing the gibberish. That most of these facilities and infrastructures were renamed to NIGERIAN doesn't change the fact that your FG merely inherited them, not built them. Even though the national stadium was constructed in 1960, it wasn't from oil money (it hadn't been discovered in a commercial quantity then and there was still regional government format in use, so it was constructed from WESTERN REGION COMMON WEALTH or betterstill, according to documented records,)from taxpayers money. Hospitals, schools, cinemas, supermarket, banks (check out the date of establishment of FIRST BANK and UNION BANK OF NIGERIA)were all around since the colonial era. So what's your point.? Oh yeah, FG constructed many bridges but WHAT ARE BRIDGES THAT A RICH COLONY LIKE LAGOS CANNOT BUILD APLENTY? IKEJA (the Lagos capital and environs were intially of western region), OYO STATE, OGUN STATE, all build numerous bridges in them too and are still building, all from WESTERN REGION WEALTH (thanks to AWOLOWO not FG). FASHOLA, AMBODE and now SANWO OLU between themselves had built numerous bridges too. Sanwo Olu alone has facilitated almost 20 bridges construction. Even EKO ATLANTIC CITY, a private project has 17 bridges in it already. That's more than a certain region ever had. And around ten more are still to go into the project by the time the city's full landmass is fully reclaimed. So, what's bridges that LAGOS can't build? Well, I guess the internet is merely a tool of fun to today's youth and not a platform to educate oneself. |
In all honesty, the country should be on the discussion of the fiscal restructuring right now but I don't understand what the legislatives are doing not pushing for it, particularly those representatives from the southernmost region. At least they should start lobbying for the change right now but I guess they care less because the current system favours their pockets. |
.......and the WIKEned SIM saga continues! |
It's only in Nigeria citizens complain about inadequate public infrastructure whilst having problems maintaining or using the ones already provided. And to think of it, who in his/er sanity takes a boy/girl child on such dangerous mission of crossing a busy highway? The said parent/adult should be subjected to compulsory psychiatric evaluation. She can't be alright! |
The tag thing though, very thoughtful of the criminals. But yeah, it makes them less of a devil notwithstanding. |
USA just pushed the UKRAINIANS into troubles and then proceed to render little next-to-nothing support. Beware of the associates that spur you for a fight, they may not mean well for you. After the war, UKRAINE may never recover to her pre-war state. |
Am I the only one who hasn't seen much of what Adeleke is doing in OSUN? Election is gone, it's time to put in some works. All we care about is the development whether he dances every day or not. |
HBD and long life to her. |
Good girls |
7 months unpaid workers salaries AND SOME !D!OTS ARE PUTTING THE OTTI-GUY AHEAD OF SANWO OLU as the best performing governor. When an EASTERNER tells you it's daytime, please make a frantic effort to verify before buying into it. There's a ninety percent chance you're being sold a lie. inoki247:DON'T mind them. They love shielding the faults of their irresponsible leaders, painting them unblemished white to the outside world, all in hope that such might be allowed a chance to undertake national assignment in future wherein such could be able to replicate his stealing prowess to facilitate development in the lagging region they call home. They don't hate the crime whatever the degree (and don't be deceived by the velocity of their anger and the magnitude of their curses when a crime is reported), they only hate that the crime is done by anyone other than one of them.. Unfortunately for them, all other ethnic groups know them much more than they can ever imagined. |
Go girl, climb on! |
Impressive but they should have paid some attention to the capacities upgrade too. A well-packaged stadium would generate the required enthusiasm to a better participation from the indigenous stakeholders (potential sponsors) and motivation for the grassroots players (football, sprints, basketball, rugby, etc players, the fans, and volunteers). We can achieve it if we try it. IF finance was a clog in the works now, that's understandable but plans should be in the pipeline for the close future to bring up this dream to reality. Imagine the chains of benefits getting the youth professionally into lucrative sporting activities (games)in inter- and intra states championship that's well branded and accepted. The expected ROI would surely be more implosive than the state of our current entertainment industry, particularly the musical. |
Farook had an audience in mind when he shared that piece and he clearly understood that the group cherishes nothing but lies and propaganda against Asiwaju Tinubu. |
Farook was only being mischievous |
The heading seems misleading. Wike was all assuring the people he's still ahead of the game but also admitted he must've installed the wrong successor and he is sorry for the mistake as such is already affecting his loyal base. His statement was clear. |
sambrow:DON'T just nullify his claim, provide evidence. Which sector has Sanwo Olu underperformed (against any governor anywhere in Nigeria, past and present) and what's the parameters used to put Otti ahead of Sanwo Olu in the performance index? About running under AMBODE's fantastic performance to write off Sanwo Olu's incredible performance, is just a mischievous antics or trick to divert away from the main point of argument. And even to correct that impression, each Lagos successive government has always outperformed her predecessor and SANWO OLU's government ain't an exception. If in doubt, bring up AMBODE's scorecard, let's juxtapose it with SANWO's scorecard and see who fair better. Of course, you can argue that the IGR had grown to give the current leverage over the pasts (as more money means more capabilities to facilitate more projects) but that's still credit to the current government for the increment. |
flyinnizam:SANWO OLU is in a league of his own when it comes to number and calibres of projects initiated as well as the multiple number of sectors covered. But then, you can always blame others immeasurable comparison to him on their poor IGR. |
The road may be rough but it is leading us right to the beautiful garden of hope and prosperity we all want. Lagos came through such bumpy ride in her early days of rescusitation too only to rebound onto a smooth path to stability. I believe similar fate awaits Nigeria too. |
Can they? Who pays the piper dictates the tunes. |
Impressive. Using tact to divert blame, especially to cover up obvious malpractises. |
Good initiative there |
Damn! What a traumatic experience? |
But he was or still a part of the reasons the citizens are subjected to such treatment. |
The funny irony is that while IKPEAZU was busy looting ABIA, the indigenes were patently unconcerned as their astute concentration was on LAGOS and H.E Sanwo Olu who was busy working to deliver big projects, most especially, THE BLUE RAIL LINE which they called a conduit to loot LAGOS TREASURY. |
Do the crime, do the time |
