Afam4eva: I never signed a gentlemanly agreement not to contest in 2015 - JonathanThey should produce the document if there was truly an agreement |
Charles Okafor is no doubt a great preacher, I can't forget his visit to UNN around 2010 and whoever sees him should thank him for me. |
agbameta: Imota rice mill, Lagos state. Why becloud the good news from Kwarra with photos of Rice Mill in Lagos? Let's give honour to the appropriate quarter. Fashola recieved his own honour when he launched the Rice mill but this is not about him. |
Yet another group from nowhere will come out and tell us that poverty is on the increase. |
Are the MODS asleep? Cover the boy's face before you damage his life in the name of helping him. Besides, was this thread brought to the frontpage as just another news or are Nairalanders expected to form another charity group? |
Wherever Islamic fanatics go they leave behind pain, sorrow and blood. RIP sir! |
There is no doubt that GEJ currently has done better than his predecessors even with the presence of distractors on all sides. But he should think deeply before declaring his intention for a second term. Not because he is afraid of oppositions both within and outside PDP but because of the need to fulfill promises he made to people who supported him in his hour of need. Mandela is currently a Hero in Africa because he chose to leave when the ovation was loudest but if GEJ decides to run and all the opposition parties keep presenting Buhari and his likes I will still vote for Uncle Joe. "He continued: “Jonathan will be there for almost six years; there was a time, he was Vice, and now President for four years. What is he looking for again? It is just like comparing it with Obasanjo; what was Obasanjo looking for in third term?" |
AFOLSNETWORKS: CROSSING FROM HELL TO HEAVEN, FROM DEATH TO LIFECan you explain what you mean by the bolded or has that message become outdated? |
And what a brilliant goal it was. |
sage007: I believe NAFDAC is not as active as it was under Prof Akunyili, but we should not say this is because a medical doctor cum pharmacologist is d linchpin of the organisation. I strongly perceive that this current lull is because the Oga @ the top in Aso Rock priority is not on how 2 cure Nigeria of its corrupt tendencies but to scheme right from inception of the current term on ways of coming aboard for the 2nd time. Please also bear in mind that we currently have a tribalised Doctor as the Chief pilot of this nation as noting evil can be perpetrated by the people of the East & South-south who are by all standard the major peddlers of the so called fake drugs.Forget excuses, NAFDAC does not need the permission of the president to make a high profile arrest. If the current Oga at the top of NAFDAC has no motivating factor(based on your assertion) to fight the war against fake drug he shouldn't be there in the first place. |
marvelling: Nafdac is actually alive and well. Many people think the function of nafdac is just to get rid of fake drugs, they are not really known for checkmating the excesses of the food & beverage industry in nigeria. I'd say nafdac is doing a good job under the present administration in comparison with SON which we never hear anything about.Sounds like the logic they used to kill EFCC after Ribadu, they told us the fight against corruption is not all about making noise but that they are working behind the scene, today EFCC is dead waiting burial. I never knew about NAFDAC (except in secondary school textbook) until Dora came, since she left it seems NAFDAC has returned to its default position when it was established decades ago. The only good news I have heard from NAFDAC in about 5years now is that I can test the originality of a drug on mobile phone. NAFDAC IS IN COMA. |
I guess we are in for another round of purported exposures. Round 1: Femi Fani kayode Vs Bianca Round 2: Olusegun Obasanjo Vs Farida Waziri Incidentally both have a threat of legal action, let's see if we will see another public apology from he who first cast the stone. Funny enough it is always a man against a woman. |
The funny thing is that so many of us don't even know the exact thing ASUU is fighting for. I have not been able to get a hold of this very agreement ASUU said they signed with FG. Can any one who has this agreement upload it here, enough of being old that ASUU is fighting for the students, let them publish this agreement and let the world see. |
Error. |
I was once told that Sadam Hussein had weapon of mass destruction therefore Iraq must be attacked. A decade after, the weapon is still a myth so why should I believe any of them on this chemical weapon saga? I don't believe any of these super powers, each of them have one or two things to gain from all these conflicts around the world after all they are not father christmas. America will fight Islamic militants in Afghanistan and support them against a sitting govt in Libya and Syria. The once peaceful Egypt is gradually becoming worse than Iraq. Russia will supply weapon to militants in one country and turn around to become United Nation's police in Syria. Britain just sit down and be doing follow follow for America while using CNN and BBC to brainwash all of us. I hope they don't turn their attention to Nigeria using flimsy excuses. |
eddiebruk: South Africa’s GDP of $384bn. Nigeria’s GDP is now $268.7bnThere is what is called the rebasing of the GDP, Nigeria is expected to rebase her GDP by the end of the year and if that happens the GDP could jump to about 40% of it's current figure. Afterwards, the difference between South Africa and Nigeria GDP will shrink . Ghana did a rebase of its GDP few years ago and that is why they are mentioned in the ranking. |
I abandoned my UBA account some years ago because of unexplained deductions. Another bank that needs to watch it is GTB, their once brilliant customer service is dropping by day. |
I predict that very soon this gang will cry foul and seek for public sympathy just like Amechi. When Amechi was dealing with LG chairmen in his state only few people complained but when he was dealt with he turned around to seek our sympathy. Atiku and co are having fun now but when the pendulum swings you'll hear them start crying like chicken in a pool of water. Who fights an African President and expect to win especially when the masses are not on your side? |
So a Yoruba movie (translated to English) don turn English again?....chaiiiii. Why not call "Second chance" (a Spanish movie) english b/cos the name of d movie is in english? ...or why not call "Forbidden kingdom" by Jet lee/Jackie english.. ? ![]() .....u people will neva stop amusing me with this ur "deny it" attitudes. Must u deny something better than urs? .....anyway, it rests strong in ur bloods !
Confirm your facts, Figurine is in English but with a Yoruba setting. Except if it has a Yoruba version. |
And so in your mind, u think capitalists like US have any other language except English in producing their movies?...... ...ever heard of a Yoruba movie called "Figurine" ?......its popular in Africa, but ALAS to your embarrasment , its a Yoruba movie that won an African award !!!...made a good one poster, but dont be hurt that Indian films circulate round the globe, and language used often for production is Indian. !
Stop embarrasing yourself. Figurine is an English Movie by Afolayan (I can't remember his first name). Face the topic before we derail the tread. |
Segeggs: Yorubas are far ahead. In your mind now you have hit Igbos hard . It may interest you to know that capitalists are hardly conservatives, they think outside the box. Producing most of their movies in English instead of traditional language shows they want to capture a wider market and that is why Nollywood is as popular as it is currently. Can you imagine one of the international airlines showing a Yoruba or Hausa movie in a flight? It's all about Business 101.To the Op, great idea but when is this city going to come alive, I don't believe in visions without a deadline. Otherwise we may keep hearing about this city till I get to my retirement age. |
I have been thinking that Molue was banned from these routes years ago. |
The plan A strategy of using Boko haram to bomb the north has failed now these northern oligarchy have switched over to plan B which is to "Bomb" PDP. Atiku was not happy with Obj and he left for ACN in 2007, what stops him from leaving for APC if he is not happy with GEJ? I can now see why GEJ through Peter Obi had to sacrifice Soludo who is seen as Atiku's ally. |
chronique: Well,in my case,I was more of an extrovert when I was much younger but as I grew older,I became an introvert and I like it that way. Nobody comes to my house to visit anyhow and if you must see me,you must call to say you're coming. You can be at my gate and knock all day and I won't answer you if I'm not expecting you. When you're tired, you'd go to your house. I hardly visit people and I love having my space. Moreover,I love being indoors and it hardly bores me. So long as I have internet access 24/7,I'm ok. I'd just spend my time reading stuffs online.I can see that you and the OP have been monitoring me Infact if you visit me and stay too long I may even leave you and sleep off. Most of my friends are extrovert though, they do the talking while I do the listening. I spend my time thinking of how to solve problems, I just enjoy being me, am proudly an introvert. |
Was this judgement influenced by Festus Odimegwu's comment just weeks ago? How come the judge just realised that a judgement needs to be delivered on a census that took place 7 years ago? It is not news that the entire census of 2006 was a mere allocation of numbers but what will become news is if a new census will be conducted in Lagos. If that happens Gov Kwankwaso of kano state may kill somebody ![]() |
This is thesame way they killed Yaradua for their selfish interest. The Governor should return to the hospital until he is fit to rule, if he remains here and dies like Yaradua he alone remains the prime loser. |
johnstar: mumu, hu told u chelsea sold drogba, he ws out of contractI don't know how old you are but if you can't post your comment without insulting whom you don't know then you have a lot of growing up to do. |
Good for Eto but what is the logic in selling Drogba to buy Eto? |
At the dawn of democracy in Anambra, a certain Chiwoke Mbadinuju was a governor. He messed up the state thinking the sweetness of political power lasts forever and transferred our wealth as a state into the pocket of his godfather. Fast forward to few years later, thesame Mbadinuju became political nonentity in Anambra. I pity Obi because if all these are true it means he just shot himself in the leg. |
I don't blame them, I blame APGA and Obi. If Soludo issue did not arise who will bother about who wins PDP primary and how many faction they have. I will rather tear my voter's card than vote anyone that bears Uba in Anambra State. |
CosmicJames: Declaring church account? Maybe not bad. Bt looking @ it with a biblical view, I think we shldn't b considering it as d bible is completely silent on such issues if I'm not mistaking.I don't think the Bible is completely silent on such issue. From the Old Testament we see several instances where materials donated by the members of the congregation were numbered and accounted for. From Moses in Exodus Chapter 38 down to the time of the kings. Even Judas must have given account of his holdings which made other Disciples realise that he (Judas) was a thief (John 12:6) otherwise how can they call him a thief if they didn't know what was supposed to be in the disciples/church's account? |
I have been pondering over this question for a very long time but in other not to be accused of "speaking against God's annointed" as some of my fellow christians are fund of saying I have not been able to voice it out until now. As a member of a fellowship on campus when I was an undergraduate, the financial accounts of the fellowship were usually published and a copy given to every member of the fellowship at the end of every semester. This helps every member to know what his tithes, offerings and donation were used for and also help some curious students settle some questions they may have had about the funding of the fellowship. This level of transparency which I noticed in the fellowship on campus seem to be missing in our mainstream churches. Our churches demand for offerings and donations (I see nothing wrong in that) which they use for the running of the church and business investments (e.g private primary, secondary schools and universities). But what I don't understand is why they do not remember to give account of their financial transactions to the members especially regarding the aspects that involves business investments. Now my questions are: 1. Is it wrong for the members to know the financial state of a church they belong to? 2. Since churches do not make declarations to the govt, is it impossible for our churches and pastors to render an annual financial account of how the money the members contributed for the furtherance of the Gospel were spent or are such reports meant for only few leaders? 3. Lastly, how does our churches numerous business investment benefit us as members of the church? To the "touch not my annointed" crew, I hope it has not become a crime/sin to ask our annointed questions? |
