The eye witnessed should've posted the "genuine" wedding pics to substantiate his/her claim, for now am indifferent. |
Finally the moment of truth has arrived, let's see who will attend but I hope the attentance register will not be "rigged" too. By this time on wednesday Nigeria shall know who is the leader of the cabals that call themselves Governors. Amechi should thank God he is dealing with a cool headed president, if it were to be a certain Obj the headline would have since read "Amechi impeached by 4 lawmakers in a beer parlour" |
In 2011 they promised to make Nigeria ungovernable if uncle Joe wins, I wonder what they'll promise this time around since Jona has won already. |
News like this makes one wish Dora Akunyili is still in NAFDAC, watch as govt agencies will start trading blames on who allows it into the country. |
Kudos to the civilian JTF but I hope CNN, BBC, Aljazera etc take note of these kinds of good news? |
Am sure the OP posted a wrong picture, no this can't be true. A limousine used in a deeperlife wedding, pls someone should wake me. After so many members were criticed for buying classy cars which are seen as a mark of worldliness?? This can't be the wedding pics, pardon me but I don't believe the OP. |
Am trying to do a mental calculation of who APC could present from the north, am sure it's not Buhari except if am over-rating their political intelligent ![]() |
Highly impressive, what a turn of fate. |
parki: Evidence of an un-united state. This is the reason why igbos will never smell power in Nigeria.don't be too quick to say what you don't know. Have they gone through primary elections or you haven't heard of such? With time the men will be separated from the boys. |
ofilispeaks: Is it just me or does N300,000,000 not feel like too small for a quality road project? I mean one (1) house in Lekki can cost N100 million? Is he saying that the road is 3 Lekki houses away from perfectionIt may be possible if there is little embezzlement, the road has a similar distance like Allen avenue in Ikeja. |
Good one Obi especially for the six months target, I've set my alarm clock to Dec 2013. Hope to see it completed when I come for xmas. |
I don't like promises and plans that have no deadline. Oga Director of NRC when is this going to start? I think it's time we start asking these politicians to give us specific time frame for these wonderful promises so that we can easily hold them accountable, for all I care this may take another 2 years to start. At least I now know that Fashola is running behind schedule in his mini-rail project because he gave us a specific date. Minister of Works promised that work on 2nd Niger bridge will start in April, this is June and am still waiting. Let them stop raising our hopes if they are not ready to fulfill them. Obj launched rail transport master plan that will connect all state capitals but gave no timing so no one could hold him accountable and he left Aso rock with the plan in his pocket. South westerners promised themselves rail lines that will connect their states, years later we haven't seen a single pillar because nobody told us when it'll start or be completed. |
Make una no vex o, does Italy pay their players pensions? Why are there so many old men in Italian side? |
Kiaso: hey look here i understand wot u are tryin to say but i tell u u dont need a pigin english bible to preach in piginPreaching with pidgin English means that you recognise there are people who only understand pidgin English, what do you then expect them to read after you might have brought them to Christ? It's we who understand English that view this version with a sense of humour, to those who see it as a Lingua franca it is a welcome development. Some people probably complained like this when the Yoruba and Igbo version was launched. |
American wonder ![]() |
stockbull: it's ten percent appreciation not fifteenI see, CSCS website noted it as almost 15% gain. I guess the difference was caused by the change in the price it closed on thursday and the price it opened on Friday. Thanks for your clarification. |
It is unfortunate that Karma chooses to pay a man a visit at his time of happiness. Well, he that kills by the swords dies by the sword. |
I laugh aloud whenever I hear these homos complain of human right. Can you imagine mad men who are locked up at Yaba left complaining that their rights to free movements are being infringed upon. All |
Elai147: Aliko Dangote say "if you don't have ambition, you shouldn't be alive" but Oando own na overambitious and they are now suffering from the effects of attempting overambitious magic. I don pause my order for that coy since. Waiting for the right time to enter..Thanks for your explanation, it's unfortunate I entered it when the coast looked good. Secondly, since the maximum movements of share prices in a day is + or - 10%, how come Dangote Sugar gained almost 15% today alone, are there exceptions to this rule? |
Abeg my Ogas in the house, what could be the cause of Oando's straight falls for 3 days now? Has some people seen the long expected result? |
Na you even get time to watch am.....never watched this show since it began....
It's the last program I'll switch on if am alone but since am not alone there isn't much one can do. |
The question no one has really answered is "what is the essence of this show and why is it so popular if not its sex appeal?". I can't find any trace of African identity in its entirety, perhaps it's all about being civilised. |
With Sir Alex out of his way, I don't think Chelsea will have much problem dominating the league in the coming seasons. |
Let's do small mathematics If it takes a state in Northern Nigeria 34years to raise its cut-off point from 0 to 2, in how many years time will they raise it to 50? This policy is very counter productive. An average student in the south will keep studying harder in other to beat the high cut-off point while an average student in the north will keep getting more dumb afterall, all that is required of him to gain admission is just ability to write his name in the exam attendance sheet. Until this policy is abrogated, the southerners will keep getting better and smarter than northerners. The north is over-pampered. |
If after 40years of this policy, a state like Yobe still requires 1% score to gain admission in 2013 (https://www.nairaland.com/1318269/2013-national-common-entrance-examination), it means all the efforts of the past 40 years is a waste. Deductively, it will take such a state upto 500 years to raise their cut-off to 50%. Are the rest of us going to keep paying paying this success inhibiting price? If this issue stops at this unity school level it would've been endurable but it extends to the university admission and other aspects of our country system. No wonder one hardly finds core northerners in private establishments where merits are rewarded. My annoyance is that these sets of pampered students end up leading the rest of us. |
HAH: This is a simple logic and wisdom applied by the initiators of unity schools,The truth is that you can't eat your cake and have it. These same people that are admitted on a cut-off point of 2 (for the sake of peace and unity) will also be admitted into the university on a cut-off point of 50 and finally become "graduates". They will also use same system to enter our legislative houses and sponsor ridiculous bills and thanks to democracy being a game of number, such bills will be passed and become laws and we are all here wondering why Nigeria is still staggering behind. How much critical thinking do u expect from a leader who graduated from school based on a score of 1%? Why are we building a system that hampers critical reasoning and progressive minds. Even if these systems were put in place in 1914, it's time we get them dismantled otherwise, Nigeria will remain the way it has been since 1914 afterall why should we keep living thesame way but expecting a different result. This quota system denied me admission in Unilag in 2005 so I know how it feels to see someone who is less brilliant than you secure admission simply because you are from Anambra state. If I had been discouraged I would've been among those roaming the streets while one Adamu from Gombe who didn't study more than 2 pages of his text book enjoys the priviledge of being a graduate. If these people get frustrated after several attempts the same people who got admission on a platter of gold will still mock them for selling spare parts. Why is Nigeria killing it's bright minds as a sacrifice for peace and unity? Here is a child in primary 4 being told (as someone puts it) that he must be 67x better than his colleagues from Gombe in other to be admitted into the same school. He will experience the same fate when he tries to gain admission into the university, because his sibblings are considered brilliant. After graduation he will still be told that some offices in the federal ministries are reserved for his colleage from Gombe. If he dares to enter politics he will someday be told that presidency is exclusively reserved for his colleage from Gombe because his grandfather lost the Biafran war in 1970. how do you want such a child to believe in one Nigeria? Is this system not perpetuating the born to rule mentality among our Northern colleagues? |
I think Nairaland should find a way to confirm these kinds of sensitive news before they are brought to the from page. As at this point, there hasn't been a witness nor a confirmation from any other Nairalander yet it's on the front page. |
Is Oando ever going to release their 2012 Fy results? It's taking almost forever. |
I don't support and will never support Buhari but this CAN's statement is unwholesome. Their statements these days are becoming too political for my liking, they should know when and how to talk. After arresting Buhari for expressing his opinion what next? |
Let's see how Buhari will respond to this. |
I personally can't see the difference here between what the Pharisees and the saducees accused Christ of; trying to catch Him on what he says. Christ probably refrained from speaking against the Govt of his time which could've prompted them to ask Him if the "masses" should pay tax or not; they probably wanted to know on which side He belonged. I've tried searching the scripture but yet to find where Christ took on the govt of Herod rather He focuses on criticising the religious leaders of his time. Even when he was about to be killed, He still didn't critice Herod nor the Roman govt. Paul didn't critice the govt neither did Peter, their focus was on the religious leaders because that was what they were called for. Am yet to find any preacher that hasn't condemned the attrocities of the likes of Boko Haram but if you want them to start commenting on govt policies then am sure that is very wrong. For instance, that you are successful preacher does not make you an expert in economic matters. Can someone be specific on the "national issues" he/she expects him to comment on because as far as am concerns "national issues" are too ambigous. |
More troubles for Nigeria, our cheap fuel will certainly find its way to Ghana. Fuel scarcity looms, our borders are porous. I hope we wouldn't endup being penny wise but pound foolish by our rejection of subsity removal because I don't trust our borders and fuel can't be sold at almost half the price our neighbours sell and you expect the product to be consumed by Nigerians alone. |
