Politics › Re: Can The Fg Make Anambra The Industrial And Technological Hub Of Nigeria/africa by PHIPEX(m): 4:02pm On Dec 08, 2013
alj harem: Nigeria is not making any headway soon unless they redistribute her wealth and population. Innoson has already set the pace for Anambra along side other companies.

I don talk my own.

The more Nigeria keep concentrating everything in Lagos and Abuja while we keep giving unprecedented amount of money to ND states in the name of oil producing, then we are not making any head way.

1. Clean up the Niger-delta

2. Make Anambra a manufacturing centre because of the strategic location near the niger bank for easy transport and also the people in anambra are very creative.

3. Repair or upgrade the Port-harcourt port.

These are the things Nigerians are meant to be doing rather than just wasting money on some states, wasting her talents and time.
Whenever I see great ideas like this I always wish Nigeria jettisons that federal character policy that makes us waste our resources on things and places that are less productive. I really wish there will be a paradigm shift in the way this country is being run. Potentials and opportunities are daily wasted just to maintain the tribal status quo.

Anyone who has watched recent Nollywood movies especially those cinema worthy ones (and those shown on weekends by DSTV) and still says they are not improving is a big joker.

ilugunboy: Let him try the draft bill....if it will ever get pass the first reading before being thrown into the bin.

You think you can insult people and still get away with it.?
So even his APC brothers wouldn't even support his bill, how come you guys wanted to impose on us whom you can't support to succeed? How else can we define hypocricy? Was Ngige's attempted imposition a ploy to punish us for insulting you? grin grin
Politics › Re: Importers Urge FG To Make Onitsha Port Cargo Destination by PHIPEX(m): 12:26pm On Dec 08, 2013
ilugunboy: Because Ngige understand the politics of the NASS better than you!

Ask me why the River Niger will never be dredge...
A very lame excuse. Are those that sponsor bills ignorant of the politics of NASS?
Politics › Re: Importers Urge FG To Make Onitsha Port Cargo Destination by PHIPEX(m): 11:23am On Dec 08, 2013
gerald09: Dis is a great idea, but just urging d FG is like coming to political section and blabin', d gud news is dey already have body nw its tym to meet up with d senator/MHR rep Anambra state. From dere d can persuade d houses to put it in d budget. den after dat has bin don dey can now come to d public n sell it to us. Dat way d dream can easily be achieved.
That is what I expect someone like Ngige whose constituency is Onitsha and who has not sponsored any bill to do instead of interfering in the good works being done by Obi in the state. Imagine the ovation he will recieve from Anambrarians if he sponsors this bill but he wouldn't. He prefers to wait for constituency allowance to constuct VIP toilet.

Am trying to imagine what will happen if the FG sacks the lecturers as they threatened. Will the lecturers go to court? If yes, what stopped them from going to court to challenge the FG all these while instead of wasting students' time on strike action? Time is money o !!

Politics › Re: BREAKING: Anambra Election – Obiano Is declared Winner by PHIPEX(m): 1:02pm On Dec 01, 2013
zeelo2014: My question is why is SW more interested in this election than the last Ondo election? Is it out of love? As a Nigerian wherever u're from u're free to go to ANY region and invest there to make profit & better the lives of people there.
The reason is simple, Anambra is arguably the most popular state in Nigeria apart from Lagos and maybe Kano. A win in Anambra would have been a massive victory for APC.

Somebody should tell fashola that there is a Ghana Stock Exchange, Kenya Stock Exchange etc. Nigeria is a unique entity, let's stick to what works for us. If he needs a stock exchange that bears Lagos, the Lagos state govt should establish one afterall some cities have more than one exchange.

The extreme pessimism of Nigerians about Nigeria give credence to whatever evil the western media says about us. Some of us are so fast in believing every negative report about us but questions any positive news from Africa. Don't be surprised some Nigerians will agree with CNN if they say 90% of Nigerians are poor. It's what Chimamanda calls "The danger of a single story".

Politics › Re: You Will Suffer For Your ‘shameless And Selfish Politics’, APC Chieftain Joe Igb by PHIPEX(m): 3:53pm On Nov 23, 2013
agbameta: It's more than obvious that Mr Igbokwe with all his efforts to make his people see the right light at the end of the tunnel is wasting his time because this train left the train station a long long time ago and a good chunk if the people he's appealing to are far far gone, they are basically irredeemable especially with local demagogues like Obi and others yanking their chains to trail the narrow, obstructive and dirty road to a constantly moving destination.

The only and best strategy in their leaders arsenal to medicate and control their people is still the same tribal baiting and emotional sentiments especially since non of them is blessed with any significant administrative skills, sense of propose and direction or meaningful achievement to stand on.

Tribalism as a weapon of manipulation and distraction also makes it very easy to help their people point their fingers in other direction to help explain away the reason/s for lack of progress and development in their region. The people themselves are not personally and politically sophisticated to figure out that the same leaders are directly responsible for lack of progress and advancements in their region simply because the folks outside their region they blame for their ills are not directly responsible for their lives, they don't administrate anything in their land, their own leaders does. The same people grandstand tribally by saying things like, this man is the best candidate, but we wont vote for him because he belongs to the wrong political party..

How do you deny yourself good and quality candidates because of political and tribal affiliations and instead saddle yourselves with the same unskilled and incompetent people you know can not move you forward in life then turn around to point fingers at other people, throw tribal insults at them and blame them for your problems when in fact you are directly responsible for your problems based on the kind of people you prefer, based on your own requirement which remains tribal requirements and affiliations.

....back to Mr Igbokwe. Like I said, the train left the train station a long time ago and your people are not interested any whatever you are advocating, they are not predisposed to such level of understanding or social and political sophistication.

Today, tribalism sells in your land and you can not do a damn thing about it.
I would have mistaken you for a comedian. Bring out Willie Obiano and Ngige CVs and let's see who should be crowned the king. You people just keep crying without any substance. First you said election was rigged now the cry is that Anambrarians voted on sentiment, I wonder what the next topic will be. Must Ngige win for Anambra to be considered progessive enough? Election is an opportunity for choices to be made, unfortunately the people rejected your candidate, why can't you people concede for once? You guys will keep blaming everyone but your candidate and before you know it 2015 will be a repeat of 2011.

Italiano1: I am shocked at how a grown man can completely mis-interprete my post and ascribe his own meaning to it.

1. Show me where I told you who to vote for?

2. Show me where I stated that Ngige is a better man for the job?

This is a typical post that exemplifies the lack of comprehension by Nigerians; you just went on a rant about things I neither explicitly stated or implicitly implied.
You can further explain the meaning of this stement you made earlier
They are content with and endorse an election that was full of irregularities as long as the outcome did not favour the contestant from the ofen.manu party dominated by Awolowo supporters.
Politics › Re: You Will Suffer For Your ‘shameless And Selfish Politics’, APC Chieftain Joe Igb by PHIPEX(m): 12:38pm On Nov 23, 2013
Italiano1: Nigerians are watching with interest the hypocrisy, primordialism and tribalism emanating from the east of the country.

Ibos have publicly defended a blatantly corrupt national minister just because she shares their ethnicity but spend all their time vilifying governors of states that are hundreds of kilometers from their region. They are content with and endorse an election that was full of irregularities as long as the outcome did not favour the contestant from the ofen.manu party dominated by Awolowo supporters. The current president has got almost an 100% approval rating in alaibo because he painted Enugu airport and called it international, they rejoice because he sent an assistant special assistant who is an ibo man to tell ibos that they are the most important tribe to him.

Ibos should appreciate Ibo politicians like Igbokwe who are able to see through the charade and know that the outcome would only be a disastrous one for Ndibo. I am really interested in how the current strategy of creating enemies in the North and the west will pan out.
Am appalled how a full grown man who may never have stepped his foot on the soil of Anambra and knows next to nothing about its politics will come to tell me whom I should vote to govern me. Who told you that Ngige is a better man for this job, show me your facts and figures. Ngige ruled Anambra for 3years but the only development he could lay hold to were the few roads he tarred in Idemmili LG and its environ which happens to be his home. No single individual here can mention what he did in Anambra North senatorial zone. Can you Mr know all mention a single gutter Ngige constructed in Anambra East and West LGAs? You can google all you like but you can't find any because he concentrated on his home town for 3 whole years. Yet you want these people who bear the brunt to foolishly vote thesame man again for possibly another 8yrs of pain.

Ngige was hailed for the little he did in 2003 because Mbadinuju whom he replaced was a disaster, Obi's record has made a mockery of whatever Ngige would have boasted of but APC supporters want the entire state to be handed over to a failure. If Ngige is an exceptional performer, how come the only thing he did in 2yrs as a Senators of the Federal Republic with half a Billion naira constituency allowance was the construction of a VIP toilet? To make the matter worse, Ngige's running mate was a 2 time Chairman of Anambra west LG and a one time federal House of Rep member yet his village does not have electricity nor access road. What sort of campaign do you expect from such a person and is that the kind of performers you want to rule Anambra? How long do you expect him to fool his people, thank APC lost in his village. If Igbos are ethnically biased as you would have me believe why did Ngige win a senatorial seat on ACN platform? You APC supporters should accept defeat and stop polluting Nairaland with your noise.

Politics › Re: National Confab: APC Is Standing Against The People – Odumakin by PHIPEX(m): 9:38am On Nov 17, 2013
Afam4eva: Yinka Odumakin is one man that always stands for the truth and he has proven to be an independent thinker unlike the many leaders that flaunt themselves as the leaders of the SW. It's unfathomable to think that the same characters who have being calling for a Nation Conference are now the ones opposing it. Isn't that witchcraft? They probably don't want the credit to go to Jonathan's government for conducting a conference and they probably thought Jonathan will never cede to their request for the conference, that's why they kept gallivanting round the atmosphere making all sorts of noise concerning the conference and now that it's finally here, they have started singing a new song. This just shows that these people are satanic characters who are not concerned about the country but about their selfish quest for power.
You have said it all, these days the noise of APC supporters on nairaland are so loud that every non-Yoruba easily take them to be the voice of the Yoruba nation. How can Tinubu suggest we throw out this golden opportunity just for his political convenience? I expected him to argue on the modalities for the conference and not total rejection of the offer. This is another minus for APC after their stand on State of emergency.

Celebration in Awka as APGA takes over lead
Ozioma Ubabukoh

The streets in Awka are getting busy as residents in the capital city are right now trooping out to celebrate the victory of the All Progressives Grand Alliance in the Anambra guber polls.

The business people are gradually opening up shops, thereby defying the curfew order that should end by 10pm.

Before now, the PDP was in early lead.

2013 has been Nigeria's greatest year in football.

African Champions 2013
Under 17 World Champions 2013
And now the first African team to qualify for Brazil 2014 (without the usual permutations that characterised our past qualifications)

Congratulations Nigeria!!!

It is your choice my dear but what am saying is that this kind of news can be interpreted differently by different people. To some, it means the other banks can fail any moment and you know what that implies. Even if they are too big to fail, why make it a public service announcement? Remember what the public responses were when Soludo said our banks were immuned to global financial crises.
