"I realy don't know why you guys like Ethiopia" Has it occurred to you that maybe people are hyping up Ethiopia merely to annoy you, spite you, and get a reaction out of you? ![]() I'm not particularly interested in Ethiopia but one decent thing about them is that although 30% Muslim, they tend not to kiss Arab as$ like some of their neighbors. |
"We just joined so we could receive protection" Smh |
^^^^^ You think I don't know that you guys were houseboys and underlings to your Turkish gun suppliers? Did you post that link because your oddly shaped head couldn't process what I wrote? Smh = shaking my head. I was shaking my head in disgust. The Turks gave you guns to invade Ethiopia with, but nearly 500 years later , Ogaden is in their territory and you have no significant part of their territory. More recently the Russians gave Siad Barre weapons and support and he was able to build up the military and yet Somalia still failed to capitalize on their temporary advantage. Smh |
ayanle456: I tried to be nice...FUKC YOU NI99GER.Is that the best you can do? Go back to licking Arab assh0le already and stop polluting the internet with your idiocy. |
"As Somalia was under the protection of the ottoman empire at its peak" Smh |
Funny that Somalis are scurrying into Kenya, a country with a large population of groups that speak Bantu languages, in order to seek refuge, yet some Arab wannabe is on the internet mouthing off about this fictitious Somali superiority. His people are slum dwelling refugees in Kenya because they screwed up their own country and he's here trying to look "noble". ![]() |
People tried to claim he was Igbo a while back : https://www.nairaland.com/735104/namadi-sambo-igbo-man Now it seems the new trend is claiming that he's from Edo state: http://www.nigeriavillagesquare.com/forum/main-square/64883-rumors-namadi-sambos-root-edo-igboland.html Both of these rumors are silly and so are the rumormongers that spread them. Let them give even one verifiable detail of Sambo's supposed southern ancestry before they expect anyone to believe these tall tales. |
nagoma: Softly softly Jona brother. Sambo's parents came from the south south ( Edo state) and settled in zaria . He is fully accepted in the north as a Nigerian and a northerner but his genes are still southern.Where in Edo state did Sambo's parents come from, when did they come to Zaria, and why did they give their son two Hausa names? Also which ethnic group in Edo state are his parents from? Because you know being a Nupe or possibly even a Hausa in northern Edo state is quite a different thing from belonging to a southern ethnic group and definitely does not mean that one has "southern genes". A while back people tried to claim Sambo was Igbo |
patriot2: I think you do not know what he is talking about.I think it's you that doesn't know what he's talking about. |
ayanle456: the only thing saving africa is somalia/ethiopia. were it not for us being on the continent. what would be left would be wide nosed, short, nappy headed, masculary over developed africans who have an inferiority complex to whites for enslaving them. When people mention great African states of the past Somalia and its sultanates/kingdoms are almost never mentioned. You and I both know that this is the truth. And it's only from a Somali that one will hear that a country in a state of unending anarchy even worse than Nigeria's, with people roaming around as refugees and suffering from famine is somehow saving the image of Africa. |
ayanle456: actually we beat ethiopia in 77 war. they ran to russians for help. we owned ethiopia. we use to make them eat raw meat. anyway dont make me mad. i get very racist when am madYeah yeah yeah ![]() Excuses, excuses Where is Ogaden now? Ethiopia or Somalia? Get your house in order before flexing and grandstanding. You know and I know that Ethiopia's current military capabilities are well beyond Somalia's. |
"Let Ethiopia fight Somalia by itself" Lmao ![]() You can't be serious. They'll just own that country and drag their balls all over it like they did in 1978. Wait till your country achieves some semblance of normalcy before acting like you can fight others. |
Isaactop9: thank God Benin city wasn't included. You have no relatives in other major cities in Nigeria? And even if you don't, are you honestly saying that you don't care about the possible loss of innocent life anywhere else in the country as long as you're safe? Smh -1 |
kingoflag: Nah, actually its me and your mother plotting a coup on your father's bed .This is one of the better single sentence comebacks I've read anywhere. +1 |
Baby Face: The result of Federal Govt for the 2006 census was 9,013,534 and that of Lagos State was 17,552,942, how come the difference?Damn. |
This forum is quickly turning to sh1t. All sorts of animals are running wild and voicing their dumb thoughts and the situation is being mishandled. |
Sambo is a complete dunce. Even a blind man could see that at the tortoise like pace Yar'Adua was going even at the beginning before he became extremely ill, he would have achieved very little in 8 years, whether in electricity or any other area. Even the few steps taken by the GEJ administration so far show more seriousness about tackling the electricity problem than his predecessor's administration. |
OAM4J: ^ I dont moderate crime section, but I went through the thread.Well it also banned the post there that started "@Odenigbo Aroli, I never excluded the possibility that . . .", which was not a response to an offensive post, did not quote anyone, and was not any more off topic than any of my other posts in that thread that were not hidden. All of my posts in that thread were about the threadstarter's fraudulence and I didn't see why any of the parts of my string of criticisms would be banned. Hopefully the mod that does oversee the crime section will explain his or herself or unhide the posts. |
PhysicsQED: https://www.nairaland.com/938643/ndlea-intercepts-martin-ikechukwu-90m/6Some fool (probably that lying piece of sh1t amosy007) probably reported my posts in that thread and some mod actually complied blindly. And now those posts that have no justifiable reason to be hidden are hidden. What pisses me off here is the principle - the idea that any filthy creature that crawled out of a gutter somewhere and managed to find this forum can report posts and a mod will just blindly do their bidding. |
https://www.nairaland.com/938643/ndlea-intercepts-martin-ikechukwu-90m/6 ^^^ Any of my posts in this thread that were hidden should be made to reappear. There is no reason for even a single one of them to be hidden, and yet a few actually are. |
Don't know why any of my posts against that amosy007 fraud were hidden. Whoever cleared the thread did a lazy job. ![]() |
amosy007: whatever!!Call yourself whatever it is that you are and don't pretend to be what you're not. It's aggravating reading the crap that you post - not just the ethnic crap but the other crap that you try to pass off as genuine. I'm done with you, so once again continue the charade if you feel you must. |
@amos007 1. No I am not Ghanaian and I couldn't care less whether you have anything against anybody. That's not the point. 2. Only a completely delusional individual would think most of the ethnic 'war' on nairaland was ignited by Ghanaians. 3. Wtf is '80% Yoruba' and 'I see myself as one '?! This is the kind of stuff that made me comment in the first place. If you think you're Yoruba go ahead and call yourself that openly and desist from appending other identities to that. The way you're carrying on so far is annoying, so just stick to claiming what you think you are. |
amosy007: hey dude... Have never in anytime hide my identity and i dnt see any reason why i should.. And like i said i dnt have problem with any tribe... If am always against igbo it's based on personal experiences and sentiment... And it doesnt mean i dnt see everybody as one nigerian...i defend every nigerians anywhere ... But if u feel am hidin my identity ...well i dnt care... I dnt have to prove anything ... Just take it or leave it... I am who i amWho mentioned anything about Igbos? Whatever your rationalization is for why you're against whatever groups you're against (Igbos, Ghanaians), it's irrelevant because that's not even what motivated my comment. I went through your post history and I just don't believe that you're who you say you are and I don't think you're accurately representing your background. That's all I'm going to say to you, so go ahead and continue the charade if you feel you must. |
T9ksy: Yeah right! The same "simple & humble" later sent his 10 yr old son to complete his primary school T9ksy: @ bolded, oh yeah? So we should be glad then that TB only sent his son to finish primary education at a private school in london at our expense. You thought processing is definately amazing!T9sky, this is the second time I've seen you make this claim/insinuation that Balewa was looting the country by sending his son to a private school in the UK. I took the time to look into it and there is not a single shred of validity to this claim. Balewa may have been somewhat naive, may have been used by the Sardauna (The Sardauna referred to Balewa as one of his "boys", which Balewa countered by saying that he brought the Sardauna into politics, which may be true), and obviously supported the wrong side in the Akintola-Awolowo dispute, but we don't have to start blaming him for things which never he did. In reality, he had several children (19), of which only two ever ended up going to school in the UK, although the other children went to school (in Nigeria) and went on to various careers. He first sent one of his sons to Epsom College, a public (not private) school in the UK, in 1965, one year before he was killed. There's no question that he could afford to pay the costs of that school on the prime minister's salary, especially when the Nigerian pound would have had value, so there is no issue or question about looting or theft that's relevant there. To possibly put things in perspective on why Balewa would send his (favorite?) sons to the UK, consider what Ken Wiwa (Ken Saro-Wiwa's son) wrote in his interesting article "Shaping a son of Africa": My father never lost faith in me despite all the evidence that I was never going to fulfill my academic potential. He had high, high hopes for me - that I would attend Eton or Harrow, then go on to Oxford or Cambridge to study law. I would then return to Nigeria and sign up to his lifelong ambition to bring the plight of our people to national and international attention. That was his plan for my life when he decided to send me, aged ten, to Stancliffe Hall prep school in England in 1978.http://www.timeshighereducation.co.uk/story.asp?storycode=151668 You can get some idea of Balewa's personal feelings on financial corruption from this little mention of him here: http://books.google.com/books?id=ITr8LeWdcdoC&pg=PA215 For more on Balewa, see Trevor Clark's biography of him. I haven't read the whole thing (it's 888 pages!) and I probably never will, but I read enough to specifically try and find out about this claim about him sending his son to a private school. The costs of his two sons' education at Epsom College were later covered by the Gowon administration. Balewa made mistakes, but he didn't steal. Just thought I should clear this up. Peace. |
I'm not gonna lie, this is kind of hilarious. |
Congrats to Professor Adesida. Another addition to a great list of accomplishments. |
