What's with the airbag light? Is there a "if you you know, you know" I'm missing

Verdict. My bushing was well replaced and I share this just in case you happen to be in need of such services on display. However, since I did not use the other services I can't confirm how good they are.

Kingreign or any other of the Abuja Tech's do you know this place? Have you used?

While I was there, a cylinder head was brought in for resurfacing. The mechanic that brought it said the car had an overheating event and now leaks oil from the top. I too a pic.

Now the shop... This guy (not oga kpatakpata) really wanted to be in the picture, so I obliged him

They sha used Kazeem method to hit out one of the bushings. I was asked for the press to do everything. The man's reason was simple; it will take more finesse and time to take out that particular bushing with the press.

They took out the other bushing with the press and pressed in my replacements in no time

Faithful day came, took out the control arm again and made a dash for Gudu. And here I was... Abdul Tech Works

However when it came to the left side it was a different ball game o. It was just too tough to get the old bushing out!
I tried using a 3ft cheater pipe for additional leverage with the press tool but no way! I guess what would have made it work was a high torque impact wrench.

Long story short, it was late in the day, I put back the control arm like that in the vehicle and planned to take it on another day to this place I had seen in Gudu. I had seen a heavy-duty press there (not sure of how many tons it could put out, but it was quite a big equipment).

I got to use these guys to replace a bushings on my front lower control arm.

Quality control, quality control, quality control. That's the missing link. The reason for checklists is because we are all human and can forget. Maybe this mecho was managing the moi moi he had since morning and couldn't concentrate by evening.
The last time I visited a mechanic (this was some 5 years ago) a major bolt on my suspension was left out! I only discovered when I got home and was inspecting something else. I didn't blame the mechanic much because the guy had been working since morning and hunger was probably harassing him seriously.
It always pays to inspect your work, recount the steps before final assembly. This is where a checklist proves useful.

A simple diagnosis with manifold gauges should pinpoint the culprit. If compressor failure I will expect a normal low-side reading and a low high-side reading. Both sides will read about the same. Heck it might as well be a low initial charge. Just run away from any AC person that doesn't use manifold gauges; both gauges and the 3 lines for the diagnosis/recharge/repair process.
My thoughts...

BTW if in Abuja and in need of Brake Cleaner, find your way to Game (Jabi). Saw this today. Good price.

Also gave me a tour of the shop.

We talked cars (including how I thought Nissan was evil by securing the cabin air cleaner element cover with a difficult-to-access bolt on the 2005 Nissan Titan ), AC work and all. I got a lecture on that steering part I referred to above.
We discussed career as well. But most important discussion for me was the tools...

I was impressed by his attention to detail. Had an eye on what the boys were doing on the other vehicles. There are some things I may not be able to highlight here, but I saw this as quality control which many businesses lack. I remember how one Kia dealership duped me and in the end blamed it on one techie who was swapping genuine parts for cheap Chinese knockoffs. Don't know whether it was Kia or the acclaimed Techie. Fact is I was shortchanged at a Kia dealership.

Truth is I gave Oga very short notice. I had forgotten I was Lagos bound and actually called him on my way to the airport! Graciously, he obliged my request. Game on!

Got to the workshop at about 2pm and met the man. All work bays were occupied with some vehicles outside. Gazz was fixing one part that I had never seen; just under the steering wheel airbag. Abeg Gazzuzz what's the name again?

I think you need to define the "hustle" in London. If it's going genuinely with "papers" to try to find a new life (and this aligns with your spirit and future career plans) fine and good. On the other hand, if it's the whole illegal immigrant thing, I would recommend you remain in Nigeria and grow your career. Earning good money in Nigeria is very possible and many do. Invest in yourself, career development and all and you will get there.
