Yes I called it crap (in the Nigerian context) cos without the right fundamentals, a school is a just a piece of real estate instead of being a facility where people are built to better the future.

Look, one of the biggest problem we have in this country is "sincerity of purpose". How many schools built in this country was built to truly build and prepare people for the advancement of our future? What is the difference between the first set of tertiary institutions in Nigeria and the modern ones. Why do we have the chinua achibes (did u read his book, There was a country? Did you read the descriptions of the schools back then), the wole Soyinkas and the likes emanate from those schools and can hardly find a new age graduate with half a brain?

What we have today are just pieces of real estates called school and make-believe/for-the-camera borehole projects instead of a true source of life which the water projects are suppose to be for. So my statement wasn't a mistake, it is what it is, fact.

Look I'm very busy with work right now but to give a quick response to your question. There so many benefits that comes with the throne of the Ooni, one of them has been mentioned by the poster below. Another 2 quick (self explanatory) ones are;

1. Leadership
Consider the 4 major political regions in Nigeria ( The North, SW, SE, SS) and see how important leadership is. See why the north always win despite the fact that there are regions called the NE, NW and NC.

2. Sense of Identity. Loose it and loose everything you stand and hope for. There are Yorubas in Benin Republic and southern America, how do you think they'd feel knowing the leader of their origin? Because they do not live here doesn't make them less of Yoruba people.

I know you expected that I'd mention things like building schools and borehole and other crap you people refer to as development but without these above fundamental things, any supposed development is nonsense.

Well I think we need to ask how we got here in the first place. Govt deposited money with the banks for free, then banks borrow the same govt their own money @ 13-17% through bonds and T-bills.

I honestly do not have a minute of sympathy for her because I see worse cases on TV like every other day begging for FUNDs to get treatment (on a bright side, she doesn't have to beg for money). 1-2 million naira in most case. How many N2m would she have paid off for people if she had decided to use the stolen money for good cause? How children and adults' life would she have saved. A lot to say but she just doesn't worth the time.

From the pedigree of persons we have been having in that position. I think this is a drop in standard.

If you know anything about the Ministry of Finance, you should know that whoever is to occupy the position must have an Economics background. Adeosun has that, while Ikechukwu is with a medical background. Ikechukwu will no doubt perform better in his present position. I would have protested if he wasnt given the position he was given cos he's a master in that field.

A) Have you seen Etisalat lay any fiber optic in Nigeria? This should tell you that data they sell is bought from other telecom operators. Airtel just laid theirs last 3months. Its been Glo(done by main One cable) and MTN only since inception of data services.

B) Ask Glo workers any mast that spoils remains so until Adenuga signs the mail to work on it. Also do you know that masts are not owned by telecom owners again but Ericsson and co, thats why 3 telecom coys can mount a satelite on one mast.

C) The laptops used for SIM reg, who owns them? NCC of course seeing they used agents in 2010 when SIM was done for the first time and telecom operators used their offices

Yes Nigerians will never question such because there is a freedom of choice. There is enough competition in the auto market. The story of DSTV and Shoprite is a story of 'what you sow you reap'. You have in the past used the gov't of the land to shut out all competition, now a new sheriff is in town and this same gov't is putting measure to liberate her market and the same people being liberated are the ones crying wolf because they know nothing about what is going on.

We all need to understand the Nigerian market before we speak ill of the country. No, the country is not the best in the world, neither is her market the best but, the country is more valuable than we all think.
