Why will people continue to peddle lies recklessly with no fear of reproach from the authorities. Weren't you online when they said Ngige collapsed in Nigeria, while he was in a summit in south africa?

This bill is simply saying be ready to take responsibility for any news or accusation you peddle online, which in essence isn't a bad thing. At least it will bring back the fun and sanity to our cyberspace.

I get your point, honestly. . The way bloggers peddle lies and abuse leaders without respect is so outrageous. ..

But then, I don't really support the bill... still want to be enjoying PDP vs APC drama on nairaland

He doesn't want to work fulltime under anyone otherwise, it won't take me more than 2weeks to find him a job. I was the one who helped him get a job during his NYSC.
Someone asked him yesterday to submit a proposal for something. I gave him ideas on how it should be. Till now as i'm typing this, he hasnt started writing the proposal and the deadline is tomorrow. I'll still be the one to remind him to write it before he'll make the move.
I was thinking of telling someone who can talk to him, but i don't know if telling a third party about our marital issues is a good idea or not.

He needs some form of motivation. .he needs to sit up!! Even when an opportunity is right before him, he's still so lazy!
Don't know what to suggest really; what do you think will spur him to action?
Motivational books/videos?
Maybe you show him the baby list and things needed to be bought?
Tell him the possibility of your landlord asking you out of the house? And how shameful it would be?
Maybe tomorrow, pretend no money for food or water? Let me see what he'll do?

About third parties, I don't really advice that expect the situation is getting out of hand..Instead of one dying in silence. ..The third party shouldn't go beyond parents!

Is there any way you can help him? Like assisting him actualize his projects? You can also help him submit CVs to companies and individuals.... what about raising a lil money to start a small business?
Even bringing someone he respects to talk to him?
He may also be lacking motivation due to 'failures' in his projects; try to encourage him more...

Then, why did he refuse to do any other thing despite his projects not working? What were his reasons? Hope he knows your bank account is red?

Please, don't start disrespecting or nagging him because of this, it will do more harm... I think it's the kinda person he's(not a good one though) and you allowed that all through the relationship until it started choking you..
You just have to be patient till he changes. .

this is quite realistic. Well in my culture that amount would be bride price alone, but its paid over the course of the marriage and if the husband misbehaves the family can gladly their child back

My husband budgeted 1.5m for everything. . Introduction, bride price , traditional marriage, wedding and court certificate! Everything! ! And we didn't go beyond that....

It's best you have a budget according to your capacity and stick to it!!!

Ma dad bought a land in Awka last year for 7mill. Now land is going for 13mil in the same location and 17 mill in some other strategic locations

I know of supply and demand but you can't ask igbos to return home and when they start to do, we begin to hike prices

Sorry bruv I didn't mean to sound rash and my intention is to have a discourse and not attack you personally.

To answer your question I'd personally leave my current place of work to a place that will even pay me 50% less. Yeah u heard me right. That's to help you imagine that what I earn already isn't that bad. That Nlng will give a double of my current earnings is just to me an icing on the cake.
When I signed my offer letter where I'm currently I felt like I was going to be very comfy and happy here cos they offered over 5times what I was earning before. Alas 3years down the line I realized that I was not getting any career fulfillment. I needed a fresh start with a diff company. That was what drove me far in this exercise. I know of a colleague from my current company who applied with me for this GT recruitment but he didn't get beyond the shl stage. This guy was the best graduating student of his set in one of the top universities in the country but yet he didn't get past the shl. I know personally that he didn't make it because he his career was going the way he expected. When he got the regret mail he happily moved on. Whether he enters NLNG or not that guy is already made. Infact with better investment decisions he will be richer than any Nlng employee that squanders his finances. Even if he is not richer he will be financially bouyant and can hold his own even around Nlng big boys. So you see that when you have something better than money driving you definitely you will be more dogged in your pursuit.

When I said as long as they need to I simply mean this. Even you that feel like you so value this Nlng will jump ship if a better offer comes your way. If tomorrow you wake up and find the head HR Saudi Aramco chyking you on LinkedIn with a bloody offer to resume next week I'm sure your next post here will be a bid farewell. Same goes for each and everyone of us. We r doomed to wait for NLNG because none of us have got a better alternative but that's not to say that such opportunities may not come.

My point is we all have our stories which if possible someday we can decide to share here but until you know a persons story you can't tell what his driving force is.

Want to ask you something. . You said you can move to a company that pays you 50% of what you currently earn.. not just by saying it, sincerely tell us how many times you've applied and followed up with such companies?

Then, what makes a 'good ' company and what do you classify as a 'better' alternative? How do know nlng is a better company when you haven't tasted the waters? If nlng doesn't have money and consequently unpopular, would you still classify them as a good company? What convinces you that you would hv career fulfillment there even though you haven't worked with them? How did you know they would be better than your current place of work, therefore tendering your application?
Also, why did you classify going to Saudi as an alternative to nlng? Why not some other smaller companies? Or such companies don't offer career fulfillment?
Why do openings in 'big companies' attract bigger population and competition? Na only them dey give 'job satisfaction' abi?

Everyone wants something big and better because they offer better packages and exposures . . Smaller companies can't do that because of finance. ...

Despite everything nlng has been doing as regards graduate recruitment, everyone has been so clingy. .. . They say it's not about the money, then about what? Or is it only nlng that can give job satisfaction in Nigeria, career growth, experience, chance to impact the world ...etcc?
Everyone desires better reward for work done/input made!

Even nlng is in business to make profit/money and they're so popular today because they make so much money!
As an employee, if you can't impact positively on their revenue, you're as good as gone!
Many influential people we know today is because of how much they're worth..
Can you even impact the world without finance?

One thing is: offer quality services to the public while making your money, that's all...
And it's best that what you do to make money be what you love so that it doesn't come off as stress!

I see your view as a point but not in my case, she gets all she wants, I love giving even with the last penny on me because I'm always blessed in return. you need to know that she comes first likewise my daughter and helping others who need a help is a task for every human who has little or more to share. The truth is she has been getting everything and she just visited her brother recently and its becoming often to the extent that he sometimes just call and order she visits him and she might be gone for long that's when our child is on break. Sometime u need to curb something as a man of the house before it gets out of hand, her brother is married as well and there has never been a moment her wife visits us. Family family things can destroy a home that's another topic to talk about . I met home who was telling me how is mum got broken due to family ordering his wife to come over each time there is a party or someone gives birth and she will be gone for long, it's wrong and there should be limits too. But I wish My pocket is large at the moment, we were suppose to go for the wedding

LMP is more accurate (I think) if you know your LMP.But if you don't know your LMP, your first scan is more accurate than the subsequent scans.

Have you tried long walks? My friend 'forced' her baby out with a long walk.. She trekked for about 3hrs in the company of her husband. .she fell into labour that night... Like you, she was about 40weeks and no show...

Make sure you're fit before trying it shaa...

Which is even more accurate? LMP or first scan? Because my first scan shifted my edd further by 6days against LMP..
