we don't want buhari out cos he had anything with the herders rather he's wanted out of that position cos he did little or nothing at the height of the escalated crises resulting in the death of thousands,he even asked that nigerians pray concerning the crises when it's his duty to bring order to things, that's called incompetence

can someone tell mr president he's simply scratching the surface so far in the area of agriculture he's wont to quote as one of his visible achievements.

Whatever gain we are witnessing in that sector didn't start with his administration, what is actually expected from him is to take things to the next level from where he met it which is actually in the area of value chain. You can't increase output of agricultural produce without thinking of what to do with the excess that will come therefore, that's the crux of the matter here.

Besides, achieving self sufficiency in one of the major staples doesn't automatically mean hunger and poverty has been reduced, more needs to be done and we are more interested in how that's gonna be achieved in the short and long terms.

This threat is needless, the organisers are well in their rights to determine which parties they want to invite for their debate as well as the criteria for making such choices. Mr Sowore should organise his and invite whoever he likes;all these mushroom candidates of little known parties feeling self important and having a needless sense of entitlement.

Politics / Re: Fashola: It Is Not FG’s Problem If Nigerians Lack Electricity by princejenks(m): 3:55pm On Dec 13, 2018
ProAnti:
Fashola is being clever by half, if he truly said this.
The government is still the biggest player in the power sector therefore it can be blamed for the inefficiencies and poor performance.
Government owns 10 power generation plants via NDPHC. In addition it has 100% control in the transmission segment and has about 40% stake in all the distribution companies. Government owns the only bulk electricity trader and off course is in absolute control over NERC, the sector regulator.

These kinds of statements, if truly made by the minister, portrays him in bad light as it reveals a shallow understanding of the sector.
well said

seriously, fashola talks carelessly these days,he doesn't think through things before talking. In his haste to absolve himself and his ministry,he forgot that government still controls transmission whose infrastructure is very dilapidated leading to a differntial between the power generated and that which is eventually distributed,of course he's won't to quote the former which is higher to give a false sense of progress in the sector in this dispensation compared with the previous. Besides,if the gencos aren't performing to expectations, then what stops their licenses from being revoked by this administration, after all, aint their contracts time bound?

I've no issues with this administration trying to stem the tide of corruption cos trying to stop it is a wild goose chase that ends no where but I've serious issues with the president painting himself as the only saint in the country and turning a blind eye or keeping mum each time cases of corruption involves his party members, close family members or associates. That to me is pure hypocrisy and living in an imaginary world like the ostrich burying its head in the ground,we can't achieve much fighting corruption this way, there should be no sacred cows
Politics / Re: FIRS Generates N5trn, Targets N5.3trn By Year-end by princejenks(m): 10:38am On Dec 13, 2018
it's good these figures are being bandied about considering the season we are in but this administration should understand that having given such robust figures from earnings gotten from firs alone,it means if other monies from other sources are added, then this government has no reason not to be able to meet its past and future commitments to such bodies as labour congress, ASUU,asup and petroleum marketers. You can't paint a robust picture of earnings yet claim to be cash strapped to keep commitments. Also, another look has to be taken into our rising debt profile cos there are other ways to improve infrastructure at low costs than the astronomical one being incurred for future generations yet the present one can't see the projects cos according to Lie Mohammed, there are too big to be seen

sureheaven:
Those pushing for the signing of the bill are only looking for excuses for their future failure .

How do you expect the president to sign the bill when election is less than 3months. What will happen to all the plans that INEC has made.

Beaides, why is the opposition party trying to amend the bill at this piunt.
if he were that bothered about timing and all,he'd have signed the bill into law much earlier cos I understand it's the 3rd time he's withholding assent to the amended electoral bill

Politics / Re: Why Does PMB Address Burning Issues Outside Shore Of Nigeria? by princejenks(m): 10:55am On Dec 03, 2018
it's pretty hypocritical of anyone out of blind support for this president to justify the president's snubbing of the local press for international press interviews where he often embarrasses the nation with his ill thought answers to questions asked of him which are often excused as frank responses to raging issues in the polity.

It's clear the president's leadership through use of body language failed a long time ago and his over reliance on aides to address issues locally where a direct response from him by way of granting press interviews to local press in certain instances could've help quelled any controversies that could arrive thereafter but instead he keeps quiet and allow things fester with the hope they'll go away or fizzle out naturally.

In saner climes where elections are determined by many other factors besides performance, president buhari wouldn't have any moral justification to seek reelection cos he has failed even by using his own standards based on the 3 core agenda of his administration. He has shown lack of leadership in many areas that can't be ignored by any electorate seeking quality leadership but of course, the president knows he can always bank on his horde of illiterate massive followership in the north alongside underage voters to deliver him victory come what may but I've a hunch he won't have it as easy as he's thinking cos there's much hunger in the land than he met it in 2015,even his ardent followers and supporters know this, the reason for the subtle vote buying going on to assuage failed expectations

which word? He had issue with the process that produced durotoye as pact candidate, what's wrong with challenging a process you're not comfortable with? Besides,I was making comparison based on my analysis of the two candidates' knowledge of the issues on ground and preparedness to proffer solutions, moghalu cuts it for me cos he has a wider knowledge of the issues and solutions too, that's it
