i dont think 200k is a lot of money in Nigeria tbh

I earned over 300k in Naija but still u can't really save because apart from the taxes paid, u have to sort almost every other amenity your self, e.g. buying fuel for gen and still paying PHCN bill at the same time.. meanwhile here u pay for what u use.. etc..

In Naija, u're also one ailment away from poverty .. etc..

LuvlyIva:
Thank you for your response but, our money is not the same. 200k in Nigeria is lot of Money. So how much can I be earning in the UK. And what is the minimum salary for one that doesn't have a certificate. What kind of job can I do as I come in UK. Thank you
TravelRe: Living In The Uk/life As A UK Immigrant by profemebee(m): 7:19pm On May 16, 2020
yes please .. that's why i want to first have my name on the Tenancy agreement and then Council Tax bill

This will help me get 2 documents with our names on it, i.e. Tenancy agreement & Council Tax bill for spousal visa extension (Proof that we have been living together)

I do hope the council tax authorities can send a revised bill since covering from the period i moved in at least.. or at least this year..

LagosismyHome:
What she is talking about is a discount you get if it is said that only one adult lives in the property. I think its 25 percent discount for single person

However if your wife and sister was on the bill then chances are the property was not on a single person discount so not applicable anyway. If you are doing spouse Visa extension then its essential you have evidence that you live together and a bill together is an evidence

I need the council flat to have my name cos i want to use it as one of the Utility bills documents to apply for uk spousal visa extension as it will have both our names..

Thought it is better to show docs with both names on it..

pls correct me if need be oo

Your council tax will become more expensive though with more than 1 adults or you need the council tax bill for a specific reason

I have to get my name on the Tenancy Agreement first tho

If your wife name is on there then I dont think they ask for any proof self. Just call them and say you want to add someone else ... the spouse of someone on the bill.. and then before you end the call ask them to mail a revised bill

perfectttt..

this looks like a good way of doing it..

i just hope it works

the landlord said i need to get Right to rent from estate agent and i'm wondering why this wasn't done since i moved..

the thing is .. the landlords' changed in december 2019 after i moved.. so this is a new landlord..

N.B. I'm not yet on Tenancy Agreement.. i'm trying to get that done once i get Right to Rent done.

LagosismyHome:
Are you on the tenancy agreement...council Tax can be amended at any time and same with any bill..... You call council at any point , amend it and tell them to send in the post to you a revised bill that shows the additional name
TravelRe: Living In The Uk/life As A UK Immigrant by profemebee(m): 7:38pm On May 14, 2020
Nope.. i send to wifey and she pays via her bank account..

Its still wifey and wifey's sisters names that are on the council flat bill ..

thats what i want to rectify now..

Lexusgs430:
Do you personally presently pay council tax?

bro/sis .. plese i need like small lecture on some things here lol

Spinardo:
Hello Good People,

Been some time. Time does fly past when you are having fun..... Lol. So that mystery member always on the sidelines watching events is here again and with some good news of course!

I applied and got my FLR (M) approved. Thanks to God and everyone on this forum that took time to share their experience and answer inquiries.

Completed the online form within the 1st 3 days of February and attended the Biometric session on 15th February.

Paid for super priority to get an outcome quickly and also waited till my initial FLR was almost expired to ensure that my new period will be inside of 5years and not less (upon expiry wrt ILR).

I got an email on Monday stating that my application was successful and an appreciation for using super priority....lol

List of documents submitted are outlined below:

Proof of Identity / Travel History
British Residence Permit for Applicant
Applicants' International passport (original) - Old and New
Spouse passport (Original)
Child's Birth Cert and Passport (Originals)

Proof of Application
Relationship Declaration
Consent for Applicant
Marriage certificate (Original)

Proof of Cohabitation
Tenancy Agreement
Sky/Virgin Correspondence
GP Letters
HMRC Correspondence
Utility bills
Bank Correspondence
* All of these were about 25 documents (the more the merrier)*

Finances
Letter from employer
Payslips for 6 months prior
Bank statements for 6 months prior highlighting salary payments for the previous 6 months
P60 for relevant period
Signed Contract of Employment

Educational/Proof of English language
English language test certificate A2

Other
Printout IHS payment
Printout IHS reference number
Printout UK visa application payment
Printout appointment confirmation

As I paid for scanning there, it was quite calm. Just kept passing the documents across and they got scanned as due. All of the documents were returned to me immediately and the personnel was courteous/pleasant irrespective of the number of documents (i think she may have seen worse...lol).

Paid quite a sum though but it was generally worth it as I feel I received value for money. Aside the IHS, Application Fee and Super priority payments, I also paid for scanning and for the appointment date/time

I am available for any questions that may aid others in the process of seeking their extension as I did some good reading on the side also.

Again, Thanks to God and y'all. We move to the next!

On another note, we should plan to hook up o as we have been catching up on this platform and it will be nice to put a face to these pseudonyms. I'd not be surprised if some of us have worked at the same establishments/project over time....Lol

Hello Spinardo..

thanks for taking out time to explain all these..

i have been away from here so thats why i'm just replying..

i do need more info though especially understanding the re-application period for me..

1. My spousal visa expires June 2022.. so when is the best time to apply? April 2022? May 2022?

Pardon my many questions smiley ..

2. Naric UK.. do u mean u re-applied all over again with ur uni sending ur transcript and Medium Use of english or u just re-ordered?

3. Whats A2 Exams for? i used the normal NARIC UK certification with CEFR Level C1 and all.. after submitting the necessary naija uni docs..

4. i Have now stayed 8 months here but not had my name on council tax with my wife.. just her name with her sis is on it..i'm working on getting that done this month...

Also just contacted Thames Water to include my name on the bill too.. i thought i had time to get all these done.. i went back to Lagos for about 2months and NI Nos application in Jan 2020, Job search got me distracted..

Hope i'm not too late as i want to start gathering my docs by first getting my names on respective bills with my wife

5. Is there a clear UK Gov link for UK Spousal Visa application likes its clearly stated for the initial UK Spousal visa application?

6. Since i hadn't yet gotten a verified proof of address due to no name on council tax.. i haven't been able to open a traditional bank account.. been using Monzo .. can i use Monzo for bank statement for spousal visa extension?

7. Pls how do i manage to get my name on bills like Council Tax that comes 1ce in a year (March)... even when i get my name on council tax.. there will be no bill to show my name for 2020 cos it already came in March 2020 for the period March 2020 - February 2021?

I'm in the process of opening a trad bank account though as i have a job now.. but feel i need to show that i have been n the UK for the time being i had Monzo

Look forward to replies from everyone

Spinardo:
Hi Profemebee

Sorry I am just getting across...

You will need to re-order the NARIC statements. You cannot use the old one.

Not necessarily. However if you are in a role/job where your employer requires it urgently, then you may use the Super Priority. The rule of the thumb however is that as long as you submit your application (best to also attend the Biometrics) before the current visa expires, you are covered. If your employer is fussy, they just need to check your details on the ECS.

Also "not necessarily". If you submit your application early (about a month before your visa expires), you may be lucky to get a free date for your desired/availability. The period of your application also matters. If it is not a busy period (December, June, July, August), then you may be just fine as well and not bother about the hassle of getting a free date.

Though they advise that you submit just the last 2 years but I submitted from my date of entry into the Country. More will NEVER hurt.

Submitted one type (across 4/5 sources) for each Quarter.

For account statements, I submitted just the lats 6 months (note though that I applied as "Employed" Category A).

Hope this helps. Shout out if you require any more info.

Thanks for the robust answers.

I came in with UK naric statements.. do i need to re-order fresh statements or use same statements?

For the last question, I waited till my 33months initial visa was almost out (4 days to expiry) so I can have enough time on the next (30 months). The big picture is to ensure that I am well within 5 years at the point of the ILR (else one risks seeking another extension - paying the entire large sum to just cover possible a few days/month). This said, I put in the application within the 28 day rule also ensuring the documents I submitted were within the 28 day rule as well.

Also, this model of waiting for the 33 months to almost be out is less risky/better if one is applying with Super priority yea? Please confirm..

28days rule to put in application and documents.. as long as one can pay the fee for appointment days.. i think that should be easily sorted..

Please how many years of utilities bills and proof of cohabitation did u use? did u show monthly statements or maybe just 2/3 per year of each statements ?

Pardon my many questions please..

Spinardo:
Hi Profemebee

The Relationship Declaration and Consent for Applicant are ready-made documents you get to print (at the end of your application) from the website. Yourself, Your sponsor and any other 3rd party whose documents you will be relying on for your application will endorse these.

Pay Breakdown

Application - 1,033
IHS Payment - 1,000
Payment for Appointment Date - 159.99 (this will be necessary only if the specific day you wish to submit is full free apptmnts. I submitted on a Saturday and the free portion was full by the time I was to choose mine)
Scanning - 45 (You may wish to scan yourself from home but the website can be funny, so I just paid to have all my documents scanned at the appointment)
A2 Exam - 150

For the last question, I waited till my 33months initial visa was almost out (4 days to expiry) so I can have enough time on the next (30 months). The big picture is to ensure that I am well within 5 years at the point of the ILR (else one risks seeking another extension - paying the entire large sum to just cover possible a few days/month). Hope this helps. Can clarify further if required.

Cheers.

love great positive stories..

please what exactly are "Relationship Declaration & Consent for Applicant" ??

Just a typed document stating you are married to your spouse and a consent from your spouse?

Also, if you can put an amount to how much you spent excluding the super priority (i never reach that level).. how much was it?

Also this statement.. "Paid for super priority to get an outcome quickly and also waited till my initial FLR was almost expired to ensure that my new period will be inside of 5years and not less (upon expiry wrt ILR)."

Hmmm wasn't that risky?

(1) read backwards, it’s in the thread.. almost above your question.

i swear i read ever page of this thread.. i even read every page of the spousal visa thread to the current page 455.. so reading this one was very easy.. I just cant understand the specifics for mine from reading other people's application..

(2) best to wait until you get the visa so as not to submit more than necessary docs Which visa please? . Because you’ll need proof of address of your current place and the previous place. If you want to be added and the owner of the house doesn’t mind, no problem. Otherwise it will just be classed as proof of of address for just 1 person (which isn’t a problem).

I guess so then.. probably 1 person's proof of address while i use my bank statement with same address.. thanks

(3) she doesn’t receive bank letter? That’s very unusual. As for GP, so she goes to the GP without being invited? She must be really healthy. If you don’t have these, just replace with others. Simple.
bank letters? like monthly statement? thats all i know about for us.. will ask about GP n hospital appointments.. smiley @must be really healthy.. we thank God.. and we never get baby too

please can u help with nos 1? please... cry

I spent train rides reading and watching videos to learn.

It’s about selling yourself finish. But please do your humility way. Also if you say cyber security needs programming, that’s fine. I no argue again. It means the one in my office is foolish (unless of course you’re referring to sql, powershell, and I’ve forgotten the other one, as programming).

Hello beautiful people,

Please quick question on behalf of someone..

Can a UK citizen living n working sponsor her husband even though she is on a Fixed term contract that ends March 2020? She is hustling to get another job though but they want to put in the spousal visa application this January 2020..

Is it risky? we all know d sponsor must earn 18,600 which she does.. she earns about 50k but ends March 2020..

Please any quick responses will be appreciated so they dont burn money..

However, for now, please help with these questions:

- My Spousal visa vignette is from Sept 2019 - 20 June 2022 (expiry date for my BRP)... please when can i start to worry about FLR M extension? Please can one help with some specific period because i'm seeing 45days to pick appointment dates when it says u cant apply before 28days or so..

- How does the 28day rule work again? already forgotten it.. The date of payment of application should not be more than 28days after the most recent payslip and financial documents ? Right?

- My wife n i co-habit with her sister for now, and we intend to get our place later this year.. Does this affect our chances for documents like Council tax? Because she and her sister are the names attached to the tax bill.... Should she add me to the council tax bill, meaning 3 people? at least till we get our own place.

- This Bank letter, GP letter, HMRC and NHS letters i keep seeing as documents shown.. please can y'all explain a bit further? because my wife says she doesn't have HMRC nor NHS letter as when she goes to the GP, she isnt given any letters...

Thanks for answering my questions for now.. cheesy

Also, if i apply for my provisional license now with my BRP, nd during this wait time for the license, i get a job.. and then i'm asked to show my BRP.. Will it suffice if i show my employer a photocopy pending when i get my BRP back ?
