ahhhhh nawa..... this is absurd.. i wonder what this will be by 2022 when i'm due for FLR Aphrodite007: Hi @lamakinde
Is it right to be charged 1560 for the IHS of the flr(m) visa?
The same website says that it’s 400 per year. And the flr(m) is for 2.5 (right?), so I expected that I would pay £1000, not this £1560 that I’m seeing. |

Congrats to all who got their extensions and in advance to those already planning for ILR..

hi everyone,
the rules for staying out of the uk during spousal visa.. is it 90days limit or 180days limit in a particular year?
Need to know how to plan my vacations, etc.
Thanks for anticipated confirmation. |

I'm an example.. i have both Starling and Monzo.. and just approve my transactions easily.. lovely banks Bourne007: Common oga Lexus .. But this is so untrue .. I use Monzo for small and/or hefty and never pegged. I have friends who use Starling Bank for business and theirs have never been pegged and even recognised by the govt for BBLS.
Probably the one u dey use na China product so wouldn't be surprised if pegged |

I'm almost a year in the uk and not done anything to build my credit.. thanks for the info ... will check on clearscore and paypal credit.. Endlessgrace: I was in your situation few years ago when i got here. Mortgage was my goal but i needed to build my credit score to achieve that. I registered with ClearScore and they gave me tips on how to grow my score, my first credit building card was pre-approved on ClearScore. With a credit limit of £200 i started my journey. Tips: * register on a free credit score app * apply only for pre-approved credit cards * if you use your card wisely, you could end up not paying interest (that worked for me) * avoid close-spaced hard searches. You already said you are registered on electoral roll so that’s great. It might take up to four months before it reflects on your score though. All the best |

Hello beautiful people, Please what happens in a scenario where the spouse who is a uk citizen (sponsor) is the one applying for the child benefit ?? and not the non-uk citizen? For e.g. i'm Nigerian.... can my wife who is british apply for child benefits for our child? i'm the one who has no access to child support... and not her.. gratefulme40: Leave those money alone ooo. A colleague collected it and when she applied for visa renewal, she was asked for proof that she refunded the money. Leave advisers oooo and face your hustle biko |

Hello all...
How's summer treating y'all?
Please is it a big deal if some of your letters and docs come without ur middle name?
My NHS letter and water bill comes with just my first and last names...no middle names... while some other come with middle name as seen on my passport and BRP..
I do hope this won't be a problem when i want to renew my spousal visa..
Thanks for anticipated responses.. |

just to add... please whats the consequence of one not being able to pay mortgage for maybe 1/2 months maybe cos of financial issues? will the house be immediately reposessed? any rules? justwise: Do you mean Buy to rent?
Share ownership is not bad IF you see a good one..i mean one with a higher ownership share..50% up is good as it helps you staircase easily.
Check how many years left on the leasehold, 99yrs up is good else it has little or no resable value .
Check the service charge and google council tax band of that post code else you will be in for a shock.
Unless expressly permitted by the housing association..you are not allowed to rent out share ownership property until you have 100% ownership but you can resale
Register with Help To Buy first if approved then open lifetime isa as Help To Buy is closed now. |

Ace delivers faster for me. Haven't tried small world yet. |

small world big world... so many providers.. i guess the best way is to just have accounts everywhere but i'm leaning to Ace Money Transfer even though it takes some hours.. i think they batch their send requests thats why .. Azimo and its poor rate but fast processing.. hmmmm The thing is i was trying to just chat up Small World and never got answer... lol RalphJean: If you want sub-20 minutes delivery at Shit rates, Azimo is it.
If you want up to 3-4 hours (sometimes less) at amazing rates, ACE is it.
I use both interchangeably depending on the urgency.
I loved Small World too, sometimes they have some unbelievable, but true rates. However, these days, they are same with ACE.
Choice is yours. |

osheyyy bro.. and the appointment is only booked after paying for the FLR M application which is when the actual 28days starts from Example.. if i'm applying/paying the fee May 31 2022.. my last docs for payslip, bank statement, etc shouldn't be earlier than May 3 2022 to meet up with 28 days rule yh.. while also ensuring May 31 2022 is also within 28days from expiry of BRP.. Bourne007: Yes at bolded. I'm sure you know and have seen it several times but you keep asking lol.
The 45 days in advance is for the old premium service which is now closed. You can always get appointment same day, next day, within a week depending on what you want.
Anymore questions before applying 2022, we go Happy to answer

brother.. God bless you beyond your expectations.. Also i read here that one can only apply within 28 days to the expiry date on the BRP.. Mine is 22nd of June 2022.. means i can put in my application from the 24th of May 2022 yeah?? However, the part of picking an appointment date 45 days earlier got me confused.. please can u explain further? Bourne007: Make hin no stress you baba. We submitted exactly wetin dey the list. damnnn.. no ASDA here.. been buying 50p water from tesco/sainsburys.. dustydee: The tap water is safe to drink but I personally prefer to buy bottled water. the 17p ASDA or Lidl water is good or you could go for SASKIA from Lidl which I think is £1.09 for a pack of 6. |

i hate this process of seeing checklist of documents only at point of uploading and submitting especially for FLR M stage this thing don dey stress me lol Bourne007: Assuming you uploaded and submitted yourself, it would have generated a checklist of documents to submit. The exact same solicitor go use.
It's not really about wasting money. It's just a simple and straightforward application. If to say application get comma, solicitor will def be required.
If you wan do next application, read guidance and this forum with questions. There's immigrationboard as well. I'm sure ppl will be willing to answer your questions/queries.
If you still wan use solicitor, just hire me . |

thanks for this .. i will apply for this asap.. if some bills refuse to add my name .. can i use a bill (SHELL) with her name and address and then provisional drivers license with my name and same address for the same month/period.. e.g June 2020.. Is there any place in UK Gov where these are all stated like the way it was clearly stated for initial spousal visa application? This spousal visa extension process is annoying.. no clarity LagosismyHome: Provisional or full driving licence...provisional wasnt hard to get in those days and it can be used as proof of address |

Please is it wrong to have like 3-4 names on a council tax bill that you want to use for spousal visa extension?
especially for those that don't live exclusively alone.. and need bills to show proof of cohabitation?
my name,.. wifey's name.. her sister and husband's names too.. for the same house..
mind u.. it is within the rules which says we should be not more than 5.0 in a 3 bed room house..
I need more bills to show for spousal visa extension.. and currently have just bank statement and Water bills as proof (i need minimum 3 sources)..
SHELL Energy say they strictly show only one name on its own bills while Virgin Media for internet and cable have no way of helping us get my name.. no phone number to call.. strange |

beautiful answer... cos i wasnt asked to pay anything.. thanks beryour: It is not compulsory to register for the update if you only need it for the first time or just the company you are with. If you will need it for other companies/purposes, then it will be IMPORTANT else you might have to keep re-doing the DBS. Update service prevents that by having your details updated each time and the companies can verify online.
Also, note update is not available for BASIC checks. |

Please can anyone help with my questions? profemebee: Hello Spinardo..
thanks for taking out time to explain all these..
i have been away from here so thats why i'm just replying..
i do need more info though especially understanding the re-application period for me..
1. My spousal visa expires June 2022.. so when is the best time to apply? April 2022? May 2022?
Pardon my many questions ..
2. Naric UK.. do u mean u re-applied all over again with ur uni sending ur transcript and Medium Use of english or u just re-ordered?
3. Whats A2 Exams for? i used the normal NARIC UK certification with CEFR Level C1 and all.. after submitting the necessary naija uni docs..
4. i Have now stayed 8 months here but not had my name on council tax with my wife.. just her name with her sis is on it..i'm working on getting that done this month... Also just contacted Thames Water to include my name on the bill too.. i thought i had time to get all these done.. i went back to Lagos for about 2months and NI Nos application in Jan 2020, Job search got me distracted..
Hope i'm not too late as i want to start gathering my docs by first getting my names on respective bills with my wife
5. Is there a clear UK Gov link for UK Spousal Visa application likes its clearly stated for the initial UK Spousal visa application?
6. Since i hadn't yet gotten a verified proof of address due to no name on council tax.. i haven't been able to open a traditional bank account.. been using Monzo .. can i use Monzo for bank statement for spousal visa extension?
7. Pls how do i manage to get my name on bills like Council Tax that comes 1ce in a year (March)... even when i get my name on council tax.. there will be no bill to show my name for 2020 cos it already came in March 2020 for the period March 2020 - February 2021?
I'm in the process of opening a trad bank account though as i have a job now.. but feel i need to show that i have been n the UK for the time being i had Monzo
Look forward to replies from everyone |
