I need candid advice.
With the current state of EE draws, Is it advisable for someone in the pool to go the study route…or to just exercise patience till whenever?

CRS is 468
If you have the funds, you do not have to wait! Go for the studies. With the studies comes Canadian experience and also note that Study visa is not hard at all, just proper packaging and in few weeks, you are on that flight. I can provide free guidance on the study visa

Disagreements are normal and our perspectives are different thus we may not agree on everything as you noted your 15 years experience is different from my 7-8 months encounters in Canada. It will be a great thing if people learn bits and pieces from each others experiences.
It is very painful to see people dissatisfied when they move to Canada with high expectations and get disappointed. I also faced a lot of disappointment in the GTA housing market and wished I read about people's encounter and prepared myself better. Kept extending my stay at an air bnb till I ended up spending 4 months at an air bnb (CAD12,000 +). Imagine if I had a wife and kids. Met two people who ended up renting a home (one at pickering and another Welland) at a place they didnt desire to live in but had to because they couldn't rent at more desirable areas. Boredom, loneliness and dissatisfied with couple blaming each other. Nobody likes to go down lower than where they are that's why companies retrench workers once the economy is in recession . Nobody likes to go from being a professional worker to a menial worker thus I like to encourage professional workers migrating from Nigeria to Canada to try to utilize all possible avenues to transition to a professional or better roles in Canada instead of accepting that its the norm to start as a menial worker.

On another hand support systems are hard to come by among Nigerians in Canada thus the average nigerian moving to Canada needs to plan as well as possible. Glad I came to canada with enough money to finance my 4 month air bnb stay and deposit 3 months rent as a condo. Otherwise things would have been harder than it was
I think you all make a lot of sense and just to bring a psychological perspective to it, nothing in nature likes to go down, either perceived or real. I am in a similar situation where I have the status to relocate but I have to ensure I have the required soft landing. This might not be everyone’s case.

The average Nigerian trying to relocate abroad cannot afford a soft landing as it is not cheap nor convenient, for most it is an escape. There is no luxury of some staying and some leaving, when you borrow money to do POF what will you use to stay? Also hussle can be frustrating but there are lessons. Many African women are not trained to share living expenses and it is how they have experienced things over the years where men appear to carry the “load”, also African men, Nigerians that I know of specifically are not trained to be transparent in their financial dealings with their spouse, the reasons are obvious, who is this Ada you sent 5k to? We would rather continue to send in secret and sleep tight.

There appear to be a success story in the end for most people so the means to achieve that would vary for everyone. If we attempt to imitate other peoples’ situations without consideration of what makes ours distinct, we would find our families in turmoil and risk our relationships.

In other words, know your way to the market and follow it!

They didn't specifically point to one thing. They sent the generic mail they send if a result is cancelled. We have told them to provide evidence but I think it was because he had 6.5 the first time and had 8 the second time (he wrote the 2nd exam less than a month after the first thus was because of his passport expiring at the time) prolly they think its impossible to have that leap less than a month.
This is not generic, they claim to have reasonable evidence that meant something went down… I think this also comes with a Ban

I know 481 is a cool score but my problem is the occupation demand they are switching to which will commence starting from April, I wish I get an ita before this whole will start.
Still not a worry! The occupation in demand will run along side the normal point based system. So you have nothing to worry about.

Why scared when you should be tidying your travel plans? 481 will get, just a matter of time. Should happen around April to May.

There’s a prediction that the CRS will drop rapidly by the next draw and there might be another draw next Wednesday to compensate for December. #FingersCrossed
Quite likely, the actual draw date based on the calendar is next week also the number of people in the upper band is quite thin so they must return to the sub-90s shortly. If you look at the target of 400k plus people next year and less than 300k in the Express Entry Pool, even if refugees and other channels are increased, the 460s still have a chance this year! No need to cross your fingers, use them to prepare your move.

Hello everyone. My husband is my sponsor, can he apply for a n open work permit?
Yes if he has the funds to show and explain why he needs to accompany her. Most reason will be that he can work remotely or has a career break from work with believable evidence.

Thank you, we have sufficient pictures to go along with it, does my passport need to have my husband name? Especially that I want to do a new fresh one
While this is possible with rich countries, from a country like Nigeria, I’ll advice you do a passport that carries his name or surname as the case may be. I and my spouse had a firsthand experience with US embassy on this and the lady denied us on this ground. So just play safe

About the photos, I will suggest you add more than just wedding photos. Add as many family photos as you can, including any surviving photos of you two together during your dating life and after the wedding. The aim is to convince them that you guys have a long existing relationship beyond the wedding. There have been many reports of IRCC refusing applications and claiming that the wedding pictures do not sufficiently proof the existence of a romantic relationship between the applicant and their sponsor.

These IRCC agents, very eccentric set of people! Those who are out to scam them are doing so freely, whereas the innocent ones end up receiving their bitter whip!
No idea how you came up with such assumptions, you can be honest but if your application is poorly presented, it will end up being refused. For our application we had very few pictures, yet it was approved.

I am here going through the thread and wondering why no one is talking about the NOC system changing to the Teer System.
So my bother and sister in law just entered the pool on Dec 31st 2022. with 453 score, I came to read thread to see if the score is still important since they are moving to in-demand occupation like PNP uses.

Please my Elders, if you have any information on this new Teer system please share with me.

The consultant I contacted to help with their express entry advised that I should hold on with enrolling them to take BCS IT course that the draw will be resumed in April according to what IRCC told them and he believes CRS score will no longer determine ITA but the Occupation.

Has anyone joined the pool of Late?
Lies, absolute lies, IRCC did not tell them anything. All information about IRCC is fully online! There are two reasons IRCC needs people, Economic and Demographic reasons. They cannot pull 400k people by skill sets alone. The point based system will continue to run but the Minister can create groups within those so they can satisfy labour biases. If Canada brings you in to settle, they are not only looking at your skills, they need people to stall their negative population growth, so they have for years just also needed the numbers, even if your skills are valueless, your kids will go to school and satisfy certain needs.

Goodmorning Family, I know this is not the place to ask this, but please Family am in need of Counselling

I am about to switch my Program to Nursing, that is Diploma in Nursing, its a two year course in the same school am attending, but before starting the course you are expected to undertake a 30weeks prehealth course still in the same school before starting the Nursing program

My question is-
Can I apply for a study permit extension because my initial course is meant to be two years?

With the intended Nursing program am I still eligible for a 3years PGWP?

My passport will expire in Mid 2024,can I renew my Passport and also apply for an extension of my Study Permit?

Please Answers need please
Yes you can always change school and program as long as you have completed at least one Semester in your current school and in good standing. You will get permit extension and as long as the school your are switching over to is a DLI, you will get PWGP.

In 2021 while waiting for my application processing to be completed I came to realize that the govt deals with numbers. The EE program started in 2015 and as with any new program the early applicants made it through with consistent bi-weekly draws/less competition which saw 430s get an ITA. Today the express entry program has gone past its early phase and is now very competitive with the government now at will to change the bar at anytime without any communication.
I used the word change the bar because when I was waiting for ITA they made changes that granted additional 50 points to bilingual applicants. This pushed up the scores to 478. Prior to that CECs were granted an edge with the 27,000 ITAs issued in 2021 which even saw a CEC applicant with a score below 100 get an ITA while applicants with 465s remained spectators.
May the hardwork of all intending immigrants via this program come to fruition. The program is now very competitive and if scores remain above 481 then one will need a connection to canada (sibling points, canadian work experience or canadian education) to qualify for EE.
You are not wrong in any way, and the later has already began. Most who are heading there for studies have just one ultimate goal!

Canada just dey use us catch cruise....so no single draw in December just so the point will be maintained at 495+ nice one....when my ielts expires that's the end....I no blame dem.
I don’t think that was the reason, they already know that high scores doesn’t mean they are filling the required skills. The issue was with the glitch that reduced people’s scores. There must be investigations on what led to the glitch and then get it resolved. Overall next year’s immigration target remains ambitious and scores must come lower, targeted or not. Please re-write your IELTS, it is worth the wait and sacrifice.

Hi guys

Please I applied for visiting visa for my parents since 2020 to come for my convocation, but we didn’t hear anything until last week when we got PPR for both of them.
My challenge now is that their passport will expire by June 2023 and all efforts to get new passport now will take up to a month which will exceed the 1 month deadline to submit their passports.
Please what should I do now? Although I’m already negotiating with some people but the quickest date I was given will be after the IRCC validity date to submit the passport.

I’m so confused, please help me
In Kaduna it can be done in two days.
