tegafej: And again I ask you the question.
How will a corrupt government fight corruption?
Right now with the kind of government will have in Nigeria weda PDP or APC, they can't clean up the system.
The only thing they can do is to make the system better while plugging leakages within the economy.
And I will accept your argument of a fragile Nigeria if a barrel of crude oil was selling for less than $60 per barrel.
Nigeria is making way more money than budgeted for right now because the benchmark of crude oil for the present budget or next year is way below the international parity price of crude oil.
So if your argument is that because the system is corrupt, therefore Nigeria can no longer offer profound solutions to lingering issues...
I will totally disagree with that.
The China you made mention of, were good economic policies not enacted as they were aggressively fighting corruption?
Get it straight...
If all the corrupt politicians are jailed and it doesn't translate to improved standard of living for the common man...
The government has woefully failed! Yes I agree with your last point, jailing politicians should not hinder the standard of living of the common man. But this is Nigeria, a country where infrastructural development is removed from the budget and replaced with constituency projects that will only fly straight into individual accounts, and who are the usual culprits? Of course our honorable politicians that believe they are formulating policies. So are you going to ignore acts like this and believe your good policies will see the light of day? It's a vicious cycle when it comes to corruption, take a case study of awarding of contracts to build and revamp our power stations, yes the good intentions where there and the funds were released, but what happened? honestly I won't lie to you I don't know what happened, the only way such project is unaccounted for is because there was massive cover up of misappropriation of funds, what do we call that? That's corruption on a grand scale. I still hold my stand, you won't achieve anything if corruption is not stamped out. GEJ approved a lot of projects but very few were completed even he was not happy. If you bring up an argument that the policies Atiku will formulate will checkmate corruption then I will listen to you, than for you to say you will leave corruption alone and face policies, then we will agree to disagree. |

tegafej: You seem so knowledgeable about fighting corruption I suppose...
In a system like Nigeria do you think you can actually get rid of corruption when those supposedly fighting corruption are corrupt?
Since the government has started fighting corruption, how many persons have been convicted and how has it affected the GDP growth?
It's funny how you see the way out as corruption.
Do a lil research, check literature out and you will even see that there are positivities to corruption if tactically handled.
Do you even know why government was originally set up?
Was it to fight corruption? Nigeria of today is a fragile state, yes corruption has existed right from the time of our colonial masters, but Nigeria can no longer afford it, an average Nigerian won't mind if 10s of Millions starve to death because of their corruption. We can no longer afford corruption because there are no infrastructures to ease the standard of living, the economy that was supposed to feed the corruption is nothing to write home about. And you must let this sink in, you talk about corruption to be part of the equation, in what sense? look at China, can you say this same thing about China? Am sure you want Nigeria to get to that level, the easiest thing to do is copy their road map, and I must tell you our war on corruption is child's play compared to that of the Chinese, look where they are today. Don't let party sentiments rob you of your future. Corruption has no business in any government that is the government of the people. |

tegafej: Good policies will prevent structures and institutions from being used as avenues to steal from the nations wealth.
Take for instance, the PIGB, do you know that signing it into law will prevent a lot of corruption in the oil and gas sector?
How the PIFB......
Good policy is key LOL, don't be naive, in this same Nigeria every month reports are sent to Heads of Department, Auditors send reports, unusual practices are reported, discrepancies are uncovered, yet what do the directors and HODs do? Even the senate that was put in place to check the excesses of the Executive are now a stand alone corruption empire of their own. And what about the Judiciary that is the third arm and an independent part of Government? An arm that was suppose to interpret the law and uphold the law? Those ones only rule in favor of who they like. All these mechanisms (like good policies) were meant for proper governance and to limit corruption, but is that the case today? Your good policies will amount to nothing if you don't check corruption. Pardon me for calling you naive but you underestimate corruption that's why. |

Atiku's has my vote in the coming elections And you think good policies will thrive if you leave corruption alone? How is that possible? |

None of this persons will put food on your table This is not about putting food on your table, a concern citizen stops fake news, hate speeches and propaganda on its tracks. Many Nigerians including medical personnel were afraid of their lives hence they what they think was right and just. Let the presidency come out with fact counter Nnamdi Kanu's allegations that is all Am glad you said allegations, I have read all the links, the condolence messages you guys said was from the Queen and the story of the former British soldier, just like your Kanu non of them come with facts. For the fact that Buhari visited Trump in the White house says alot but am sure you are too hate filled to know what that really means. An impostor will not last there for long. No medical reports, if I were to ask you and you Kanu what was really the sickness of Buhari, non of you will answer, which hospital was he receiving treatment or which Doctor handle the surgery? non of you will answer. Even before Buhari went to London he never saw your Lord and Master Kanu as anything worth his time even when Kanu said was going to go to a so rock and bring back Buhari's head. So don't expect a reply from Buhari. |

marsoden: You can't solve a problem by neglecting and covering up the roots. Do you know that if it is taught in schools with the reconciliation and rebuilding, if the likes of Kanu arises with their gospel of Biafra, most of the "to-be" followers would tell him that they've moved past that stage, that they've forgiven, forgotten and are geared more towards nation building. However, if it's not taught, it's easy to brainwash people, it's easy to instill bitterness, thereby making it easy to create agitations because of the gruesome war stories. Am sorry but I don't see this happening, especially when bigotry, tribalism, and blind hatred is the order of the day, Will the Ibos allow the Northern version of the war told to them? Will the Hausas listen to the Ibo version of the war? If at all we want to tell the history of the war to our future generations, then we must make a nationwide documentation of the war, including that of the international community. But of course not all the regions will accept the part of the story that is not on support of their tribe. The problem here is telling the truth and not to be biased - it's going to be difficult. |

You know this news about Buhari being Jubril that is being spread around by IPOB reminds me of that practical joke that happened when there was Ebola outbreak in Nigeria.
One jobless girl on social media woke up one morning and said if you don't bath with plenty salt you will be infected by the Ebola virus, oh, how the ignorant ones fell for it. Some even died because of that.
Now this one, this one is no different and people will soon put their life on the line for another practical joke.

Kirinwa: The team home lost 4-2 to team away said to be in lower league at their home. But the away team has never played in the Home teams turf. If should look deeper you will see that the away team lost away to a lower division team in their league cup match. Besides you expect the home team to try and win the return leg in their home ground. The away team may lose but may still qualify. Too many things at play here this is not a straight forward match. |
Business › Re: Football (+Other Sports) Betting Season 12 by pryme(m): 9:11am On Nov 18, 2018 |
Kirinwa: Hmm. Its not a glitch. Its just like Monaco. Monaco was the second best in ligue 1 last season but as at now they are struggling not to be relegated.
Monaco's odds at home will be small in reflection of last season rating but don't be surprised that an odd of 7 will defeat them at home. It continues until its corrected in line with recent/current development.
Now in this case the team at home is a division 2 team fighting relegation to play a match against a strong team in division 3 which is at away.
Verdict: This is football and anything is possible. From the look of things. Team at home winning is 25% Draw is 40% Away win is 35%
It looks tempting to play Away win at 5 odds or to be safer X2. That's my verdict. That match is a playoff match, the team home team you see losing are playing in the top division league, even if they are losing they are losing to the top division teams. The away team is playing in the lower league even if they have some impressive wins, those are not against the top division teams. These are things to consider why the home team has the favorites odd. |

Family › Re: My Wife Doesn't Like Sex by pryme(m): 11:09pm On Nov 16, 2018 |
LaDolceVida: The lie Wives typically use indirect forms of communication. They give hints, they speak abstractly, and then they expect their husbands to know what they mean. Without ever intending to lie, they don’t express the full truth. At times, they communicate so indirectly that their husbands can’t come close to perceiving the real message. When faced with indirect communication, husbands often feel like a one-legged man in a football kicking contest. They just don’t have what it takes. They much prefer dealing with facts, logic, and problem solving. They notice that something is wrong. That realization may come from receiving the silent treatment, getting some indirect messages, or just picking up the mood of their wife. They’d like to resolve the problem, so they ask about it, and get messages so indirect that they can’t interpret their meaning. When people get what they see as an incomplete message, they try to fill in the blanks. Husbands, with their strong problem-resolution skills, will often explore various possible meanings. But if the indirect message doesn’t have enough clues to give them an accurate picture, they can’t succeed. Living the truth Neither indirect nor direct communication is intrinsically right or wrong. Rather, each serves a particular purpose. Foundationally, though, wives make a mistake when they choose indirect messages that give a misleading impression, or that fail to accurately convey the intended meaning. Let’s explore several factors that can help you live in the truth and communicate more directly. Create a safe zone . Husband, creating a communication “safe zone” is your job. Yes, you get frustrated and upset at indirect conversation. But some of your irritation results from your own response when your wife tries to communicate with you. You can create a safe zone in several ways: Choose honesty over defending yourself. Don’t respond with an attack on your wife. Don’t even think about verbal or physical abuse. Draw out your wife with active listening. Let your wife know that you truly want to hear what she has to say, and when she sees that you’ve established a safe zone, you should see an increase in the clarity of your communication with one another. I don't mean to sound rude but this is all B.S. Men are not mind readers, I dated a woman that used all this indirect way of sending a message, I told her to her face that her communication sucks. Will you like it if you were on the receiving end of these indirect messages, hints and clues? It's next to begging your woman to talk to you, and why should that be the case. We are adults, if there is a problem, we try to fix it, and how do we fix a problem? First we have to understand the problem, and how do you understand the problem? We talk about it, and if the issue is not trashed properly there is a chance the same problem will reoccur. I don't buy this BS of creating "safe zones", trust me not all men understand what that means, but i believe all mean will understand a clear message of what the issue is. |

I had a female friend then in school who told me that she does not really care about studying and passing, that all she wants to do is to look really good and she is sure a rich man would notice her and get married to her and they would spend the money together.
now my question is, what happens to those that are poor who needs a beautiful woman by their side to become successful with them, or is the saying that "behind every successful man is a woman" now obsolete?

More than 80% percent of men swam through the shiits of life alone while making it to the top. Men are always told to work hard so that they can then settle and start a family, I have never heard where men were told to go look for a woman to swim through the shiits of life together to make it to the top. It begs the question how was the woman behind the man's success? It's things like these that makes me believe some villains in a movie are just misunderstood. Romance › Re: It Is Not A Woman’s Responsibility To Make A Man A Better Human Being (photos). by pryme(m): 1:38pm On Nov 16, 2018 |
luci4: Women don’t want to be caretakers of badly raised, ill-mannered or generally troubled men. Essentially, women don’t want to raise men, we want to grow together.
But who’s going to save women from their issues? Issues like addiction, mental health, family troubles. Why do we not have the same expectation of men to be emotional caretakers of women?
If a man leaves a woman dealing with issues, he is said to have ‘dodged the bullet’ but a woman who endures his financial problems, violence, mental health issues, is praised, or encouraged to stay and help him turn his life around. In this way, female endurance – a woman who stays with her man through his troubled years – is romanticised; she is seen as loyal. And that loyalty seems to be expected of women.
The idea is that she’s proved her worth; she’s not a golddigger, she didn’t just abandon him while he was making something of himself. And rarely is it reciprocated. Men staying with women who are finding themselves is not commonplace. Men staying with women who are ‘troubled’ is a rarity.
Especially when it comes to addiction, women are expected to stay. This can be extremely challenging for a partner.
In doing so, they showed they prescribed to the idea that marriage, like relationships, is a woman’s responsibility to maintain. This is false, they are few good women that stand by their man through the rough times, just go through most of the comments of most female monikers on this forum, you will find they won't waste time in kicking a man that's a burden to them to the curb. The stereotype that men are the source of a woman's predicament is something I don't agree with. |
