Afribank "rumour" is a close at it gets. It's the MD that dropped the hint. I posted the news story a day or two ago.

The important fact is that the bank is in a "position" to give bonus considering the number of outstanding shares. If the price of this stock does not move, how will they compensate those that bought the PO at N25?.

This is a done deal. The price must waka somehow.

SuperGuy:
Pumping, I can see you are on the floor on this rare day when many are relaxing,
thanks and I hope you will respond to my mail too.

-Lasaco seems to be a stock to watch, at least there is no PO in sight, 3q result (879m) being the highest
in that sector and very likely to declare great profit. What is your position on it and what price are we looking at
in the next 1 month.

-What do you think Ikeja hotel price will be by march end, don't know why the stock is not rising despite
very good 3q result (690m) and share o/s just 1.85b, we expect the pe at year end to around 12 which is great,
I see the stock moving to around #12 considering the above statistic; what do you really think?

Thanks and please respond as I intend taking position next week.
Lasaco - Are you so sure there is no PO in the works? Anyway, I don't have anything fantastic to say about any insurance stock right now. Generally, they are all over-priced but by varying degrees. Lasaco has a forward PE of around 37 so I won't consider it cheap. Sentiments is what is driving that sector right now. I think it is good for short term trading though. We won't start seeing their results till around June and I don't see many of them coming up with fantastic results. In the next one month we will see all kind of prices as profit takers keep the price cycling up and down but the trend will likely be upwards.

Ikeja Hotels - Predicting future price na bigboylarry's territory o. I no sabi do dat one grin grin

Ikeja Hotel for me now is a medium term stock. We need to wait for the full year results to come and last year this did not come out till September so it could be a long wait. If you look at the stock historically, it tends to move around the time of announcement of results or a general bull market so don't be surprised if the stock price tend to be stagnant for a while except something tangible happens.

I just did mine this week. You need to get all the info required from your broker. Then go online and complete the online form at this website. http://www.nse-cscstradealert.com/.

It is free.

I got my reply the same day.
Not quite. It depends on what you are talking about.

This is from the FAQ section.
------------------------------------------------
What is the NSE/CSCS Trade Alert?

The NSE/CSCS Trade Alert is an Investor Protection Scheme from the Central Securities Clearing System of the Nigerian Stock Exchange which notifies you every time your stocks are traded on the floor of the Exchange. The share holder automatically gets an SMS message on his or her GSM phone notifying him or her of the transaction before it is completed. This means you can abort the transaction with a simple call if you did not authorise it.

------------------------------------------------
What are the subscription fees?

N3600 for 12 Months
------------------------------------------------
I am a small time shareholder and the subscription fee is too high for me, what can I do when I want to trade my stocks?

For all investors, transaction alert of Trade Alert is free
---------------------------------------------------

I think the portion in bold is what you are really paying for if you are paying the subscription fee. The free service is just for your information.

I say Obama's detractors,as represented by the 3rd audition-panelist in the cartoon,are out-numbered(2 to 1,if you like).

They say Obama doesn't go into specifics in his campaigns.

I say that they who have done their economic specifics all these years, are responsible for the near-depression of the US economy today.

Back to the cartoon.Yeah,Obama hasn't sung yet,but the discerning two panelists are already wowed by the props he has brought with him on stage for this great audition.[/b]By the newness that is anticipated in the great act to come.

They realise that, with the new kind of props he mounts on stage for his anticipated performance,he'll surely change the hitherto status quo

I am looking at entering the Insurance sector.I have in mind Oasis,Linkage Assurance and Guinea. My sole reason is that they are cheap and it appears 6 naira is the resistant price for most of  Insurance companies. So there is still a chance of 20 percent in a week.Am I being over optimistic?

Someone mentioned ABC Transport, what is brewing with it?
Investors that think this way make CICO very profitable in the insurance sector. Insurance stocks are not "cheap", they just have a low nominal price.

Anyway, lets say you can make 15% in a week but only if your timing is close to perfect. For instance if you entered Linkage today you may make 15% by next week. Maybe sha o. You have to study the stocks and pull the trigger near the perfect time.

But watch out for technical suspension for the companies that are doing public offer.

Greed no dey my own dictionary again. I avoid bad decisions even if by chance it means I could have made more money. I need to preserve my profit. Ask people wey still dey try sell their First Bank wether them dey wait make d stock reach N60. As you hold d stock now, na spreadsheet profit you dey count so.

If you no see "mugu" wey go buy Capoil wetin u go come do jare? huh huh Na this once in a while "goof" dey chop the profit.

@ Pumping 777

Is it possible to get Sterling Bank on the floor? I asked one of my brokers for a similar stock and he said that because it was on suspension, he can't not get it: it might be due to the partcular stock though. Can you please confirm?
It is possible but difficult. Not because the stock is on TS but because the stock is also on net bid. Since the price is fixed, those that have the stock don't have the incentive to sell. After TS, the price can rise to stimulate interest in the sellers.

If you are close to your broker ask him honestly if he can get you a cross deal.

No worry. This one na done deal. Unity dey come do PO.  The MD don talk am. No need to guess again.

Dem go fit sell am for N7 per unit? I no think so.  If they do, how many shares them wan issue to get reasonalble capital? 10B? The price must rise jeje. Slowly buy surely.

The only caution na to avoid TS. Shikena.

Sterling Bank go present the same opportunity. Position if you dey interested.

Linkage,

I don enter am today oh. candlestick or matchstick! as long as this level of liquidity persist in the market, the only way i can guide against sudden shift na to have short time in mind. so my CICO na for only 1week.  10 percent profit after cost  deduction is good for me. so na to bail out on thursday if all goes according to plan.I don't need a soothsayer to tell me  stock wey don dey lose for the past week amidst excessive sectoral bullish run must surely turn back.

Nascon-  Una suppose know say Nascon no fit continue like that,  If you dey do CICO. i wonder while u dey expect  50% profit. CICO na strictly for short term in my dictionary. If you claim you dey do CICO for  stock wey u buy 6 months ago, na hyper CICO be that oh. The rule is not to be too greedy unless of course you get better backup like the recently declared bonus and dividend  for DEAP CAPITAL. with that you fit stay with the stock for as long as u want. no problems.

we know  say NSE is sweet but don't take it for granted. your profit can evaporate before your eyes as quickly as you make it. This time, its better you lower your exit threshold . If you dey make 10% each month, you know where you go dey by the end of the year- the level at which u operate notwithstanding.
Correct bobo. I dey like your style. The kind "gates" wey open for insurance yesterday and today na him them dey call oga ju. Na yakata I carry my whole body enter yesterday as I talk.

Na only one I catch sha but I no go complain. Na as I no wan take chances I follow chase the 3 together.

Yesterday na Lawunion.
Today na Linkassure and Prestige. O ga ju.

All na emergency CICO. Good possibility to exit in 1 week. E fit happen even before the stock go clear for CSCS!!

I don talk say no insurance o but wetin I go do when them dey open door like this  shocked shocked I hope say TS  no go punish me sha.

When I sabi candles like aktopgun, he go dey easier for me to catch this trend. For now na manually I dey find these stocks.

@aktopgun - I bin don forget that one wey you teach me that day. Na maribuzo or something sha. These stocks qualify for wetin I call maribuzo sudden-reversal. Catch am on the rebound  grin

Na true talk. 50% CICO na exception and not the rule. I bin don troway greed since.

Mr. Risky:
Don't know which gets better result - INSTINCT or TECHNICAL ANALYSIS.  I sent in a buy order to my broker to get me Deap Capital after mark down, but after reading someone here's opinion, it sounded right that I shouldn't go in yet.  So I cancelled the order immediately.  If I had listened to my instincts, I would be counting my gains right now. That aside, everyone makes this mistake.  The guy's reasoning too was rational. It can happen in a bullish season.

@Pumping777, please tell, how much do you know about this Deap Capital.  My knowledge to me is still scanty.  Please holla back as usual.
Me no understand the Deap Capital again o. The fundamentals will soon get very wacky. I suspect the push is to support the coming PO. I guess many will end up in TS.

Maybe many folks don't realize there has been a mark down and think the stock is somehow "cheap" when in fact the shares have been diluted.

I definitely won't be chasing this one. When the bottom drops, na wahala he go be.
