Meanwhile, regarding the insurance coys - had my eye on three (Prestige, Oasisins & Mbenefit), but got one - Mbenefit, now checkout the volume on that one today, cool cool
Unusual high volume can point to TS being near so be on the look out. I hope not sha till you don finish your business. It is good though that it was not with a price drop.

On the other hand, there could a juicy rights issue in the offing and insiders will mop up the shares. No red signal. Just my  opinion.

invisible!:
@pumping, there was no mention of any bonus 'rumour' in the story. Does this mean we should disbelieve the possibility of such occurence.
If you are referring to my last post on Afribank, there was no "bonus" rumour in that one.

However, there was "bonus" rumour in the one I pasted a day or two back.

What I am really highlighting is that these folks are very focused on driving the price of the stock north. Believing or not believing is not important. It might provide the right CICO opportunity.

There is no need to wait to hear if there is bonus. A good CICO merchant would have collect his/her loot and bailed.

One thing I know for sure though, Afribank price will not be anywhere near N26 by the time the result is announced. Don't ask me why though. I just know that more rumours will follow these ones and the price must rise.

Abeg, I am not recommending buying the stock sha o. I have some already but I'm not thinking of buying any more to tell you I am not moved by this rumour or am Ihuh

My risk appetite is not so high but I believe others that take the risk may smile.

guys, this thread is moving too fast - una eyes de red for money oh<kidding> (excuse my pidgeon english).

Anyways, the thread has gone too long, I will resort to information retrieval and data mining to dig up valuables from here. Time is coming on NSE when men shall be doing optical character recognition on dailies and writing perl scripts to automate getting info.

Anyways, I have one million naira and I am looking for 60% returns in two months; i will be concentrating the funds into just one insurance company - I have reduced the list down to two - NIGER and CORNERSTONE. what are the pros and cons of each of thesehuh

@ PUMPING,

how you take see this diamond in the rough
I think a good re-entry point presented itself today. Maybe it will even dip further tomorrow making it even better. Everything now depends on how good the result will be. That is the real issue.

It's also good to know that the GDR shares are not likely to be credited before the Q-3 results.

Hi All,
Isn't CSCS trade alert supposed to be error free?

Twice now that I have noticed, their trade alert figures have not matched the pricelist on various websites.
Today for instance, they reported the following prices for these shares I disposed:
FBN, N49.80
GTB, N36.74
UBA, N49.95

I have checked across various websites and can't find a match for them even in the fluctuations.
These same shares when they were bought were some kobos higher, now in selling they are some kobos lower.
What's going on? taxation or what?
Many prices occur between the low, the high, the open and the close prices. You won't find your individual sell or buy prices on any site except you bought or sold at the low, high, open or closing price for the day.

You should only be concerned if you stock was bought or sold at a price lower than the lowest for the day or higher than the highest price of the day. Your price should be somewhere between the lowest and highest price of the day.

Of course I won't complain if it is sold at a price higher than the highest of the day  grin or bought at a price lower than the lowest of the day  grin

Is anyone surprised about the daily stock position today? Very few stocks on net bid today. Very different from what we've been seeing in the last few weeks.

I hope it is not the fear of the "February 6" syndrome that is reflecting on the market. One thing I have always known for sure is that many times, unreal net bids that can't be fulfilled are placed indefinitely for some stocks just to see the rise in prices.

i decided to play the market after being a veteran of public offers n told my broker to get me aiico shares for over a week now he has not gotten it yet n its gone from 5.78 to about 6 naira, qstn is ,is my broker plain lousy or are stocks just too difficult to get on the floor
Aiico has been hard to get since Technical suspension was lifted. Today is the first day in over 2 weeks that the stock experienced some turbulence.

I have a bit myself and have put in a order for more since last week but no show. I am hoping I got when the price dipped today since my bid was lower than the closing price.

So don't blame your broker. Na d stock.

Na to sidon dey look una - this week, we go know for most of this insurance coys,  If i had entered, i was planning on exiting very soon anyway.

Transcorp, transcorp - haba,  na wahoooooooooo  sad sad sad. I just thank God my people, fear and liver no gree me go close to that one, talk less of placing an order.
Ha. No worry. Better ones still full ground. If you I tell you the good stocks wey I don talk about wey I no get, you go pity me sef. If say I no buy my SCOA first and talk later, na talk I for still dey talk now grin grin grin. Na by talk?

I know how it feels when you do your due diligence and identify a kill but you are unable to buy. Unfortunately, many folks look for confirmation before calling their broker. That confirmation call often stirs interest and make the stock scarce.

I think everyone should show face on this forum to stimulate even more varied analysis. Operation no more silent readers  grin

Hi guys! Been following this thread as a silent observer for a couple of weeks.

Kudos to you all. Your spirit has been superb, until recently when hoarding crept in. I know you have your own individual reasons, and quite justifiably so. Some have talked about moneybags, etc!

However, I want to plead that you let the same spirit of generousity- that spirit of sharing that has kept this forum alive for so long- return to this forum. Don't lose conscious of the fact that the more you give, the more you receive.
The pleading must also extend to all members of the forum to make themselves visible and contribute so the thread can be enriched even further.

Silent readers - Please give so you can receive grin grin grin

No, I'm not. Remember, that some folks adviced jumping into Diamond last week and it was thought that the train had taken off on Thursday with the volume and price movement.

You had said on Wednesday that the candles suggest there are still a few more days before the train finally leaves the station. I commented that the candles may have been wrong based on the price movement that Thursday but you've been proven right with the price dip today.

Frankly, I have taken more interest in these candles. It is interesting how much information can be deduced from the shape that forms.

Unity Bank

Anyone watching this gradual but determined move? Closed at N9.81 today.

The PO rumour/price movement is now looking very real.

For those that took the chance, if this plays out, this will be a serious test of greed. To bail out safely or try to maximize profit and end up in TS?

I was surprised today.

I called CSCS to inform them that I don't get my CSCS trade alerts. I have to wait till the following day to confirm my transactions in my online account.

I got through first time and some one picked up the phone and promised to have it fixed by today! She was very polite, cautious and answered all my questions. Good service.

I've never even thought about calling them before. I was going to ask my broker to sort it out for me.

I am not dishing the other insurance companies. When my friend bought Crusader, I bought Lawunion and I posted here that I hope they don't go on TS this week o because I plan to bail this week.

I can only be sure of those that have done PO. Some POs will come when not being expected. I am just saying my own that, please be careful.

Correct me if i'm wrong but i thought you can only halt your trade by giving your brokers the appropriate instructions. CSCS trade  alert is to inform you what transactions has taken place on your stock-brokerage account in real-time.

You need to get in touch with your stock-brokers sharpish!
There is a free service which is just for information purposes.

There is also the paid service for about N3,600/Year for private investors which allows you to reverse a sale once you get the alert.

@All,

Got this from ZSL. The fear of TS is the beginning of NSE wisdom; well that's not totally true, depends on your investment (or CICO) style.

the Nigerian Stock Exchange has today added 6.25 billion shares to the shares outstanding in favour of IBTC-Chartered Plc following their merger with Stanbic Bank Nigeria Plc.

The Nigerian Stock Exchange has today placed Crusader Insurance Plc. on technical suspension following the receipt of their application for Offer of Subcription, Rights Issue and Debenture Stock.

The share price of Vitafoam Nigeria Plc. has today been adjusted for a dividend payment of N0.25k per share. The ex-div price is N10.05.
yodiyokun hit the nail on the head when she said the insurance sector is a mine field right now. This will only put more pressure on a PO-Free insurance stock like Aiico.
