All these things av seasons. We are already in period of scarcity. It's after July 20( that's Ramadan celebration for Muslims) that prices of things will start crashing. Prices of these northern produced things increases daily.

Paint of beans currently 2500 in lagos......last wk it was 2400.
Paint of egwusi currently 1600 in Lagos....last wk it was 1500.
A bag of 40 paints of egwusi is 57000 to 58000.
A bag of 27 paints of beans is like from 60000 upwards.

A basket of tomatoes here is 35 000. Abuja.

Now we have to go to what's called the 'orange' market. Guess things are sold in wholesale there.

Sometimes courage in life means the ability to keep living and moving forward despite other's opinions of you. A recent thought.

we protest for the wrong things always. Satchet water is 20NGN and we're cool about it, carbonated drinks are sold for 150NGN, derica of beans 450, derica of rice 400, yam 1000-2000, egg 70, and so on. A new government will not perform any miracle to bring down this prices immediately, and in Nigeria, we disobey gravity. Any price that goes up, hardly or never comes down.
Our protest should be based on these things first, because that's what matters.
Borders are shut, Southern farmers cannot farm, only the north provide food for the entire country and we're hoping to survive on how many farmers.

Something must happen soon because the hunger fest is not a small thing around here. Hunger leads to revolts!

Honestly. I mean what is this? If naira is good, I believe a poor man should be able to buy more than this for 200 naira, feed his small family. Not to talk of other things one would buy. An unemployed person or low wage earner will not have up to 2000, how can they and their families survive.

In countries using other currencies, there's food stamps, the poor can still fill their carts, there are many things you can buy with little money. May God help us in this country.

If tomatoes of 200 naira sold in Abuja can look this small in 2021, I don't know how things will be by 2030 or 2040. Naira keeps losing its value. At this rate, what will the common man be able to buy a few years into the future? This is a disturbing and real issue. Soon, we would be using more than a few thousands to buy tiny amounts of food, just to survive on a daily basis.

I'm glad you enjoyed this funny thread. I'm also glad that you put down some facts about the teens you know. It makes me feel that I'm not alone. Well, my teen brother and cousin are good, stubborn as usual. This morning my teen brother raised hell because we told him we would not be giving him the 35 000 meant for his lesson fees. He wants to pay the money by himself. He doesn't want my mom or I to follow him to school. It would not be cool you know (lol) . He wishes with all his heart that the boys, the men, were at home. Was shouting at us that women have issues. Well, he can wail forever, but I cannot give him that money as I will be held accountable for anything that happens to it.

The other one is also stubborn, won't stop calling people the funniest names I've ever heard...has no issue with bad words too...

They'll grow out of it.

I used the solutions suggested to me here, and though these kids are still 'strong heads', I actually control more now. I learnt how to use those things they like to make them behave.

Dearie, for both genders, the law is the same. Before defaming anyone, one should have ample proof of what they are accusing that person of. Even then, I'm not sure that a single individual without the permission of the law, or as a necessity following protocol, is allowed to release information about anyone by themselves.

At the height of my bias, i might not post anything on a females thread. But what I would think is the same. It really should be the job of the police and media that has that legal right.
