ogb5:The countries that transport LNG for electricity only exist in mars I suppose. Kmt |
I read this and laughed. The real thugs of Nigeria. Onto the more important parts of the article. If it's true that the military have no business policing elections? then why did Jega postpone it? Could it be that Jega is working hand in hand with these criminals to rig the election in favor of PDP? |
Thank you both. Rawani your post was brilliant, I realize today I don't have one (non mixed) friend from the North, if I was to believe my parents its simply because they have no interest in traveling abroad or making money but matters always have to have more depth. The issue with the missionaries was wide spread and does in fact still continue to cause trouble in various communities today definitely not just in Nigeria or only amongst the North. I don't believe western education is the only way, and I do often worry Nigerians don't pay enough attention to their own cultures, which of course makes matters worse as we don't actually make efforts to understand the people with whom we share a nation and in turn we don't do enough to cater to their needs. Learning Arabic is just as important as learning English and indeed learning local languages and cultures. A true leader will ensure that our children are well versed in many local languages, cultures, religions, traditional and in addition has sufficient western knowledge to take advantage of he diversity and stimulate economic growth and inter tribal relationships. We have a long way to go. But it does start with threads like this, I hope you are not discouraged, so long as we understand and respect each other well, times will get better. |
http://www.premiumtimesng.com/news/top-news/176633-leaked-ekiti-tape-dare-obanikoro-go-court-falana.html All is explained by FF here - that being said, I wonder if he was insinuating Jega is privy to pdps plans to rig the election. . . . . |
Thinkr: Misogynist2014: horlabiyi:kindly tell us the results ![]() |
ITbomb:i thought men did the eating?? @post i'll go the Nigerian way - Never speak of it, it didn't happen why will you even repeat such!! and then the kids can go the western way - therapy for a veeeery long time!! lol It does happen - what we hope is that the kids dont say what they saw to someone else or worse still . . . . .try to act it out *shudders* |
Thank you for this Arewa very informative thread. I also admire your patience and polite tone which must be difficult in the face of soo much hatred and bigotry. I apologize if you have already answered this I haven't been through the whole thread, but returning to the colonial policies you mentioned earlier - we are no longer in colonial times which is obvious, have there been no efforts by the Northern leaders to provide suitable education? Is there no encouragement by them currently? owobokiri:This is an eye opener. |
I laughed when I saw this! It's not funny oo. I'm not a pet person but I do have one and treat her like a baby lol. I guess you get attached. Kpele to your girlfriend - they should get another pet. |
Chiaka:How specific do you want him to be? Do you think GEJ has failed in curtailing the insurgents because the insurgents are highly skilled, outnumber and outspend our military and possess advanced technology and equipment? The man answered the question!! He will apply the resources we have!! It's enough! an army of 130k to a few thousand miscreants? It's an embarrassing joke! The truth is GEJ has and never will be committed to resolving Nigerias BH problem! That being said I will like to know what details GEJ has given us about anything? Neither of them have a convincing game plan, but we have experienced 4 years of Jona and can clearly see he can't do nadda! I don't care who he has at heart (though it's been said many times Buhari is a staunch nationalist) anybody committed to eliminating corruption and removing these terrorists has my vote 20 thousand times. |
agabaI23:No I actually took a sympathetic view of your post, because I am genuinely trying to identify the positives of GEJ. It's what I understand from the details you have posted. You may have more info than me which will help elaborate but you haven't mentioned any. Why else will someone not like additional controls to a project? If you plan on carrying them out you shouldn't have a problem with the structure in place. agabaI23:No I'm speaking of any project that's 100% GEJ, please name one. agabaI23:An overall estimate is often sufficient, experienced contractors can tell you how long a project will take (I'm strictly speaking infrastructure projects here) extra cost and delays may be inevitable if we don't negate the quality of the job. Again I ask you to name one worthy of a federal government agabaI23:Let's start with GEJs railway scam, which I understand wasn't started by him, hasn't been finished and doesn't even do what was promised? agabaI23:I mean is it far fetched for us to expect you to substantiate these claims? You are trying to sell us something, at least give us a reason to buy it? The president doesn't only affect our present, he dictates our future and determines how Nigerias story will be written in history. It's not too much to ask for a sensible reason why you'll claim he has done 'o soo well' ok copying and pasting is just too long - to the rest that you've said are these claims true? You do know what the figures are currently on unemployment and poverty? If you don't I'll find them for you. It belittles a federal government to send students abroad, how has he improved education at home? The agropreneur scheme is also likely a scam, I know not one farmer that has benefited from this (I know many many farmers!) This apparent lottery scheme you speak of, supposing it existed and wasn't just another one of GEJs 419 tactics, how is this a more sensible policy than putting the money towards plugging the corruption gone wild under his watch? |
Brilliant interview - I think he has answered all the questions and explained himself for the tough regime he once presided. Also, I hope all the pdp theives and criminals heard well that he said he wont go after you? There is no need to postpone the election (I believe they were trying to extend their time for the fear of Buhari is the beginning of wisdom!! ) I can imagine them all hastily trying to cover their tracks some trying hard to bury their private jets underground somewhere!Don't worry yourselves you are safe, here is a subtle promise of immunity ![]() |
Lets actually entertain this 'contractor' story for a minute What I'm getting, is the change in government affected this contractors ability to take on ghost contracts? More likely there's a new set of vultures are receiving them in his place because I can't remember reading about a single project executed and commissioned within GEJs era to the cost and times initial promised - talk less of the quality. His second grudge, when this 'contractor' said GEJ has done 'soo well' you didn't care to ask him to expatiate? Provide examples? Is he a farming contractor? What exactly did GEJ and NOI do so well? Same for trade and investment, you didn't hear poverty almost doubled as did the unemployment rates? How exactly is the performance anything but appalling? I'm not too sure what the purpose of this story is but it's told us nothing, if anything I'm in the firm belief GEJ supporters are as daft as he is. Good performance is just that there are no grey areas - he's either improved the country or not. In the face of global performance the man has even set the economy backwards. How in this digital era a large number of youths remain unemployed is ridiculous. |
Transcript please!! |
tbaba1234:Absolutely, I 100%,agree. It will be foolish for anyone to assume that Buhari will use the same measures he did over 30 years ago. Times have changed and so have the countries requirements. Corruption is the only thing that has become worse over the years and I'm confident Buhari is capable of dealing with it. |
EUROBOMBER:So you will cut off your nose to spite your face is what you are saying? Just so you can see a Southerner rule regardless of how corrupt, inept, incompetent , destructive and anti-nigerian he is? This is the exact mentality that has led to Nigeria only having the choice of morons and goons in politics. Clearly there is no need for educated individuals to waste their time because Nigerians only vote on the basis of tribes and not sense. |
emmabowin:He probably will have won on an even playing field but he decided not to go that way. For that he should be impeached. Its unacceptable that the leader of a state can openly commit such criminal acts. Anything is possible in Nigeria abeg. @op I wonder why Fayemi hasn't gone to court over this. It's well documented that those individuals were arrested by armed guards during the election, this serves as a witness testimony. There's enough evidence available now to put Fayose away for good. The man is too bold. |
Where exactly can one check the stats? Is there a reliable office in Nigeria with information on crime statistics?? |
Nigerians are powerless against the ruling class, then again so is everyone else. But here the only tool that gives us the illusion of democracy is being taken away. It wasn't decided yesterday that the elections will hold on he 14th. There's been more than enough time to mobilize troops for the election, judging by the previous one I don't even think the move is entirely necessary especially if the military really is battling against the insurgents in the North. We'd just have to exclude the problem areas and continue. The state of affairs back home is incredibly disheartening, more so now the elections will hold close to holidays when some might be traveling home with no intention of getting caught up in politics. Its just a shame that these people can do what they like and continue to get away with it. |
I don't think this is actually true. No mention of it anywhere else? Why didn't the OS post a source? |
Fayose, who was behind the murder of a youth during a Councillorship by-election This doesn't surprise me at all. Does anyone know where I can find the audio? |
Doesn't look like a private jet.. . . . . . . .looks more like a limo. |
loooooool @the rules 'use perfect grammar and punctuation' Brilliant article - assuming we even wanted to take on large infrastructure projects without a forecast of the maintenance costs. $20bn spent frugally I dare say could very well change the country. |
obadiah777: SO MUCH FOR THE PLETHORA OF PSEUDO-E DOCTORS HAMMERING ABOUT DEEP VEIN THROMBOSIS. LIKE YOU CAN MAKE A DIAGNOSIS WITHOUT SEEING THE PERSONin fact- when there was suggestion the hospital doctors said it I realised everyone was now getting information from twitter. We need to be careful ooo, soon twitter will tweeting peoples lives to them as they live it! |

Tiwa savage isn't pretty at all. . . .stop lying to yourselves. We have many beautiful artists in Nigeria. . . .can't name them off the top of my head but they exist!!!! they do!!! *waves fist* Meanwhile- the dress is unpleasant to view but she certainly didn't deserve all the gender directed insults. Nigerian men are just soo. . . . . . . .eurgh. . .I tired of addressing it. |
how much wss this concert? did anyone go? was it any good? |
ypzilanti: Just saw the post with the wedding pictures and all. Just goes to show you how shoddy the journalism is in Nigeria. The wedding was done in Nigeria from the pictures posted...even Traditional marriage. nothing secret if you ask me. you can see that many people attended the wedding ceremony. Our journalists are just lazy.i think it's more like they weren't interested. If the marriage is a legitimate one- I think Goldie was ashamed of her husband, because he's old. The issue of privacy was obviously only a problem to Goldie. Since Andrew Harvey doesn't mind exposing the life they had and his own private life on facebook now she is gone. If you really wanted privacy you won't be jumping out of the woodworks and issuing 'warnings' to men Goldie was publicly associated with. You won't be having interviews, interviews you didn't have when she was alive. You won't be exposing yourself. She might have been married before she became famous, because most people didn't even question the fact she uses her husbands name. . . . .which is actually hilarious! |
The whole story is very fishy. . . . fishy fishy fishy fishy. . . . . . . .the truth shall unfold He says prezzo will do anything to get attention. . . .but who is launching himself out of the woodworks AFTER his wife's death? I imagine Goldie is worth quite a bit and coming out quickly means. . . . . . we all know |
kandiikane: Their tongues are just irresistible.Kandikane you naughty girl! :p though I had to double check and according to friends this is actually true! |
Abrantie: I'm not sure you're aware but Stormfront is a racist/white supremacist web site. Some of the stuff they write there makes Hitler seem like a saint. No i didn't know that, otherwise I wouldn't have quoted the link. |
He shouldn't be allowed to do that. Not with state money. Is it the burden of Lagos state to pay the National Team? If this story is true then Fashola has disappointed me. I thought he was much smarter than this. I though players made more money than their managers? Lol then again I do think Keshi is the main man to congratulate for Nigerias success. Considering his abysmal line up actually worked! |
