It's this level of reasoning that kept the North with all the negative indices showered on her.

How does BUA's wealth affect the entire poor enclave of Northern Nigeria? Can't you think, in Economics Wealth that's not evenly distributed leads to poverty. 80% of Northern population is living below poverty line, and you're mentioning just one fellow.
I assume IMF and World Bank didn't see

Dangote and BUA wealth before declaring Northern Nigeria poverty capital of the globe.
I feel like I'm talking to a wall.

Nobody is discussing wealth distribution with you. It's not as if the poor do not outnumber the wealthy in your village.

We are talking about how productive and blessed our lands are with proof of the BILLIONS they are producing....Amidst the context of showcasing the infrastructural developments we've been able to achieve, that you and your incompetent leaders can only dream of.

Our constitution is clear limestone deposits are public property just like oil deposits
They should not be sold by state governments.
So I maintain there was no transparency in that deal
And other mining deals in the North.
The question is one man trebles his wealth overnight by acquiring mining rights how much accrued to the government at the centre?
If oil deposits are public property that shouldn't be exploited, then why does the FG sell exploration rights to private firms? Isn't it to earn revenue for the same public? Same applies to Limestone. CCNN has had mining rights and earned revenue for the State and other stakeholders since 1962. The billionaire simply spotted an opportunity and bought into the operation.

Your argument lacks basis.

0m0nnakoda:
Acquired public property for free or neatly free without transparency thereby tripling his wealth? And you think that is worth boasting about.?
Money that should accrue to the centre just like oil money from the Niger Delta
A simple search could have saved you this embarrassment.

CCNN was not public property, it had already been bought over by Norwegians from the Sokoto state government who nearly ran it down over 20 years ago so Abdulsamad bought it off them. If you wanted the money to accrue to the centre, you should have told the southern led governments we had since 1999 to establish a govt owned coy like the NNPC to exploit our precious billion dollar spinning Arewa limestone instead of wailing on this thread like a burning masquerade.

Good luck finding another straw to cling on.

It has to be so, that the North is developing faster than it is expected. One of the reason, although, with other reason is that, the southerners are noise makers and until they stop making noise, and reflect, they will never know what the Northerner are doing or what they are up to. And we will always be cought up unaware with such development taken place out there politically and economically.May God bless Nigeria.
You have said it all.

Wow! Northern indeed. How much does Limestone in Kogi and Obajana contribute to the revenue of Nigeria? While Nigeria generates 80% of her revenue from Oil, you're here reasoning with your legs like a typical Northern.

How many Northerners own a building in Lagos? Please close your mouth, less than 2% and you're shouting. Ask El-Rufai, as at when he was FCT Minister, Igbos own 67% of property in Abuja.
You can't possibly be this slow. How does the failure of government to exploit natural resources in the North mean the North is not productive? You see what I was saying about the reasoning of Onitsha miracle Centre products?

Abdulsamad Rabiu tripled his networth when he acquired Sokoto Cement aka Cement Company of Northern Nigeria (CCNN) to add to his BUA Cement Company.

Yes indeed, the 9th richest African on the Forbes list, above any Easterner, made his money from the Northern Soil. Don't expect any response on your ignorant 2% claim from IPOB Bureau of Statistics.

This statistics is based on Arabic/informal education.

90% of Sokoto state is illiterate based on Western education.
This statement is clearly a product of informal education.

Your logic is why others insult the reasoning of Northern Nigeria. Does a nation get rich by uneven distribution of wealth?, it's even distribution of wealth.

An average Northern, doesn't pay for one room in Lagos, what does that tell you? They're into minia jobs.
Your logic is why others insult the reasoning of products of exam miracle centres prevalent in the South.

My post was in response to the question of what the North produces asides agriculture which is why I mentioned Limestone - found in the North & the raw material used in making Cement - which is the foundation of Africa's richest billionaires (BUA & Dangote Cement).

If you were capable of basic comprehension, you would have understood the context of my statement, instead of indicting your reasoning by wrongly assuming I was celebrating uneven wealth distribution.

Your ignorance is alarming. You don't have a shred of research or empirical evidence, yet you claim northerners don't rent rooms in Lagos and only engage in "minia" (you meant menial) when I personally have relations that own multiple properties in Ikoyi & Banana Island.

You are just an unexposed poorly educated bigot.

If somebody calls your child bad, be nice and praise his own. I'm not ignorant, what human resources are there in the North, Aside Agro produces?
Two of Africa's top Richest $ billionaires on the Forbes list (Abdulsamad Rabiu and Aliko) made their money from cement, not oil, CEMENT from the limestone rich soils of Northern Nigeria.

Let that sink in.

Better wake up and stop letting your leaders and media deceive you thinking you're better off while they rob you blind.

This is outside: what of the inside? It is the inside that counts the most.

Level of HDI is very low in the North. 80% of the poorest Nigerians live in the North. Only 10% of Sokoto indigenes are literate.

These issues take the shine off these grandiose projects. It was the emphasis on the unseen issues that put Lamido Sanusi into trouble with the state governor.
Why do some of you lie so shamelessly? A simple research will save you these faux pas.

Lol. I was about to copy Arrewa too to see one of the thread he likes creating.

As a southerner, I want the best for the North tho coz I think when everywhere is developed, it will be a win-win for the country.
The narrative of the North as a backward undeveloped desert is often deliberately propagated by mainstream media because apart from the fact the bad news sells better, the HDI statistics don't help matters, even though they're a skewed representation of the North, mostly because those statistics & indexes are calculated per-capita and the North's huge population will always present it worse that it actually is.

An example is how the typical European or American always thinks Africa is a backward jungle thanks to Western media (again, because bad news sells better) and negative statistics like most Africans living on less than a dollar a day; when in reality, millions of Africans use iPhones, go on vacations, live comfortably in Estates & fly business class.

With social media and the Web, such narratives are being shattered gradually and I hope along with you, that development reaches all corners and strata of society.

Quotasystem teaching Gandollaar punctuation! LMAO!

The reason you all fear Igbos would surely happen to you any day you make the mistake of supporting them for presidency!
1. The North can't fear a region it plays like ludo, a region it outnumbers, a region it outpowers militarily, a region its politically superior to by miles. Are we supposed to fear BSS or retired Biafra survivors, or is it Umahi that can stop kissing arse?
You suffer from a severe delusion of grandeur.

2. The North will only support you for Presidency when you learn to humble yourselves and learn to build bridges & play politics devoid of blackmail, grandstanding and emotions.

1 - what makes you feel the antics you see now is not sponsored aswell, same way you claim that of GEJ was sponsored meanwhile it's common knowledge that GEJ was not accepted in the core North..

The twits of el-rufai, yakassai and other cohorts are forever on the internet.

2 - before now the SE was the butt of all jokes, most especially when the North/SW was in opposition. Like you rightly outlined, drug trafficking, baby factory, ritual killings, conflicts were used to ridicule the SE, now the tables have turned, these vices are now relegated majorly to the North alongside being in leadership position, how then do you keep cursing?

I have friend that once told me to put him in my line of business, the next thing he said was "teach me a good line, not kidnapping and drugs ooo".. I have not seen this friend in years but that goes to show the general discuss and racial tag..

3 , the threads you see may not be SE, this is the internet, anyone can claim and be anything.

4, you may say Buhari is loved and has a cult following in the North, great, but that does not mean the general populace should all put up with his incompetence alltimes without making our hearts known..

The SE is benevolent and supports whom it deems fit, no matter the divide.. the same SE rejected Buhari/Okadigbo..
Tables have turned and skull mining, ritual killings, cultism, baby factory are now relegated to the North? shocked huh huh

When? grin

Wake up bro its 6 am.

Making your hearts known is not the same as antagonising and attacking the President endlessly. The East must be strategic, humble, and make concessions, to make any political progress. Like it or not. Cheers.

1 - Some SE may have their reservations for Buhari for a lot of reasons tilting on nepotism, fanaticism etc. To some extent they not be 100% wrong, but they have not hindered the ambition of any region...

They supported Obasanjo (SW)
They supported Yar adua (NW)
They supported GEJ (SS)
They supported Saraki (NC)
They supported Atiku (NE)

It's just coincidence that Buhari happened to be the first APC candidate gunning against a southerner, alongside some SE having resentments for him personally way before this presidency. The reasons they have against him are still very rife today.

2 - the insults is shared accordingly, it's just that some have more access to internet and data than some, alongside one region may be handicapped because the presidency is from the most advanced region in the North..

We all saw Kano and Kaduna throw stones at GEJ.
*That is not true. The East particularly has a propensity for attacking and attempting to humiliate the North and the evidence is all over social media. Jonathan stoning saga was sponsored and subsequent reports confirmed that.

*The argument of Internet access is total rubbish: ever heard of Arewa Twitter? Compare the tweets on Northern issues by southerners compared to tweets by northerners on southern issues e.g cultism, ritual killings, drug trafficking etc. and the difference is markedly clear.

*Even on NL we see the barrage of insults on the North with full threads opened to ridicule the region... How many have your seen opened by Northerners on this forum? Or you think we are not many on here?

**My friend politics is not a tea party, you reap what you sow. Buhari is loved and remains a cult figure by many in the North unlike Atiku so all the attacks and lack of support for him from the vast majority in the East is what the region is reaping and will reap in 2023. That's the bottom line.

Smithkafors:
Leave those people, someone will just wake up and say anything they want without thinking....they will run away from your question. How did igboes sow rejection and resentment to other regions?.
1. They all knew for sure that PMB was and remains a cult figure in the North with a massive support base, but Igbos totally rejected and refused to support him as a region (less than 10% votes) twice, and continued to harass, blackmail, chastise, ridicule, insult and attack him to this day.

We know he isn't perfect and has some failures particularly the widespread insecurity, but to have an entire region endlessly antagonise him and offer direct & tacit support & sympathy for ipob/Nnamdi Kanu, will only and continues to breed resentment for the East from his massive support base in the North & West.

2. To make matters worse, Easterners continue to daily insult & attack this same support base that they need dearly to support their own political interests, which will consequently breed rejection and resentment from this same electoral majority in the North & West.
