thorpido: The motherless babies' home is family. Have you ever been to one? Pardon me if I don't see it that way. Except OP picks a fresh 16 year old gir from the orphanage home. Most homes only help you till you reach adulthood. Most of those kids get adopted. Between adulthood and marriage, who's to say that the director of the orphanage has not been replaced |

tyconcepts: Like damn.....The post took my mind back to 2013 when I had the opportunity and cash to buy a car (was working and earning something reasonable)....If you hear and see the way my mum kicked against it vehemently as though I was planning on buying poison ehennnn. You can imagine. Hope you got that car? I think men like women to be dependent on them but yet somehow complain about dependency at the same time. |

thorpido: The proprietress of the motherless babies' home is in the best position to receive it or she may assign someone else. The child may be motherless but someone raised her.If the traditional marriage is to be observed, they decide how it goes. Traditional marriage without family? |

Before we misinterpret her words here, She said the only plastic surgery she might consider doing is breast reduction. It was a response to a question.
She did not say she would do breast reduction. |

I am not into mining per se, but I work with metals.
Since you just finished NYSC, I think you should just cast your net into the engineering job ocean. Don't be too specific for now. Just get into the industry and find a way to get to mining. |

This is why physical punishments should be banned from schools. I can bet these students were either late, or making noise or something silly like this.
All of you guys advocating for violence in our schools. This is what they are making your kids do. Your kids are eating sand. |

I love this woman!
What is the point of linda ikeji just putting up her pictures calling her stunning. She is not contesting for miss Nigeria. She is not a fashion model.
Next time, if Linda wants to introduce someone like her to LIB, talk about her achievements and future goals (if any).
Very proud of you Khadija for speaking up for yourself. |

I support the man, he should take a DNA test and find out the true paternity of the child. He should not pay child support for a child that is not his.
I wonder why this man didn't find a good girl Abroad to marry or at least take time to find a good girl in Nigeria. Marriage is not something you rush into! |

Donpressman: You talk too much! Now take a good look at yourself and tell me if your mum will be proud of you and how you just exposed her Uncultured upbringing of you? Your type that jump on defence going as far as insulting other people's mum definitely was not given birth to by a responsible mum and certainly you can't be one. I think the person she replied to insulted his own mother first. He said that " you women don't bring anything to the table". Daretodiffer asked if his mother didn't bring anything to the table. I don't see any problem with that question. You should not be insulting her because of this. |

otiigba1: am guessing you are speaking from experience right? digressing, barack obama as an example? One in ten million, look! My point is its better to have two parents than one ok! Whether you agree or not, feel as bad as you would like, truth be told. i repeat a single mother could never raise a child/ children (even if you a super woman) i ve also heard a lot of single mother's lament on how they wished there is a father figure ( male role model) for their child/children. My opinion anyway. What's your opinion about single fathers? Its very sexist placing blame to women when we have men walking away from their families and leaving their children behind. A man will decide to impregnate a woman and leave her to cater for herself and kids . Yet, the society won't let women who have decided to pick up the slack left by these irresponsible men REST. Behind every single mother there is an IRRESPONSIBLE AND ABSENTEE FATHER. Why can't men decide to raise their kids , since they want a child with a male role model so badly.
I apologize for my rant but the sexist talk on nairaland gets to me a lot. A lot of men who have no idea about women and the oppression they face in Nigeria just come to nairaland and talk off hand. |
