Morning madam. I am currently having similar issue with skolex. AC guy suspected a weak compressor but suggested I flush the condenser first. Condenser flushed with no result. From my research, nobody memtioned a weak compressor as the culprit. Out of the numerous causes I read, I am thinking of going the easiest way first(low refrigerant) by topping up the refrigerant. An experienced youtube mechanic said after a prolonged AC use, it's normal for the system to loose some refrigerant via the rubber seal at the compressor shaft so that the shaft can be lubricated otherwise, the seal will burn out. Hence my decision to add a little refrigerant first and see what happens.
Additional details;
Pix 1- Pressure measurement in the system while operating was about 31psi. Same youtube mechanic suggested pressure to be between 30-40psi. Another DIY youtube enthusiast suggested 45-55psi. I don't know whether to push it to 35psi or 50psi.

pix 2. Temperature from air vent in a hot sunny afternoon when car was stationary.

pix 3. Temperature from air vent in the evening when weather was a bit cool and car also stationery.
Note: AC cools when car is moving even in hot weather.

pix 4. Condenser looks rough on the surface. The rough portion might be slightly blocked inside. Should I consider replacing it later even if adding refrigerant solves the problem?
Thank you.
Pretty detailed but missing one key piece of information... What kind of car do you drive??

Good evening aunty radu

Do you have ac leak detection kit? How much?
Hey!

When you say kit, you mean the dye? We have both the r134 with uv dye and the stand-alone dye.

Great minds grin

Actually it was more of the "raw" diagnosis experience I wanted to portray not a polished end product. As for the Carquest caps I will have to steal more next time I'm in Florida. The gloves are available for SALE grin

Funny aside, they're the same gloves in 6 underground.

Oh, Gold was working on a Ford on the other side of the shop.

Perfectly normal with these guys here. Crazy unreliable unrefundable sign up fees because service sucks and they know you're likely to cancel.

Please I have an urgent and emergency situation.

My sister said her boss wants to help her travel abroad (Kazakhstan), was hoping to meet them here in Abuja to check on her documents myself and also verify things, but she told me at the last minute on my way to airport that they were not able to get a flight to Abuja, so they will travel from Lagos.

Now I smell something fishy and wish to either stop her from travelling or get a tangible information of her flight itinerary and information of the person travelling with her.

Have placed calls to contacts I have at Lagos, no one is close to both local and international airport.

Please I cry out to you guys, how can you help me out. Who has any contact at International airport who can help me ascertain some vital information from her and her boss who is traveling with her. My head is going bonkers right now.

Please it's urgent as their flight to Kazakhstan is ur within 7 and 8, emirates. She doesn't even know all the information but is keen on going, even after I told her on phone not to go.
What information exactly are you trying to get?? What's the phone number? Run a reverse Google search

Alright thank you.

I'll have it checked out.

Any idea how much it'll cost me?
What year is your car? It's pretty much What dicksonadams described. Maybe I should hire him LMAO! It's just that the leak isn't large enough for you to see smoke when it burns off.

Guys please I need help with this issue.

I have a Lexus RX 300 but I've noticed that the oil level seems to drop pretty fast, even a few weeks after servicing.

I use Mobil Oil by the way.

I recently drove down (serviced it a week before) from Lagos to the village (approximately 6 hours drive) no issues, got home safe.

Before heading back to Lagos (3 weeks later), I noticed that the oil level was low and I had it serviced again with 5 liters of Mobil oil. Changed the oil filters too.

But on getting to Lagos(another 6 hour drive) the same thing happened. Oil level had considerably dropped.

- There is no physical oil leakage where it's parked.
- The engine does not smoke

The oil just seems to vanish into thin air.

I'll appreciate if anybody has had similar experiences or can offer any tips to prevent this.

P.S car is in excellent working condition, only the oil issues.
It's your valve seals. Common problem here. Take plugs out and you'll see burn residue.

Thank boss.
Yes am using it for uber but on weekends (Saturday n Sundays) that's when I use it actively.

Mobil oil (not so sure of the type) is what I use as that was my first service of the car since I bought it. I'm open to to any suggested oil that can withstand the hustle. Someone recommended I use Rozarium 5w30 on my next service of the car.

If i may ask, what is the difference between mineral technology and synthetic oil and what mileage i my suppose cover before servicing?

Plus, have a 20 year relationship with the maker and all I had to do was push a couple of buttons and they came to me. No phonecalls, negotiations or traffic required. Icing on the cake, if I complain even one isn't perfect, they express me a whole new batch. Which is why the pens don't bother me because they'll send me a whole new print.

Pls if I use a car for 1 to 2 house journey once in every two weeks, do I still need to service it every three months? Thanks
Yes. It's every 3 months or 3,000 miles with conventional or 6 months or 5,000 miles with synthetic even if you don't drive the car once.

No, it's just a joke. There's nothing special about it lol

In fact tojahh mentioned it could be easily made here in Nigeria. It's more about the camaraderie.
