I have an Hyundai Elantra 2008. The acceleration is not proportional to its speed. When you accelerate, the car drags and never goes above 80km/h. At a point you'd hear a cranking sound from the engine.
Yes there's enough oil as it was serviced about 3weeks ago. Please what is the issue with it. Help a bro.

Haha...baba you kill it! Nothing left to b done.
Mechanics are just reaping us off they all don’t have a conscience. I don’t blame them after all it last we the ignorant once I blame.

Like our Aunty wey dey charge 10k to change just a shock or 5k/hr I really don’t know y someone should charge outrageously just for a simple service all in the name of expertise. Las las they still don’t solve the problem.

Anyways, man must whak!
But shouldn’t be at the expense of your neighbor’s comfort.
It's not your fault. It's because of my unprecedented transparency in pricing. I am not ashamed or hiding my prices. What other shop have you seen who volunteers pricing for anything you ask for in a public forum and it doesn't change? It doesn't matter when you call or who you talk to, price will always be the same because it is standardized. Maybe I should do like everyone else, refuse to publicize price and charge how we feel you can pay then make sure you have to come back to us for something else.

You are also doing the same thing you say people do to drivers every day. You are demeaning the value of a technician's job. You take offense when people won't pay outrageous surge charges to ride in your car vs common taxi driver yet you have the nerve to call what technicians do simple?? You think techs just roll out of bed and start working? They are educated and go to SCHOOL. They are mechanical engineers, computer scientists, artists and electricians rolled in one. Go meet any engineer and offer him 5k for an hour of his time and see if he doesn't laugh in your face! You still think technician's are dirty, uneducated, low tier members of society obviously. Someone was offering a driver in here guaranteed income to drive but consensus was it wasn't worth his time. If I recall, about 2,500 for him to sit down behind the wheel for 30 minutes to an hour and you have a problem with OUR charges?

You're complaining I charge 5-10k to change a shock. In addition to changing that shock, we also check for anything else that might be wrong with your car for free. If something goes wrong with it in the next 90 days we will do it again for free. Will Kazeem do that? How many years did the tech train to get his certification? How much does continuing education cost? How much did I pay for the tools we use? Is electricity free? Is my technician's labor free? Is Lagos State letting me stay there for free? Does my equipment work forever without maintenance? Do you fix one and get two free? Go to another shop less equipped than I am and see how much they will charge you for the same thing. When I charge 20k for engine work or fix something for 10k that other places tried to charge up to 100k for you don't say anything then abi? I could go on but check yourself before you wreck yourself. Charging outrageously mmmcheww.

I can take a lot of things but calling into question my integrity I will not stand for. It is what led me to erase another well known party here from my orbit. I stay on this platform because typically people here are better informed than the norm. Typically.

If I ask you to drive to ikorodu now for just the cost of fuel you will say I'm wicked. Meanwhile your own policy is Uber x2 plus some in case you blow back empty. At least I don't charge in case I can't find another customer. Nonsense.

Hello sir, have issues with my Honda civic automatic 2003 model. I discover that the D light on the dashboard blinks and due to this whenever the car finds it difficult to accelerate on hilly place and taking off when there is need for me to stop seems difficult as u have to accelerate hard.
Wnt to scan the car and the rewire man who is good too said from the readings, the TPS (Throttle position sensor) has gone bad. I just wondered if the reason for the D blinking was due to fault in TPS?
Try reading on TPS online and its faulty symptoms but know saw D blinking as part of the D light blinking as part of the symptoms of faulty TPS . pls need advice
What are the exact codes the rewire got?

I remember one lady I picked from Cubana VI around 11:30pm one of those nights. She was going to somewhere around Palmgrove-Onipanu area. I started the trip and saw her destination. I loaded Google maps and we were on our way.

...

Both of us soon calmed down after shouting at each other back and forth. Last last, Google maps got us to her destination.

I'm sure she would have rated me 3 stars or less.

This man seems like an accountant, he's not going to pay such amount. Why do you feel I should drive this man? Is it because I said he helped the guy paid his weekly remittance twice? I should add that it wasn't for free smiley, he was going to work for it.
No, because i think he is testing you to see what you do and he's actually low maintenance. It's what I would do. Make him the counter offer with your terms and concerns clear and see his response.

What year is your matrix? Is your cruise control working? Could be speed sensor, abs module or lose connection to ECU. I really think with the lights you have on it's a loose ECU cable or worst case, ECU is bad (but I doubt it's bad). Do NOT let a Kazeem near this.

Update on this.

All thanks to google, I was able to find out that one of my coils was damaged.

Guys, oyibo people are too much oo. I saw a video where a white mechanic was saying I should be removing all the coils one by one. If the engine should not change in sound as I removed any... Then that one is bad!

I did and voila... one of them did not make the engine change sound as I unplugged it. Straight to Jakande I went and bought a tokumboh coil for 4,000 naira only. I followed the instruction on the video and changed it well. I swear to God that my car is now in top shape again grin grin grin

This was something my Mechanic billed me 10k to do undecided undecided undecided

There is no big deal I swear. Just use a bolt screw and unlock the engine cover. Its pretty easy.

When I was done, I noticed that the check engine light was still showing. I went back to that mechanic and he said that I should pay 4,000 to scan and wipe it undecided undecided undecided

I googled again and the white man in a video said I should disconnect one of the battery terminal and plug it back in after 5 minutes. I folllowed it again and voila.... Check engine light is gone grin grin grin

God bless White people grin grin grin

Google For President grin grin grin grin
ROFL! So you're saying it was easy peasy? Congrats wink

I asked @AutoMoTech...

... reason for putting the question forward is simply to avoid a likely "known-for" (or if you like "part-&-parcel" ) problem that some car owners allow their car to live with.

This discussion may interest you: https://community.cartalk.com/t/conversion-form-power-steering-to-manual-steering/107919

I just thought it wise to get as much knowledge as possible before choosing between
1. Repair/improvising follow come
2. Buying toks to replace.

And
... I have used the services of some "reputable" Mechanics who failed to deliver at times.

Thank you very much to all contributors!
Carry on. Cases like yours are very frustrating for me. Those who have ears will hear.

Please my Toyota Camry started shaking suddenly yesterday and the check engine light came on.

When I opened the bonnet, I found out that the engine is shaking horribly.

What could be the cause please?

A lot of things could be responsible. More detail is needed or at least a scan

Thank you for your suggestion. The challenge we foresee with that is that people will continue to post requests here. If we respond, it defeats the purpose of the new thread... if we don’t, another problem.
Nah, you won't have to response because people will redirect them for you

Amdman, I suggest you create a thread simply for people to request cars they want you to look for to declutter this one. Will also make it easier to see and respond to requests so fewer complaints about non-response and the kind of vehicles on this thread.

Happy New Year!

Hello madam Radautoworks, I begio a yaff come again, after parking my car {Pontiac vibe 05} for about a week of no use due to the holiday, I noticed the rpm of my car went up and down briefly while driving on third mainland bridge and I had the feeling as if I was going over a bump.

On day two I had same feeling of going up a bump, rpm seems to rise and drop brief , but this time the car slowed down and stop on third mainland bridge after 15min of driving {scary experience}, I had to push it to the road side. Funny things was no check engine Light and no error code when I scanned it. The gear stick was stucked at park, had to unlock it to neural manually {pin beside the gear) so I can push it off the road.

My kazeem say oga oti misfire niyen abi fuel pump ti baje.

Please kindly advice.

Ma’am you won’t blame us oh it’s the situation of the country that tailored us to be like that. The person I’m even trying to assist with this information believe me I don’t know him and never have I meet him but we belong to same group on Ocar WhatsApp group.

The guy in question is married with kids and he’s in a HP and he’s finding it very difficult to meet up with just taxify baring in mind Ocar is not meeting up to drivers expectations. I just pitied him and promised to assist him by ranking my head and asking people with better experience than I.

So don’t blame us blame the system which is cause by our leaders.
This will probably spark an argument but that's just making excuses in my opinion. Everyone makes the same excuse for bad behavior and it continues. All the way up the government ranks. When will everyone stop making excuses for bad behavior and change it? Everyone is waiting for someone else right?
