Gboliwe: Has got to be between commerce and shorthandShort Hand! So boring and outdated! |
As students in secondary school way back, we hated certain subjects and liked others. The dislike for such subjects would unfortunately extend to the teachers handling the subjects. My most hated subject was Financial Accounting and Book Keeping. Those lengthy financial statements about sales, credit, debit, etc gave me serious headache and fever...I got F9 in Account from SS1 to SS3 and I did not bother to register it in Waec because I knew what the result would have been. My Account teacher then made matters worse...she had this tiny voice that would make one mistake her for a 2 yr old baby...she was fond of reporting the 'Account Haters' to the principal who never failed to disturb our peace with loads of punishment. My most liked subject then was Government...secondary school days. Nairalanders, share yours. |

chingyjant: The only experience i had in the Barracks was during my NYSC days way back in 103 Barracks in Enugu.I spent about 6 months there after i was allocated an apartment.I can't really tell of the day to day lives of the Military men and their family or the Civilians that lives there cause we were warned to disassociate ourselves from them so as not to get into trouble and there was this fine babe i was eyeing badly but the girl was shy to come visit me in my room because their own block was opposite mine. But i press the girl bobby wella sha.Only God knows where that one go dey now. Then i dey promise am marriage as a bad guy na when won chop something. It was mad fun. With beautiful girls all over the place but you can't touch. And we heard these girls are cheerful givers but you just can't near them.I remember a night we had a serious fight with one korofo. There is this corper in our lodge that was actually going out with one of them so we had some issues with her.At the middle of the night the girl went to bring this dude to come pick us up.But my next door neighbor also a corper does not take sh.it.Immediately the Korofo opened his door while he was having a good time with his chick my guy provoke once.He gave the korofo the slap of his life and less than a minute we were crowded by many of them.Come see serious fight. That day i knew some soldiers are lazy in terms of fight. At the end we were all matched to the Adjutant's house that night and the officer in charge of corpers stood behind us if not we for see Oba that day.He told us we were too slow that we should have beaten the korofo blue black before others came. The guy get mouth being an Officer. That night we were threatened that we will be locked in the guard room because we had immunity as Corpers"Federal Government property".After much appeal from other officers we were told to apologize to the soldiers we tore their clothes.Apart from that there was a lot of bush meat allowance from the Army day sec. school for some of my fellow corp members. The small girls loose nor be small. There was still another time i had an issue with one officer that just came out from NDA who did'nt know i was a corper and wanted me to pick dirts on the floor. For were?I nor gree. When he later inquired who i was he now said now i see but i will get you another time.Come see as i take buga waka leave am.It was really fun.The Barrack was so dusty and filled with a lot of kids. The Officers were always claiming superiority over Korofo.I also do enjoy seeing soldiers come back from Peace mission and how their whole family go to wait for them when they alight from the buses that convey them.Military men are the most organised men i have ever seen. They live a regimented life.I hope to visit the place in the future shaO boy, u too dey lie! Lie go kill u! So una fight with officers of the Nigerian Army, na im wetin happen for Odi, Bayelsa State no happen to una? Go find KG3 pupils tell...or you go boil granites. |
mecinero: Thirteen ghostsBabe, no be lie...u dey watch horror flicks gan! |
Sometimes, my mind drifts back to doz days when some horror flicks made us catch goose Pimples...I still remember the first day I watched 'Zombie the Flesh Eater'. I couldn't go to the kitchen to drop my plates after eating...I thot one of doz rotten-looking fellows would just come out and bite off my neck! 'Zombie the Flesh Eater'...I really need to see dat stuff again. So, which horror flick made you catch goose Pimples? |
For some time now, I have been hearing people saying that commercial motorcycles, popularly called Okadas are coming back to Warri. A fat lady in a bus i boarded went as far as flagrantly insulting the bus driver, telling him that he would be sorry for himself when bikes finally surface again in Warri. This issue of bikes coming back is nothing but rumour. The most annoying part of it all is that most people that open their mouths to say this have not really done any investigation to see if it was true. They just open their mouths and speak; even the so-called educated people...graduates my foot! Fact: Bikes are NOT coming back...NO! NO! NO! Not now! If you have heard about it, ignore...it is a rumour! |
The manner in which some people practise their own version of Christianity makes me wonder! This applies mostly to the pentecostal groups. Why should somebody stay in church doing one thing or the other all in the name of working for the Lord all through the day, 7 days a week, 30/31 days of the month and 365 days of the year? These people don't go to work and most of them look so wretched. The funny thing is that their pastors who they seem to do 'eye service' for live better than them in all ramifications. God that created man commanded man to work...in Acts of the Apostles, Apostle Paul made it clear that 'he who does not want to work, let him not eat'. In Ecclesiastes, it is also made clear that there is time for everything. What this means is that there is time to be in church, whether sweeping or cleaning the premises, praying or what have you and still a time to be working so that you can earn money and take care of yourself and your loved ones. I know of a relation some years back who spent all her time in church, 24/7, 365 while others were working. Today, she can't even pay her bills - common light (PHCN) bills!!! Why do some Christians equate Christianity to Laziness? |

Most of my male friends always claim that it is not possible for them to beat their ladies no matter what...only few had admitted openly that they would do that when provoked to an extent. Some had admitted that they do it. I, myself, can't claim to be a saint...I once hit my girlfriend some years back for kicking me while we were arguing. I ask, what level of provocation will make you beat your girlfriend? |
