Yoruba people don't want to leave Nigeria; I've NEVER in my life met a Yoruba person that advocated for his or her peoples succession from Nigeria. Only Igbo people want to leave Nigeria, and it's Hausa-Fulani and Yoruba people that are keeping or rather forcing us to live with them.
Moreover, if he is serious about succession, he'll find an easy friend amongst Igbo people, seeing as most Igbo people hate Nigeria. |

Buhari is Fulani, so he's not too keen on killing his own people; he's defended his people on many occasions, even when they were blatantly in the wrong, so there's no surprise here. InyinyaAgbaOku: Carry your rag tag argument out of here. You want him to explain what warned is, but not about how Sb will be made to pay double for killing cows. It's your type that becomes our governor and bring hardship to the people. Yes, because it's an expression that could mean anything, warning...in what way, and how will a warning redress the issue? If I was governor I'd ban cattle grazing outright; but that's not what is being done here. Again, if he's not going to ban the practice, then he has to work out some kind of way of co-existing with them, which is what he's trying to do. He's not giving them land, he's simply saying "go over there, and don't bother anyone, and we'll ensure none of our people bother you". That's the position he's taken, whether or not I agree with it is irrelevant. |

It won't work and that's not what they're doing; they're not forcing anyone to be patriotic, they're fighting for their survival. whirlwind7: Let me dispassionately analyse your comments. First, he asked for a database. Now, be sincere. Do you actually believe whatever database he would get will be anywhere near the actual statistics of Fulani herdsmen in the state? For a people who are always on the move, who are illiterates, who don't have usable identification, who many of their counterparts are non Nigerians, and who would regard with utmost suspicion whatever action any authority that is non Fulani brings, and try to evade it.... That, my friend, is an exercise in futility. The herdsmen have representatives in the area, so yea, I do think such a database would be accurate. The rest of what you wrote is conjecture, I seriously doubt that many, if any of the Fulani in Biafra land are non-Nigerian. Umahi doesn't have the database of roadside vulcanisers in his state (which is a more verifiable feat) much less that of itinerant herdsmen who now believe they shouldn't answer to anyone other than Miyetti Allah.
Second, what makes you think they will isolate themselves strictly to the area allotted for grazing? Once the grasses have been consumed, can you bet your next paycheck they won't casually stroll with their cattle into adjoining lands? They'll do it to avoid conflict, given the current attitude and lack of tolerance people have towards them, it'd be in their best interest. Umahi said anyone who kills their cow would be made to pay double. But if the herdsmen destroy anyone's farm, the herdsmen would be "severely warned!" Can you beat that? What herdsman is going to break a sweat because Umahi warned him? Same governor wants to doubly punish his own people, but will only warn the aliens whenever conflicts arise. What sort of disparity is that? He also said they'd be forced out of the area, but no one really knows what's meant by "warned", we'd need to ask him to clarify that statement. When you see a potential source of trouble, the best move is to prevent it. Giving them lands to graze on is asking for trouble. Because they would take it that their activity has been backed by a form of legal authority. Asking them to vacate that land when they default would be the beginning of trouble. That's partly what led to the Agatu massacre. Umahi can't even provide lands free of charge for mechanised farms to his people. Give these folks an inch, and they would ask for a mile.
Seem even you have never learnt any lesson from history. You don't act politically correct to a people who don't practice your own sort of politics. The state isn't giving them land, they're simply choosing not to outlaw their activities. So as long as what they do is legal in the state, an arrangement must be made, which will see to the prevention of any potential conflicts in the future. |

davear: The type of news emanating from south east is disheartening. I have said it before that our governors are very dumb. Just read the reactions of Ebonyi state governor ( the chairman of southeast governors forum ) concerning the herdsmen
www.nairaland.com/4339628/umahi-authorizes-creation-cattle-grazing
He directed the people to donate their personal land to the herdsmen:
He urged the traditional rulers and other concerned authorities to agree on grazing locations with the herdsmen where they would be restricted for their grazing activities.
He even promised to provide amenities for the herdsmen and their cattle:
“I will provide amenities such as water in such locations because the state government does not have the resources for ranching"
Just when we think these men are getting sense, they ll just pull a dumb move. How many states will donate free lands to southeasterner to run their private business?
It wont be long before our governor ll do same. Last time the herdsmen killed our people he went to abuja and was shining his teeth with the president.
If we must progress, the southeastern governors must come together and fight towards massive industrial and infrastructural development. We must be united with one goal - development. Not when one state is rejecting open grazing, another is accepting them with open arms; one is fighting for restructuring, while the other is against it. The human capital flight in southeast adigo too much, and development ll be very slow if this continues. The first step towards improving our human development index is by not voting dumb governors. Would you rather he banned it outright? Because I don't see anything wrong here, he's asking for a database of all the herders, and is ensuring they don't come into conflict with anyone in the state. They won't own any land nor will their presence bother anyone, providing they stick to those designated areas. When those areas are required, for development then I'd imagine the herders would be forced to move. |

Yes, the Nigerian government led by the most humble leader Nigeria will ever have was corrupt. While that may or may not be true your people fuelled by testosterone went on a roid rage and decided murdering northern leaders was the way to go. Because there were no corrupt southern leaders? That's ignoring the fact that you resorted to violence and massacred our leaders.
With all the hate speech your elected "leader" was dishing out the quit notice was given by a group misdirected youths most northerners were against as was evident in some of the protests showing support for your people.
Your brothers were recently singling out northerners in buses to attack them just a few months ago.
I assure If, If there's a general meeting for northerners the igbos will not be on the agenda. It doesn't matter, the past is the past, whether it was 10 years ago or 1,000 years ago, it's still the past. Like a rags to riches story, if you're rich, you're rich, only sad individuals would seek solace in the fact that he/she was once poor, because it's irrelevant. I'm not 100% that you have reading comprehension issues or maybe you're just don't know your history. But the coup was organised by Nigerians from every part of the country. Northern politicians were killed by Northern military soldiers, likewise politicians in the West, the key politicians in the East were simply fortunate, that's why they were not killed. What protesters showing support? Didn't hear no such thing. Didn't some of your people make a genocide song about Igbo people. The Igbo Quit Notice was triggered by Igbo people remembering the Biafra War, that's it. Yea, after your Northern President sent the military to Igboland to murder people; we may be nice people, but we have limits, you know - we value life, unlike some people. blackpanthers: My friend, I have been to almost all part Anambra state and I can't see these big companies that you are talking about. Anambra is a very small state that can be fitted comfortably into Kano Municipal or Ibadan city, so, how can you compare such state with a state like Kano state that is 3 times bigger in land mass and population?
An average Yoruba man is an artisan (carpenter, auto mechanics, bricklayer), and an average Hausa man is a farmer, honest laborer, bricklayer, trader etc which is better?
That explains why the internally generated revenue of Kano state is bigger than that of Anambra state Anambra is a small state in what sense? You're talking about actual land mass? Well, you can fit the United Kingdom into Borno State, does that mean Borno State is what...I don't understand the point you're making. Igboland is one of the most densely populated parts of the continent. A trader makes more money than all of those people. Well, Kano State has close to 10+ million people in it, Anambra has 4 million, so yea, it should have a larger economy. Economic size is irrelevant, per capita income is more important, it's the size of the economy in proportion to its population that matters most. |

blackpanthers: How can people you claimed to have a lower educational attainment rate than yours or your ethnic group be in a position to shaping the public perception of your country to hate a supposed more educated and superior group?
The North is bigger, it has more people than easterner Nigeria normally they should have more allocation than the east because they have more challenges due to their size, it is logical if they received more revenue than southeastern states. With respect to corruption, we can't really say that one ethnic group is more corrupt than others because majority of Nigerians politicians are corrupt irrespective of religion or ethnicity Because the system of governance in Nigeria has always been based on might is right. Northerners dominated the military and thus, used their might to take over the reigns of power - not so difficult to understand, is it? The North is bigger, has more people, it has the potential for a larger economy. It doesn't need handouts, it needs social reorientation. The mindset of the people needs to be modernised, altered to one that is more conducive for Western Civilisation. The North will be receiving allocations forever, and with nothing to show for it, at this rate. We can, by looking at the levels of poverty in the North and contrasting it with other areas; moreover, traditional Northerner culture encourages corruption, because it's feudal in nature. |

A weak attempt at drawing self esteem from things that no longer matter. You're knowledge of Nigeria's history is quite sketchy. Nigeria's first government was corrupt, immensely corrupt; moreover, Nigeria's problems have very little to do with that single coup. It had more to do with what happened after it. The counter coup, the pogroms, the civil war...all of which were unnecessary, but were carried out anyway, because of what...a blood lust, but you guys failed, because Igbo people have recovered and surpassed you. Yep, I'm 100% certain you guys think about us, a great deal actually. That Igbo Quite Notice was quite concise, it at the very least, required deep venomous thought to put together. blackpanthers: Nigeria is generally a poor nation and since a majority of the population resides in what we call Northern Nigeria you should expect to see more poor people from the North and also be prepared to see more wealthy people from the same region. I don't think Igbos are better in business, I will say they have this mentality of worshiping money and wealth more than all other ethnic groups in Nigeria. an average Igbo man is a petty trader, which is a good survival technique but anything higher than that they don't have the patience to pull it off.
look at startups companies in Nigeria, which ethnic groups dominate the sector? look at big multinational companies owns by Nigerians, which ethnic groups dominates the sector? look at the financial sector of the economy, which ethnic group dominates the sector?
Informal buying and selling is only a fragment of the actual business activities in Nigeria Most wealthy people in Nigeria are Igbo, most Northerners are poor; wealthy Northerners are rare, that is the reality. Igbo people like money just as much as anyone else. Igbo culture is achievement originated, that's why Igbo people work so hard to fulfil laid out goals; money is simply the reward. An average Igbo man is a petty trader, an average Northerner and Yoruba man is a beggar; which is better? I don't know, go to Anambra (where I'm from), there are tons of indigenous company owners there. Multinationals...you can count on one hand the number of Nigerian multinationals that exist. In most cases, government concessions are required for a company to reach such levels, Igbo people have been kept out of the throes of leadership for 50 years now. Despite that, we still have many large companies that are thriving, despite government harassment *cough *cough Innoson. What do northerners make? Again another evidence of staying in one village in aba all your life. Go to any market in kano, any shoe or bag or leather products. Ask where it is made. Im using leather products because theyre more obvious. Again just because we are not bragging about these things all over the place doesn't mean we dont.
The only problem the north has right now is education and it solves all the issues you mentioned. Yet somehow with all your education you have managed to be the most hated people in the world, because in general you're so repulsive but always trying to over sell your "accomplishments". Every bad thing Nigerians are hated for stems from your wretched kind. So much so that I never tell anyone in any country that I'm Nigerian in fear of being associated with you unholy lot. Again all of this is with your so called "education".
What's the cause of this? Its in your DNA small fry. You're natural savages who will still be in forest if it weren't for the Brits. You singlehandedly ruined Nigeria's political landscape in 1966 and every bad thing that has happened in our political sphere hails from that'. You're made of bile envy and hatred and is evident in your testosterone fuelled jumpy loud activities. You are boastful ungrateful and cocky yet your stupidity knows no bounds.
I am confident education can cure the north of it's ills, but nothing can cure you because you're cursed. Stuck in barren land with unproductive self hating good for nothing scoundrels running all over the place. What's that? Northern logic? LMAO! So because we're more educated that means we have more business people. Do you need an education to go into business? Are Yoruba people not educated? Yes, do they establish businesses as the same rate as Igbo people? No. The educational level of a group, nation or people has very little to do with their propensity to establish a business; it's more cultural than anything else. Yes, I know, they make or made textiles; well at least you guys have clothes to wear. No one hates us, I don't know if you're aware of this (because of your obvious low reading level), but Nigeria and the perception of Nigeria has been shaped primarily by Northerners. The perception of a people, is typically shaped by their country, and the perception of a country is shaped by its leaders. Northerners have led Nigeria the longest, and they're the ones that imparted corruption, political assassinations, and various other vices on the rest of us. It's comical to say the least, you infer that we're more corrupt than you guys, despite the fact that you guys have received far more money over the past several decades, from government coffers, and more government favouritism and patriotism...in short, the North is the most corrupt part of the country, and it is what makes Nigeria as a whole look hopeless. We're made of hatred, yet, you're the ones that kill us - what's that, more Northern logic. If you despise us so much, then campaign for Biafra, stop suffering from cognitive dissonance. It'll take you guys at least 100 years, to get where Igbo people are today. |

blackpanthers: This is a lazy stereotype. To begin with, a majority of the big-time businessmen in Kano are of Hausas ethnicity the same way a majority of big-time businessmen in Onitsha are Igbos or those in Ibadan are Yorubas. it is natural for people from a particular locality to dominate the economic activities of such locality
Igbos and all immigrant world over always move to a better society where there are opportunities not available in their old location or homeland, that explain the reasons behind Igbo migration to Kano state, it means Kano is doing well economically, it means Kano has the opportunities not available in their homeland or previous location. All these points to a prosperous kano, with a very healthy economic and very accommodative native, that warmly welcome economic refuge from the east.
You are not any Kano native a favor by moving your retailing outlet to their region, in fact, you are systematically stealing from them and repatriating such back home to build your mansion in your village, income that you didn't pay a kobo in tax for. You can easily be replaced by the indigenous population because buying and selling is not rocket science Lazy stereotype? What are you talking about? NIGERIA IS A COUNTRY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Igbo people moving to Kano is NOT immigration, Igbo people are not immigrants in Kano. They are NATIVES OF NIGERIA. Are you being serious right now? Stealing money from where and repatriating...really, come on, you must be joking. Look, NIGERIA is one country, and as one country, NIGERIAN people have the right to travel to any part of it and live. If you don't like that, then campaign for Biafra or something, but as long as Nigeria remains a single entity, the people that live within it will forever have the right to live wherever within its borders. A Northerner moving to Onitsha is NOT an immigrant nor would they be stealing any wealth, if they used the money they made there to build a home in Kano, because it's the same country! Likewise for a Igbo person in Kano. The whole premise of your argument is flawed. |
