CelebritiesRe: Queenette Awuka, Cross River Most Beautiful Girl Releases Stunning Photos by Redman44(m): 11:03am On Oct 14, 2015
She is not that Pretty. I don't know the criteria with which she was chosen as Cross River's Most Beautiful Girl, but she does not make my standard for 'Very Pretty' or 'Very Beautiful'. Maybe she was chosen based on her intelligence and eloquence. She is average when it comes to judging her by her looks and body. Cheers.
PoliticsRe: Nigeria's 'brown Envelope' Journalists - Aljazeera by Redman44(m): 11:14am On Sep 14, 2015
One thing I can say about studying Journalism and History ( BA Degree ) is that it has helped me to become a very good researcher and businessman. I can research deeply and come out with unknown information about any topic under the sun. And if you are a good researcher, there is no way you won't make money if you dabble into Business smiley smiley smiley smiley smiley. I have seen Journalists in Nigeria who own Businesses and only use their Newspapers and Magazines to source for clients. Some of the most successful businessmen in Nigeria have worked as reporters and staff writers with the likes of Punch, Vanguard, The Guardian etc and Magazines like National Encomium, The News, TELL etc. Going out on your beat as a pressman allows you to see a lot of things. You get to meet a lot of people and interview them about what they are doing. You get to know how they build their wealth or run their companies, studios etc. If you are a smart journalist, you can start networking from there.

Journalists can become successful in anything they take a fancy in. The newsroom is just their ticket to greater platforms of success. Cheers.

Hmn. I am happy that I was eventually denied the opportunity of working for THISDay Newspapers back in 2006. I did all I could to ensure that I got a job with any of the major newspapers and magazines in Nigeria, but I was always rebuffed or they would collect my CV and nothing would come out of it. Before 2006, I had some knowledge about the workings of the Nigerian Media- I knew Journalists ( except a minute percentage ) in Nigeria were poorly paid and had to rely on money they made from interviewing celebrities, businessmen and politicians. As at 2006, I had a colleague working at THE NEWS Newspapers who was being paid 22,000 Naira monthly. And this guy was very intelligent. We graduated from the Nigerian Institute of Journalism ( NIJ ) at the same time. Many journalists survive by having Fashion Columns or Pages, Entertainment Pages etc that they use as PR Fronts for Celebrities, Artistes, Footballers etc. When they interview these celebrities, the celebs give them envelopes of money ( From 3000 Naira to 20,000 Naira ) as transport fare back to their offices. So if a journalist receives about 15 brown envelopes a Month, the guy or lady can take care of a a family cool cool cool cool cool cool cool.

I am happy I am doing something else today and I am happy in the country I live in. I thank God for everything.
InvestmentRe: What To Do With 2.5 Million Naira by Redman44(m): 5:56am On Sep 05, 2015
Best Advice so far. Kudos@360 Command.
360command:
@ fucklikant101, rent a shop elsewhere, go to lagos and buy laptops (new or old), stock your shop and sell.

2) Go to lagos, bcom a mini dealer for a specified android phone ( huawei), sell it in another state where your shop is.

3) Buy mobile phone accessories| computer accessories and sell elsewhere.

Note: never underestimate online marketing, u never can tell where your buyers are coming from.

4) Set up strategic locations, employ immigrant workers, get a beautified canopy, buy barbecue stand where you can smoke TILAPIA FISH, in it, create a spicy sauce or stew, serve in take away pack; make sure you use white poly bag so as when customers carry it , they carry with confidence. If Tilapia is not available, find other alternatives like pork frying, smoking mutton(just like suya)..replicate it in different zones

5) Think of agric food supply business. Hit lagos market. Eg: find out when food are coming into lagos, if it is onion, yam, egg, etc.. Buy from the trailer, arrange your stock, load them in your transport vehicle , store in a warehouse(store room).. Pls do ur research on what state or area to sell it or supply to..

In life, we may not have the skill or talent but we have the money to start a business, some of these guys ve the skils but dey ve no money to start up. Think out of the box; use people who have talent, skills and make money out of them. Become an employer.

There r people who can sew, repair cars, do woodwork etc... Create a company, it shud ve a name,a brand,a logo.. Employ a few in whatever sector, monitor watch your business grow.. Imagine u buying a small piece of land, creating an auto workshop with a name attached to it. Many habokis come to the south everyday in search of jobs, even if you put a fraction of your money to 10 haboki; buy wheel barrows, buy vegetables, food and stock their wheel barrow so that they can sell for you.. Every 100 naira one haboki brings to you as profit in a day multiply by 10 haboki is a 1000 naira by 30 days would give you 30k naira is something..

Don't rush, just take your time, find out what best that suites you. Trust me,it is easy for you to spend the money carelessly to those business who have set-up for people like you to spend your cash. If you don't act, you can't make money.

I'm just letting you all into this little secret......

My Aunt ( My Mum's elder sister ) was married to the Great-grandson of King Jaja of Opobo. My Aunt's husband was also named Jaja and he was very wealthy till he passed away around 1991 or thereabout. I can still remember the gift he bought for me on my 10th birthday. It was a great gift that I am still finding it hard to see something similar to it nowadays. Chief Jaja ( Aunt's husband ) had houses in Lagos and Opobo and was a high ranking official in the Nigerian Customs Service. That is all I am allowed to reveal to you. Cheers.

Billions, Billions being mentioned on a daily basis, yet no improvement in the standard of living of many Nigerians. What is really happening to all these Billions of Naira being made by Government Parastatals and Departments? Are we saying they are being used to pay staff salaries? or what sad sad sad? Good for him. However, what I would love to see are the business ventures Adebayor is into. We Black People are fond of concentrating our wealth on liabilities and things that do not increase in value. Cars and Vehicles will decrease in value on a daily basis. Businesses and Property will increase in value. I would love to see Factories in Togo owned by Sheyi Adebayor. What is his investment portfolio? That is what I am really interested in. Cheers.

I am not yet 40 years old but I know about Goody Goody Sweet and Bazooka Joe chewing gum. Bazooka Joe chewing gum was the BOMB back in the 80's to around 1990 or so. From 1991, Bazooka Joe gum seemed to have disappeared from shops and mallam aboki cubicles in Nigeria cry cry cry cry. I don't know about Dandy Chewing gum though. I never heard of it. There was one chewing gum like that that was designed like Bazooka Joe chewing gum. It had a red wrapper and had cartoons of Cowboys and Indians inside it. I think the name of the chewing gum was Bunny Chewing gum or so. I hope I am right. Sumal Foods in Ibadan is still making the chewing gum the OP is talking about. The OP's chewing gum is a recent product. Cheers.

Robot chewing gum is produced by Sumal Foods in Ibadan. This chewing gum is still in existence and is mostly sold by Mallams in their small kiosks. I remember buying it from a Mallam at Ajao Estate late last year. Bazooka Joe gum was the best though and I won't be surprised if it is still being sold in some parts of Nigeria. There was one chewing gum like that- it had cartoons of Cowboys and Indians placed into the inner part of the wrapper. I loved that chewing gum die cheesy cheesy cheesy cheesy cheesy. The Cowboy and Indians were always engaged in battles in the cartoons. Who remembers the name of the chewing gum? Help me, out smiley smiley smiley smiley.

TravelRe: Illegal Immigrant: My Near Death And Terrible Experience In Malaysia by Redman44(m): 11:47am On Jun 21, 2015
I have been following this thread since yesterday. Well, I have not travelled to Malaysia before, but I have two Malaysian guys who are my friends in the country I live in. They are brothers and they happen to have a British Father. So they have British Passports too and I met them in England. They are nice guys and they told me that they had a teacher back in Malaysia who was Nigerian. They also asked me about Nigeria's Palm Oil Industry and they agreed that Nigeria taught Malaysia the art of Palm Oil Production and Cultivation. These guys are Malaysian-Chinese but their Dad is British ( European )- My friends look 80% Chinese due to their Mother being an ethnic Chinese-Malaysian.

Generally, I don't support illegal immigration. It is not a good thing being an illegal immigrant. The hassle is just too much. Cheers.
PoliticsRe: Unemployed, Poor Nigerians To Get N5000 Monthly – FG by Redman44(m): 2:20pm On Jun 15, 2015
The Buhari Administration is trying to create a culture of dependency in Nigeria. I don't support giving 5000 Naira to Unemployed and Poor Nigerians monthly. It is a very wrong move. I trust Nigerians sad sad sad sad sad. People will start claiming the money in different States of the country with false identities and in collusion with the people disbursing the 5000 Naira itself shocked shocked shocked. No be Naija People? Or have Nigerians changed suddenly grin grin grin grin grin?

I see Nigerians that are even employed or underemployed scrambling to get their monthly 5000 Naira by all means. Who no like awoof money? The Federal Government should not start a Project it cannot sustain in the long run. Alhaji Aregbesola is there for us to learn from. Why can't Buhari's Government focus on creating an enabling environment by providing solid energy and electricity in the country? Nigerians will sort themselves out as soon an enabling environment is created for them to operate in. Buhari should extend the train tracks to the interior parts of the country and purchase more train carriages. Transportation to the interior of Nigeria ( The Farm Settlements in our interior towns and villages ) is really needed so that food would not be getting spoilt before they get to the cities of Nigeria. The Nigerian Postal Service can be transformed to create more jobs for Nigerians. How about investing in the infrastructure of NIPOST so that letters and parcels can be delivered to Nigerians in their homes? Abeg, Baba Buhari should dump this idea of dashing out 5000 Naira to Unemployed Nigerians monthly. The National treasury is not even healthy at the moment. It is very SICK. Cheers.
SportsRe: Eniola Aluko To Play For England In 2015 World Cup (pictured) by Redman44(m): 10:15am On May 13, 2015
Eniola Aluko has been living in England since she was 1 year old. You can't move to England as a toddler, spend so many years there and find it easy to play for Nigeria, especially when England approaches you to play for her ladies team. Female football is still developing in England, and Eniola Aluko represents the Black percentage in the team. Besides, she is not a bad player cool cool cool. That is why she is playing for Chelsea FC Women's Squad. Like someone said, the facilities in England are superb. There are so many female footballers in Nigeria who are talented, so we should not worry too much about Eniola. Cheers.
TravelRe: Recent Beautiful Pictures Of Ibadan - The Pride Of SW. by Redman44(m): 12:15pm On May 09, 2015
Nice Pictures cheesy cheesy cheesy. However, what we should be talking about is the state of the common man in Oyo State. It is nice to post pictures that will make people assume Ibadan is a Mini-Paradise, but what is the living standard of the average Ibadan resident? Are the homes in Ibadan receiving potable water supply from the Oyo State Water Corporation? Are there good public libraries in the State? Can 85% of Ibadan Residents afford 3 Rich Square meals a day? Are people knowledgeable enough to know how to eat balanced diets on a daily basis? In Europe, even the worst looking houses have access to potable water, electricity and rubbish removal by the local councils. Can we say the same about Ibadan and Oyo State?

How many Ibadan Residents can afford the goods and products being sold in all these malls springing up there? How many Ibadan Residents are earning at least 30,000 Naira per month? What are the statistics of good living in Ibadan? On Healthcare, apart from UCH, how many Ibadan Residents can afford the bills at Hospitals and Clinics in the City?

I believe we need to dwell more on these issues I have mentioned than posting pictures alone. Cheers.

You don't assume power based on the change mantra and yet build the foundation of your new government based on the changed government. Its a slap on the people who voted the new government into power.

Common sense is not common afterall.
Hmn. And what are the new 'Changes' that the APC/Buhari Government will be bringing to the table? Look all over Nigeria and see the various projects being worked on. How developed was the Nigerian economy under Ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo who has now suddenly become a saint in the eyes of many people in Nigeria? And in Lagos State, how many policies of the APC Government are directly touching the masses and making a significant impact in their lives? Can we honestly score Fashola 60% in all he has done in Lagos State? I am saying this because I was in Lagos some months ago and I know what I saw there. I would have loved it if all those newly built housing estates in Lagos are rented out to low income earners in the State with options for them to pay their rent monthly. I would have loved it functional libraries were built in each Local Government of Lagos State. These Libraries should have internet access with about 20 Flat Screen computers in each of them. And the libraries should be stocked with the latest books and audio-visual aids which would help reduce the failure rate of WAEC/SSCE Candidates in the state. Cheers.

RomanceRe: Why Your Boyfriend May Not Be In A Hurry To Become Your Husband by Redman44(m): 8:28pm On Apr 15, 2015
I feel it is the lack of motivation on the part of most ladies nowadays to create extra sources of revenue, that makes men postpone marriage. Many women are 100% reliant on their husbands even if they are earning their own money. What they don't understand is that some men detest unambitious ladies. I don't know why the belief that men should cater for their wives 100% still holds. In today's world, couples must pull their resources together to create a financially sound marriage. Wives should be able to get some things done on the home front without requesting money from their husbands. Then the issue of women coming from poor families or the case of greedy Mother-In-Laws is another problem Men face in Marriage. I just believe Nigerian wives should be very honest with themselves. What are you bringing to the table in your marriage? Must you expect your husband to do everything for you all the time lipsrsealed lipsrsealed lipsrsealed lipsrsealed lipsrsealed? Why are you not using your brain in profitable and honest ventures to make more money for the family you are raising with your husband? Cheers.

I don't really care about Ambode's educational background or qualifications. I don't care about the experience he has or who his Godfather is. As long as the People of Lagos State are still not feeling the real dividends of democracy, then Project Ambode has a lot of work in its hands. There are still many parts of Lagos State that look like ruins from a war zone. Many roads in Lagos are still not tarred. Many People in Lagos are still homeless and the Estates being built by the Fashola Administration have been priced out of their reach. Corruption is still a big issue in Lagos State and I am yet to see the ordinary people of Lagos State being really touched by the policies of the Fashola Government. Cheers.
