Spylord48:Hi, just the normal way you update your CV. Log into your LinkedIn account and go to your Profile. Go to the skills section and type in the skills you have acquired- fixing laptops, Desktops, software installment etc. It is not Rocket Science, My Brother. Cheers. |
You don't need to envy these people. All you need is to get close to them and see if you can benefit from them by doing business with them. I mean, you can sell products and goods to them. Just study them and see what they love to wear or their favourite snacks or something. Or the kind of fashion accessories they use. Then market your products to them. You can't lose by selling things to the elite. You can also make them Patrons or Chairwomen of your Organization. One way or the other you can eat your share of the National Cake by selling something to the Elite of Nigeria- A Product or Service. Cheers . |

Nothing beats learning a skill and having handwork abilities. My father attended a technical school in the late 60's to early 70's. He learnt Carpentry and had his Company and workshop. My dad sent 7 of us ( his children ) to school up to University level with his Carpentry business. And dad was a very good Carpenter that he even made furniture for Embassies of other countries in Nigeria. Today, Carpentry is becoming a very lucrative trade in Nigeria if you know what you are doing. Many teenagers don't need to attend University or Polytechnics these days. They should look into attending Technical Colleges where they can gain skills for life. Going to a Technical College or Vocational School does not mean you won't be able to measure up with your age mates. They might have paper qualifications, but you have technical qualifications and hand work skills which can bring you money on a daily basis, if you can advertise your services well. Cheers. |
Does anyone have the information I am requesting for? Do you have a registered company in Nigeria that pays tax and has a tax identification number? And also registered with FIRS? Please let me hear from you. Thanks. If you are a specialist in Form M, please let me hear from you. Thanks. |
Hello, I need the help of forum members concerning obtaining Form M for importation purposes. I want to import a food processing machine into Nigeria. I have read about the Form requirements. What does the Form M procedures really entail? I don't have a registered company in Nigeria. So how do I go about it? I am not based in Nigeria at the moment though I have Business interests in the country. Can anyone explain how I can import my food processing machines into Nigeria without any problems with the Nigerian Customs Service? I need advice from people who have used Form M to import goods into Nigeria . Do you help in getting Form M and processing it? How do I go about getting the Form M from Nigerian Banks? Nairalanders, please let me hear from you. Thanks . |
Dething:Best advice so far on this thread ![]() |
Thundersub was originally a Japanese Anime titled 'Yamato, The Submarine'. You can watch Yamato on Youtube too and you will see that Thundersub was an adaptation from Yamato ![]() |

This is the Vehicle Voltron which was shown on some Nigerian TV Stations for a short while but was not popular with Nigerian kids in the 80's. What do you think?
|
Omo This thread is wonderful. Takes me back to my childhood days. LTV was really competing with NTA 2 Channel 5 and NTA Channel 10 to win our hearts with Cartoons. LTV showed us Thundersub ( which I believe is a great story and Cartoon ), Speed Racer and other Bird Man. NTA 2 Channel 5 and NTA Channel 10 showed Super Ted, Voltron ( NTA Channel 10 and NTA 2 Channel 5 showed Voltron on different days of the week ), Sesame Street, Danger Mouse ( LTV aired Danger Mouse too ). We should not forget that there were two versions of Voltron back in the days- Voltron with 5 Lions and Vehicle Voltron ( This Voltron was made up of different space cars containing many space explorers ). Cheers. |
@ Everyone, thanks for your comments. My mind is at rest now ![]() |
Flexherbal:Thanks, Sir. I have been following the building of the factory since we started in November 2017. I have now resolved to be more concerned with the quality of materials used from now on. Though I compare prices of building materials when I receive quotes from the supervisor ( My mum ), I want to take a harder approach concerning the project. I will personally interview any new worker on the site handling other aspects of the project. I want to hear the views of other people concerning the holes in the walls . |
Hello everyone, thanks for your threads and comments in the Property Section of this great site. So I am building a Factory in Ikorodu, Lagos, Nigeria. We have reached the level stage and the pillars have been casted. I am not physically on ground to monitor this project. My mum is in charge of it. However, while looking at pictures I received today via email, I noticed that there were a lot of holes on the walls, both inside and outside. I am thinking the concrete blocks are not of a high quality and I am not happy about the holes. However, the supervisor said the holes came about because of the ladders or wood placed on the walls as the Bricklayers laid the blocks from level to level. What do you think is happeneing ? I have attached some pictures so you can see what I am talking about. I need some advice from you and what can be done to cover the holes. 9 inch concrete blocks have been used for the whole project. Please let me hear from you. Thanks.

But we need to see pictures of the Factory floor, the toilets, the offices, the control room, staff changing rooms, equipment, production machines and production lines, car park, rubbish disposal areas etc. What kind of journalism is this? |
There are many things to do besides frying akara that can bring in money on a daily basis. With a population of 170+ Million people, Nigeria is a fertile ground for entrepreneurs who know what they are doing. It is possible to make more than 150,000 naira monthly frying and selling akara. It is possible. Do you know how much Buka operators make on a monthly basis? do you know how much can be made from a bag of beans in the akara business? People will eat and there are many workers coming back from work that will stop by to buy akara that they intend to eat at home with bread or soak garri with ![]() |
chaerman:China does the same thing. The Chinese copy models of US Products and mass produce them. The Japanese also started by copying things from other countries. Innoson is really trying. As time goes on, they will have their own designs of Cars. Let Nigerians start creating things by copying things they see on TV and the internet. As time goes on, we will have our own unique designs. Cheers. |
Many guys are building homes and factories in different parts of Nigeria and they are discreet about it ![]() So what Victor Anichebe is doing is not extraordinary. He should have completed the house before announcing its existence to the world. People should learn to be discreet about their activities these days. Your progress can cause your best friend to hate you, sometimes. ![]() |
pDudd:I was about to say the same thing too. Yes, he was a Pastor of one of the Christian fellowships during his and my undergraduate days at the University of Ibadan. I have sat under his ministration at least once and he is a very nice person. Yes, he is Pastor Dele Osunmakinde. Cheers. |
Instead of Ezeemo, Channels TV should have invited Yul Edochie of the DPC to the debate. I don't know why Yul was not invited, and I pray that the decision to overlook Yul for the debate would come back to bite the organizers of this debate in the buttocks. Yul Edochie could easily garner enough votes to cause an upset in the election on the 18th of November. Lets wait and See . |
Anthony Joshua should be very careful I am not saying he should not be friendly towards the Otedolas but he needs to stick to his principles. He has a lot of fights ahead of him and he needs to be in top shape. The world of professional boxing is a Dog eat Dog World. I don't see anything special in DJ Cuppy, by the way . There are many other boxers now who want to pull Anthony Joshua down and make him look ordinary. A sportsman has to be in top shape. Besides, it looks the careers of guys that date DJ Cuppy goes down the drain as soon as they start dating. |
erico2k2:The wages in most professions in the UK across the cities are not too different. I know what I am saying. Except in some Industries like IT ( Sheffield is the UK's capital for IT ) and Oil Industry and its numerous service jobs. As a teacher, you can earn more outside London as a Freelance or Contract Staff. Then it is far cheaper to live in Cities like Birmingham, Nottingham, Manchester and Liverpool. Bristol is just like London. Bristol is very expensive to live in. However, I am talking about being a 'Hand Work' person and running a service of your own. People are talking about Bank Managers and white collar jobs. Do you know how much a self employed painter earns in the UK? Or how much Carpenters earn on Contracts as self employed tradesmen? TRADESMEN are the ones balling big time in the UK, USA and Canada because they are mostly self regulated. If you are a TRADESMAN, learn to keep your mouth shut. Cheers. |
London is a very expensive city to live in. Unless you are an Investment Banker, Property Rentals Guru or Russian/Chinese Billionaire, you need to run away from London and head to the West Midlands or Liverpool or Manchester. And if you are skilled in Carpentry, Plumbing, Electrical Services or you are a qualified Gas Engineer, you will make loads of money and will live a rich but quiet life. The truth is 'Hand Work' pays better than office work in the UK, USA and Canada or many western nations if you know what you are doing and can keep your mouth shut. If you can keep your mouth shut about the money handed to you in CASH by your clients, you will last a long time in the 'Hand Work' lifestyle. Cheers. |
@hoodari Richmond is a wealthy area of London. So accommodation there will be expensive. Intelligent Nigerians who know what they want to achieve in the UK live in Cities like Birmingham, Coventry and Liverpool. And they work as Carpenters, Plumbers and Gas Engineers. Some of them own Private cleaning companies. You can laugh if you want to but these people are making more money than office workers in the UK, minus the Investment Bankers . |
It depends on the City you live in the UK. You can do very well if you live in Cities like Birmingham and Liverpool and you understand how to make money intelligently. And I am not talking about engaging in fraudulent activities o . |

One thing People need to realize is that there is a difference between Running a Business to take care of immediate needs, and Running a Business to make profit and grow into a larger company. Ideally, if you have not expanded your business two years after starting out, then you are just running your business to take care of yourself and family. You should have employed 2-3 people after two years in Business. And it is not about the economy. It is more about your target market and innovation in your Business. Cheers. |
If you are not disciplined with money and time, you can't run any of the Businesses listed by the OP successfully. A lot of people are already running many of the businesses mentioned but a good number of them are not really successful entrepreneurs. You can't be running a business and spending profits made on bills, transport fare etc. How many people actually reinvest profits and money made into the business? so there is the need to be disciplined and have a good business plan. |
uncleck:You are one of the reasons why Nigeria is where it is now. ![]() Do you think it is everyone that wants to build homes without green spaces? The poster's uncle is doing something good and worthy of emulation and you are saying he should go into mechanized agriculture . Garden farms like this is what Nigeria needs to reduce the price of foodstuff. Cheers. |
This man should charge 50 naira per crossing for this task. The 20 Naira is too small. And he should go and get a Wellington boot ( 2nd hand or new ). There is nothing wrong with what he is doing. He just wants to put food on his table. If more Nigerians are thinking creatively, this country will be the better for it. |
