Madam Kofo was 'Madam De Madam' in Basi and Company, shey?

I hope I am right. Madam Kofo was also in 'Second Chance' which was a Sitcom about Adult Education. 'Second Chance' was also Popular in the Mid to Late 80's on NTA Network. I have attached the picture of Madam Kofo here. Cheers.

@dasparrow, you mentioned homosexual activities in Boarding schools in Nigeria, but you failed to mention that many students grow out of it after secondary school if they attended a Boys or Girls only School. Many Nigerian students do grow out of homosexual or lesbian tendencies after secondary school. Yes, fornication and adultery is rampant in Nigeria like other parts of the world, but in Nigeria, churches, mosques and other religious institutions speak against it, unlike in the West where you might be charged to court for airing your views about LGBT People. There are more divorces and child molestation cases in the West than in Africa. Cheers.
CelebritiesRe: Sade Adu's transitioning Lesbian Daughter: Before & After Photos by Redman44(m): 6:35pm On Apr 11, 2016
Hmn, you have made some good points. I believe Sade should have remained connected to Africa though she left there at a younger age. There are other Biracial children that that still espouse African values though they grew up in Europe or North America. I don't believe an excuse should be made for Ila's transformation because Sade's Dad ( Professor Adu ) did not hang around long after her birth. We have Ayo Ogunmakin ( Who has a Nigerian Father and Romanian Mother. And Ayo grew up in Germany ) who has turned out to be a responsible woman. We have others like her who are bringing up their own kids properly in the West. So I don't believe the lack of a Nigerian Father Figure should be totally used as the reason why children like turn out to be what they have become. Cheers.

FYI, I don't support Fornication and Adultery. Cheers.
dasparrow:
Here is what you need to keep in mind. Sade's parents divorced when she was just 2 years old. Her mother who is an English woman then took Sade and her brother back to the UK where they both grew up. I doubt that Sade's father - who is a Nigerian - played any role in her upbringing after Sade's mother took Sade and her brother back to the UK. Hence, Sade has no strong ties to Nigeria especially cultural ties since she left Nigeria as a toddler at age 2. Why then would you think that it will occur to Sade to sent her only child Ila to Nigeria, a country that even she Sade is not so familiar with since she did not grow up here in Nigeria?

Culturally speaking, Sade is NOT Nigerian. She left Nigeria at a very tender age. She is culturally British and so is her daughter Ila whose father is Jamaican. So don't expect Sade or her offspring to adhere to any African culture or tradition because Sade was brought up by her white mother in England after her parents split.

This is a lesson for all those Nigerian-bred men who marry white women and after procreating with them, don't stick around in the marriage to instill African cultural values in their biracial offspring. At the end of the day, no one should be surprised if the child grows up and is not culturally African.

That said, homosexuality has nothing to do with culture and tradition. Anyone who grew up in Nigeria and attended boarding school in this country can testify to the many homosexual activities that take place in our same-gender boarding schools across the country. So this has nothing to do with being African. There are transgender and homosexual people in all racial groups and nationalities around the world.

Lastly, and this is just my stance, I wish Nigerians will condemn fornication and adultery which is very rampant in Nigerian society like they condemn homosexuality. I say this because fornicators and adulterers will not make heaven if they don't practice true repentance before they are called home to God. I also wish Nigerians will show outrage towards pedophiles who have sex with children and destroy the lives of children but sadly, Nigerians would rather tolerate a pedophile than tolerate a homosexual. I have always wondered why? I guess in Nigerian culture, it is okay to sexually molest and abuse a child but not okay for two adults of the same gender to engage in CONSENSUAL intercourse.

What exactly do the Asians do that makes their Children behave better or successful in life more than African, Carribean or other Black Groupings in the UK? I still want to solve the puzzle. I have been privileged to be close to some Asian Families and I have noticed that there seems to be some order and intentional method of raising their kids to become successful in business and professional life. And When I say I spend time with Asians, I have actually spent time in their homes and taken the time to observe things. Their kids are mostly found doing productive things smiley smiley smiley after school hours. The other day,I went to a Caribbean Restaurant to buy some jerk chicken and rice, and the way the Black boys there were sizing me up and looking at me in a shifty manner leaves much to be desired shocked shocked shocked shocked shocked.

What is going on in a good number of black families in Europe and North America?

This is a very sad development, no matter what some people think shocked shocked shocked shocked

I would have loved it if Sade sent Ila to Nigeria on holidays when she was younger. Nothing beats being raised up in the Culture of your People. Yes, everyone has a right to become what they want to be, but I don't share that opinion. Asian children hardly turn out like this because the Asians are very serious about their Culture and Family values. We Africans are doing ourselves a lot of disservice by abandoning our traditions and culture and proper way of bringing up our Children. We don't have to give our children too much Freedom all in the name of modernization lipsrsealed lipsrsealed lipsrsealed. I am not really happy with this development. So sad cry cry cry cry cry cry cry cry cry cry cry cry cry cry cry cry cry cry cry cry.

They want to capture Bayelsa State at all costs because many people still regard GEJ as their President. GEJ is still popular in Nigerian politics. APC is scared that PDP will rebuild and stage a comeback in 2019. So they want to capture Bayelsa State and embarrass the PDP and Goodluck Jonathan. No matter what the media is portraying, Goodluck Jonathan is still popular and he is the rallying figure of the PDP. cHHERS.

I am always interested in developmental threads on Nairaland cool cool cool cool cool

Someone posted some pictures of a dilapidated school in Lagos on this thread, and no one has bothered to ask why the Desks and Chairs that were made in 2009 had been destroyed so quickly. The truth is we don't have a good maintenance culture in Nigeria. We need to develop a very strong Maintenance culture first before we can start talking of having good looking facilities in schools. That is why I am not happy with the current Buhari Administration. It seems the APC does not have a plan for the massive renovation of Public Schools in the country. This Government has not even told us in detail how it intends to implement its One Meal a day Program in Public Primary Schools huh huh huh. This Government has not unveiled a comprehensive plan on how to collect taxes from all levels in Nigeria. Nigerians are also not good at paying taxes and people expect their environment to be like that of Europe and North America lipsrsealed lipsrsealed lipsrsealed lipsrsealed lipsrsealed.

The situation is going to remain the same until we have a Government that will stop giving us empty promises, but will get to work immediately after being sworn into Power. Cheers.

OAU Ife HAS TO UNDERGO THE DE-CONGESTION PROCESS UNIBADAN WENT THROUGH FROM 2000-2002 for OAU's Halls of Residence to be in top notch condition. The University of Ibadan decided to systematically reduce the Institution's Population in the year 2000 by releasing a big list of low performing students in the PUNCH Newspapers and went on to terminate the studentships of these undergraduates. They were students that had lower than 1.3 CPGA ( UI's CPGA is from 1.0 to 7.0 ). I was a 100 level student when this de-congestion exercise took place. The exercise was supervised by the then Vice Chancellor Professor Ayodele Falase and the Registrar then, Mrs Mojisola Ladipo. The exercise was in 3 stages and many low performing and fake students were expelled from UI. UI's student population went down immediately and it was noticeable too. Then from late 2001, the Renovation of the Halls of Residence began during a ASUU strike. I was on the Campus and saw all these developments. When academic activities resumed at the University of Ibadan, the whole Campus was looking like a Foreign University and the Halls of Residence had been renovated to a satisfying level. Due to the many students that had been sent packing due to bad grades, there were less students vying for bed spaces in the Halls of Residence. 3-4 students were allocated to each room in most of the Halls. In my Hall ( Zik Hall ), some rooms had only 2 occupants for a whole academic session smiley smiley smiley smiley. Students became serious and cultists started visiting the library. And UI's rooms in the Halls of Residence are bigger than what obtains in many other Nigerian Universities.

So OAU has to go through the Student and Accommodation Revolution UI went through from 2000-2002. Cheers.

And some idiots will be comparing OAU to the University of Ibadan huh huh huh.

I was an undergraduate at UI when the Halls of Residence of the Institution were renovated in 2001/2002. More than 500 Million Naira was given to the UI Administration by the Federal Government of Nigeria for the renovation of Hostels on the Campus. UI's Halls of Residence are in a very good shape today. OAU students should request for the same gesture from the Federal Government. They should also learn to use facilities in the proper manner and not like Animals. I think OAU needs a depopulation exercise via low achieving students being sent away from the institution. Then the Halls of Residence should be de-congested so that only 2-3 students will occupy a room. Cheers.

My Guy, do you remember Bruno Metsu? Metsu was Senegal's Coach at the 2002 World in South Korea and Japan. Do you remember how Metsu chose his players carefully and took Senegal to the Quarter Finals of that World Cup? The Senegalese team Managed by Bruno Metsu played beautiful attacking Football and nearly got to the Semi Finals of the 2002 World Cup. A foreign Technical Adviser can win the Senior World Cup for Nigeria. Metsu also married a Senegalese lady and he saw himself as citizen of Senegal, though he was from France originally. These days, loyalties to countries are as thin as Tissue Paper. Cheers.
pazienza:
No foreign coach has ever won the Senior world cup. Only indigenous coaches are capable of steering a nation to a world cup victory.
SportsRe: Nigeria Vs Mali: FIFA U-17 World Cup Final (2 - 0) On 8th November, 2015 by Redman44(m): 1:55am On Nov 09, 2015
You don't get what I am saying. As for now, there is no Technical Adviser or Coach in Nigeria that can take us to the Semi Finals of the Senior World Cup. Our Coaches have not really worked on themselves to make a huge impact at the FIFA Senior World Cup level. It will take us some time to produce Senior World Cup winning Coaches and Technical Advisers.

Did you notice how Will Voigt practically destroyed the teams Nigeria played against at Afrobasket 2015 cool cool cool? Before then we had Nigerian Coaches like Ayo Bakare and Toyin Sonoiki doing their best but never being able to defeat Angola at the African level when it comes to Basketball. In comes, Will Voigt ( An American Basketball Coach ) and Nigeria finally defeats Angola. Will Voigt also chose his players carefully. We need a good coach.technical adviser from Germany or Holland who does not have to be coaching a top league club, but who knows how to build a team that can shock the World. Cheers.

Thank you!
You said well but why must it always be a FOREIGN technical adviser?

You people nor dey get small shame?

Those White people, are they aliens or do they have two heads on their shoulder?

Are you telling me that if Amunike, a black man, can win the World Cup where many other "White Coaches" failed.... that we are still inferior to the white man?

With many intelligent people like you around, are you saying you cannot put forward a plan, which is followed, will lead to continuity and progress?

How are the Youths supposed to "take over" the mantle of leadership, if they still think like this?

Our problem is not lack of talent or competence.....as we have seen many times.

Our problem is basically CORRUPTION,... in the NFF, Ministry of Sports and other relevant bodies.

We can do it if we can find a way to tackle corruption which is what messes-up every planning put in place because one chairman is plotting to loot the funds allocated for these "continuity project".

Let us all support the fight against corruption.... before it ruins us completely

Congrats to you and other Nigerians, including me.

Look, the European countries we defeated will continue developing the players they brought to this U-17 Tournament that Nigeria just won while many of the Golden Eaglets who have triumphed tonight will be forgotten by March 2016. We need to start doing things in a visionary manner in Nigeria. We need a very good Foreign Technical Adviser/Coach. Someone like Clemens Westerhof who will come in and start building a Super Eagles Squad for the Qatar 2022 World Cup. We have 7 years to before the 2022 World Cup and 7 years is enough to build a very strong team that get us into the Semi Finals of Qatar 2022 Senior World Cup. Sunday Oliseh will only do his best but we need a developmental coach from Germany or Holland. From 2010, we have been producing a lot of players below the age of 20 years old. By 2022, we should not see the likes of Odion Ighalo, Mikel and Ideye Brown in the Super Eagles Squad. Do you understand what I am saying?

Until we got a Foreign Coach for our Men's Basketball team, we did not win AFROBASKET. When the Nigerian Basketball Federation ( NBBF ) employed Will Voigt ( American Basketball Caoch ) this year to take D'Tigers to Afrobasket 2015 in Tunisia, we finally won the Trophy and Nigeria is now the African Basketball Champion. We need a Foreign Technical Adviser/Coach for the Super Eagles towards the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. We should forget about Russia 2018. Cheers.

RomanceRe: Man Brings Wife From Nigeria Abroad Only To Discover She's Pregnant For Another by Redman44(m): 12:54am On Nov 02, 2015
Yes, bringing Nigerian women to the USA and UK after marrying them is very risky. No one can deny this fact. I know two guys in the UK that got slapped by the ladies they married in Nigeria and brought to the UK. The ladies in question quickly transformed into werewolves as soon as they landed in the UK and started claiming their rights. One of them landed a hot slap on the cheeks of a distant uncle of mine and the Marriage is something that cannot be discussed openly on Nairaland. The other lady started receiving calls from Men on EE Mobile Phone less than a week after she arrived in London.

However, many Nigerian ladies that are already abroad are not better in character than the ladies in Nigeria. In fact, they could be worse off. This is because they are exposed to many things here. You can't just trust the Naija Ladies and Women here easily. They break hearts too and will open their thighs for the highest bidder. That is why many of them here are single and searching into their late 30's and 40's. It is very hard to satisfy Nigerian women materially in the UK. Very, Very hard. I don't blame guys going home to look for ladies to marry. The women here are not better than women in Nigeria. Lets state facts as they are. Cheers.

Many Nigerian Marriages abroad are also not in a good shape. Some marriages are kept alive in the UK due to the couples being members of Pentecostal churches like MFM, RCCG, Winners Chapel etc. A lot of rubbish is going on abroad among Nigerian ladies. The ladies abroad are not saints either and many of them will do what a Nigerian based lady will do to a unsuspecting guy. People cheat on their spouses and partners in the UK too. Good Nigerian women are rare in the UK and the USA and its all about the Benjamins for some ladies and women here- You will get into their skirts anytime as long as you are loaded with Dollars and Pounds. Cheers.

Adultery and using someone to travel abroad in the name of Marriage have repercussions. We should not make the mistakes the generation of our Parents made. Cheers.
