Viraltrends123:Yes oh. We heard this and much more dogged determination in 2014, and so 'whether you have liked it or not' Nigeria is where it is today. Keep on acting sentimentally. Hot air will be the harvest. You sit in a place and stake your life for a politician just to prove a point.... |
Felabrity:This is not true. Yes, they live relatively moderate, practical lives in most of Europe but wealth is wealth. They still have luxury cars, yachts, castles, fine foods and wines, art pieces and all the expensive stuff they create and build for themselves first before others and certainly not for the third world. Mercedes Benz is not created for Africa but for markets where wealth resides in such numbers as can sustain the huge amounts spent on R & D needed to keep them in touch with the competition. So the fact is they buy and own them. |

Mr. Festus, you are a lawyer. Can your presidential candidate put this in writing, signed and sealed together with express permission to be impeached if he interferes with the judiciary and it's processes because that is an impeachable offence in all advanced democracies anywhere in the world. Ask him first before concluding oh. Not all Nigerians are swayed by empty words. Non interference or disobedience cannot be a promise. You should not be able to promise what is impossible to do in the first place because in sane climes the law is what makes or breaks a government. A government that is sworn in by the Judiciary cannot be above it and run it roughshod. But here we are, in a country with such a bad, unworkable structure that institutions are all at the service of the monarchy masquerading as the Executive arm of government. If not how can one explain that the Legislature will summon a cabinet Minister to account and he will not go, only to show up when he wants money via budget defence and they gladly receive him and give him what he wants. Or the Judiciary will bask in all the pomp to swear in Mr. President or Mr. Governor and the next day he is using their judgements to make paper aeroplanes.... Mr Keyamo should sit down abeg. How far has he gone to lecture his present principal who is slapping the judiciary in the face right now, about the rule of law in deed. APC cannot reform APC. Democracy does not work that way. |
orisa37:Abi oh. During Covid.... masquerading as NGO's..... ![]() |
From numerous eyewitness reports it can be concluded that foreign agents were involved in the raid but we may have to cut the DSS some slack as the 'American' authorities may want their participation kept under wraps for various reasons as they have not made an official statement on the matter. These issues can sometimes be diplomatic thornbushes both here and back home in Washington. Those folks could be anyone, CIA, mercs, etc. Folks that do not appear for media interviews. |
Cashless failure.... Corruption everywhere. Every news these days appears like a deliberate attempt to spark a revolution. But like the rains and the floods that have besieged Nigeria lately, the soggy resolve of the hapless citizens will not permit any heat to government or fire to the collective bottoms of the operators. They just roll out figures, whip them out of their backsides and expect us to cheer. |
And you will have thought that the laws of demand and supply will spur this indolent government to raise the remunerations and benefits of those who are left to stop the hemorrhaging (no pun intended). But I won't be surprised if they are glad the doctor/patient ratio is getting as long as the odds between Barcelona beating Barcelona anytime in the near future, as it will afford corrupt officials a windfall in ghost doctor salaries. This country is in urgent need of chemotherapy. |
Of course you cannot force credibility on the process or on Nigerians that will vote blind and deaf having not seen anything of worth in the candidates or heard any concrete plans for their progress.... just hoping the vehicle they board will drive itself to their destination. The average PVC remains ineffectual in the quest for a better country. Nigerians are not ready to move forward. Let them sit there and be 'cannoting'. For me I have never in my life seen anyone of worth employed to any organisation of substance for any task of importance without an interview to thoroughly examine his credentials, hear out his plans and gauge his competency. Only in Nigeria. So we see the results. One failed administration after another. |
Damning stats. |
CSTRR:Exactly. That is the difference between poverty and wealth. Accountability. |
Stevenson20:Here they come, bringing sentiments to a gun fight. The figures are clear. He met the debt at x naira and now it is y naira. Wise, competent citizens will do the arithmetic and ask for accounts of the difference. Because it is them that will pay for any wastages or theft through elevated taxes to come and high inflation as we see today. But failed citizens will play the ostrich and deflect responsibility as the government has taught for 7 years. We can see how one bridge across the River Niger, one expressway to Lagos, one rail line to Kaduna and one dam in Nigeria has literally sunk the economy. How come. No one is interested. They fail to realise that the hook, line and sinker of Nigeria has always been in the details. When they buy what should cost 10 naira for 50 naira and hope the people cheer, this is the result. Harrowing poverty with trains, roads and bridges. |
kai, CR7 is really slowing down and losing those predatory box instincts. How many chances before he can make hay. |
Angelfrost:And the FA Cup and League Cup is still there. Arteta may just have to prioritise and leave out his best players completely for certain tournaments. He should forget the FA and League Cups and hang onto the prestige of the Premiership and Europa. |
IFSHR:I have told you. I am not a fan. Sorry, but that is the fact. I stopped supporting teams a long time ago courtesy of Nigeria's U17 team. I discovered sanity in the game, not the players or the teams. |
Angelfrost:They don't see it. They can't see it. They are not very experienced in these things. They cannot see that Jesus is tactically becoming disjointed from the team. They cannot see Martinelli is burning out. They cannot see that Saliba is not getting the message and is beginning to falter.... |
IFSHR:Supporter, supporter, supporter.... You don't have to be supporter of any name to know the game and enjoy the game. As a matter of fact f you want to enjoy football, remove emotions, and the only way to that is to drop your season ticket in the bin. Personally I am a fan of good football and Naples is where fantastic football it is being played this season at the moment. But once a while when you see teams with great tradition you cannot help but mount the pundit;s seat. |
Angelfrost:At the bolded. That is why you cannot continue chopping and changing like you have a full squad. Granted your players cannot play all games but for heavens sake start a match with your full squad. Run them out for 30, 45 or 60 minutes then pull them out one by one as you observe fatigue, not start with a squad you know cannot compete, go down badly and then risk injury to your first team as they scramble to equalize. See the psychological rumpus it caused to Martinelli, Granit and others, players that easily get upset and begin to misfire. |
Smooyis:Years of trading their best players for cash and believing Wenger could continue winning things on a shoe string budget and with kindergarten boys created a culture that haunts the team till today. Only the near riot of fans is prizing Stan Kroenke's stiff fingers open. This team still has a couple of years of investment in quality to rise to title challenges. |
wealthpreach:Deal with what? I'm not the coach or the management or a fan of the club... or any club for that matter so... |
Softmirror:There is no way Arsenal can beat PSV at home with a disjointed team of quality and misfits. Arsenal has a first eleven and that is all. There is no position in that team with a quality replacement. Arteta has done a lot to weed out the dead wood but the squad is still not deep enough to rest players and maintain momentum at the same time and that is because the squad is legendary for not being mentally strong. Bad results affect them badly. |
The great implosion has started. This is typical Arsenal. Fragile at the core. And watch as this disease will spill into the Premiership. Poor management by Arteta. Rest or no rest. You do not change a winning team particularly one known for being so mentally fragile. The core of your team must remain the core. Lokonga and Nketiah are disrupting the core of that team and it will cost Arsenal the fluidity needed to remain contenders for anything this season. |
Henix:And the best President Nigeria will never have. I have zero affinity for politicians but this man is heads and shoulders above every State Governor I have seen till date. |
Hahahaha.... Quantum whot..... ![]() |
Winning123:Don't worry. Those who dislike the United States will see what they have never seen before. A country that is not democratic and has no respects for the human rights of anyone.... That is the country that will herald the end of days when they become the apex predator. |
IKBARUTEN11:In a million years this will never make sense. It is just democracy on its head. Failure should have electoral consequences or regression will be institutionalised with certain finality. Nigerians moved Nigeria a step forward in 2015 by saying no to the continuation of a failed government. That forward movement has stalled. It cannot afford to start rolling back in the same broken vehicle. |
Why use the term 'northerner'.? When are we going to be free of tribalism? What exactly is the objective of this post? I am sure the OP has denounced tribalism when being the victim in the past but the problem with us is that we are quick to exploit it to gain traction wherever possible. So answer. Are you selling your candidate based on ethnicity or not? Because I have heard the man say many times that he is a Nigerian President(ial candidate). So this is unnecessary. |
dre11:That is right. Rub it in their faces since the peons cannot break free from their feudal overlords and take the wheel of this democratic ship for themselves. We are all in this inflation battle together. |
ZombieSlayer1:The US Marine Corps have been the standard protection service of US Embassies since the second world war particularly in troubled, vulnerable and security challenged countries of which Nigeria is one. So the soldiers out of the embassy will be Marines but I have my doubts since it is highly unusual for them to operate outside the confines of the embassy. However it may be US Special forces out of the Africa Command that has operated on our shores before, rescuing hostages just a few years ago. |
handsomeyinka:Oga. The man is not physically able to handle the stresses of running Nigeria as a sole administrator so he will delegate everything. I know that, you know that, you have seen it in the Buhari government but pretend not to. The next question will be, to whom will he delegate? Answer, the same people that are presently running the government. Who else.? Is he going to import people from Norway or Singapore. He will use the same people that are holding him ransome right now and arm twisting him for political support. And we will end up with exactly the same result as we have had for 7 years. Same people, same result. That is why when governments fail, they are cleared out wholesale. You just cannot remove one or two people and expect different results. Look at the United Kingdom, 3 Prime Ministers in one year. So much instability because the government remains the same while only the head has been changed twice. If we cannot understand how democracy works we will continue to gamble and your statement 'I believe' is a statement of hope, of gamble. Democracy is not like that. Democracy is specific, the results and dividends are certain because they are worked out like an equation. And the equation is simple. Failure is punished and success is rewarded. Sorry, but Mr. Tinubu is in the wrong party, a party that has failed in governance and by democratic best practices the APC should not be re-elected solely based on performance. Do so, force it and failure will become ingrained, entrenched in the system for years and decades to come. No one will take performance seriously anymore if they know failure will not be punished and simply overcome by changing the driver. QED. |
ogododo:Of course by the failed citizens that cannot tally their actions with their experiences. They saw the 'signs' in the first Buhari term, but they still subscribed for the 'wonders' of the second term. They want to pursue sentiment then ask God to subsidize their folly with dividends of democracy. They want to sow bad leadership and reap prosperity. And here they come again, hellbent on bringing a third term.... what do you call this.... the wonders of the age. Foreigners will just be wondering which specie of people are held bound in this entity called Nigeria. |
