Yankee101:Why can't he be declared insolvent and his assets confiscated to repay. What is AMCON waiting for or is there something else happening....perhaps the Oba is too big to fail as well...such that even the CBN guv cannot call him or his interests by name. |
ogododo:Mr. President, if you do not want to be called out personally then devolve responsibility, which means devolve power. Send legislation devolving the powers of security agencies particularly the police to states so that governors are held responsible for security in their states. Then no one will call your name for actions within state borders. No one will call out Biden for an incident in Texas or Louisiana or North Carolina no matter how gruesome as long as it does not have national antecedents or carried out by foreign elements. That is the way to go. But we are all honestly in the know that you represent a school of citizens that do not want restructuring, don't want states to be independent in any way because it makes Nigeria easier to dominate, hold down and direct in the interests of a few. So be prepared to be called out for anything and everything that happens in Nigeria no matter how ridiculous because you have not promoted restructuring in anyway in the past six and a half years of your administration. When a supposed elder is seen in every party on the streets the children will sooner mistaken him for a mascot. Nigeria is too top heavy without the requisite qualitative leadership at the centre to match. Even the best leader in the world cannot handle the kind of comp!exity in Nigeria and wisest ones will have restructured the nation. |
When I see things like these I remember the civil rights movements in America and how the authorities particularly the police mishandled them in the initial years. A similar risk of escalation is at hand when basic civil liberties are crushed. The government has just got to stop lighting bonfires of civil unrest and the attendant insecurity crises all over he country but rather adopt civic engagement where clearly no crimes are being committed and no threats are on display. It should stop escalating conflicts and rather tow the line of communication and negotiation with the citizenry it claims to serve. |
Bigredmachine:You don't care about money...sorry oh dear fan but the club is first concerned about making money. Your desires come a distant second. It is a business. |
Bigredmachine:They need the Champions League revenues not the trophy. It is an important part of top teams budgets to enable them invest in new digs and more importantly pay huge wages to those underperforming players and of course, settle debts. |
If Arsenal is ejected by next week Arteta should follow immediately so that the club can reboot its fortunes well ahead of next season. They must by all means sort out their future before the players retire for their summer holidays. |
Kriss216:But that is exactly what the solution in all of nature is. Sorry to disappoint you but you do have to 'invite' the mosquito to solve malaria. You have to study it closely for one and perhaps use some of its qualities and 'strengths' to find an antidote to it. And I speak of the production process of the very vaccines saving the world from the Covid pestilence as well. I am just too sorry for the victims of that man and his maladministration with countless lives lost and societies ripped to shreds but I also just cannot see how you will make an omelette without breaking eggs. I donot know how to secure peace without sitting down with your adversary no matter how bitter one feels. We need to engage ourselves to overcome our differences in this country to save more lives and livelihoods. It is a hard choice but as Christians it is a call to sacrifice, the kind that Jesus made in reaching out to the very folks who hung him eventually. However it is gladdening that he knows through the angst and in no uncertain terms that his actions have been weighed by those he goes before and he is found wanting. Nigeria has no easy solutions. God help us all. |
VTJN:Then let the 'superior' Professor Osinbajo reverse the fortunes of the country he governs. Or are they not in charge of this country anymore. Your problem is with the person criticising, who can do nothing to effect any change. The one you are protecting is responsible. Does this make sense... Some of you folks are prepared to let this country burn or get flushed down the toilet to protect your sycophancy and crude sentiments. At this decaying stage in the life of governments an overwhelming majority of citizens will be baying for change, pressing government to leave if they refuse to act but here you are prepared to stake your life and the life of your seed for what exactly....what are they giving you that is worth your future....kai can a people be so damaged? The person you are talking about will be somewhere in the presidential palace thoroughly ashamed of what has become of his life and legacy in truth because unlike you those who truly love him will have made the case too clear for him to ignore if he has a conscience, that this country is in an absolute mess and his legacy is being poured out into a pit. |
Angelfrost:Nigerian players don't last long. By their 'late 20's' they are already burnt out...Ahmed Musa is the latest, so if I were him and Ndidi especially I will jump at any offer to take me to title winning clubs particularly those with a track record of respect for players and this is more prevalent in Spain and in Italy than in England were they are seen as mere commodities. I am still nervous for the guy. I just hope he has not peaked. |
77star:Na so. Remain small e for be Aburo...Agbero or Agbakoba sef... ![]() |
Which City....the club that no longer plays its strikers....abegi. He should be thinking Spain right now for the rest of his career. Atletico will suit him nicely when the shark retires. The Spanish game will suit his pace and they have better player managers there. |
AllenSpencer:And if the APC loses power to the PDP. In future should we still be talking about Mr Buhari perhaps when he has long gone as the reason to destroy the APC or never to trust them again? Should the company you resigned from still be talking about you 8 years after you left as the reasons why they still cannot sell market. Is is not same company, different staff, same football club, different coach. That they were once relegated means no one should play for them again or support them.... ....what is all these juvenile thinking. You cannot even imagine that political parties are mere platforms, mere institutions, having no life in themselves, no expression but that which is given. If that is the case in more advanced societies like the United States they will have created more than 200 new political parties since independence on account of how power has changed hands....kai Nigerians....get enlightened mbok. |
IMASTEX:Thete are no fresh minds anywhere. Nigerians are Nigerians. The PDP and APC is all there is to work with. Work it out. |
Billyonaire666:That is not how democracy works mister. Be advised. The death of one means autocracy through the other. It will be disastrous to exchange one dictatorship for another. One of the key reasons for the present degeneration is the absence of proper political opposition because the APC set out from the onset to destroy multi party politics in Nigeria. It removed the brakes, bumper, seat belt, steering of democracy and left only the accelerator. Folks are now surprised Nigeria is in a ditch. |
YurFatHer:What have you seen to suggest otherwise. |
This lack of a striker will cost City. Presented with a golden opportunity to close out the tie they are still running round the 18 seeking to work into the net.... |
Very demoralising. |
Fibonacci88:Oga. They were poor yeaterday. It happens. They played way below what they can and you know it if you watched the match. They were lethargic possibly because of the ardous four way Laliga title race and in rotating his squad once again Zidane underestimated Chelsea thinking he could steal a result. I am almost certain they will realign their priorities this weekend in favour of the second leg. |
A1Emerald:What is una? I am not a fan of any club. Left that more than 20 years ago. Just watch the game I love very, very dispationately. It will be completely foolhardy to dismiss a team as experienced as that Madrid team. All of them are multiple Champions league winners. Together with Zidane they are comfortable in any scenario. You must also realise that they are not always dominant at home. They have been beaten several times at home in the past but such a big game team always finds a way to a a result. They will seek a result at the Bridge, period. Chelsea had better be wary. Thank goodness their coach is. |
blackjack21:I think they will win it. The stars are aligning for them and moreover there is Champions League history of teams who get close in preceding seasons winning it subsequently. Neymar is also fit which is a rarity atthis point in the season. Good signs all round. |
Guardiola tactics once more a let down in these marquee games. He should be held to account. It is sheer arrogance not to play an away semifinal without a recognized striker. It is sheer arrogance to think he can just stroll into the PSG net. Once again if they cannot strike they go home, simple. |
PSG is super comfortable in the ball. This will be a long night for City. They should watch the cards. |
dotcomnamename:Real Madrid will not play the same game you saw yesterday. They are far too experienced for that. They clearly underestimated Chelsea. They won't make the same mistake twice. Home and away doesn't count in empty stadiums. I assess outcomes by the residual levels of potentials. Chelsea played at almost 100 percent of their potentials to get that result while Madrid were less than 60 percent. |
LesbianBoy:Hahaha...what a laff... |
I juat donot understand the Guardiola tactic of playing a false nine n every match scenario these days. It is bound to falter sooner than later. If DeBruyne cannot strike City will go home after this leg. It is foolhardy to think they will dance and waltz their way into every 9 yard box againat every team again and again. |
PSG v Real Madrid final confirmed. |
Put your head down and continue the good work young man. Don't mind them. |
doctokwus:Hindsight is 20/20. But if you go back to a fair number of my posts in 2014 and 2015 you will discover exactly this position. That the man being elected simply does not have the capacity to handle the issues bedevilling Nigeria. It has taken all of six years, six years of waste, losses and carnage to discover that. The worst thing is that a fair of success will have been achieved if the said person was nlt a so called 'strong man'. That term was used vividly and frequently back then to describe a person who will act swiftly, courageously and directly. Little did they realise it actually meant a person who will not seek or accept advice. Who Mr. Garba Shehu has admitted cannot be moved by anything. Thus the disasters unfolding before everyone. At least if Mr President was reachable throughout his tenure the blame if any for this situation wil have gone round but now he has to inherit it all. A wasted legacy indeed. |
zillavisual:Played it this morning on radio this morning in Abuja, strong words that could never be attempted independently previously. The angst against this mess is rising daily and people are becoming more and more vocal with ever brasher words. The Nigeria state has never been weaker, the leadership never been this overwhelmed and reduced to nothing. This government for all intents and purposes are completely spent. |
festacman:Oga. He has already answered you. You are not there. He is speaking from a place of reality and giving all of us a reality check. Do you think he doesn't know the things you list here but he has seen that in the present govermental system they are not just possible. The Legislature has been hijacked wholesale by the Executive with Femi and Lawan running down any and every positive input and move towards a better Nigeria that does not sit well with Mr. Buhari thus effectively turning that institution into a Presidential poodle. Stop pretending that those folks there are independent in mind and action and can do anything to better Nigeria. We did sorely warn you guys not to give in to autocracy but get a truly independent Legislature not afraid to confront the excesses of the Executive but then Saraki was the clog in the wheel of government you all said. Now you want to make bread from stones....what is wrong with you people sef. Smart is right. He has said the truth. Now let us all accept our failings and stop playing the 'Garden of Eden' musical chairs. We are all responsible for the mess in Nigeria. Those in power did not put themselves there. |
rottennaija:So how was the Contrator prequalified in the first place. You do a good pre contract assesment specifically for this kind of problem and the attendant cost/loss to the taxpayer/oil wealth shareholder. |
highdon:That is why they didn't want the ESL. They hoover up all the resources from other bundesliga clubs and bank on half a dozen ties to win the Champions league. You can imagine if this was happening in the Premiership with City buying up everything or Laliga with Barcelona taking the best out of even Real and Atletico players or in Italy Juventus raiding Milan and Inter regularly for their top players. |
