Nemere2020:But I don't get the fuel stuff. The popular saying is that fuel is cheaper in Nigeria than on the West Coast and all around us thus the horrendous smuggling.. How come the news here is that ATK is cheaper in Accra and planes prefer to refuel there. Who is lying please and where are these damn journalists to verify facts. |
helinues:On the flip side expect to see players earning 1 million, 2 million, 3 million dollars per week. Expect to see more career soccer billionaires. What majes them different from other entertainers who sacrifice all to make it. |
favour32:If they ban all those clubs mentioned banks, corporate sponsors will abandon the game of soccer in droves. FIFA/UEFA watched as clubs evolved from amateur weekend only entities to become self supporting, professional establishments in the 30's 40's and 50's. FIFA/UEFA watched as clubs exchanged their supoorters ownership structures for corporate identities in the 70"s, 80's and 90's. FIFA/UEFA watched as billionaire moneybags from the west, oligarchs from the east and oil sheikhs from the middle grabbed elite soccer by the jugular stating two decades ago. FIFA/UEFA have stood idly by watching the pussycat turn into a 300 pound ferocious feline. What exactly did they expect. What did they think would happen when they sold their birthright in handing Qatar, Qatar OF ALL COUNTRIES the hosting right to the 2022 World Cup. They shamelessly made a stand for money and now it is tearing all world soccer apart. Everyone wants to leverage on his strength and grab as much as possible. Covid has shown that Papa FIFA cares for himself only. The kids want to fend for themselves. |

CSTRR:At the end of the day I think FIFA/UEFA will have to negotiate. Threats, threats, threats has never worked in the world and in all of history on any matter. It has never held back innovation, quest or liberty. FIFA/UEFA should allow the top clubs have a bigger say in the way its elite European competition is organised. |
Sunnycliff:More money in their pockets. They will play to their hearts content. |
Hmmm...the crypto currency of the soccer world is here. Everywhere you look the old world order is being challenged and here FIFA and UEFA act like typical Central Banks. You just cannot tie down the human desire for liberty. It may work now or not but one thing for sure, except that which God Almighty creates, nothing lasts forever. What is FIFA or UEFA. Just an Association. A club. A group of people coming together to do stuff. Period. It is not eternal. It had a beginning. It can have an end. |
Faber:How you guys carve racism into everything is just an unfortunate, really disgusting mystery. Is it not enough to praise achievements and move on. What has Ahmed Musa done to hurt you personally.... |
If Arteta fails to win Europa he should be let go at season's end. You just feel he has maxed out his potentials and I cannot see in him the aura of attracting top players to a club not playing in Europe next time around. Arsenal needs quality all round. Players, coaches and perhaps management. Every person in that club has failed. |
reccy:Will you say this if the man in question were to be from the opposite faith to yours and serving in a government you might or might not have voted in. The patriotism you speak about is showing consistent views across all interests and speaking up honestly about issues bothering the whole (not part) of the nation. He is a Minister to Nigeria not Minister servant to a political party, a certain regions or certain faith. Patriotism is taking all these into account in all utterances and actions. Democracy is not rule by coercion but by accomodation, solidarity and acceptance. He erred in his views and disposition. Stop whipping up emotions or sentiment. |
One of the FDI claims of this government you can be sure, while the cool cats head to Accra. |
helinues:Yes, we need to shift our attention away from the Presidency because they have lost control of the country and the ship.of state is driven onto the rocks. By your own admission we have a lame duck government at the centre, unable to move this country forward so we have to look elseqhere. What a massive step down from 2015. Where is all the bombastic vitriol about messianic deliverance....indeed we have to look elsewhere. You folks should have made that clear in the run up to the 2019 polls so that Nigerians will have looked elsewhere for proper leadership. |
Na so City wan handle PSG...hmmm.... |
Two of the best teams in the Premiership on display. Should be a classic. |
The choices are stark heading into 2023. We had better get an astute economist into Aso Rock. We are done with military backgrounders that sound logical in a climate of insecurity. If we cannot return our economic to the path of real growth we will only be fuelling insecurity with a growing army of disenchanted while the resources available to combat them will continue shrinking. Our anti corruption only choice in 2015 has proven to be a strategic error. We have not seen any benefit of the much vaunted anti corruption fight while other aspects of life and living have been left moribund. |
Na so. A new abbatoir has opened for Pep and the gang to slaughter records next season. They will be issuing their promo code very soon to celebrate the feat. |
homegirl1:You are talking about roads. Electricity that is a given in some parts is so bad now. Water has been epileptic since November ending. Abuja is evolving under this government into an urban slum.... |
meobizy:So, so many of them on the forum jumping up and down like nursery school kids in 2014/15 but today have all gone missing. The few left have changed identity to hide from the kind of shame the internet is expert at uncovering. Same as the electronic media both television and radio, hailers have been cut to mere fractions. We are firmly in the season of 'I told you so', but there still lies 18 months to go in the school of hardknocks. Let us see who graduates with honours by 2023. |
sanpapi:Actually, a lot healthier. Do you know how many hours of cardio it will take to burn off a twelve inch disc? We are in the season of eating things we hate and hating things we used to eat. |
Why won't sane folks head to Ghana. Whatever is your culture appears normal to you. But unfortunately it may be intolerable to others. Very soon reprobates will say endSARS is responsible for demarketing Nigeria when it was mean to end the real anti salesmen in uniform. |
Jerryherd:He doesn't have to start anything new. Governance is a service to people not an ego trip or a beauty contest. Do things that dirr fly benefit the people. If it involves only completing critical projects throughout a tenure, so be it. Government is a continuum of which leadership plays its small part and boiws out honourably leaving society better than you met it. If we adopt this attitude consistently over a generation, Nigeria and indeed Africa will develop. |
Have they run out of ink and printing paper in Abuja.....just thinking... |
YourhealthNG2:We've been talking about that project since OBJ's first term. One of the longest ever civil projects to deliver. So frustrating. Together with Abuja-Lokoja and the East-West highways they had become sheer money pits. |
Good one. I suppose he is banking on the Nations Cup for a return to Europro. |
WriterNig:I think Covid will have a big say in the final figures. Tourism is a big part of income and we cannot say if global travel restrictions will be eased by then. Already the summer Olympics in Tokyo will be void of fans and massive losses in tourism income. Secondly commercial sponsorships flows with the global economy and things are yet to recover from the pandemic. There will be a lot of cancelled deals. It will be tough for Qatar. Earnings on their gas resources too are not doing too well at the moment. |
MrNipplesLover:Here they come again but the instant doctors or health workers go on strike the lamentations start instantly. Then it will be termed wickedness, no more cash out. Mister you need to go out into the real Nigeria and see the sufferings of your fellow citizens and stop demonstrating poor judgement.. |
Covid has been a huge distraction to residual health challenges this past year. When focus is regained I do hope the statistics will not be unnerving. BTW, who has noticed his/her health improve drastically since the pandemic started. I mean those who have been religiously observing sanitary protocols till date. It appears a lot of niggling illnesses are either spread by social interaction, touching, ventilation,, etc, or perhaps our restricted exposure has given our bodies the latitide to fight off other infections since we are clamping down on the human to human transmissible ones. Just observed that over the past year haven't caught the flu, neither the usual bouts of malaria and other tropical infections. This hand washing thing really works. |
zabuur:. That is why this country is becoming unlivable. Everyone caught in crimes these days has holy, sanctimonious excuses and a whole lot disciples in tow point ing fingers here and there. See how this country degenerates. |
mountmoriah:Nigerians always in denial, zero values, never having standards, always against the law and seeking excuses for wrongdoing. For your information. His crime is sgainst the law, against what society has termed unacceptable. His crime is not agsinst the NDLEA or its operatives. So be advised to weigh the scenario aright. If he sees any of them trafficking or consuming controlled substances he can petition the agency on our behalf and we will thank him for helping us clean up society. Let us for once stand up for ourselves, drop the sentiment and do what is right in this country. We are sinking under the weight of criminality in Nigeria. |
Everyone shouting rape here when it is a clear case of murder/assassination. That certain documents were missing in a clear hint of those behind it which sounds like the fallout of deal making or high value posessions. The rape was certainly to dehumanise the victim, not the primary reason for the assault and I won't be surprised if they find signs of torture. I hope the police won't fall for that and prosecute the incident as a sex crime, totally missing the point and possibly a much wider conspiracy. All her associates should come under the microscope. |
He is back already. No need for all.these. |
kmcutez:But you too are stoking the kind of ethnic sentiment with provocative gestures and profiling that causes all these things in the first place. Can you look in the mirror in a civil, dispassionate manner and officially retire from this charade. I am sure as well that Ghanaians donot racially slur one another. Beware. |
